I can confidently say that Orangetheory in Castro Valley and San Leandro is outstanding! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with incredible warmth and energy. Victoria, Alani, Juana, and the entire front desk team create an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Their smiles, encouragement, and remarkable ability to remember the details of your fitness journey are truly impressive.
The coaches here are top-notch. Matt, Francin, Stockton, Brandon, Johnathon, and Jewels each bring their unique expertise and personality. Yet, they all share a common goal: to help every member progress. They push you to hit that next splat point, provide essential form corrections, and celebrate your milestones, making every workout both challenging and enjoyable.
The energy in these studios is unmatched. With clean spaces, fantastic music, and an atmosphere that compels you to embrace your workouts, you'll find that it's more than just a gym — it's a vibrant community that supports you every step of the way.
If you're thinking about joining Orangetheory, Castro Valley and San Leandro are where you want to be. You won't just be signing up for workouts; you'll be joining a family that inspires you to reach your fullest potential.

it's been a while since I stepped foot inside a gym so it was a bit daunting when I first decided to join Orangetheory again! but im so glad i did and that cv otf is my home location! i used to go to OTF in downtown sj while I was in school. during that time i really enjoyed the concept of just locking in for an hr with someone guiding me through the entire time to ensure that i was doing each movement correctly.
so coming back to this program was honestly an easier transition for me- the coaches and staff here are also really nice/approachable. compared to some other gyms/programs otf def could be a bit pricier to some but i do think it's worth the price esp with the coaches/workout plans they guide you through on. if you're looking to check out a new gym/concept/want to try something different for your fitness journey id recommend stopping by to take a class to see for yourself!

I was given a free week membership through Walmart and a girl from this orangetheory called me and I started talking to her about my needs and then I told her I had get been given a free few days to try out and she said no I'm sorry we only do one day. So then I double-checked what I was given and I was given a week trial so I called her back and I spoke with her and told her that I have a week and she said no I'm sorry and she got defensive so I told her what is your name and she wouldn't give it to me and so then she hung up on me. So bad start in trying to bring members in she needs to be held accountable for bad service.

Best fitness membership of my life. The entire OTF team is super positive, supportive & so much fun to be around. It's changed my life. I never would have imagined that I would find a fitness program that I would look forward to, but this is it!

I was looking for a new workout routine and decided to try Orange Theory because I saw on their website that they offered a 30 day risk free guarantee. This is the exact statement from their website, "We know you will love your Orangetheory experience. In fact, just take 12 classes during your first 30 days and if you don't feel like you're living a more vibrant, happier, healthier life, take back all your money and walk away. The first class may be taken at no charge." I joined on June 11th and took a total of 12 classes. After the 12 classes, I didn't feel enough of a change to justify the cost. Therefore, I wanted to execute the risk free guarantee. This is where things went south. I emailed them and filled out the online form on July 10th (29 days after my first class). They responded two days later, so of course the 2nd month automatically charged my card but I wasn't too worried because I was expecting my money back under the risk free guarantee. Well the manager Andrea responded to my request. She stated that I did not qualify for the risk free guarantee because I only took 11 classes, she said the first class didn't count because that one was an introductory class. She said that she would do me a favor and refund the 2nd months charge instead of enforcing the 30 day cancellation notice that is required. She stated that the owner of this orange theory did not appreciate corporate advertising this risk free guarantee.
She refunded the 2nd month, but I never got my money back for the 1st month under the risk free guarantee. I escalated the situation to Victoria, the area manager. Here is her response:
Hello Andrew,
Thank you for reaching out to me, the thirty-day risk free guarantee is available at participating studios only. We do honor it at our locations when asked upon signup, unfortunately since this was not mentioned to our sales when you joined, they were not able to tell you the full rules of the risk free guarantee.
Since you did request to cancel within the first 30 days, we waived the 30 day cancellation notice and refunded your second payment. However, since you only completed 11 workouts within your first month of membership, I am unable to refund the first month.
Thank you for giving Orangetheory a try, we would love to see you again in the future.

Again, Victoria is stating that I only attended 11 classes. I attended a total of 12 classes. They are being stingy and not following through on their risk free guarantee promotion. This isn't a company that you should do business with. I'm sure they are great for a lot of people, but it wasn't right for me and it's not my fault that they advertise a promotion that some managers do not want to honor. Poor service from the manager at this location as well as the area manager.

