Sarah is an excellent trainer. I learned a lot from her as a customer and as someone who was learning to become a trainer. She has great knowledge and experience. She helped me reach my fitness goals. I highly recommend working with her.

I first trained with Sarah at the old 24 Hour Fitness on Market Street, where her mix of expertise, empathy, and humor made every workout feel personal. When the pandemic forced that gym to close and I had to relocate to Southern California to care for my grandparents, our weekly sessions on Zoom supplied me with the physical and mental strength to endure.

Now she’s created OBGYM in Millsmont, Oakland—a welcoming space offering women’s fitness at every stage of life: prenatal, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Sarah is more than a trainer; she’s a grounding force who models strength, self-reliance, and joy in movement. She builds not just stronger bodies, but stronger human beings… and now: stronger WOMEN. 💪

During Covid, my sister and I took A classes from Sarah over Zoom she was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We were in our 70s and she knew exactly which areas to focus on even guide us with healthy eating tips. The classes were fun, engaging and perfectly paced. We could tell she gave her all in every session and my husband was thrilled with the results. We truly enjoyed the experience

I’ve worked with Sarah off and on through multiple stages of life — pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, postpartum and now during perimenopause — and I can honestly say she’s incredible. She’s not only extremely knowledgeable about fitness and women’s health, but also so patient and attentive to what your body needs in every phase.

I’ve never been someone who enjoys working out (hence the off and on) but somehow she makes it fun, encouraging, and completely doable. I always finish a session strong and proud; never sore to the point of misery the next day.

I can’t recommend her enough, especially for anyone looking for a trainer who really understands women’s bodies through all stages of life. ❤️

I was always a “bigger” child and I carried that weight (and then some) into adulthood. When I was really ready for a change I signed on with Sarah. She provided physical training and nutrition counseling techniques that I still use till this day. One of the things I love about Sarah is that her focus is treating the whole person. 10/10 Highly Recommended!!!

Sarah was my trainer for 5 years.. I started training at 66 with no prior experience, in fact, as a total non-athlete. Sarah was wonderful, patient and warm, and by the time I left (only because I moved away) I was way stronger, balanced, in great shape and looked better than ever. She is totally aware of how to train different bodies at different phases in a woman’s life. If you have the chance to work with her, you should gift yourself with it, she’s the best!

Sarah is an excellent trainer. I worked with Sarah after a knee injury up through my first trimester of pregnancy. The workouts were fun, customized to my abilities, and I always felt energized and proud of myself after each workout. She made sure I had all the exercises so that I could replicate the workouts at home. She even gave me meal planning advice. When I got pregnant, I wanted to stop working out but Sarah encouraged me to continue at a pace that was safe for me and the baby. Definitely hit up Sarah at ObGym, you will love training with her!
