I came here on a work related trip and had to get some otf time in. I’m glad I booked here. Friendly staff, clean facility and plenty of bathrooms/showers. Everyone was accommodating and I will return to this location in the future if needed.

The front desk guy with the nice smile, shaved head, and diamond earrings was the reason why I kept coming back β€” he’s always so kind and patient with walking me thru everything. He made me feel most welcome there when everything was new to me and has a great personality. I thought the studio was the same culture because of him.

Keep in mind I’ve only tried 2 different coaches. The coach can make and break your experience. Even though they are β€œpassionate”, they can yell and get impatient even when their instructions become unclear. My last experience felt terrible when it should be a challenging yet rewarding experience. I know their attitude is optional having gone to other studios. They seem unhappy, and there’s a level of impatient aggression that’s unnecessary. Stopped going to their location since I really don’t need that in my busy day.

It’s been little over a week and I’ve been to five classes. It has been physically hard since I’ve been inactive and sloth like. However, the classes lead by Monique have been great and I’m learning how to perform.

She takes the time to correct my form and also to provide alternative exercises for me. Monique provides clear and easy to follow instructions. She is very encouraging and supportive.

The classes are still difficult, but getting better every time with Monique’s positive attitude!

The workout, the music and the coach, Tyler, were awesome. This is a great workout as it is a mixture of weights and cardio. I prefer working out outdoors but I was hooked after the first class because the class was challenging and fun. Signed up immediately after the first class :).

Great gym, classes are a little full at the moment but they have already taken steps to address this. Why would you pay more to come to a gym like this because you should treat yo-self.

I had several questions and the were wonderfully addressed by Josh. Great Staff all around.

Love. Love. And love. The quality of the equipment including the heart monitor and stats are fantastic! The front desk staff are welcoming and friendly and the coaches are awesome and supportive. I love the mixture of activities (3G) and enjoyed the entire hour. Even though it’s hard work and I didn’t think I could do it…I felt so accomplished afterward.

Everything about Orangetheory in Culver City is amazing! Every single coach and staff member go above and beyond every class I have been to. The other members here are also so nice, supportive, and welcoming of one another in addition to the coaches and front desk crew. Orangetheory workouts are great by themselves, but the mix of excellent coaches, staff, and fellow members makes OTF-Culver such a wonderful experience that make you want to attend class as often as possible (even on days that the workouts are extremely tough).

Been going to Orange Theory 7 years across 5 different cities and this is the most difficult studio I’ve been to in terms of front desk staff. They don’t answer their phone. They ask you to text instead. It’s super difficult to change a class or bring someone with you. Decided to buy a class pack and join Equinox instead of fully committing to working out here.

My favorite part about working out at Orange Theory is not only the relentlessly challenging workouts which motivate me to push my body beyond what I ever imagined it was capable of doing, but also the sense of home that I get every time I walk into the gym. Even on my worst day, I know everything will be better once greeted by the friendly faces of all the team members, especially Christina, Ulysses, Tyler, Kelly, Danielle, Samantha, Monique, Marianne, and Taylor! They go above and beyond to provide exceptional service, fitness advice and a heartfelt experience. I was recently blown away when presented with a beautiful flower arrangement on my birthday by my fave front desk crew, Christina and Ulysses! Nothing made my birthday feel more special than that moment - mostly because I've never been a part of a fitness community who was thoughtful enough to do it and who took a genuine interest in my well-being, outside and in. OTF has changed my life: from my experience in losing 60+ pounds before the pandemic and being in the best shape of my life to returning again this year to lose it all again lol, I cannot say enough how much I LOVE OTF!!! <3

I used to love Orange Theory. It was fun and effective. I had to take a couple months off to travel for work, and when I came back I was nervous and scared to get back into the swing of things.

I finally booked a class with Benzo and ran five min late. The front desk still let me in, and I put on my shoes in the back. When I finally walked in, I went straight to the weights to start warming up.

Benzo immediately ran towards me and started yelling. Mind you - he's wearing a mic so the whole class can hear him. He tells me I'm late, I need to get out and leave right now. To drop the weights and get out of here. I do so, humiliated, and walk straight to the front desk.

I tell them I would like to cancel my membership - and they say okay. No apology or attempt to help me rebook or make it better - just cancel my membership and I leave.

I think this tells you how much they care about customers. I understand the policy and how we can't be late because if we don't warm up enough, we could injure ourselves. I'm not fighting against that. I just think there was a polite way to handle this, and a rude way to handle. And I never felt so disregarded - especially from an establishment I am paying A LOT of money to. Very disappointing.