Castro Valley is the studio where I did my first Orange Theory workout and had a great experience. The women at the front desk were helpful, friendly, and encouraging and the workout was AWESOME. I did two free classes per the special last month and then immediately signed up for a package. I am not a jogger/runner normally, but as of class 3, even I'm jogging on the treadmill! I have already factored this into my lifestyle for the foreseeable future. I feel great all day when I work out at Orange Theory in the AM and feel like I'm on my way to a much healthier me :)

Terrible experience, unwelcoming environment. The front desk worker who assisted my partner and I was SO rude and condescending that we ended up leaving before the class even started… which is a shame because we just moved to the area and are searching for a new gym to join! Needless to say we won’t be returning. I wish I could give 0/5 stars!
We signed up for a 6:45pm class (6/21) and signed our waivers online. We got to the studio at 6:25pm - it was completely empty. The woman at the front desk (pink nails) was scattered, unorganized and frantic. When checking us in I explained to her that I had taken a class a few years back in SLC and that it was my partner’s first class. This made her extremely flustered - she said she sent a text message to my partner’s phone saying we had to be there by 6:15pm which he did not receive. We apologized (even though we came 20 minutes early with pre-signed waivers…) and asked if it would still be okay to take the class. She said she would be rushed but it was fine. She continued putting in our information and then went back to asking about the text again. She asked why we didn’t get there at 6:15pm and why we didn’t respond to her text - her tone was incredibly rude, sighing and rolling her eyes. I could not believe how unprofessional she was being so I told her we would just leave. My partner tried to pull up the communication to show her that all he received was instructions on the waiver and she had no response. At this point the coach (Brandon) was finishing the earlier class and very confused why she didn’t just set us up - he said we still had plenty of time. He actually seemed pleasant but she went rambling on trying to explain her argument. We felt so uncomfortable by the way we were treated that we just left.. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

I’ve had such a positive experience joining OT Castro Valley about a month and a half ago. I love the atmosphere, motivation from the coaches (coach Brandon and Paul are great!) and I’ve already started seeing results. I was afraid I would get confused with the workouts, but the coaches are always there to get you on track or nudge you with a little extra motivation. Highly recommend joining!

The entire experience from intake process to onboarding to an excellent class with Paul was exactly what I was hoping for. The studio is super clean and the entire team was so friendly and supportive. The workouts always challenge me to push beyond my normal workout limits on my own. I am psyched to go back next week.

The workouts are fun and doable for everyone, as there are always alternatives available. All of the coaches are super encouraging and play great music! It really is the best workout you can get in an hour. I’ve recommended Orangetheory to a handful of my friends and they’ve all enjoyed it. I’m a “numbers” person and I love that I’m able to see my progress in real time and over time. Throughout the pandemic they promoted safety and adhered to CDC/local guidelines. I honestly have nothing but positive things to say about Orangetheory!

All of the coaches are fantastic! They care like family. Although they are coaching an entire class they all have an eagle eye to coach you individually. Stockton is an exceptional endurance coach, he gets in your head to drive results talking you through the class the entire time.

I love that the Coaches know everyone by sight. It shows that they are invested in each and every person that walks through their doors. They create workout routines that challenges you to push a little further. They are understanding of injuries or personal limitations and they make you feel like they are journeying these workouts with you.

I want to share my Orangetheory experience. It is a one hour effective training. Each time that I am at the gym, I have a well trained coach guiding my workout. The workouts are difficult, different, and challenging. Sometimes I did not like some exercises, but it is worth to try it. I am working at my own pace. Nobody is distracting me or engaging me in a unwanted conversation. There is not time! But my partners are sharing the same interests, energy, and enthusiasm. I really like this training because I can visualize an effective progress in my physical status.

The newest Orangetheory Studio in the East Bay doesn’t disappoint! Studio is new and clean with an attentive staff.
The coaches are great (be sure to check out Head Coach Jaimie, Coach Paul, or Coach Darcy).
Great play lists will keep you motivated!
Every class will be a new challenge but let me be clear: Whatever your fitness level or whatever your fitness goals are, Orangetheory will help you become the best version of yourself! You will experience a supportive environment, a fun atmosphere, & new challenges, while making new friends.
Generally, classes are 2 hour and the give you Cardio, Power, and Strength (Treadmill, Water rower, & and weight floor) so you get a full body workout in a convenient time frame.
Two to Three Times a week is all that is required but trust me, chances are you will become addicted to OTF and go more often than that.
OTF works into my travel schedule and O get to visit other studios but East Bay is home!
