I love Open so much. Been going to yoga and fitness studios for 17 years in LA and this studio exceeds them all. Yes, parking is tricky and the studio is small, but it’s well worth it. The classes and transformative, the sound system is epic and the instructors are very experienced and care deeply about the students. I’ve been a member since day one over 2 years ago and have made amazing friendships, feel healthier in my body and mind than ever before. Very grateful for open and all of the wonderful people who pour so much into it every day.

Absolutely terrible experience. I was caught in a traffic accident and arrived literally one minute past the start time. Instead of understanding, the staff showed zero flexibility or empathy. To make matters worse, the studio is nearly impossible to find — no clear signage, no parking options, and no effort to make it easier for first-time visitors. In a city full of welcoming yoga studios that actually care about their clients, this one stands out for all the wrong reasons. If you value respect, professionalism, and basic customer service, go anywhere else.

the low ratings are bs!!! this is my favorite studio in LA - i will literally drive across town for it. the space is insanely gorgeous, warm, and inviting. the facilities are top notch. i've never taken a bad class here. i love open so much.
the only thing that could elevate the experience more is offering cold towels after class but the lack of this doesn't negatively impact the rating

My partner has been a regular at Open for a long time now. Morning sessions used to be led by Daphne, and the sessions were the best: lots of people, great energy, a fantastic start to the day. Suddenly, the instructor was replaced by Rebecca, and now barely anyone comes to the morning sessions. My partner also struggles but keeps coming just for the sake of maintaining the routine and schedule. When Daphne was substituting for Rebecca, the class was full again and, again, the class was fantastic. Nothing against Rebecca, but the change of instructor doesn’t make sense, neither for the clients nor for the business. Please bring Daphne back.

Attended my second class at open last night and it was not great; way over full capacity. I counted 38 people in the room. We were packed in like sardines. The person next to me’s mat was less than a foot away and they constantly sweat onto my mat. Gross. Their feet were also on my mat several times. Hair on the floor, did not feel clean whatsoever. This is very different from my experience here about a year ago.

Attended my first class at Open tonight and was sadly disappointed with the service from the front desk staff.
I went with a friend and we carpooled and arrived a few minutes early and the parking attendant told us to get two validation stickers since we’d be parked longer than the 90 minute validation (on a 75 min class). The person at the front desk would not accommodate us even though we both paid $36 for the class and if we’d driven separately would receive two validation tickets anyway. We were not greeted warmly, shown the studio, facilities or given any information on the space. I’ve been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years and am a 200 RYT and this sadly is not a space I would return to anytime soon.

I was on vacation and someone took my cc and I had to order new ccs. I admit I’m not the best at checking automatic sub charges but you should check check check yours.
I took a single class here in August, but I never downloaded the app, and I do not have it. Therefore, I don't have a subscription, and it doesn't show up as a subscription on my phone. Despite this, they keep trying to charge my card $20. There's no way to get in touch with anyone for assistance. I've emailed support multiple times, but no one has responded. Instead, I keep receiving automated emails saying they are unable to charge my card.
Additionally, they don’t allow users to remove outdated card information or delete any of their personal data from the site, giving users no control over their own information. This feels like a scam. Even if you’ve only taken one class with a friend, you should definitely check your card statements to make sure they aren’t continuously charging you, as there’s no one to contact for help.

SOMEONE IS DOING FRAUD - I received a $150 charge on my card… after taking a class pass class with them. Please make sure when you are filling the waiver, you read the full print. They might be taking basic information from your class pass account, and your waiver to charge you for more money.
Worst experience ever, if I could put no stars I would.