Absolutely best one hour workout there is in the world. I have tried everything, and although there are many great fitness brands out there, there is no workout that I have stuck with for 8 years consistently and still enjoyed, found challenging, never plateaued, and have been genuinely excited to attend for that long. Love me some OTF! Oh and best coaches and music in my opinion :)

I joined Orange Theory this past March and couldn’t be happier! It has changed my feelings about going to the gym. I look forward to going in the morning and even on Sundays morning. All the coaches are super motivating and helpful. The staff all together is amazing and always accommodating. I like that the gym has incentives that get you motivated! They also have outings outside of the gym such as going to the beach, hiking and my personal fave wine tasting!……

The new post covid review….
If I was paying the prices of 179&up I would be very disappointed. The classes and workouts use yo be great these days they struggle. They’ve changed the way they do the floor workout which rarely are good. They offer less 3g workouts. The subs have attitudes. The quality is just not what it once was. It’s also not bc of covid. They’ve opened so many studios near each other. So i imagine it’s a struggle to find good coaches when you also cut their pay. OTF use to be the best but these days it’s doesn’t feel like that

I just wanted to try out a class with a friend to see if I will like the studio. Unfortunately didn’t get in because I was not there in the 30mins timeline, was there at 20mins before the class.

So disappointed. 30mins is a long waiting time to try a new class. Especially when you really tried hard to make it all the way there and got rejected.

The only reason I am quitting is 100% because of the parking. After the parking machine ate up my ticket, they assumed that I just wanted to not pay, being super arrogant and just letting me hang there, hold up the whole lane without even trying to help. Be aware.

Best workout ever! If you’re looking for an awesome 1 hour full body workout, than OTF if your place.

They combine cardio, core and weights in every class. I come out β€œworked” every time.

The icing is community. Everyone who works out at OTF is great, knowing that it is hard and therefore we support each other. The coaches are all fantastic and support you to achieve YOUR goals.

Here is the most important part, results. In one year, during Covid, I went from 235lbs to 205lbs. My body mass index (BMI) went from 25% to 19%. I’m way more muscular. I started at an 5.5 mph base and I’m now at a 7.5 mph base. My all out is at a 10-11 mph. I just recently ran a 6:49 mile. I have way more energy. And, I just turned 56 ;)

All around, it’s an A+++ experience.

I started with coach/trainer Maria who was great and I had great workout with her. She was very helpful with make sure my posture was correct and answering questions throughout the workout. I’m excited that I joined a gym that keep me accountable. I also enjoy using the app to enroll into a class!!

CULVER STUDIO
review
This is my home OTF, but since opening, I've been able to visit many other locations. I love this studio's layout best. And there's three showers (most studios only have one or two). 3 stars, down from 5 when I first reviewed: there's no email newsletter, like every other OTF I've visited, that keep you in the loop on classes, and events. The AC occasionally goes out, the music/stereo cut out often, and parking is free for 1 1/2 hours now, but if you go over it's $4. There's not the comradery of other studios, but the staff and coaches are good.

ORANGE THEORY
overall review
Orange Theory offers variety and pushes me harder than I would myself in an hour at the gym. Every class includes time on the treadmill, rower, and weight room ("floor").

Tip: If you're used to gym workouts or other class-based workouts, it's not too hard to start right up. Although, the Orange Theory class structure may be intimidating to those new to working out or starting their journey to getting in shape.

I LOVE the workouts and the coaches -- that's what keeps me at the studio
but I have to be honest in that the front desk staff is not great. You're usually ignored by them so there isn't a welcoming/helpful vibe in the studio until the coach comes out to review the class set up for the day. For as long as I've been a member, I just wish the front desk would be friendly.

The mix of classes (strength, endurance and power) ensure that workouts don't get repetitive or boring. I've been able to see measured improvements over time and it’s a workout I am interested in doing consistently and can still do at different studios when I travel. This studio however is only a year old and the equipment is already showing signs of age and rarely gets fixed/maintained adequately despite consistently reporting issues. The heart rate monitors don’t always work which is a key part of the orangetheory value proposition (I ditched mine months ago). They’ve had a lot of staff turnover and focus more on recruitment than member experience. Go for the workouts but keep your expectations low for anything beyond that.

