I told them to cancel my membership and they said I had to do it on a specific day, I did exactly what they said and still got charged. I tried canceling when I got put on bed rest for pregnancy and they said they could put it on hold but then charged me $10 each month, then tried canceling because they dont allow babys less than 5 months in their day care, so I havent been able to even use my membership since having the baby and they say they will fix it and they dont. Its not even worth it. Go somewhere else. The gym is always packed with no equipment available anyways! Gah! Never again.

I only have two weeks experience with this gym. I have taken a tour, one Personal Training lesson, almost 2 full weeks of the HIIT class, two Pilates classes, and my daughter uses the kids club care during my classes. I do like the HIIT classes and Pilates so far. I am not in shape as I was formerly very sick and am getting my physical health back. The HIIT classes are helpful for first timers because they show how to use the equipment in the gym and you can keep up with the class while going at your own pace and pushing through. The kids club is most important as I would not be able to attend otherwise. My daughter has never attended daycare before she’s two and she does seem comfortable playing with the other kids and the gym care attendants. I do have another PT appointment coming up my first session was full body, illustrated how to use several different equipment stations, the correct form and was catered well to my skill level providing an affective full body routine to use on my own. I will continue with another month at this gym to gain experience and see how things progress.

Love this gym! The childcare is a huge plus — the staff is super sweet and my little one always has a great time, which lets me focus on my workout.

Will is an awesome HIIT instructor! His classes are high-energy, motivating, and always a good challenge. I actually look forward to them each week.

Rico was super helpful when I signed up — he made the membership process easy and answered all my questions.

I was interested in supplementing my lifts with some HIIT classes. The managers, Will and Derek, listened to my needs and concerns and guided me to membership that worked best for me. Carmen also added some great customer service which allowed them to get me enrolled on the app, registered in a few classes and set up with a private training session, in record time. I belong to another gym, but enjoy different atmospheres and meeting new people. I'm starting a new series of training tonight and I'm so excited for the change and another community to get fit with!

I’ve been a member at NS for almost 2 years now and I’m so impressed. I have tried every g in town and this is by far the best for multiple reasons. #1 childcare: when I was originally looking for gyms freshly postpartum I was terrified to leave my son with anyone and at NS you can peak over the childcare anytime you are worried but that faded fast when I realized how amazing the daycare staff is. #2 the equipment is all top of the line I am a hybrid athlete and I can make any workout happen here regardless what it is. #3 cleanest gym I’ve ever been to seriously the cleaning staff is always in and always working hard I’m always so impressed
#4 massage chairs😅 I love them post workout for recovery and to get 15 min baby free to clear my head #5 friendliest front desk staff always makes me feel welcome and happy to see me everyday and #6 high protein snacks and beverages I find myself getting something everyday so I can really have a 1 stop shop in the morning g and don’t have to stop at a gas station for an energy drink or protein they have it all !

I heard that this gym is sneaky and misleading with their charges. I should have listened, but I tried anyway. The gym is very nice and has a ton of equipment. However, I now understand how they pay for all that equipment! Haha! Before I signed up I spoke to the manager and told her exactly what contract I wanted and she told me exactly how much it would cost. When I signed up the price was confirmed again with the manager by the employee working with me. So I signed up and paid. Two days later my contract was canceled, without a refund, no call or explanation, just a very brief email stating that my acct was canceled. I called the manager to inquire and she basically said “sorry for ya,” if I wanted to sign up again it would 3x the original cost. I reached out to the regional manager (who I was only given an email, there is no phone number to contact above the stores) and explained everything. Again, his attitude was sorry for ya. In all of this, I was not offered a refund, only encourage to pay 3x the amount again, in addition to what I had paid. I had to ask the regional manager and then follow up with the store manager in order to get my refund. Honestly the whole thing was so shady and deceitful. Such a shame.

