If you do a yearly account with them, they will not let you out of the contract. Unless you move to a location they do not have a NS fit or lions den. I filed to cancel my membership w them provided proof of moving to a completely different state. Yet they still continue to charge me my yearly contract. What a scam. It been 3 months. I have attempted to contact the upper management and have not herd anything back.

The phone number for the Chico club wasn't working and I noticed the Chico club is no longer on the NSFit website. I contacted another location and they told me that the club was sold at the beginning of the month but they had no contact info for the new owners. I don't know what this means for the fate of the facility. This club is in need of some decent maintenance for sure. I hope the new owners will invest some serious capital in the declining state of things: removing carpet in the locker rooms (gross) and everywhere else, the obvious water damage throughout the building, putting in proper flooring in the group workout spaces instead of cheap laminate plank, and generally bringing it out of the 90s. The potential is definitely there. I will say that the equipment, especially the weight room is the best part of this place for the price compared to other gyms in Chico. I hope the new owners decide to bolt down the power racks and other heavy machines and equipment though.

Actively lies about how much the membership will cost and will let you tour under the impression you'll get to try it out before buying, having a sign even saying so out front, but then - $20 for a day pass. I’ve only been twice since I just enrolled. What can I say? Qr code makes it easy to sign in and access all of the amenities. I especially enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, and upstairs cardio machines. Great space and layout. I think you can bring a friend on Fridays, I’ll look into it. Thanks.

Overall value is great. I have been a member of NS Fit for 15+ years — way before it was owned by NS Fit. NSF has definitely been an upgrade over the last owners. It’s great to have a gym with racquetball courts. My biggest complaint is that things don’t get fixed very quickly after they break down/ stop working e.g. the hot tub and workout machines mostly. They seem to be doing a better job in the last couple months so if they keep it up I will upgrade my rating next time around.

Horrible attitude from the manager (she did not provide her name) and her staff. I went down to do a walk through and staff insisted that I give over my license#, address, phone, email, date of birth, you name it just so that I could tour. When I questioned why so much information up front the 3 staff plus manager, all very young, all sitting around at the desk chatting away with each other became confrontational on why I asked.

KEEKEE, the main agressor, (manager later called her by name after I asked for her name and she refused to provide it) said that it was needed, because if I 'walked in 5 feet' and slipped and fell that I couldn't sue them. I couldn't believe such a comment. If someone legit gets hurt by their negligence, then that person should have every right for compensation!

The manager said I had to sign the waiver because it was "dangerous" to walk in there, there were 'weights all over'..

If it's so dangerous, I said, then they shouldn't be operating, imo! That just riled the group of teens/20's to zero customer service skills.

The staff all chimed in that 'all healthclubs require this process', even though I advised that I had been to other area healthclubs and this was not at all required to give so much personal information before even touring.

KEEKEE then told me to "then go to those places then!" and swept her hand towards the door.

The entire staff, and lady who eventually identified herself as a manager were insanely unprofessional and so my daughter and I decided we were done with NSF and walked out.

We we left i told my daughter that their behavior and way of interacting was completely unprofessional. KEEKEE and her manager heard me say something and literally yelled at me from their desk as I closed the door.

Then once I reached my car the manager actually came out to the parking lot to continue to engage!

Absolutely unbelievable and no wonder their establishment is struggling like it is. They lost our business before we could even sign up, and thank God for that.
It's unbelievable that this would be acceptable behavior at any place of businesses. Holy cow, they lost my business for ever. I am confident that they do not care, and that's the problem.

The music choices were top tier and if I were to suggest one thing I think it would adding a refill water station instead of only a drinking fountain. I have been lifting at NS since I first arrived as a Chico State student in 2016.

Their available hours are awesome. Early mornings and late nights. Tons of machines and equipment so you’re not waiting around to get your workout done.

The current management is fantastic. The recently updated to all new machines without skipping a beat. Their staff is very friendly and happy to chat.

Everyone in the gym is friendly and considerate. No judgement.

5/5 for MY preferences. I wanted a low key but very affordable gym. I didn’t need anything aesthetically pleasing, I very much recommend a subtle atmosphere to grind. PLENTY of parking, 10/10 times I pull up to an open parking spot. The bathrooms and showers are clean and tidy, they have blow dryers and a sauna, indoor pool for my conditioning in the winter months. The free weight room has everything you need for legs, chest and arms as well as the equipment side. The upstairs is cardio with row machines as well. All in all for someone who gets in to put in work and just needs the basic necessities, NS is 20/10 more than enough and very satisfying. I highly recommend to students who are on a budget or those who just need a focused environment to grind. A bonus is the staff gives you your space and is very excited to receive questions and they make sure you have a full understanding of everything. I’m always greeted with a smile and always asked if I needed anything :)

I have tried out other NS gyms and this one definitely compares to the others. My first impression was that it was very industrial. The weight room lighting and equipment gave the vibe of many club gyms. After I walked around a little I saw there was a lot of equipment and options, from cardio to weightlifting to the basic machines. There are also other features like a pool and sauna so this gym really allows you to do any sort of style workout you prefer!

I've been going to NS Fit regularly for a year and a half and during that time I feel like the quality of the equipment and overall vibe have improved substantially. The gym recently acquired several hundred thousand dollars in new equipment and since then newer and better equipment have improved the quality of my workouts. I started a 7 day free Trial at NSFIT-Chico May 16,2022. My experience has been positive and I will be continuing my membership. The gym had a clean males locker room and sauna. The gym includes an house side area with a few tractor tires if you like the cross fit type training. They have a awesome weight room area. This area is good for bodybuilders or powerlifting. Note: I have yet to deadlift at the gym so I’m not 100% sure on how their policy is with heavy deadlifts. Gym was very quiet and organized. If you are new to training do not feel discouraged because everyone was nice and encouraging. The hot tub was working as well.

I joined this gym a few years back because I wanted to be in a more private environment working out. They had a few machines I liked. The problem was they had 1 of each so often they were the only ones being used or were broken. So I couldn't do what I wanted. I finally quit them when i checked in and they said i owed money. I said i paid. They said they needed some new chairs and that every so often they pick 3 or 4 customers to charge for new stuff. No one told me they did this. So I quit. They were gonna charge me an extra $100

I like this gym for the same reason most people give it a negative review. It doesnt have the spa-like amenities or the exclusive luxury vibe. It is a gym, its a little brash and rough around the edges but it still has all the equipment you will find at those other gyms. The gym is awsome. I signed up yesterday and the club manager was great. Yes I know its alittle run down but its $39 a month, and they are trying. I already love this place.