First time going with a friend who has been a member for over 4 yrs and raving about Orange Theory we had called to let them know we running late but arriving 15 before class as they need this 30 min sell & intro spill the young lady replied that would be fine and they were looking forward to seeing us.
Upon arriving that was a different story, they had insisted on rescheduling our workout as now they go back on THEIR WORD saying this not enough time for the intro siting "corporate policy"
I found this Extremely Unprofessional considering they said it was fine, Strange considering as it's their job is to build rapport with "new members" The workers completely did the opposite!
Not oh did this leave a bad impression but one has to wonder what CALIBER of management hires individuals that do not see the value of a potential member! Management obviously needs to reevaluate their approach if this is "corporate policy"
and hire competent employees. I definitely will NOT be back. I had heard rumors about the Unprofessionalism at Culver City. Now that I've had first hand experience NO THANK YOU!

OTF is a great workout! Every workout is never the same and each day is different. Nice staff, Clean facility, Well-organized! I appreciate the friendly vibe of the front desk staff, it felt comfortable and not too rigid or corporate or snobby. I love that people of all shapes, sizes, fitness levels, etc. all seems to fit in and work together. Encouraging environment that also challenges you. Coaches are all great, each has his/her own vibe and playlist. Adam helped me pick out some swag for a friend and he was super patient and helpful. Love this location!

Some other helpful things to keep in mind:
- Parking is free and easy in a structure connected to the building
- If you're new to the OrangeTheory style/approach, I promise you'll either catch on right away or even for people like me (I have a few learning disabilities so everything takes me much longer to acclimate to) I felt comfortable by the end of the first class and my ability to follow along without much effort came by the third class.
- The app is useful but definitely has its glitches, but that's not an issue specific to this location (just OTF overall). However, to make up for it you can also book classes online, over the phone, AND via text!
- I haven't used showers so I don't have enough info/experience to review that.
- The locker area gets cramped in between classes but people aren't rude so it doesn't bother me to wait until I can access my locker.

Very well organized. Everything is kept Super clean. Nice staff. Easy parking. Helpful, positive coaches. The Culver City location is the only one I’ve been to. It’s so convenient for me and I’ve had the absolute best experience there that I’m honestly hesitant to try any other location. I injured my hip and the let me freeze my account until the torn ligament had healed in about 2 months. Love that you’re able to text them too and they respond very quickly! The only thing is i wish they had a couple more bathrooms and an actual locker room that more people could change and get ready in. But all in all, 10/10 would recommend to friends or family. Been to a lot of gyms, yoga studios, fitness classes in LA and this is by far my favorite.

The staff at Culver City really make this studio what it is. Julian and Anthony at the front desk are super warm and welcoming. The coaches are tough but supportive and approachable. Hart and Kaitlin, in particular, have great energy and fun music.

Michael, the studio manager, is an absolute sweetheart. When I was considering upgrading my membership he went through all the numbers with me to make sure I was getting a package that made sense. Unlike at other studios, I never felt like I was being pressured into paying more than I was comfortable.

Orangetheory workouts are great, but the staff at Culver City really make this studio feel like a "home" studio.

I've been a member of Orangetheory for almost 3 years now and cannot speak more highly of the workout. I come from a competitive dance background and after retiring my shoes I was constantly searching for a workout that continually challenged me as dance did. I've definitely found that at OTF - their workout model is designed to keep you competing against yourself and ensuring you never plateau.

I was ecstatic that the new Culver OTF would be opening so close to my house and I have definitely not been disappointed. Culver has become my main studio and I've loved everything they have to offer so far. I've hit almost every one of my PR's in Hart's classes and leave each class excited for the next. If you haven't tried Orangetheory yet you absolutely must!

Great concept but this place is a cash cow that will charge its members $12 for booking a class, canceling within its 8 hour period prior to class starting. If you get slipped in from the waiting list within that waiting period, and cancel, you're still charged. This location especially is jam packed. Not sure if it's worth the $169/ month unlimited plan when there's not enough space during peak hours. Btw, their staff does not practice the same ideology. I've gotten different answers for different staff members on what charged and what's forgiven. I'm only going here because it's local to my house and where I work. πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

I am hooked on the workouts. I have never been a fan of group classes, but this is different. What makes OTF exceptional is the workouts are like individual classes in a supportive group environment. You push yourself as much or as little as you like. It is the right combination of cardio and strength training bundled in a well thought out, achievable and efficient 56 min. workout (60min. total=56min.exercise + 4 min. stretch/cool down).

Also, I have not experienced any pushy or over hyped sales tactics that I have found common in gyms. I have had only positive interactions with the staff/management, everyone is knowledgeable, friendly and makes time to answer any question.

Overall, I am sold on the experience. And the results I have seen by going twice a week for 7 weeks is all the proof I need that I have found the best workout for me.