Been hitting this place for over 5 years. This is just a review for the early am employee at 5am. The early morning workout crew is about 10/20 people. We’ve been the same people for years. So we always get there about 440 am and they previous employees will always have the door open to get in a little early workout. This new employee will just sit the and sweep and stare at everyone sitting at the door and open at exactly 5am. I know this is the true time to open. But it has been a few months and every single customer complains every time. Must be a power trip. Almost considered finding another gym because of this.

I have going to this gym since it opened as FitRepublic. I recently canceled my membership, their staff assured me that there would no longer be any charged to my account as I put in the proper notice. However, that was incorrect. They continued to charge my account, and their solution to charging me cos t again, was I could work out for an extra month (that I had just paid due to their staff misinformation) or call the corporate office that doesn’t respond. If you go to this gym, know that when you need to cancel your membership it will it be easy. It’s truly a disappointing experience to leave NS Fit on these terms.

Made the mistake of not reading the contract before I signed it for the membership. I know, this is my bad, but they were incredibly ungracious about the mistake. I even spoke with the girl who signed me up for the membership (she didn’t mention that it was a year long contract when I signed up) and she refused to end my membership without a fee of $100 which is pretty steep. I am moving states and the cancellation fee is $100, I also have to provide them proof that I am moving, like a renters agreement. Honestly, I feel so disappointed because it’s a great gym but I would absolutely not recommend their company to anyone, especially someone who may not anticipate a life change like moving. Feels like they are more focused on money than people and people are what make a company great. Big bummer.

NS FIT is the USED CAR DEALERSHIP of Gyms. Their billing is EXTREMELY SHADY. I was a member there for a long time, when I canceled they continued to bill me for months before I caught it. When I tried to get the issue resolved they wouldn’t call me back, they wouldn’t show me any of the billing information from their side, and after several more months of them continuing to bill me even after I canceled they threw out a generic number, I think it was $150, which was way less then they over charged me for and it was months after that before I received a check. Though when I called to find out when I would receive my money it was always “the check is in the mail.” It was like a bad SNL skit dealing with them. They played it all off like no one in Redding has anything to do with billing. It was like dealing with shady used car salesmen.

Only sports club in Redding which I consider to be worthy of training at. They have hands down the best stair masters which are Matix brand and in excellent condition. They also have it divided quite well to where you can focus on a certain style lift with minimal distractions. They have a bunch of brand new fully adjustable ergonomic anchor points for resistance band training as well as a TRX tower where you can do the newest trends for hanging pushups and stretching and really anything. A bunch of XULT brand jump boxes which are easily modified to heifht and one of my favorites is their dip bar which anchors to a full tower system that is interconnected to other cable machines. The gym is always clean and well kept the people are friendly. Eric and M are the best! Also every week day they have child care from 8-12 and at 3:00 for a couple of hours

love this gym. more equipment than any of i have been to ever. i do have 1 complaint though. why does NS feel the need to blast our ears at 5am with horrible 80's music that wasn't even good back then?!!!!!!!! everyone who works out has their own headphones/music that gets drowned out by freakin debbie gibson and whitney houston. and if your working out with someone your stuck listening to it unless your good w sign language with your work out partner and noice canceling headset. i get having a little background music to cover up the heavy breathers/grunters and weight slammers but for the love of sanity please TURN IT DOWN!!!!. Signed up for annual membership and 8 months in moved 200 miles away. Every other gym membership I’ve ever had would make exceptions if you move away but not this place. I have had a horrible experience with the way the payment is set up here. When you first become a member you sign a contract with the form of payment and monthly amount that is due to sustain your membership. What they fail to mention is every month they can charge your account whatever they please. Almost every month a different amount was taken out and every time I asked they said it was due to a late payment. Which is weird since I have my account set up to auto pay. I 99.9% of the time always have funds in my account for bills such as subscriptions, so I find it hard to believe every single month I’ve had a late payment not to mention a different amount was charged each time. I’ve also had 4 out the 12 months out of the year where I was double charged. Apparently they can’t do anything about it, so therefore I do not feel comfortable going to a gym where my membership could range from $42-$125/mo depending on the mood they are in. Also their excuse is “ we sent out an email that we are now charging a credit/debit card fee “ which is not set up in the contract when I first signed up. Lastly Eric failed to mention he didn’t cancel my account when I asked and got charged again which they could not remove the balance for. I had to call 3 different times to cancel my account and at this point I am not sure if they still have or not.

