I took a Foundations level class with Alli. She was so fun and really hyped all us newbies up. I felt so comfortable and supported by her and the class itself. I definitely will be back 😁
I have continued taking classes here for about 6 months now and I love the teachers and community at this studio. I have grown so much and felt more confident along the way. I absolutely love Active Flex with Shredder, Siren Song with Caitlin, and Inversions with Ainsley. I make these classes a priority every week.
Thanks for creating such a welcoming space.

This is where I started my pole journey nearly 3 years ago! I have a special place in my heart for this studio. I hadn’t actually had the chance to see the newer second studio next door until tonight! I took a Laybacks specialty class with Atenea and it was everything I needed. She’s a really incredible instructor and has such a clear, engaging way of breaking down even the most intimidating movements. I really appreciate her positive, supportive attitude and her years of expertise!

Review for ROX – An Exceptional Front Desk Manager!!!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting ROX during her time as a front desk manager at Oakland pole and dance, and I can 100% say she went above and beyond in her role. From the very beginning, she was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist with any questions or concerns I had.
What I love about ROX is her genuine care for people. Over time, she became more than just the front desk manager; she became a friend. She is professional, kind, and pay attention to details.

Love everything about OP&D! The instructors are incredible and the environment is so supportive. I also want to acknowledge Front Desk Manager Rox for all the consistent help with rentals, purchases, booking questions, and generally being a great resource to all students!

I love the classes and instructors here and the studio rooms are beautiful! There is a wide selection in class types and lots of instructors to try. Pricing here is a bit steep compared to other studios in the area though (e.g. $400/month unlimited membership here vs. $200/month elsewhere) and I will likely change studios for that reason.

I’ve been going here for months now and I love how structured the classes are (especially the tricks classes)
Taken classes with so many instructors including Maddy, Angel, Anne, Amy, Karina, Zahra and I’ve always had an excellent time in class. Variations are provided for different strengths, body types, capacities which I appreciate. Teachers do go around to spot you if needed or to remind you what body part goes where 😅
My pole skills and my strength have improved coming here and I can’t wait to take more classes
Super clean. Mats are provided. Extra grip if needed. Tripods to record.

I had such a blast in Georgina’s beginner class. I didn’t know anyone and am really not a dancer. I exercise a lot but don’t have that much control over the small kinds of movements that make a dancing sequence look seamless. Georgina’s beginner class was chock full of amazingly specific verbal cues about how to tilt your pelvis or which parts of your body to make touch the pole for a body roll to look fluid. These are the kind of small changes that someone without any experience dancing can’t catch themselves and for which an excellently attentive and clear instructor is required.
And more importantly, she made for such a fun, collegial, and low key atmosphere that the space felt really warm and safe. She’s truly so encouraging and brings such vibrant and invigorating energy to the class that I felt pumped up to give everything a go. I was pretty nervous to give dancing a try but the space felt really rich with community.

The studio is really cool and welcoming. I loved the music and Ray's class had a great progression from warmup to some really fun routines/flows (even as a total beginner). Thanks for the great class, Ray!

This is the place where my pole journey started last year! So many good things to say about this place and I don't know where to start-- the structure of the classes make it really easy to join regardless of what level you are/where you are in your pole journey. They create such a safe space for you be able to express yourself, and has helped me break out of awkward shell. The community is super supportive of each other and it's nice to see so many different faces/personalities show up to to these classes.
Also, all the instructors are UHMAZING!! The instructors I've been working the most with are Angel, Summer and Karina (but honestly all the instructors are great, these are just the ones that had classes that worked best with my schedule). Angel does a great job at really focusing on technique and is my go to instructor when I want to work on improving tricks/foundational skills. Summer's heels classes have started to be my favorite Saturday afternoon activity and I always feel super comfortable in her classes-- I wish I tried her classes earlier! Karina is an instructor holds a special place in my heart-- she was the first instructor I took a class with and I've been coming back to regularly ever since. You can tell she genuinely cares a lot about her students and is always so open to helping out in any way she can (she helped me find my first pair of heels!).
Overall, if you're on the fence about whether to try out pole, stop thinking and just sign up for a class!! You won't regret it!

I have been going to Oakland Pole and Dance for over a year now. The space is so inviting and I can see they make effort to enhance the studio weather that be new equipment, more poles, or adding more classes. They really take their students feedback and consistently asked for it. All of my amazing experiences with OPD have been due to the amazing instructors. Karina, Roz, Autumn, and Fifi have made my pole journey fun, challenging and rewarding. I can not speak highly enough of these instructors!!

I've been going to this studio since April 2022 and love it! I usually take classes with Fifi and appreciate how personable she is - I've learned so much through training with her. Everyone that works at the studio is kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a pole studio!

I love this studio so much, it always feels like a safe place to dance and let loose. I’ve been going to Fifi’s classes for months and get so excited to see what creative options she comes up with for class. She is truly an amazing teacher and cares deeply not only about the safety of her students but also the joy they experience in her class. Her level three non inversion class is a favorite of mine and I can’t wait to take it again.

The studio itself was wonderful, high quality stuff. The class was okay, it moved quiet fast and sporadically, wasn’t very methodical. Pole dancing is harddddd. But I felt confident in the room full of other women feeling sexy ♥️

I've been attending classes at Oakland Pole + Dance on and off for a few months now and love that they have a wide range of class options and teaching styles. I've taken a few different types of classes: Pole Foundations, Pole L1.5, Heels Choreography (beg/int), and Pole Inversions Conditioning. The studio is a clean and open space, and the community is warm and welcoming to folks of all backgrounds. Specifically, I want to shout out all the instructors who I've taken classes from so far who have taught me so much - Mae Mae, Fifi, Rhiannon, Lucy, Alexis, Keeva, Karina, Anne, and my first Oakland Pole + Dance teacher Tia!

