OT Bankers Hill has quickly become my favorite place to be other than home. I joined the last week of June with a goal of lowering my cholesterol - and now the last week of August have learned it has already dropped 17 POINTS!!! I cant say enough good things about OT, the coaches, and the staff. Everyone has made me feel welcomed and strong even though I am not at my fitness goals. This is a place of acceptance and growth. Truly would not be in the mindset I have today without this place. I cannot wait to see my progress over the next year!

I have never felt more uncomfortable and more unwelcome at a gym in my entire life. I highly recommend going to the Mission Valley location because the environment is night and day compared to Bankers Hill.

Choose any gym but this one. I started at the east village and loved it. But they permanently closed. The managers there are incompetent. Our choices were terminate the membership or transfer. I chose to terminate. Both east village managers were present when i submitted a verbal notice to terminate. I was informed they would take care of the rest. No one said anything about signing anything or I needed to watch for any email. My last class was 10/24/24 because the gym closed 11/18/24. Instead of terminating they transferred me against me my will and have been charging me and refuse to return my money. Not only that when I notice the theft, i called they won’t even return this last payment for March they instead, as if it’s some prize say I can use the gym until the billing cycle ends in April. IDW TO DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT ROBS CANCER PATIENTS. I went back to treatment in November and missed the charges for this reason until two days ago. Also to add insult to injury the manager at this location says a verbal termination is acceptable with her but she doesn’t know why Kayleigh couldn’t get it done.

OTF Bankers has played a huge part in helping me get into an amazing fitness routine. Every coach (and the entire front desk staff) is amazing and all have contributed to teaching great technique and form and fostering a welcoming, comfortable, judgement-free environment. The only thing that would improve my experience would be more 90 minute classes! It's an awesome format and 60 minutes sometimes doesn't feel like enough. I was given a free comp’d class with my purchase of a CRSSD after party ticket at Music Box so I went to reserve a class. I realized I scheduled the class at a wrong time so I called the studio to reschedule for a different time that day (they take your credit card when booking so I didn’t want them to charge me) I call to reschedule and Rachel at the Hillcrest location proceeds to ask me questions about how I heard about Orange Theory. I tell her I got a comp’d class with purchase of a ticket for CRSSD and took an Orange Theory class a long time ago before. She then goes “oh we will need to charge you then for this class”. Why give out free “comp’d” tickets to people when they purchase something if it’s basically only free intro classes that you’re going to charge people for. Stop handing these out if they’re not actually free or comp’d. Awful customer service and they need to stop handing these out to people if they’re just going to grill them on the phone and ask for money.

I’ve been attending Orangetheory Fitness for a couple months now, and I absolutely love it! The workouts are always challenging but scalable for all fitness levels, and the mix of rowing, strength training, and cardio keeps things exciting. Joining OrangeTheory Fitness has been an incredible experience. The high-energy, structured workouts are both challenging and motivating, providing a perfect blend of cardio and strength training. The coaches are exceptionally supportive and knowledgeable, always pushing members to achieve their personal best while ensuring proper form and technique.
The community atmosphere is another highlight, fostering a sense of camaraderie and encouragement among members. I'm dedicated to fitness on my own and was not looking to make a workout buddy. Still, occasionally before class the coaches ask all of the members in the room to turn to the person next to them and share a random fact, and voilà - I unexpectedly made a friend who I now always sit beside when we take classes at the same time.
The data-driven approach, with heart rate monitors and performance summaries, offers tangible insights into your progress, rewarding every workout. Initially, I wasn't sure I'd like the heart rate monitor and thought it was too competitive. I joined during a promotion and got the monitor for free, and now I'm glad I have it because the competition is self-motivated, and sometimes with my new workout buddy who I enjoy cheering on.
If you're taking your first class at OrangeTheory, I highly recommend Coach Quinton, aka Coach Q. He embodies what it means to be a coach. He starts every class with what I call a gratitude pose and acknowledgment that we are alive and well. He is personable with every member. He connects with members throughout the class to ensure everyone feels good and gives individual attention to ensure your form is correct.
My personal best classes often happen with Coach Devon. If you like personal shoutouts and coaches who hype you up verbally, you'll probably enjoy Coach Devon. She connects with each member individually and is warm, friendly, and approachable. Coach Devon is great at giving advice and ideas on what you can try next to get the most out of each class.