Place is an absolute joke. Don’t waste your money. As soon as you sign a contract they will screw you over relentlessly. I tried to cancel my membership in December the “new guy” at the counter said I wouldn’t be charged anymore because my 12- month agreement was ending. I got charged for 3 months after without using the membership a single time. I went back inside got told I have to sign a 30 days notice of separation and that I would still be charged for the following month. I have talked to every single person from the very bottom all the way to every extension number they give you and nobody can help me whatsoever. The gym facility itself is pretty sub par and always busy. I will never give any NsFit another dime.

My experience with this gym was an absolute nightmare. I signed a contract in March 2023 with the understanding that I could cancel when I moved to Chico in May. However, they flat out refused to cancel my membership and instead transferred me to their Chico branch, forcing me to pay for 10 months of unused membership. Only when the Chico branch closed was I finally able to cancel. Avoid this gym at all costs – their contracts are predatory, and they have no regard for customer satisfaction.

This gym used to be better. First off, most members don't re-rack weights. How is it possible for multiple squat racks to not have a single plate on them. Or every bench press has weight loaded with no one insight. Another example Ill grab dumbells, and while I do my set, people will put their dumbbells where I grabbed mine from. Every time I walk over to the free weight area, most of the free weight benchs are missing.
Cardio machines that you strap into remain broken for months.
Out of all the new cable machines that they've added, only 3 actually get used and aren't a worse version of other machines in the gym. Been a couple of weeks since they added the rope machines, and I haven't seen a single person even touch them. The gym keeps investing in worse and worse equipment.
The machines that they've had for a while are missing their incremental 5lbs weights or the pin for the weight itself sometimes.
Staffs great. Cleanliness would be better if members actually used the spray bottles provided. Locker room is fairly clean for the most part, except for multiple lockers full of stuff without a lock for multiple days.

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. Lots of space, but most areas just simply look unfinished. On top of that, there’s lots of misinformation that staff members tell you when you sign up, such as you can pay a fee to cancel a contract early, but this is apparently not true. The only way you can cancel early is if you die (what the woman told me) or get a note from a Dr saying you can no longer make it to the gym. While I understand it is important to honor contracts, life happens and this is way too strict of a policy in my opinion. It seems to me they just need to trap people in order to keep members.I will not go here ever again.

I have been a member for almost 2 years at this gym. I used to love coming here as there was a lot of space, people rarely got in your way, it was clean, and equipment was always available.

It has been horrible for the past few months. This morning being the tipping point for me which is why i’m taking the time to leave this review. Weights are not being Re-racked. Just out in the middle of the floor, impossible to find when you need them for a set. This is also a huge tripping hazard. The floor around machines and just in general is filthy. Dust, hair, and debris all over my gym bag and anything else that touches the ground. Gross. There’s cockroaches crawling on the baseboards as well. No one is wiping down their equipment. The spray and towel table is always full, even with a busy gym.

I feel like expecting cleanliness and availability of equipment is a basic expectation of paying for a membership. I used to love it here. Disappointed.

Not only a beautiful gym, but they have caring and compassionate management too. I was going to purchase a day pass to work out with my dad who I was visiting after the loss of his wife. Now the gym is 5 stars for what it is and it's treated me well. It's a bargain commercial gym cant expect it to be to be filled with top of the line equipment. The equipment is built to last though the plates and bars are generic and stiff but it's a commercial gym its expected. It has a lot of space and equipment for the price. I'm a 6'3 370lb competitve strongman and I can easily get my work out here besides strongman specific exercises of course. Now because of the price theres a decent amount of members but I've never been in there to where it was so packed I couldn't get what I needed done you'll get annoyed because the plates don't get organized but for $25 a month who cares. My only complaint is that it needs some new cable attachments, not a lot of variety.

