Tom has been an absolutely phenomenal coach and has completely transformed my golf game. In just over a year, he has helped me drop my handicap by 10 and has likely saved me an average of 15 strokes per round from where I was before working with him.

What truly sets Tom apart is his hands-on approach and his ability to tailor his coaching to each individual. He takes the time to analyze your swing in detail, but instead of overwhelming you with technical jargon, he offers simple, actionable fixes that are easy to implement and, most importantly, sustainable over time.

Every session with Tom feels productive and focused, and his passion for teaching is evident in the way he genuinely cares about your progress. Whether you’re trying to shave strokes off your game or just looking for consistency, Tom has the expertise, patience, and insight to make it happen.

If you’re serious about improving your golf game, I can’t recommend Tom highly enough. He’s the best coach I’ve ever worked with, and the results speak for themselves!

NorCal Golf Academy is the best! I have been working with Tom and his team for over a year and my golf game has improved in dramatic fashion. Not only is the staff well informed about the latest and greatest in golf science, but they are excellent teachers that can make challenging concepts and moves feel simple and actionable. Finally, the facility is top-notch with the best technology and tools to elevate your training. I will definitely be on team NorCal as long as I play this crazy game!

I started taking lessons with Tom just three months ago as a high single-digit handicap with a very handsy swing. He’s already helped me make my swing more efficient, which has made me more consistent and has had the added benefit of reducing some wrist pain that I had with my old swing. The thing that impresses me the most about Tom is his ability to not only diagnose the changes needed in my swing, but also his ability to communicate the way I should implement those changes. Rather than just telling me exactly what positions I should be in, he gives me descriptions of different feelings I should have at each point in my swing. Since taking lessons from Tom, I’ve also gained 20-30 yards off the tee and have shot my career low round. Can’t recommend Tom enough for anyone that wants to improve their swing.

This golf studio deserves more than 5 stars! They offer everything from coaching to fitting, with bays available for practice.

I was hesitant to take golf lessons initially due to the scarcity of female coaches. However, my coach Tom has significantly improved my game within 6 months. Sometimes, he would "fix me" so I could compete in local tournaments.

I started with an 18 HCP after 2 years of playing golf, unhappy with my swing and lacking a solid foundation to improve. But in just 6 months, I went from an 18 to a 14 HCP, and now I'm at a 13 HCP.

My goal is to reach the single-digit mark, and I hope to achieve it soon! :)

I wrote a Google review for Nor Cal Golf Academy years ago... and guess what, still coming in for lessons and getting better at golf.

More recently though, I decided to get a club fitting done with Tom. We spent an hour going through different shafts, attempting to get both the height and dispersion to a better place.

By the end of the fitting I was getting an additional 30 feet of height and 6-7 degrees of descent.

Just took the clubs out to the course and they were as amazing on grass as on the sim - great place for club fittings as well as lessons

Jack is an excellent teacher and was able to fix my swing drastically, increasing my yardage by nearly 40%. Although the prices may seem high, the quality of instruction and professionalism of the staff make it a great deal. Would recommend to anyone looking to improve their game.

Drove up from south bay to take lessons from Curtis at NCGA. He, and the rest of the staff, are extremely knowledgeable about golf, the golf swing, and how to coach. Beyond being great coaches, everyone there is also just fun to be around. I looked forward to my lessons to both get better and just have a fun time. Curtis truly made the improvement process fun and I steadily saw improvements lesson to lesson. Using trackman and hi speed swing analysis software translated feels to tangible data as to my improvement. Compared my move to top professionals' to see the ideal positions to hit and feels to get there. This has translated to consistently lower golf scores round by round. Elliot fit me for new clubs and he really knows his stuff, couldn't recommend him enough as well. Overall 10/10 experience.

Hands down fastest way to improve your golf game. Instruction is great and with the technology they have, there is no guessing about what you are doing vs what should be done. So your lesson time and practice time is focused and effective.

I've taken lessons from both Tom and Josh. Both are excellent. Just read the 5 star reviews.

