I began working with Alex and Mar three weeks ago. During the first week, I trained at a location they were temporarily renting. On my first day, I showed up to shadow and help out with the 5:00 and 6:00 AM boot camp classes, but I was not made aware that this training would be unpaid. I’ve never heard of that in a professional work environment, and I found it to be an unprofessional approach. That said, they had a great group of clients, and I appreciated the structure and quality of the workouts Alex designed.

In the second week, they relocated to a friend’s gym while searching for a more permanent space. However, during the third week, after teaching the two morning classes, I was informed that they were discontinuing in-person training for adults to focus on their children’s program and transition fully to a virtual format. As a result, I was told that I would no longer be needed for the evening classes I had been scheduled to teach or any classes moving forward.

My main frustration stems from the lack of communication and advance notice. I had not scheduled any of my own clients for that evening, despite a shortened work week due to upcoming travel, because I was under the impression I would be teaching. Additionally, I planned a weekend trip around being back in time for the following Monday’s responsibilities.

Given their experience in the fitness industry, I would have expected a greater level of professional courtesy and respect, especially considering the challenges of managing multiple clients and commitments as an independent trainer.

This gym has everything from community to athletic expertise. Best of all, this is locally owned so you know the attention and quality is tailored to deliver exceptional services from group workouts and 1:1 coaching. I love that a variety of services are offered from advanced workouts to even mobility classes. Recently, the gym has added some upgrades from a 2-person sauna to a cold plunge!!!! The gym only keeps getting better and better.

I’ve been a member at F2R for a month now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best fitness communities I’ve ever been a part of. The coaches here are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely care about each member’s progress. They push us to do our best while creating a motivating and supportive environment. What really sets this gym apart is the sense of community. It’s rare to find a place where both the staff and members are so supportive. Plus, having a sauna/cold plunge is a great bonus for recovery after workouts! If you’re looking for a gym where you feel motivated, supported, and challenged to be your best, I highly recommend F2R!

This is the most awesome gym. They have everything you need for whatever your workout style. I highly recommend the classes. They even have the cold plunge and low emf Sauna if you like to get your rocks off that way like i do.

It's a veteran owned gym, clean and well run. The staff is amazing and everything starts from the top. Everyone's super knowledgeable and happy to meet you where you're at. They don't want to just get you in, they want you to succeed. If you're looking for a great gym, some great classes, and an amazing community I wouldn't recommend any other gym, F2R Athletics is the place for you.

Teamwork truly makes the dream work at this place! I absolutely love the supportive atmosphere that encourages us to rely on each other's energy. It’s like a Mr. Miyagi-style mentorship, pushing us to grow and improve together. I felt incredibly motivated during the workout, and now I'm feeling the burn—but in a good way! I’m already looking forward to my next sessions, which I’ve scheduled. Highly recommend!

What an amazing dual!

Coach Mar and Coach Alex have been providing speed and agility training for our daughters Charlize (12), Chloe (7) and Cheyenne (5) this past year and we have had a great experience.

They are highly professional and knowledgeable, particularly in speed and agility training. Coach Mar and Coach Alex go above and beyond to enhance not only the physical performance of our daughters but also their understanding of the soccer game. They incorporate drills that combine speed and agility with soccer-specific scenarios to further refine on-field performance. Our daughters have thoroughly enjoyed working with their coaches and we have observed noticeable improvements in their knowledge, soccer performance, speed, and overall confidence.

Additionally, Coach Mar provides one on one mentorship for Charlize. This process has helped improve her mental toughness as she navigates recent changes to a new soccer team. Charlize has gravitated and looked to her feedback and guidance. This has been such a positive experience and has made such a difference in her mindset, attitude and focus.

The training at F2R, led by Coach Mar and Coach Alex, has been a valuable and enjoyable experience for our daughters, significantly boosting their soccer skills and confidence.