I've been attending classes at OTF Bankers Hill since it opened. I've gone through the excitement of opening, the insanity that was Covid (shoutout to the outdoor classes atop of Mr. A's), and now reclaiming their groove again as Covid life has faded away. The coaches are wonderful people, the staff are so personable and helpful, and I've made lifelong friends with the people who workout there too! The workouts are fun, informative, and are inclusive to many different fitness levels. In my opinion, it's the best workout I can pay for! Thanks OTF Bankers Hill :).

PS: If you are on the fence, I suggest trying your first class with ConRoy. His playlists are always my favorite and his smile is contagious!

I’m just over a year into my orange theory journey, and it has completely changed my relationship with fitness and with my own body. I keeps me active more than anything else I’ve done before (I’m a chronic exercise avoider!), and even though the workouts are pre-planned they’re still completely adaptable to your goals. I’m not in it for an aesthetic transformation or particular fitness goal — I just want consistent, varied exercise to keep my heart healthy, and that’s exactlt what orange theory gives me. My go-to’s are coach Q and coach ConRoy, both awesome, nonjudgemental, and good at keeping me motivated to push myself as far as I can go. I’m also a bit of a numbers person, so I love having the heart rate monitor that allows me to see the progression of my heart rate variability over time. This has fianlly gotten me to like exercise.

Row. Weights. Tred. Interval training. Hit class with a designated coach to get the most out of the class, keeps an eye out on your form/progress to make sure you’re bought in. The music is blasting! The coach brings the hype! The hour goes by so fast! And you can’t do less, you only do your best! If you don’t have a workout routine try it out it’s so fun and you’ll meet a whole bunch of your neighbors. I always go at 6:05 or 7:10 and so typically it’s a certain kind of person that likes to get stuff done and class first thing, has a plan for the day — I like that. Come to a class?! I’m 33 class in and loving it!!

I've been going to OT on and off (off usually for injuries unrelated to OT) since July 2022. My spouse and I joined together and it's been a great addition to our exercise routine. It challenges me, but there are always options and modifications for days I am not feeling 100%.

I like that you can power walk or jog/run, depending on your goals or your body's limits. There's a bike or strider option if the treadmill or rower aren't good for you. When I hurt my back pretty badly and my hip, I couldn't walk much without pain in certain places, so I did the bike for a few months and really loved it.

I also take their Strength classes, which are great for weight lifting especially since there aren't many typical gyms in the area. I feel myself progressing with weights and it's awesome.

The space is always very clean and the staff and coaches are all so nice. I've never felt pressured to push myself more than I can and they are always understanding when I am doing "less" than normal. My only issue is that the music is a bit too loud (Apple watch tells me the volume is sometimes at too high a decibel level). You can wear earplugs and they provide them, but I'd love the volume turned down just a notch.

I highly recommend the studio to anyone looking to increase the intensity of their fitness routine. If you're feeling shy, they spend several minutes with you anyway on your first visit to explain where things are located and how it works. It was great to have that when I started.

The best OTF studio I have been to last few years. The atmosphere was very welcoming and energetic to make me feel like come back for more at 6am in the morning. The front desk staff were very friendly and seemed to provide the customer oriented support always. The studio manager went extra mile so I don't spend extra when I had to transfer the home studio to other location.
All coaches were very knowledgeable and amazing at motivating. They walk around the studio throughout the enter class time providing help such as correcting lifting forms and answering questions in between the workout call outs and demos. I've noticed that this is common in studios around San Diego. I've been to a few studios outside of the state and not all were the same.

I love going to OT at this location! I've tried others in SD and the vibe just isn't the same. The coaches here are amazing. I usually go to Zack's classes because he's so encouraging! But I've also been to Josh, Devon, and Conroy's, depending on when I can fit my schedule in. They're all so positive and gets me a good workout in. The front desk staff are super friendly but I think there's been recent changes? Parking is sometimes sparse but not too bad, just coke a little earlier than class. This is a clean gym & they recently got new floors. I'd say the people that attend are also really friendly and I love how the coaches always encourage us to tell our neighbors good job! Will probably forever be my favorite OT gym! :) as I'll be moving soon, I'll definitely miss the classes here!