Best yoga studio I’ve been to - the aesthetics, lighting, sound quality, incorporation of sound healing, and each instructor better than the one before (somehow). They even take care of cleaning up at the end for you, it’s very high end feeling and my body is super happy each time I leave

I recently dropped into Open Studio for my first breathwork and sound bath class, and it was a game changer. This place is all about good vibes and self-discovery, right in the heart of Venice.
From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was stepping into a chill oasis. They’ve got everything set up for you — mats, blankets, and even eye pillows — so you can just kick back and focus on the experience. The instructors really know their stuff and create a welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to let go and dive deep.
The breathwork session was something else. It pushed me to connect with my breath in ways I didn’t expect, helping me release some serious tension. Then came the sound bath, which was pure magic. The waves of sound washed over me, creating this incredible sense of peace. I left feeling lighter and honestly like a better person.
And let’s not forget the tea at the end—such a nice touch! Sipping on herbal tea while reflecting on the experience was the perfect way to wrap things up.
If you’re looking for a spot to unwind and recharge, Open Studio is definitely worth checking out. I can’t wait to come back for another session and see what else they have to offer.

Discriminatory business. Conducting unlawful business. Imagine being a meditation business called Open and being the closest minded people? Let me explain here.
Yesterday, I experienced what I can only describe as discriminatory and unlawful behavior at a business that also engaged in profiling. Initially, they allowed me, a 41 years old queer man, into the class with my 2-year-old ADA service dog—a trained, perfectly calm chihuahua in her closed bag—who accompanies me everywhere, from Kundalini classes to Ram Das Foundation events. However, after settling in, a staff member approached me, instructing me to either leave or place my dog at the reception for the duration of the class. Having driven 45 minutes from East Hollywood, I reluctantly opted to leave my dog at the reception. Yet, when I tried this, I was subjected to a condescending lecture about « in America you know… blah blah » supposedly about laws and « in America » manners by the reception staff. Absolutely shocking.
As a French/North African green card holder, perhaps my accent prompted this staff member to impinge upon my civil rights and treat me differently—there’s simply no justifiable reason for such discrimination. It's not only unlawful but also morally wrong. I hope everyone at the desk that evening get to get a proper training, or just get fired for every single despicable action they took part of that day. Do not be clueless of the law. You are also exposing the company you are working with to get sued... it’s unfortunate.
Despite presenting my service dog’s documentation and explaining her tasks unasked, the three staff members present attempted to downplay the severity of the issue. They continuously interrupted me, sometimes the 3 of them speaking at the same time, raising their voice at me, refusing to acknowledge their discriminatory actions. I hope it makes them reflect deeply on their behavior, but as stated in other reviews, this place is about appearance more than anything else. Which is an aesthetically / instagramable success in that sense.
But Ironically, this place is named 'OPEN,' yet my experience was anything but welcoming, underscored by their staff's utter disregard for decency and legal compliance. After living in America for eight years, it’s both interesting and disheartening to still encounter such egregious behavior from a business sponsored by Erewhon (which is not surprising, but worth mentioning…). What happened is indicative of the transformation in Venice—a haven predominantly for white transplants.
In the end, they said they will refund my credit for the class but of course they did not. I also paid $5 for valet parking, only to witness a spectacle of hate and complacency by white staffers. I intend to report this incident to the authorities and would advise others who value dignity and non-discrimination to steer clear of this business, supporting instead those that truly respect and treat all individuals fairly, without engaging in illegal discrimination. They should really use their « mental detox class » to detox themselves. For now this place remains a sad farce.

The place is beyond beautiful, clean and well organized. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Actually I was planning to try the studio once during my holiday. But after taking Daphnes restore class I was more than keen for more. She is not only warm and sweet with each of her students, her teaching style, her playlists and her voice are just perfect.
Her flow classes left me sweaty, happy and energized, her breath and sound class got me into the deepest meditative state I’ve been in so far.
Did I join 5 classes in 3 days even though I was supposed to do sightseeing? Yes. Would I do it again? Hell yes!! 🧘🏼♀️🫶🏼

