Scummy practices. I went to the gym in person to ask about canceling my membership, only to be told I could cancel it online. After trying to cancel it online and not finding the option, I called, only to be told I had to come to the gym in person to cancel my membership. I don't appreciate the runaround and business practice of banking on someone being too busy or lazy to go in person to cancel their membership. Avoid the hassle, and avoid this place.

UPDATE: I signed up for the month-to-month membership and understood the terms that I needed to provide at least 30 days notice to avoid being charged the next month. Now, I am being told I had only used 1 out of 3 months when I was not even made aware I was signing up for a 3-month minimum. READ THE FINE PRINT OF THE CONTRACT, or better yet, avoid using this gym altogether. There are much more reputable gyms that deserve your membership.

It has all the machines that you could want and there are not many people at a time so you are able to use whatever you need whenever you need it. There are also extremely affordable plans. I’ve been to several gyms in town but they were either dirty with old, worn out equipment or depressingly empty and lifeless. I’m older but I don’t want to be in a gym that caters to seniors (no offense) but I also don’t want to be surrounded by youngsters who are loud distracting. I’m so glad I found NS Fit! I love how huge it is, how all the equipment, which is clean, like new and in top condition, is spread out giving members plenty of room to move and breathe. I never have to wait to use a treadmill. Members always replace their weights, everyone is cool, especially the staff. I often feel awkward when I try out a new gym but not here, at NS Fit I felt like I belonged here from the first day. !!

This gym is nice it smells great. They have a variety of gym equipment, you’ll be waiting for a machine if it’s being used because they only have one of each type of equipment. The bathrooms are really well kept and look basically new. Showers are super clean and have soap even in the showers. They have skimpy curtains but they do the job and keep you covered. The lockers are plenty and never in use. The staff is hit or miss, all the girls are super friendly and helpful, I say this because I had to get on of them to cut my lock because I locked my key. The guy that’s usually there looks like he might be Hispanic/caucasian mix with brunette hair kinda chunky, didn’t know what he was doing and wasted 20 minutes of my time trying to get me signed up, after failing he went to get the bald man and he came back saying he just went to lunch ironically making me wait exactly 50 minutes. So after about an hour and 10 minutes I was finally signed up and the bald man helped me get set up with the app. As infuriating as there incompetence and lack of knowledge was. I’d say it was not worth the wait I only stayed with the gym 3 months and visited maybe 4 times per month, seeing them really annoyed me and I can’t believe they couldn’t find more competent and friendly staff. I would say those two were shady, and petty. I’m cancelling my membership and getting an INSHAPE diamond membership again.

I’ve been going to this gym for two and a half years. Very friendly staff, very helpful with payments. They make you feel like you are a part of this tight knit family. It is a smaller gym, but I have never once had to wait for equipment in two and a half years! I actually enjoy the size, feels more inclusive. BEWARE OF TRYING TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP!!!
I moved to fair oaks, and canceled the membership because the Carmichael location closed. There's no justifiable reason for me to go to Natomas just to work out, which is where the closest location was. Long story short, my membership was never canceled, and was still being charged. I filed a dispute with my bank, and after numerous phone calls and emails to corporate and this location, across a span of about 5 months they threatened to take me to collections. I kept getting the run around and finally, the manager called her boss, who told her to call his boss I guess, and instead of hearing my side of the story, just told her that I owe money and if I paid a portion then I wouldn't be taken to collections.
I paid in the end because no one could give me a solid answer, and ruining my credit score isn't worth it. I'll post copies of the emails I have later on, but one thing I don't know if I can post is a saved voicemail where a rep from woodland claimed that she couldn't do anything with my account because it was a "corporate account".

This gym is a glorified scam. I signed up for a year when I was living in California, and then when I tried to cancel my membership after I moved to NY, the bs began. I called 10 times to cancel my membership and I was continually told I would have to wait for the "manager" to call me back to cancel it.
They continued to charge me monthly for 8 months until I had to call my bank to block the charges.
Then they had the audacity to leave me numerous voicemails telling me a had a balance due. I hadn't set foot there in 8 months!
It's been a year now that this place still haunts me. They sent me to collections for the membership fees I should have never been charged in the first place.
Do NOT go here. Cheap but no worth it.
A year I even haven't lived in the state. A YEAR!
Update: They're now claiming I owe them almost $450, AND my credit score has gone down almost 30 points as a result of unjustly being sent to collections for a debt I do not owe.

In general - love this gym. Unfortunately it turns into a daycare almost at times. They need to work on their child policy because there are kids playing on the equipment at times during peak hours. Watched a kid for 15 minutes just play around on the dip machine with people clearly waiting.

Its clean and nice equipment, and the movie room is awesome. However, the fans are placed in the least useful places imaginable. Where people are running and sweating the air is completely still and you feel like your on fire. But over the weight benches where people are working for 10-30 seconds at a time there is an industrial super fan. Great work guys. Also They have an awesome circuit weight machine loop, however the rules aren't clear so people just sit on the machines or just stay on one the entire time so you can never quite get your full body work out. Even a friendly reminder that there are similar machines across the room you can take your time at and not bother people could probably make a big difference. But none of the staff seem to care. Its just a great idea with poor execution. This earns them 3 stars.

They were an great inexpensive gym. Till they decide to cancel all the classes and be sneaky about it. They told us on May 1st (in class) that the last class was going to be on May 6 (following Saturday) . They didn't even give us a week notice. Some people only go to that gym for those classes. If we would been told sooner about the classes being canceled we could of avoided the charge but they were being sneaky and waited till the the first day of the month. When they know we cant do anything about it because we already got charged. They handle these situation very poorly and had awful customer service when confronted about it. They just pushed us aside like we meant nothing to them.

I just started a membership today. Referred by a friend. It's down the street from my work. The staff seem friendly and helpful. The place wasn't too packed. They have a few dozen cardio machines (elliptical, etc), free-weights, typical gym machines, squat racks, a class area in the back, and some kind of massage machines in some small rooms.

Drawbacks: no gym towels provided for showering. One of the showerheads isn't maintained properly (loose screws). No gym-provided/rental combo locks for the lockers.

Everything was going well the equipment is good and the environment was good as well, The problem is the staff makes false promises only to get people to sign up me and my wife both left our old gyms for fitness evolution because we thought it would be better but it's only been a disappointment ever since. When I signed us up they PROMISED that the annual fee would not fall under the same month for both so that it wouldn't be such a large fee, Guess what I paid today? Yup $125 dollars and when I asked them about it all they said was "It's out of our hands" and gave me corporates number which by the way they don't even answer this gym has been horrible I suggest not even signing up and paying the extra $10 over at the other gyms in town