Thank you for all that you do! We truly appreciate it! :)

Fitness has been a priority for me for 25yrs and I've tried many gyms/programs. They offer instructor led classes and open gym to meet your needs, when you have a hectic schedule. This gym is a family that will hold you accountable and encourage you to reach your goals. I found this gym randomly one day when I was walking and decided to stop in and check it out. I was greeted by Marlyn, the manger/coach, who was super friendly and welcoming. She gave me some info on the gym and a few days later I bought 10 boot camp classes on Groupon. Before I had even finished all 10 classes, I had signed up for a full membership. I was looking for a gym community that was supportive and fun but also focused on improving at the same time, and I found it here at F2R. I am an avid gym goer and over the years come to find most gyms are just there to collect your money. I took two classes here. Personal Fitness training tailored to fitness level. Great for training for a Tough Mudder or a Spartan Race or Dekka! It seems to be moderate to intense, so pick this place if you want to improve quickly and aren't concerned about that. The space is kind of like a giant storage unit, well-ventilated and with a surprising amount of equipment packed in there. (All the equipment is kept very clean. It does have a bathroom.)

Alex, the lead trainer and owner at F2R prioritizes training clients in form and fundamentals, and also has researched some advanced and more esoteric techniques. (While I was there, Marlyn the second head trainer (I think) did a demonstration and discussion of cupping, a suction-based topical practice affecting skin, blood flow, and the muscles beneath).

Saturday, the gym has extra time focused on theory and strategy 8-9am, with lots of stretching and discussion. It's a learning session for in-depth answers to questions. The general expectation is that clients attend two or more weekday trainings (as early as 5:30 AM for y'all early birds out there) as well as Saturday 8-10am.

When I was there, Alex put an emphasis on training that was transferrable; he said that his main goal was for clients to gain fitness knowledge and skills they could take to any gym. I asked Alex about my training goals for rock climbing and distance running and he had solid pointers and tips tailored to my needs; I was super pleased with the discussion we had. It was not just him talking, he listened to what I had to say too. Alex uses competition between groups as a motivator. On Saturday we did several rounds of exercises in that format, which I found compelling. Other clients were helpful in checking my form and answering questions. All in all it was very fun and of course tiring 😂.

They have a three day free trial (over about four consecutive days you can come in up to 3 times for free.)

Fit2Ripped gym is an excellent place to get fit and healthy, and Alex, the owner, is a fantastic coach and trainer. The gym has a great selection of equipment, from free weights to cardio machines, and everything is always kept clean and in good condition.
But what really sets Fit2Ripped apart is the personalized attention that Alex gives to every member. He takes the time to understand your goals and fitness level, and then creates a customized workout plan that's tailored to your needs. He's always available to answer questions, offer encouragement, and make adjustments to your routine as needed.

I've been going to Fit2Ripped for a few weeks now. I'm pretty out of shape, and there's a lot of exercises that I simply cannot complete in my current shape, and there's not a moment that I don't feel included. The fitness is mostly class based, but the trainers provide modifications for the things I just can't do at the moment. They are kind and patient, and I really feel like I am getting a lot of attention.

They care about form and function. I believe this is a hugely important detail. They don't want you to get hurt. And that's pretty rad.

Finally, and probably the best... There's no contract. You're just given a link to sign up for a week to week subscription. If you need to pause or cancel, you just do so. It takes all the pressure out of signing up for a gym. The cost for the level of attention is definitely reasonable, and I believe it is 100% worth it. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for this kind of workout!

Ive been a member at a few group fitness gyms, and what sets fit2ripped apart are my reasons for staying:

-Variety: Workouts are crafted for each day. At 6 months into my membership, I haven’t repeated any workout, which has been helpful in keeping me from stagnating.

-Programming: The workouts are challenging, yet rewarding. I like that I can still hit my major lifts, but work them in different ways (different supersets, rep schemes etc), and in conjunction with other exercises or conditioning.

-Education: Technique/Mobility class dedicated to learning and improving upon new movements, lifts, or stretches.

-Good Vibes: Work hard and play harder. And that’s literal, we’ve played soccer and football as a gym on top of other fun events.

A great gym for not only an awesome workout, but also to learn how to correctly perform different exercises and stretches to take care of your body. They teach techniques to help you lift heavier than you think you could. I leave this gym every morning feeling more confident in myself than when I entered.

