Danny at OC Life Fitness is an awesome personal trainer. I decided to try personal training so that I could be more regimented about fitness and have access to someone who I could ask questions, and my experience with Danny so far has been nothing but great. He’s super quick to respond to questions over text, and in person he’s not only approachable but also brings a positive, motivating energy to every session. Most importantly, during workouts, he’s very attentive about proper form and technique, while making sure to tailor each session to how I’m feeling that day, making the workouts both effective and sustainable.
If you’re thinking about getting personal training, I highly recommend checking out Danny.

Danny is an excellent personal trainer. He is easy to communicate with during sessions, and even outside of them too via text. He is also good at recognizing cues of things like when I need a few minutes to rest, even before I do myself. I have had multiple trainers in the past but Danny has been the best one by far. Payment is also very reasonable, transparent, and easy to manage. His system for scheduling appointments is also flexible and easy to work with. I would confidently recommend Danny to anybody who is looking for a personal trainer!

Earlier this year, I decided to make a personal commitment to take my health + wellness more seriously and dedicate more time to creating a routine that I would look forward to in order to help me facilitate my fitness goals. I was fortunate enough to meet Danny who connected me to my trainer Claudine and I can't speak highly enough of both of them as well as their community. Danny is always very responsive to any of my questions or concerns and was very helpful in getting me started while Claudine always brings amazing positive energy to our sessions and has helped me grow both physically and mentally.
Over the past 8 months, I've not only grown to love lifting and celebrating my body through daily movement but have also had the opportunity to form new friendships with other clients and trainers at this gym. Working with Danny has been one of the best fitness experiences I’ve ever had! I come from a background of prior weightlifting, supplemental to sports. I worked out for years, but fell off of it during the pandemic, and was really struggling to get started back up. I found myself in a place where I was really unhappy with how my body felt, but also severely demotivated. Danny has always been super helpful and understanding, ever since our initial consultation, and I’ve made so much progress training with him. He helped me to find my motivation and joy in moving my body again, and (alongside diet changes, which he also helps you with) I’ve lost 10lbs in the 4 months that he’s been working with me. Danny will cater workouts to your body and style that feel approachable and doable, keeping a good eye on when you need breaks, while still encouraging you to push yourself and improve. He also never makes you feel embarrassed or guilty for anything. I genuinely enjoy my time working out and also chatting with him! He’s super chill, gentle, easy to get to know, and has great sense as a trainer. I always feel I am in great hands and well taken care of. I started this year with the goal of improving my overall strength, after reading how important it is (especially for women as we continue getting older). And through Danny, I found my personal trainer Queena, who has been absolutely fantastic. She has a deep understanding of all the different muscle groups, exactly which exercises (and proper forms) are required to target them, and formulating a rotation routine so no singular muscle group is overdeveloped. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve never enjoyed exercise, but after 7 months of training so far, I actually feel good after each session and have noticed a gradual improvement in my strength and energy levels! Queena strikes a great balance between making each session fun (introducing new exercises periodically), a bit more challenging (pushing my limits while still being mindful of my abilities), and encouraging (highlighting where I excel and where I can keep improving). Highly recommend for anyone who is seeking to improve strength and overall health!

I’d give 10 stars if I could. Danny has been tremendous since day 1! I had the simple goal of getting back in shape and having better energy levels. Danny took it a step further, and educated me on dietary recommendations/guidelines in addition to our scheduled workout sessions. I reached out to Danny not knowing where to start with a fitness journey. He asked questions, listened to my concerns, goals, etc. and provided a BMI assessment. He connected me with Claudine Castro for semi-personal training. I worked with Claudine for 6 months, and I loved it! My goal was to get stronger and educate myself on weight training, and I’ve certainly accomplished both goals through this journey. I'm really happy with my training experience through OC Life Fitness! I will say I came into training with the mindset of getting stronger and healthier and not being intimidated by the gym. As such, I don't have any dramatic before/after type photos that I track, and although my weight is pretty similar (maybe a couple pounds down), my body measurements and composition has changed (fat --> muscle) which I'm pretty happy about!
Danny is really flexible on the billing front which I appreciate - can easily pause when I have to travel for work or personal reasons. I train once a week with Claudine and I really enjoy it. She's really knowledgable, friendly, and culturally sensitive - for example, she understands the importance of eating culturally familiar foods and recommends how to tweak my diet to add important things like protein. I also find a lot of her clients are women, so I think it makes working out feel really safe and enjoyable.
I've been training since August 2023 and happy about the investment in my physical (and mental) health!

