Just had my initial walkthrough at New York Family Fitness, and I'm already impressed! The facility is spotless – seriously, I've never seen a gym this clean. In fairness I walked in one time for information. They had no helpful information for seniors in the Kaiser program. She didn’t know anything even though that gym was supposedly in that system as stated in the Kaiser website. I wasn’t too bothered about it because the smell in that place was awful. It smelled like dirty clothes and had a wet moldy quality that got worse the longer I stood there. It’s ok though. I found a facility nearer and newer.

I called ahead and spoke with Christina who was AMAZING!! I was visiting family and needed a space to get my evening workout in….NYFF had EVERYTHING and MORE for what I was looking for. 3 different rooms which they refer to as “BAYS” as well as a class studio. If you have kids they have a kids area too. The gym itself was clean and easy to get to with plenty of parking and for it being in a small town it’s open 24hrs which is also a plus! I’ll definitely be back!

The staff members are nice until you try to end your membership. Had a bad experience speaking with a rude front desk person on the phone when trying to cancel. Don’t sign up for a year membership unless you are 100% sure you will be there for a whole year, and read their contracts very thoroughly. I gave 2 stars for the good gym equipment, but this place is all ambiance and zero substance. Don't believe the other reviews on here, you will have a better time at a different gym.

Initially, I joined New York Fitness because after touring the gym, I saw that they had a lot more equipment that I would like to use on a regular basis, than the gym I was currently training at. They also have a physical therapist right there on site, and at that time I had a shoulder and knee injury. I purchased a PT package from the physical therapist, Jarrod and within a few months my shoulder and knee were working at 100% thanks to him. Every time I go in the gym, I’m always greeted by either Kristina or Shelly, who are always positive, motivated and take a real interest in you as a member of the club and what your goals are. After getting to know all the staff they really make you feel like you’re part of the family. Morgan, another one of their trainers always made herself available to give free pointers on how to better achieve my goals. Not long ago I suffered a back injury and I had an opportunity to hire her as a trainer, and finally give back for all the free help I had received from her. Like with Jarrod it was a great experience and now my back is healed. Hands-down New York Fitness is the best gym I’ve ever been a part of and I’ve been training for over 40 years.

I joined New York Family Fitness around 2017 found it to be the best fitness center I've ever been associated with. All the weights and machines were conducive to what I needed. And when they move to their new location I transferred with them and found that this establishment was even better than the first with more updated weights and machines. With all the additions that they had and added to this location I found it to be useful and whatever someone wanted to do to try to get their shelves in shape and to stay active. The staff are in my opinion excellent. Shelly and Christine are very helpful and finally not only to me but to others who enter this facility. It's always nice to greet them as I come through the door they're always having Smiles on their face and a positive attitude. I would highly recommend this place for anybody who really seriously wants to get in shape and also to socialize with the other members. The owner Shawn is a competitive bodybuilder along with his wife Kate. And their Prime examples of how one should look when they are in shape. I would encourage anyone who wants to get in shape and to get healthy to join this facility. I'm also impressed with their personal trainers who are always willing to help one with our personal training program.

I have been a member of New York Family Fitness for a few years now, even left and tried another gym since it was closer to home BUT I made the switch back and do the drive-the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and willing to help if you have any questions about workouts or muscle groups, as well as you’re surrounded with other members who are supportive and more than happy to help if ever the need. I joined NYFF when my two oldest sons were old enough and needed the space to throw weights during their off-season for football. I decided to switch my membership to join them at NYFF. This happened at the time when NYFF was changing venues. NYFF made relentless effort in updating and expanding their business to offer everything they knew their members would want in a premier gym. Having not been a consistent gym attendee my entire life, I found it easy to go to NYFF. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, helping me to expand my knowledge and use of the gym. I subsequently enrolled my youngest son so that he could start to experience the healthy lifestyle that NYFF promotes and encourages. If I could give 10 stars, I definitely would. I use the yoga, cycling and hip hop classes, but want to try more like TRX and circuits. I also use the cardio machines, pickle ball court, trainers, infrared sauna and weights. The place is big with lots new equipment, so no waiting. Childcare is consistent and professional. Thanks to all of what NYFF has to offer, I am in the best condition of my life! There is a real sense of community here. You can embrace it or just come for the perfect workout experience.

Great gym, and the staff is truly great. I loved working out here, especially because of the staff. However, the whole cancellation process is predatory. Even if you change your debit card, they will still continue charging you. You have to come in person to the gym. So, if you moved and now live in another state, they still want you to come into the gym. That's the only way of canceling. It's kind of a joke; it's obvious they are penny squeezing. The gym will claim the reason you need to come in person is to prevent anyone else from canceling your account without your permission. However that could just be solved by verifying a security question or verifying the holders phone number. But let's be real, there's no villain out here cancelling gym memberships for a pastime. We all know the real reason - very shady.

NYF has been a great place to unwind from a busy work day or just to have some clarity from cardio to simply hitting some weights. I’m sad to report this, but even after direct communication with the owner- there was no acknowledgment of having double billed me, promising they would change their rate when they moved, and the questionably legal contract they ask you to sign (which I was never able to confirm actually complied with California state law). Instead I’m probably out an additional several hundred dollars due to all of these factors.

They are no better if not worse than any standard gym, and now no amenities. Save your money and go anywhere else.

For what I pay per month for my membership plus the limited day care hours (I have been turned away several times since signing up two months ago, and I always call in advance) I sort of expect more. The employees are STELLAR (shoutout to Christina and Raina) but the facility is rather outdated and could use at least a minor face-lift (paint, pool cleaning, etc.) and a deep clean. $120/month for membership and "unlimited" (but very limited) day care.

There is no gym around that can equal this one. The owners are wonderful people who genuinely want you to succeed. It doesn't happen to be near either my home or my work but I wouldn't switch to another gym for anything. It's so worth it!