The atmosphere is cool and welcomes all levels of fitness so you can go at your pace. Its centrally located and not overcrowded like most gyms. If you are bored with a regular gym, or just need something more effective, they will definitely push you to be the best you can be! Great for military and those who like high intensity training!

Come ready to workout!!!!! Great workout program, friendly staff. You can either come to open gym and do your own workout, or attend one of the many classes offered throughout the week. The number one thing that sets this gym apart is that the staff will take time to teach proper lifting techniques. Saturdays’ at 8 am, a technique class is held where the main focus is proper stretching, proper form, and injury prevention. HGS!!!! Let’s goooo!!!!!

Listen, keeping it real with you...I'm old. My knees sometimes creak. I haven't been invested in my fitness in awhile, but going to Fit 2 Ripped gym has changed my perspective a lot. Alex is a personable human being, he's going to push you, but in a positive way. He pushes you to want more for yourself, he pushes you to find your drive, and he doesn't ignore you when you say, look, I'm old and I have creaky knees. He helps you find a routine that works for you.
Working out here, it doesn't feel like your typical gym, it's an atmosphere of comaraderie and support. Other members will cheer you on and support you, as well as the staff.
This gym was built by a real person for real people. If you're looking for a change in your lifestyle, for your health (physical and mental) come check out Fit 2 Ripped! Plus, guys, we all know my thing for Unicorns, the symbol here is a Unicorn!! Thus proving that Fit 2 Ripped promotes what's special about each of us. I'd give this gym 10 stars if I could, just because of the support I've gotten! Thanks Alex and team!!

Can't say enough great things about this gym! Alex is an awesome trainer, but more than that he's also a mentor who actually focuses on each member to help build up their strength. He designs his workouts to compound off each other so you never feel burnt out or repetitive. Some days are strength training, some crossfit style, and others endurance and conditioning. Even more important is Alex's attention to stretching before AND after each class - using bands, foam rollers, body weight - it's all a game changer if you want to truly increase your body's potential. Glad to be a part of this Gym/Culture/Family.

We were looking for a gym our daughter (11) could go to and receive some personal training mainly because of sports being cancelled this year but now its to augment what she is getting there. She started with Alex but has been with Erin for the last few months. The trainers here are absolutely amazing with her and walk her through all the workouts, making it easy for her to understand. Her strength and endurance has drastically increased and she is loving it.

I joined the gym shortly after our daughter did. I was hesitant at first because it looks like a crossfit gym and that's not really my thing. But after talking with Alex and going a few times that thought faded. I love going to this gym. The equipment is well maintained and the customers and staff are awesome. I haven't gone to a class yet but they are always packed and look like a ton of fun. I have noticed marked improvements in my strength and abilities.

I would recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to get out of the "traditional" gym setting and also not wanting a strict Crossfit gym.

WOW! Let me start by saying I am so proud to be a member of this gym! I have been a member for about 2 years now, but especially through this year of 2020 the owner Alex and staff have showed me how much they really care about their customers. Alex has constantly provided even through these crazy times, doing everything he can to keep us healthy and strong. From writing home workouts for us, to lending his equipment for us to workout at home with, to scheduling out times of the gym so that you can workout in small numbers. He has really gone above and beyond for the members of his gym!

The workouts are fun, always different, and always challenging you to be better than you were yesterday, no matter your level.
I like his mindset behind the workouts because they are great for strength and conditioning, yet we rarely get hurt or injured. Very balanced, and perfect for making you a beast!

Alex has created not just an awesome gym but an awesome family of gym goers that are here for each other, to workout together, inspire each other, and be there for each other during crazy times. You are not only getting a gym when you sign up at Fit 2 Ripped, but an awesome fit fam!

Awesome group workouts !!! I was in town visiting family and came with my brother to this gym and was so happy I did ! Everyone in the class made me feel very welcomed to be there and we got in a killer workout. Plenty of options for every level of fitness no matter where you are in your fitness journey, and everyone encourages each other like a team to push it to that next level. The space was also extremely clean and everyone withholds to proper cleaning procedures to ensure a safe and disinfected environment for you to get your swole on. I will definitely be returning here next time I am in San Diego. Thanks so much you guys!