I've tried it all - diets, intermittent fasting, endless cardio, and so on. I've felt so defeated every time I didn't shed the weight off and I told myself that the very last thing I wanted to try before "giving up" on weight loss was personal training.
The very first time that I called in, Danny was prompt in replying all of my questions and I set up a personal training session with him later that week! Danny is professional, kind, informative, and helpful - he's also extremely quick to respond. I'm definitely a big question asker so anything that I asked regarding technique, equipment, stretching, or mobility, he definitely had the answers for.
NOTHING has shown me progress as fast and efficient as personal training did and it's all thanks to Danny! After a few months of personal training with Danny, I used my bluetooth scale at home and it showed me the HIGHEST muscle mass that I've ever reached in my entire lifetime. I was shocked because I never thought I could increase my muscle mass in such a quick amount of time and I owe it all to personal training. Additionally, I wanted to add that before personal training, I lacked confidence at the gym because I was scared of using the equipment wrong or having incorrect form while working out. With personal training, I was able to learn how to use the equipment confidently and knew exactly which exercises I wanted to complete, which helped boost my confidence whenever I hit the gym.
If you're hesitant on personal training, I highly suggest giving it a try! It's better to try than not at all. I was hesitant on hopping on the personal training bandwagon for many years, but I'm so glad that I did. Personal training has been life-changing and has only been a positive addition to my lifestyle. Danny is awesome!

I reached out to Danny because I was going to Bali and wanted to get my body in shape for the trip. Thanks to Danny, I was able to do a 3 hours hike up Mount Batur without any problem.
Prior to seeing Danny, I didn't exercise or lift any weights but Danny made everything simple and not intimidating.
He does train a few people at once but each person has a separate customized training program. It's never a problem and he is always nearby and keeping an eye out on you.
Training with Danny was the right decision. It's also easy to schedule with him since he's extremely flexible and accommodating to my crazy schedule.

I’ve been to several trainers over the years and Danny is one of the best. He understands the technical aspects of working out and proactively calls out how to make adjustments to avoid injury and improve workout efficiency. I work out 6 days a week and do high intensity training and weight lifting. Danny can spot out my weaknesses and focuses on where I can build strength. He is a good listener and adjusts the workout based on my needs and goals.

Danny is an all around amazing trainer and I would recommend him to people of all levels! I started using Danny to get in better shape for my wedding (as a true beginner to strength training), but loved the results so much that I kept it up. Now postpartum, Danny is helping me feel strong again. His workouts are diversified and are at a great pace. I trained with Danny after college when I started a job where I was sitting all day in front of a computer. I was lacking exercise, proper nutrition and motivation. I’m one of those people who has always played sports, and in general, tried to take care of myself. I worked out regularly on my own and eat clean/healthy the majority of the time (save the occasional margarita and Mexican food). After getting engaged in 2011 I was trying to take my fitness routine to the next level to try to break through the plateau my body had been in…enter Danny.
We’ve been training with Danny for six weeks now and are raving fans. In the first four weeks, I’ve lost almost 3% body fat and inches overall. My fiancé has lost almost 10 pounds and I’ve noticed a huge difference in his body composition.
As a trainer, Danny is the perfect fit. He knows just went to push you and when to back off. He is extremely flexible with his schedule and is always willing to accommodate my travel. No two workouts are the same and his “off day” cardio and meal plans are reasonable and easy to follow. With Danny I went from 235 to now 185 after 7 months. He has helped me not only in fitness but in motivation as well. The problem with today trainers is how to motivate their clients. Danny won't always be there, what you choose to eat, or how to workout. Danny teaches his clients how to workout on their own, and how to maintain what your goal weight. Start training with Danny if your not satisfied with your weight. Few months in and you will start shedding the pounds. I am glad i started to work with danny.

