I became a member in Texas in 2017 and I have 800+ classes under my belt. My home studio is now OTF SLO and I recommend it to anyone no matter where in their fitness journey they are.

The workouts are incredibly effective. I’ve seen real results in both strength and endurance, and I actually look forward to coming in. The studio is always spotless, and the equipment well maintained.

Coach Rodrigo is great! His energy, motivation, and attention to form push you to give your best every time. His classes are a nice balance of challenging and fun. That said, every coach here brings something great to the table. No matter who’s leading the class, you know you’re in good hands.

Nicole and the front desk staff are also super friendly and welcoming. They always greet you with a smile and are ready to help with anything you need. It really is like a community here. Highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to get fit and stay motivated! It might change your life like it did mine.

I've been a member for a little over two years, and couldn't be happier. The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive and helpful. Workouts can be adjusted so that they are appropriate for any fitness level. The studio is simple, but clean and organized, and exactly what is needed.

I highly recommend Orange Theory Fitness San Luis Obispo. Every fitness level is here and you work out at your own pace so everyone can do it, including seniors. My results after just two months have exceeded my expectations and are better than a personal trainer. The one-hour full body workouts, skilled coaches, and healthy fitness mindset make OTF stand out. The workouts are challenging in a good way. Heidi, the studio manager and the studio team are equally impressive. They greet every member, are responsive to member needs, create fun, motivating fitness challenges in a supportive environment. The camaraderie between coaches, management, studio team, and members is special - everyone truly cares.

I started Orange Theory in August. I was coming from a place where I have not really exercised for over two years. I was diagnosed with RA and Lupus and I was overweight, so a gym was not something I was comfortable with. Orange Theory has changed my life. The coaches are welcoming and motivating. I lack balance and don't always get the form correct, but I have received nothing but constructive feedback designed to really push me. I went from walking on a treadmill and dreading it, to being able to get close to 5 miles in a 50 minute class. I must say I am hooked. Every coach is phenomenal, and the early morning class is very welcoming.

Got an OT member January 2024 and it's been great. I love this studio. Come here a lot when I visit my grandmother, it's my favorite. Worked a lot with Rodrigo and Lisa, they are awesome. They are motivating and really know the workouts/ exercises well. Front desk is friendly, studio is clean, and they have some added amenities.

SLO OTF is awesome. It’s the kind of structured team workout I need. Coaches training me every step of the way. Coaches are awesome. I’ve been a member for over a year and the workouts still challenge me and are never boring. If you can spare an hour a day 3-4 days a week I challenge you to join SLO OTF!!!

I’ve tried a bunch of different gyms, workout plans, etc. Orangetheory is the only thing I’ve been able to stick to— been coming here over 2 years now. There’s a noticeable difference in my mood and energy levels when I go consistently, and that’s helped me stick with it. All the coaches are wonderful and it’s a welcoming space for all. Very grateful for otf!

Orangetheory is the best workout routine I’ve experienced, and the SLO studio consistently has the best coaches (and I workout at Orangetheory studios wherever I travel). If you haven’t tried Orangetheory, do! Regardless of your ability/fitness, you will get a great workout because while the exercises are consistent throughout each workout session, YOU set your own pace/level of exertion. You do you, as they say. Unlike so many other studios, Orangetheory is both supportive (coaches and fellow sweaters) and private-ish. Nobody judges your fitness, exertion, or even appearance!

Everyday I go to Orangetheory is a better day for me!

Loved this OTF so much! I was lucky to stop by on my drive to Berkeley from Solvang and I can't stop bragging about my coach, Lisa to my hubs. We live a very nomadic life and OTF works for me bc they have so many locations all over the country and I can keep a workout routine. With that said, I have attended dozens of locations and SLO is lucky to have Lisa. She really cares about the clients, and does a phenomenal job coaching. If you're in SLO, just go.. not only is Lisa great, but the front desk was extremely welcoming. And the amenities at this location excel what is offered at OTF studios anywhere else. Because of this great experience, I'm convincing my husband to live in SLO for a couple months in the near future. Thanks y'all!

They refused to let me in class even though I came 15 min early and had to drive 30 min to get here. Update: In light of the owner reaching out and considering that managets do make mistakes and hopefully learn from them, I increased my review from one star to four stars...

This review is for the management, not the staff who were very welcoming, nor the workouts, nor the clean facility. Soon after I signed up, I began having severe back pain while doing the row, treadmill, and some of the weight exercises. I took the trainer's suggestions but the pain got worse.

I found out through an MRI that I had a severe disc bulge, along with degeneration in my sacrum and lower lumbar spine. It's incredibly painful, especially when sitting. I am not able to drive without severe pain. I asked management to waive the cancellation fee and stop my membership and they told me that I needed to give them a doctor's signed note to get the fee cancelled.

I provided management with my MRI results along with a message from my doctor that she was willing to write a doctor's note and leave it at the office for me to pick up but couldn't email me the note due to HIPPA rules. I asked Orangetheory to waive my cancellation fee without me having to pick up the note and deliver it to them, because the drive to the doctor's office was long and would be very painful, but they refused. They responded that they couldn't be flexible with me and that others were able to provide them with a doctor's note, so I should too. I pleaded with them one more time to waive the fee, but they never responded.

They know that my doctor is willing to write a note indicating that I can't exercise, because I showed them the correspondence. They know that it causes me great pain to leave my house and drive, because I told them. They know the specifics and severity of my injury, because I shared the MRI with them. I'm left feeling that they'd rather collect fees than to treat their customers with compassion and understanding.

If they want to keep their customers happy, they should consider an individual's extenuating circumstances and be more willing to make exceptions to their rules.

While it was a decent workout it is not a very personal experience. I tend to enjoy group fitness classes, but it's basically someone yelling instructions through a microphone as you run or row. I also felt I was being nickeled and dimed with the needed heart monitor that kept giving out throughout the workouts. I signed up for a month thinking I would try it out and then realized in the fine print that I have to give a 30-day notice to cancel... so they basically force you into a 2-month membership to start. For my next gym membership, I will make sure to stick with a local gym that is more personal.

I need to start with I loved working out at Orangetheory and loved the instructors. I am super frustrated with their inconsistent and poor communication. I was new to the SLO area and joined after the mask mandate in August and the same day as my "free visit". Signing up my questions were...is it easy to get the class time I want? reply, "oh yes" Do I need to purchase the OT watch thing? reply, "nope you can use one of ours". You're telling me I can cancel at any time? reply, "yes, and if you need to freeze your membership you just let us know"....Not once was I alerted to the FEES. To be fair it was probably in my contract, but as I was signing up for "today only can you get this low-low price" I alerted the guy I was hesitant since I didn't have time to read it. reply "oh it's just your typical sign here contract. Nothing in there I haven't explained". WRONG!
So I call to inquire about freezing my membership after a knee injury sidelined me and when masks were once again mandated. I froze it, but wasn't aware there was a monthly fee to freeze and it was only good for X amount of days, I'd have to refreeze or be charged fully. I call back and let them know I need to cancel. I'm told the person who does that isn't here she'll call you back. I call again and leave a message. Two days later or so I get the call back and alert I need to cancel. Ugh. This caused the delay in my 30 day cancellation notice. I signed all the documents to cancel and made sure there would be no more Orangetheory charges. A month plus later there's that charge. Due to Orangetheory SLO's lack of honest communication, lack of knowledge on some staffs part, and unreturned or delayed calls I am paying the price. I find their ethics to be greedy and while my goal is to be reimbursed just one month it is also my hope they get their act together so no one else has to take a financial hit and be misinformed.