I started getting more serious about golf within the last 1-2 years. I was debating signing up for one of the week-long golf schools to improve my swing and technique. A friend recommended Tom at NorCal Golf Academy instead. This was by far the best choice and has been the best investment in my golf game. Tom is an extremely patient and knowledgeable teacher. He leaves you feeling like each lesson is customized just for you. And because I am more of a visual learner, everything is presented in a way that appeals to my learning style. I'm hooked and have now signed up for a year-long membership program.

Tom provides a robust approach to learning a consistent swing. No anecdotal 'tips' - every lesson is structured to provide specific feedback on an aspect of your swing, which can then be tested and improved via the trackman system.

This is the place to go if you are serious about improving and want to put a lot of effort into the process. I have had an extremely positive relationship with Tom for the last year, and I think Kjerstin (who leads the physical training) and Rebekah (the other golf pro) are both great, too. My game has improved significantly and I am much more consistent than before. I would give 5 stars except the program isn't for everybody.....they place a high emphasis on physical training and fitness, so don't go if you just want to swing golf clubs without working out; to get the most out of the program, you'll have to invest significant time and money (this isn't a place just to drop in for a tune-up lesson or two); and there is a substantial technology component to the training which isn't for everyone. That being said, give it a try and if you are willing to work hard you will improve your game substantially.

I'm a 70 year old single digit who has taken lessons from lots of instructors over the years. Tom Rezendes at NorCal Golf Academy is by far the most up to date instructor in the Bay Area with the latest equipment. I drive 90 minutes for my lessons as he's really the only one who does what he does. If you haven't worn a K-vest, or used some swing analysis software, you haven't understood what it takes to make a professional swing. Using his tools and understanding the golf swing Tom can make you a better player. If you are interested improving your game I can't encourage you enough to take some lessons from NorCal Golf Academy. You won't be disappointed.

I started playing golf in 1993 when my two boys now 20 and 23 discovered the game and fell in love with it. They both played on the High School team and currently shoot in the 70’s and 80’s while I was shooting 115 or higher. We all love playing together, but I needed to improved. I have taken traditional lessons with little to show for it. I started with the Par program and worked with Tom. The killer combination of Tom’s great instruction, and the instant video and K-vest feedback help me understand the golf swing and make sense of it. Before Tom I really had no clue what I was doing with my golf swing. If I had a bad shot I didn’t know how to correct it, or a good shot how to repeat it. I now understand what a good golf swing looks like and more importantly what it feels like, and have a foundation to build on and improve. My scores are now in the 90’s and improving with each round.

I highly recommend the program and particularly if you’re a beginning golfer or a hacker like me. If you have any doubts about the program drop in and have Tom show you my before and after swing. If that doesn’t convince you of the improvement that’s possible nothing will.

Tom at NorCal Academy provides a different approach called the K Vest Trainer which I found to be very helpful in understanding the angle of your hips before during and after impact among other things that are critical to have a consistent golf swing. I highly recommend NorCal Academy.

I noticed the NorCal Golf Academy sign on Mt Diablo Blvd one day and stopped in to see what it was all about. I had visited Solid Impact before, but I didn't like the programs that were offered. Tom's programs seemed more suited to continued improvement through lessons and quality practice. He stresses the importance of not taking another lesson until you have worked on the skills you were taught in the prior lesson. The K-Trainer allows you to work on those skills with instant feedback so you know you are practicing correctly every time. This is so important in golf, because what you think you are doing is often very different from what you are actually doing. Many golfers don't realize this until they see their swing on video for the first time.

I started the Par program to get ready for a tournament. I only had 6 weeks to get ready so I was a little worried my swing might get worse before it improved. While the first week was a little rough, my body started getting used to the new position quickly. By the second week, my swing was really taking shape. I increased my driving distance by 20-30 yards, making me the longest driver at the tournament.(I am 5'10" 140lbs) I dropped my handicap from 12 to 7.5 and shot a 3 under 33 in my final 9 hole match. Since starting the Par program, I can self diagnose a lot of on course issues and get back on track quickly. I highly recommend checking it out.