I’m very new to this and was looking for a studio where I felt welcomed- instructor Mae Mae not only greeted me with open arms but also taught heels choreography with such finesse I picked up the routine seamlessly. Mae Mae simplified each 8 count with relatable references (sailor moon anyone?) that all novice dancers can feel sexy and confident with their craft in no time! There was also seasoned dancers taking Mae Mae’s class who acquired new skill sets from her class- she’s that amazing! I will be booking more classes with Mae Mae every chance I get! I also love how the studio is gender neutral and provides a safe and creative outlet for all- they offer sooooo many classes in all aspects of pole dance ranging from beginners to advance! Making new friends from just one class was just the icing on the cake for me. Oakland Pole + Dance has gained a loyal client and I’m excited to develop my craft in this studio 🤗

I am a pole instructor at Rise Pole Fitness and this was my first time taking a class with the Pole and Dance company! I specifically went to Mae Mae’s Beg/Int Heels Choreo class at the Oakland studio! She had such a kind welcome with all of us introducing ourselves and a great slinky warm up that got us all in the mood to do our lil dancey dance. The choreo was challenging and felt like a solid intermediate class! She kept the pacing just right and knew when to spend more time focusing on a specific technique based on how students were responding. I left class feeling sexy, like I had a good workout and with new tricks up my sleeve. A+!

This is a bigger space than the one in Berkeley so it has the most range when it comes to classes. Very clean, neat studio and it seems like most if not all of the staff is on the same wavelength regarding sense of community and core values, I have had only pleasant experiences interacting with everyone. Cannot recommend enough if you’re someone like me, looking to move your body and hold space for yourself.

I took the plunge and honestly its been one of the best decisions I've ever made! I took a pole foundations class and was instantly hooked: keep in mind, I haven't exercised for literal years and I felt capable, strong, sexy, and supported! I've since bought a membership and have been welcomed warmly every time I show up for class. The community here is wonderful, inclusive, and welcoming. I feel like I've really found hobby/sport- compete with a beautiful community- that I can be a part of. THANK YOU Oak P&D, and I'll see you tomorrow! (Review copied from the one I left on Yelp)

I’ve been going to this studio for 4 months and I absolutely love it. The instructors emphasize proper technique which is wonderful. I performed in the studios showcase after participating in the 5 week Lyra series. Being a member at Oakland Pole and Dance has increased my strength, pushed me as an athlete and increased my sexy!! I practice regularly with Nate and Kissy. I would highly recommend them.

I just visited Oakland Pole & Dance for the first time this past Saturday. What a cute, warm space! Very nice set up.
I was there to work on my handstands with Elizabeth Blanchard, and she was great! Even though I feel like a complete beginner, she is REALLY good at talking to me at the level I'm at. For those of you prone to over thinking things, I am totes guilty of that, Liz is great at helping you push past analysis paralysis.

Such a beautiful space with a wide range of instructors and classes! I drive just over an hour to take classes here and it's definitely worth it. Classes are an hour and 15 mins, and anything over an hour makes a difference because of warm up and cool down time. The pole space is absolutely beautiful with nice floors, good lighting, and tall poles. A lot of classes are mixed level and the instructors do a great job catering to the range of skill levels that happen to be in the class while staying engaged with each student. I have taken classes with Yoko, Elizabeth, Tiffany Rose, Aurora, Katie, and Alexandria and will continue to buy class packs to come back and continue to learn. Thanks Oakland Pole and Dance for having a wonderful and welcoming environment!

Oakland Pole and Dance is an amazing place filled with amazing teachers and it's not just for pole dancing either, there's a bunch of aerial, conditioning, and flexibility classes too and their constantly adding more. The building is secure and Carissa is always there to either let you in, answer your questions, or gently move along people outside trying to watch what going on (the windows facing the street have a frosted banner going a cross the middle but extra people stay trying to bend down and peek under). What I really love about OP&D is that Amy, the owner, is heavily involved and not does she teach classes but she also takes classes with other teachers so I had the opportunity to take a class with her and she's so cool and down to earth and awesome. Kissy teaches intro to Lyra on Thursday's and Victoria teaches Pole Foundations and Sexy Choreo on Friday's and both are phenomenal teachers who always bring the energy, new lessons/skills/choreo, and make everything so accessible no matter what your skill set or background.

This studio is very beautiful, always clean, and the instructors are exceptionally skilled and meet you where you are at and also challenge you to build your skills. I especially love taking Victoria's class every Friday, her choreo always keeps me growing and learning as it combines fast and slow movements with interesting song choices. I started coming to this studio just to take Victoria's classes, definitely come to OPD if you are considering it! It's the best pole studio in Oakland for sure!

I’ve taken aerial classes at different studios/circus schools for a while, and I feel this one is the most non-judging and welcoming space. Other places are cool too and have their own artsy twists or nonchalant vibe, but here one can feel empowered because of the positive energy among the students and the encouraging instructors. Julia who teaches Lyra is one of the most patient and encouraging instructors, who always takes time to break down the steps for the students. One thing that I really appreciate about her is that she designs her course to accommodate different levels so everyone will get something new to practice.

And, I'm always amazed by how welcoming and encouraging each instructor is to every student, regardless of skill level. I've taken classes with Yoko, Aurora, Allison, Amy, Karrie, and Elizabeth and I have nothing but great things to say about all of them.