Danny is THE BEST. He is the first trainer I ever hired. Hiring a trainer in the past was scary because of the personalities I thought I would get or the shaming factor in a gym setting. I've worked out with Danny off and on over the years. During my first year with him, I ended up taking one of his only available slots at 7:30 AM. I wasn't exactly a morning person at the time, but working out with him MADE me a morning person. I've been able to keep the habit of jump-starting my day pretty regularly ever since.
During my time under Danny I learned the following:
- Proper form for even the simplest of workouts
- Bulking phase vs. cutting phase
- Effective resistance/cardio workouts that don't need to take more than 20 minutes
- How important diet is in getting the results you want
- What macros are and how to use MyFitnessPal
- What the hottest sneakers are :D
From a personality standpoint, Danny's not the type of trainer who will yell or be all up in your face. He's very zen-like in his approach and will make you feel at ease if you're new to the gym environment. If you're on the fence about getting a trainer, I'll just say that the knowledge you'll gain from a few workout sessions with Danny will be extremely beneficial in the long run. I've been able to take what I learned back then and apply it to my own exercise regimen to this day.

As an introvert, the idea of hiring a trainer and going to the gym was extremely scary but Danny has been AMAZING at making me feel comfortable. He is professional, knowledgeable, and customizes his training for each client based on their personality, age, goals, etc. After the first few weeks of training and making better nutritional choices, I lost 3% body fat! Danny kicks my butt every time. He’s knows how to do a very well rounded work out packed into an hour. He’s so good at his training that I wake up with fear every day I have an appointment with him, but I overcome my fear every time because I am seeing RESULTS!! Keep in mind, I only schedule him once a week for one hour, and then then rest of the week I don’t work out at all(sorry Danny I’m trying to change I swear) and yet somehow, my body is fitter than ever. My biceps are biceps-ing!!! I also have a bad right hip which limits some* of my work outs, but it rarely flares up and causes an issue. If it does cause an issue, Danny finds a solution/different work out that compensates it. He pushes you, but not too much where you’d hate working out and never want to go again. It’s a very packed hour of fitness. You might be wondering, why Danny? Why not the other trainer? Well, if you’re introverted and hate conversation, you will do great with him. Danny’s memory is like a goldfish. He will ask you the same questions about tv shows or life. All you really have to do is remember the same answers and you’ll never have to have conversational anxiety when working out. Awkward small talk is out the window. He’s helping me with my dieting too so I can control my food intake while seeing him. He also gives skincare tips and I trust him because his face is dewy and he’s Korean. Straight from the source!