Beautiful, well-meaning, and yet misaligned. And mostly about appearances.
I attended a few flow classes because of the timing. I've had to adjust my expectations.
Let me put it in context:
I come from the Yogaworks community and was lucky to have attended classes with remarkable teachers. These teachers spent at least 20+ years studying movement, many from masters like Iyengar. They know how to link poses, how to bring in counterposes, and why the pose exists at all. It's choreographed. There's a thousand years of history in each movement. And we move together in at least 75% of the class.
Open Studio, at least in these Flow classes I've attended, seem to be about appearances more than substance. The studio is built by a local architect and is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for natural light from above. That said, there's a bottleneck at the lockers. The entry to the locker room is very narrow so attendees are forced to wait for people to grab their belonging before they can enter / exit because the locker doors make it impractical to exit. Big oversight.
The Flow class is a bigger issue for me, and maybe it's just the name. The Flow movements are anything but. It's a mixture of jumping, plyometrics, balancing movements, and some hint of Yoga. The movements don't really flow together at all and this is evidence by how much the students have to look around to see "where we are all at." It also prevents the class from ever feeling that sense of unity that arises from everyone being in sync. That is when the feeling of community truly arises. Hard to see it here, as the new generation is encouraged to freelance and do their own thing... so while you may be going through your vinyasa, the person next to you may be either totally confused or totally inverted and doing a strength pose as part of their own practice. This is all fine, but it creates a feeling of hyperindividualism at the cost of "moving in unison," something that is profound like praying in unison. Why call it flow then? It's like calling Agave Syrup healthy when it's basically the same as high fructose corn syrup, just with a new name.
The teacher seems confident in her mastery of these things, maybe because this generation is so worried about being inclusive that they won't call things out- or maybe they've never been exposed to the masters. Similar to how someone may hear Gwen Stefani sing "It's my life" and have no clue that it's a cover of a song written by an absolute genius named Mark Hollis, a perfectionist and uncompromising artist.
Kind of like Iyengar was.

Open has been the highlight of my summer! It’s everything I’ve dreamed of in a wellness studio- they offer 4 different types of classes: power (more workout focused), breathwork, restore (yin yoga), and flow yoga. Plus, they have a sauna and cold plunge. What more could you want?! The team is so helpful and kind, I always feel welcome at the studio. Each class is infused with some type of breathwork which adds a soul and spiritual component- something many studios in Venice lack! Grateful for this space and the Open community :)

The breathwork sessions at Open Studio are transformative — it’s a mix of guided meditation with deep and conscious breathing techniques that release tension and enhance focus. Led by skilled instructors, these sessions have been a game-changer for my stress management and overall well-being. I try to visit 2-3x a week and do a mix of breathwork, power, with their hot/cold contrast.

I’ll preface this by saying I was gifted credits for classes, but live in San Diego and covered my own travel expenses for the trip. I’ve practiced virtually with Open for a few years and attended classes at their pop up studio and have been eagerly awaiting this studio. I’m so happy to see the fruition of their goals with this gorgeous space. I attended four classes over two days. Breathe and Sound (x2) with Manoj & Lihi, Flow with Rebecca and Restore with Olivia. They spared no expense on the design of the studio and it’s unlike what you’ll find at chain yoga studios. In the breathwork classes where you’re lying down, the speakers reverberated and enhanced the experience. Rebecca’s flow class was challenging yet fun, with a dynamic dance break and Eestore with Olivia was soothing and I was surprised to see a 50/50 gender balance in the class. I can’t wait to visit again and wish we had this in San Diego. Congrats to the founders and the friendly team.

Recently went to my first in person class with my partner and had an absolutely amazing time!
The atmosphere at the studio is incredibly calming, the scents and energy you walk into beautifully set the tone for the overall experience! The unique studio style was a breath of fresh air in the health and wellness space.
We did a Move class with Daphne D. who has to be one of the most energizing and amazing instructors ever! As someone who tends to do more meditation and breath work and less active flow her class was great for a first time experience! It was easy to follow along, the flow felt perfect paired with the amazing speaker system, and overall incredibly fun! (You will work up a sweat!)
Overall the staff were beyond nice and welcoming and I look forward to attending many more sessions!