I have been a member at NS Fit since 2020. I’ve been to different gyms but I have never had such a great gym experience like this. The gym itself is huge. There’s plenty of space in between the equipment. You never feel like your squished right next to someone. There’s also a large quantity and variety of equipment. They also offer classes like spinning which are great. The staff is also super friendly and feels like a small community of gym-goers. The gym is clean and strives to keep it that way. I really enjoy NS Fit and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get into working out or for that person looking to switch gyms. Talk to Eric when you sign up. He is a great help! Lets not get too critical. I have been at this gym since it pre opened and just now left. The space is great. Lots of room, plenty of equipment. The equipment though can be a mess with weights all over the place, benches not straight and or bolted to the ground. The bathrooms are kinda a mess. The staff, you can tell are on minimum wage and don’t care too much. The new manager at the front is really the first one to actually greet me when I come in and or leave the entire time I was a member. The gym was actually a bit better kept before the ownership change and before they randomly raised the prices 3x what it was. It has become more of a planet fitness with young kids and people who are not that serious. And people complaining about the extra charge for cancellation. That is normal at almost all gyms as it is a 30 day notice which you sign a paper stating that when you join, but most people don’t read the print. Overall. Plenty of equipment, average staff, average price, average environment.

i enjoy being a member at this gym. The areas are open and clean with plenty of equipment i need to lift. the staff is friendly. they offer towels and spray bottles to clean prior to and after lifting, and also keep the bathrooms clean as well.

other gym members are polite and there aren't too many issues with sharing equipment or re-racking weights. people don't butt into your workouts and aren't rude.

i just wish it were twenty-four hours!

Not sure why my review was deleted but I’m putting it back up. This gym had my information from a gym they bought out so they started billing me. They took my money and when I called them out they said that would fix it. They never have returned my calls (I have called over ten times and left messages) or fixed anything.

My experience with the customer service pegs this as just another globo gym.

I moved from Redding to Washington last month. I tried to cancel my membership. The staff said everything was cancelled, they took a copy of my proof of move. They said I couldn't have the number to the back office to confirm that it was cancelled. February 21 my card was charged yet again. I am in Washington, and NSfit is unreachable. This is a predatory business. Don't join this mess.

NSFIT is the best gym I have been to in Redding, First it’s very spacious and has a lot of room for people to get their exercise done, next it also has tons of equipment such as free weights, machines, and cardio focused equipment. On top of that the staff welcomes me in everytime I walk in As well as sends their goodbyes everytime I walk out. If you want a gym that you can lift at free will, with lots of space, and a friendly environment this is Forsure the place!

I love this place. I've worked out here since they opened and couldn't be more happy. I would even go as far as to say this is my favorite gym of all time. This gym is so spacious and easy to go from one exercise to another without the hassel of having to wait for equipment to open up and they have a ton of cardio equipment. The staff including the trainers are amazing and always willing to help. I would also like to say that Chris who keeps the place super clean is terrific. I would absolutely recommend this gym to folks that like a friendly crowd.

Feb 3, 2021 and instead of complying with my request they stalled.
after signing on I then found out : If you leave within 6 months you have to pay $100 to cancel contract; If you leave after 6 month marker you pay $50.

I was out of town living in Arizona . For 4 months they took $29 like clock work sometime between the 8th and the 10th each month. Even if I blocked this merchant they have still been able to take the money. I have not been using the facility.

Contracts make it legal to steal someone's money when a cancelation warning was not spoken about the day of signing? Then, finally, a copy of the contract was sent to me 2 months later. I did not know there was a contract; here was not mention of it Jan 7, 2021.

Beware of gyms that elude the truth. Plus make sure the gym is using your fees appropriately. This gym over schedules employees that stand around twiddling their thumbs and flaunting their figures.