Wanted to kickstart my fitness journey, and damn, was this the perfect place to do it. Found OC Life Fitness through Yelp, and it absolutely lived up to the stellar ratings. Got connected with Owner/trainer Danny, who invited me in for a body assessment/get to know you session. Prices were solid and scheduling was very flexible. He was able to tailor a great program to my capabilities and goals, both inside and outside of the gym (eating right is over half the battle!). When working out, Danny did a great job teaching me techniques, pushing me beyond what I thought my limits were (safely), and overall motivating me to hit the fitness grind hard. I trained with Danny and Claudine for 5 months to get in shape for my wedding. Thanks to these two awesome trainers, I saw more improvement than I expected and felt gorgeous in my wedding dress! When I first contacted Danny, he was so responsive and answered all my questions. Training with Danny was so easy to schedule and we're always 1 on 1. He taught me many exercises and correct form for each exercise with patience and kindness. I can see my improvement on my body and form every time I trained with him. Sessions with Claudine were usually with other one or two people. It was my first time to do heavy lifting and I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. But she made me love it! My wife and I wanted to get into a better shape for our wedding and we found Danny due to his high rating on yelp. The consultation Danny provided was very constructive. We wanted to be trained in a way it’s still fun and enjoyable and Danny gave us just that. He always gave us just right amount of pressure and encouragement. We have been training with Danny over a year now (even after the wedding) and it just became our routine to catch up with Danny as our friend and couch. We really enjoyed training with Danny. Having never trained or exercised before, I quickly realized bootcamp classes would not work for me. I decided I needed more specialized attention with someone who is more aware of my capabilities and current limitations. I did some research and decided to go with Danny from OC Life Fitness due to all the rave reviews. I specifically picked Danny because I had never consistently worked out before so it was important that my trainer didn't make me feel discouraged or I knew I'd probably quit. Danny was easy-going but he also gently pushed me to strive for more - this was exactly what I needed. He assessed me carefully during the first few classes to ensure he wasn't overdoing it and then eventually increased the intensity. I was able to learn proper forms and techniques and he also educated me on what I should be eating. What I really appreciated was that he never made me feel badly about eating poorly or failing to do better than I previously did. He would just tell me why he believed I wasn't seeing certain results when I relayed my concerns and would give me suggestions and try to motivate me. This was the only time in my life I consistently worked out and began to feel better about my lifestyle and health. Unfortunately, I had to stop once I became pregnant and have not been able to find the time to return to his classes, but I had planned on doing so once the baby got a little older. I would definitely recommend his services and hope to train with him again!

Danny was a professional and very friendly personal trainer and I genuinely enjoyed my weekly sessions with him. He asked me what I was looking to achieve on our first meet and walked me through pricing, scheduling, nutrition, etc. For someone who was not familiar with the personal training process he walked me through it all! I had previously worked with a PT that made me feel very uncomfortable and I felt like that PT was just interested in taking my money, but my experience with Danny was the exact opposite. He is super kind, generous, and understanding. He’s very helpful and responsive too when you have any questions. I highly recommend him as a PT as he is the best out there in the OC!!!!

Danny is the best trainer I have ever encountered!!! He is talented at what he does and he will get you to your goals! Every session I had I could feel myself get stronger and stronger. He knew my weak points and how to improve them. My workouts were always different and my body reacted so well to his training I lost 3% body fat in one month! He is worth every penny. I was interested in getting a personal trainer a year before my wedding and found Danny through his great yelp reviews. He was really quick to respond and I scheduled a consultation immediately. During our consultation Danny took the time to listen to my goals and what I was hoping to achieve from the sessions. Danny took my measurements before my first training session and carefully explained each of the measurements and redefined my goals in terms of the measurements.
I ended up training with Danny for a year and my body has been in the best shape it has ever been. Danny takes monthly measurements so it helps you see your progress each month.
Danny's pricing is very reasonable and he is very flexible in terms of scheduling. He trains 6 days a week and starts training as early as 6am or as late as 7pm, which makes it possible for me to get my 2 sessions/week in with my work schedule.
If you're on the fence about getting a personal trainer, I would definitely recommend Danny. Even if you have never lifted weights before (like me), Danny is patient and will correct your form.

I have been working out with Danny for two months now to prepared for my wedding next March. I normally live a pretty sedentary life and have wasted so much on years of gym membership. As frugal as I am, I decided to try personal training with Danny due to his excellent reviews. He gave me a quick rundown during our consultation. I decided to go with him, because he didn’t pressure me into signing with him on the spot. Also, there wasn’t some extensive long contract I needed to review since it is month to month. The workouts have been awesome since you are doing different exercises each session. Two months in, and I’m still seeing a few new exercises during my sessions. I came in wanting to lose fat in my trouble areas and Danny was more than willing to adjust the workouts catered to my concerns. Danny is a patient and sensitive trainer. Danny is one of those trainers that are too good to be true - but it's true! He's flexible with your schedule, he's on time, and he truly cares about helping you meet your goals.