This is for all the studios, La Mesa, Mission Valley and Banker’s Hill, all of which I consider my home studios. If you’ve never wanted to step foot into a gym, do exercise, or feel intimidated for whatever reason, OTF is the way forward to better fitness. I’m 70 years old, and this program works! It is doable! It is repeatable (sustainable) and you don’t feel left out on your own because you don’t know the moves. The coaches are there to help you and they WILL help you. Your progress is measurable (heart-rate monitors feed back in real time and results sent to your phone’s app.). I feel better after every session. There is freedom: I can add or decrease weights as I choose. It is convenient! I can book the classes, coaches and times that fit my schedule. When I book my participation in a class, it is guaranteed that there’ll be a spot for me. Environment is clean with private showers and restrooms. I feel encouragement from others. I can compare my results from class to class or week to week or month to month. I feel stronger, more steady, and more self-confident as I engage in exercises that I’ve never done before. I love it! If I can stick with a fitness regimen at age 70 (I go 3x a week), I don’t see why anyone else wouldn’t.

The staff at Banker’s Hill is incredible - everyone knows me by name and all of the coaches have such a positive, vibrant energy (even at 5 or 6 am, ha!). OTF Banker's Hill is the best fitness studio in the city. The workout is amazing and you get what you put in, but what separates this studio from any other are the people. Jordan, the studio manager, has a way of making everyone feel welcome as soon as they walk through the door. The coaching staff is second to none. The manager of this gym, Jordan, has made this particular OT special and amazing, populating it with great coaches and positivity. Her care and leadership are a main reason I restarted OT and will keep patronizing this gym. I am exceedingly impressed by everybody at Orangetheory Bankers Hill. I've only been a member since the beginning of December (it now being mid February) and I am always greeted by name.

The workout is done in a class format, everybody working out together. The class involves high intensity interval training. The format is similar across the typical class, but varied to keep it fresh. Each class involves working out on the treadmill, working with weights, doing exercises relying on your own body weight, and the rowing machine. There is also a class offered less frequently called lift 45 that focuses on strength training in a 45 minute workout. The typical class is 60 minutes or 90 minutes.

My fellow members, the place, coaches, and staff provide a very positive vibe. People are generally highly supportive and welcoming. That is especially important for me because I don't consider myself a gym person.

Almost without exception, I enjoy working with every coach. A special shout out goes to coaches Zack, Ellie W, Nicole, and Matt and the manager Jordan.

I was grateful to have a chance to try a complimentary class. This is the first and only OTF I've been to. Overall it's not a great value for the high cost of classes, and the studio lacks amenities that is pretty typical within the boutique fitness market (complementary towels for example).
The instructors and front desk are very warm and friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable about studio stuff (about kinesiology and fitness I'm not so sure about). The class goes by quickly with circuit-style rotations, great music, and a club-like atmosphere. The biggest issue for me was the *intense* smell of B.O. in the studio. This may be a result of the highly attended busy evening times. Still, it smelled like a fresh batch of french onion soup. I hesitate to say this because the managers may start using endocrine disrupting sprays to mask the scent instead of addressing the root problem. Anyway, it's not for me, but I'm grateful for OTF for letting me try them out.

Let’s be honest, isn’t OTF a rich house wive’s workout sesh. Definitely not! The only negative thing I can say is, I wish I hadn’t waited so long to join.

I hadn’t worked out in years and as I’m nearing 40 my body was not happy with me. So I made the plunge to walk through the doors in July 2020. I hated OTF at first. It was loud and I felt assaulted by the loud speaker and music. I felt shamed the first 5 classes when announcing myself as new. Yet I wanted people to know I was new when I couldn’t finish some of the exercises and wasn’t as fast on the treadmill. But after my first work I knew I wanted to try it again. After my 3rd work out I started to feel more comfortable with it all. Now 3 months in I LOVE IT. I am totally hooked. I love the coaches and their energy. I still don’t always love the music and how loud it is, but I’m a HSP so it’s all progress. The whole workout feels good now. I’ve never been athletic, and I haven’t felt strong in years and now I feel like I’m experiencing my body and what its capable of- at almost 50! I’m stoked that I made it past the initial uncomfortableness and have graduated to a place where I’m cool with some of the physical discomfort knowing that it will eventually present me with a healthier, stronger version of me.