Its all about there appearances and not substance NS Fit...Owner is all about being like the Joneses

The gym is very welcoming and your not on top of each other when working out. My trainer Jeff is awesome he always pushes me and leaves me feeling great and more confident when I leave ! I have lower back issues and he customizes my workouts to help strengthen my weak areas. Highly recommend this gym and especially Jeff as a trainer if you need help navigating the gym or really pushing yourself.

I’ve never left a review anywhere but they did me so dirty here I feel it’s my obligation to let people know. This in no way reflects the staff as they are super nice, I just think maybe the management is horrible. I loved this gym initially but they change ownership way too often which results in lots of confusion. They wouldn’t let me cancel my membership unless I paid almost $300 worth of “charges” I accrued during the pandemic while the gym wasn’t even open. So I’m still being charged every month. They threatened collections and gave me a number to call to dispute but when I called no one answered. 🤷🏼‍♀️

If you’re looking for a place to only utilize the equipment and weights this gym is fine. If you’re looking for anything more, I would recommend going elsewhere. I was a member here for over 2 years. During that time we were promised many things that never happened. Even the website description for the offerings in Redding is wrong.

They raised prices around 9 months ago claiming they were going to have more classes and new technology. These things still haven’t happened, yet prices are still sky high.

The final straw for me was when a local college wrestling team moved into the group-classroom. They take up half of the space and block the group-class from accessing equipment. From what I can tell the wrestling team is there every night through the evening class times. We are paying a premium for this class and this is how we were treated. Anthony, who is in charge at NSFit, did not notify any of the trainers that this was going to happen and he avoided communication with me and others about this issue.

A few weeks ago when I tried to cancel my membership I was told I had an annual contract and couldn’t cancel without penalty. This was a surprise because I had been in a month-to-month for over a year. I later found out my contract was changed when I started paying more for the group classes. I was never told they were signing me up for an annual contract. Nothing verbally or in writing. I never even signed anything! The front desk person texted me a code that I read back to her. Apparently, this code acted as a digital signature. Again, I was not told the reason for the code or what was happening to my membership.

Finally things got resolved and I am free of this place. Bottom line, management does not listen to their members, has mislead customers about what they are paying for, and don’t put forth a visible effort to improve their business.

Go elsewhere.

Terrible business policies. My kid signed up last year, and then had to move away from Redding due to the pandemic. Didn't cancel the membership, was charged many months of dues. They even charged dues when their business was shut down entirely!! Tried to cancel last month, and they refused to cancel unless done so in person. Incurred more dues and now late charges. Called to cancel my membership after they increased my monthly rate without notifying me, and was told I had to go in person, even during Covid. The employee was extremely rude on the phone. Got in my car and drove down to cancel, I was shocked to see that they were not following any health guidelines. None of the employees were wearing masks, or cleaning surfaces after people were touching them. I was asked to sign their iPad which was not cleaned prior to having me sign. I was shocked to see their blatant disregard for public health and their lack of care for their members.

Its not a bad gym. Its very open and there is. Alot of space to get your workout in but they do not take care of their equipment. Its only been open for awhile now but some of the bolts on the machines are coming loose and a lot of them need to be oiled and kept up with. I also do not see a lot of cleaning going on from the staff. I have been there since they opened in October and it is a decent gym with great equipment but wish that they would maintain their stuff and keep them running smoothly. It seems that they will only do something when one of their machines starts to not work properly. Other than that the gym is good but could be even better and the price is right.

Ive tried for months to cancel my account, before they change owners the prices tripled from what I was signed on for. Canceled my membership before the new company took over. Then i got a call from collections saying I owed them $160 in late fees. This of course was at thier new rates that I never agreed to. Called and told them to remove me from thier records and to drop the debt from collections. Good luck dealing with these guys. So I get an a-mail saying they are going to suspend billing during the pandemic That’s great. I notice charges on my account so I call and they say they are open. I work from 7am-5pm and do to covid I’m still working from home. When I asked the gym about the charges and that I needed to cancel the membership because we are still in the middle of a pandemic. I was told that they need a notice to cancel and that they were going to charge my card again. I enjoyed going to this gym and use to go on friends membership before becoming a member.
