New member here!
I showed up exactly 5 mins late and I was told, “you’re too late, we had a waitlist and we filled it!” The clock was still shown 12:05 as we spoke. There was no way I was given the full 5 mins late.
The parking lot was full so I ran over. Quite disappointed and apparently other reviewers had the same issue.

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience with the Orange Theory of Tustin. I arrived to one of the classes 20 seconds late and they refused to let me in. I asked to talk to manager following that (Mari) whom never reached back to me. I followed up and another associate there mentioned there was a new hire there and didn't know better to forgive 15 seconds being late. I asked for cancellation of my membership, and they said they can't help with cancelation and only manager can do that (Mari). I requested to talk to manager who still never reached back to me despite multiple attempts. On 8/8, I called again requesting for cancellation. Associate again said only manager can do that. I asked him to send an email to manager and CC'd me which he did. He still no one cancelled my membership nor contact me. I received another charge on my credit card the following week. When I called again, they said their policy is to charge for another month post cancellation. Now they said they are cancelling post all this back and forth. A lot of time wasted for all of this. Won't go to this studio again.
Update as of 9/2: Mari called me finally. She made excuses that her team should be able to do cancellations and she will address them in a team meeting next month. She offered to waive the last month membership fee that they forced on me in exchange for removing this review. I am puzzled by this style of management.

If I could leave a 0 review I would. Came in to try a class while visiting my mom. I tend to work remote from LA and OC. Arrived to a Tall Lady named Marie (description in case she gave me her wrong name) who welcomed me with attitude as to why I didn’t arrive 30 min before class and forcing me to give her my job information and personal data I did not feel comfortable providing at which point she turned and said get out of my studio you are irate and you will never come here again. Called security for no reason and refused to give me her name hence the description of her being a Tall woman who may or may not have given me her true name, she says she is the supervisor of the franchise. Nonetheless I will never try another Orangetheory studio anywhere I go because of this experience. Equinox and Barry’s do not force you to provide private information. She also failed to explain the need for any information until after she decided to call security. She assumed I was there for a free class instead of looking herself in the mirror and checking her attitude and stereotypes at the door. I hope the owner of this studio makes some changes.

Instructors are great, but be aware of the 6 month contract. Even if you get into a serious health issue, they don't let you cancel. The manager at this location is not understanding and very greedy.

I’ve been a fan of Orangetheory since my time in Washington State—I loved the workouts and the sense of community so much that I brought two family members to join me at the Tustin studio. Sadly, this location doesn’t reflect the brand I originally fell in love with.
Twice, Liz hid key details until we’d committed. During sign-up, she hyped a promotion but never mentioned it locked us into six months until the paperwork hit. Later, I asked to downgrade to save money; she sold us a pricier 10-pack instead, only admitting after payment it’d auto-enroll us in Elite, costing more. It’s a pattern—omitting info or spinning it until you’re trapped. I have screenshots of the communications showing what was left out. Since then, I’ve noticed other reviews mentioning similar experiences with Liz while scrolling through feedback.
What made the situation truly unacceptable wasn’t just the miscommunication—it was the studio’s unwillingness to resolve it. For over a week, I followed up multiple times and was largely ignored. Liz responded sporadically, with no help from others, and the manager, Mari, never reached out despite my request to speak with her and how clearly things had escalated.
We had three active memberships and still felt disregarded and undervalued. They only offered a resolution after days of follow-up—and presented it as a favor rather than a fix for what shouldn’t have happened in the first place.
We’re finishing our classes but avoiding this location—and won’t renew. I believed in Orangetheory’s ethos, but this studio turned that into disappointment.

The lowest people ever to be working at this gym!
Have spent almost 300 hundred for a month of session, with a believe if I don't like the gym, the classes everything will be refunded!
Shot out to sales person, Liz!
Who will sell you anything and everything but will not stick to her true words!
They are here to get the money from you and it's not even a real Pilates classes!
I’m seeking a more tranquil environment where I can unwind and enjoy my workout without the distractions of loud music and someone speaking incessantly. As a hospital employee, I’m constantly exposed to noise throughout my shift, so I’m eager to find a gym that offers a serene atmosphere with calming music and a focus on Pilates fitness rather than cardio.
When you tell them in what promotions you have signed up for, they are giving you extra strife that they have never talked about, or included!
Wouldn't recommend it !!!!

I’ve been an OTF member for over 6 years and love it! The concept definitely makes working out fun. The variety of workouts makes it not so repetitive and everyone’s music playlist gets you hyped. All of my coaches are super motivating, energetic, and nice. Shout out to Coach Maddi, Kiley, Mel, Abby, and Melissa! The rest of the staff are amazing as well. Don’t be afraid to try OTF. Orangetheory Fitness Tustin Marketplace is an amazing community of supportive members, motivating coaches, and a welcoming front desk team. I've been a member since 2014, with nearly 2,500 classes, and the energy, music, and workouts never disappoint!
Huge thanks to coaches Maddi, Mel, Melissa, Abby, and Kiley for pushing us to be our best, and to Liz, Sinai, Isabella, Alexis, and Mari at the front desk for always bringing positivity and a great attitude.
If you're looking for a challenging, fun, and supportive fitness experience, OTF Tustin Marketplace is the place to be!

I tried a lot of different classes after Covid to get back to normal and OTF was the only thing that worked. The combination of a challenging workout with coaching and just enough peer pressure works for me. The coaches are great and flexible and the front desk people like Sinai are always so welcoming.

I visited this OrangeTheory location once two years ago, and since then, they’ve been calling me to come back every month, even though I’ve clearly stated “no interest” & “stop calling” many times.
It’s been two years of receiving these random calls, and it’s become really frustrating. I’ve been to numerous fitness studio, only this one has such a problem.

By far one of the worst locations. And I've been to many orange theory locations. I don't know where these stellar review comes from. The coaches don't coach or input proper technique when working out. They don't really help or check to see if you are actually doing things right. They just let you be compared to the other locations I've been to. I've had really bad neck pain I believe due to this.
Make no doubt about it, the success of this particular OT is Sheerly due to the location.NOT THE COACHES. So I don't understand this five minute policy when they ain't really teaching you. They briefly go over it.
I was late 5 minutes and they said I wouldn't have time to warm up properly and they wouldn't let me in and said it's up to the coaches which is ridiculous because the coaches suck here Period. Also instead of just letting me rush in they spent more time arguing with me and deciding back and forth if they should let me in or not further increasing the time of being "late".
Orangetheory prides itself in being a family/community but no that's a complete lie. I've had multiple neck pain from working out here because of the lack of care from the coaches which is a stark contrast to the other locations I've come across. They don't care about your form or maybe they just got lazy. Who knows. I don't want to name any names and I haven't tried all the coaches but it's typically the 8:30 and 9:30am classes. I'll just leave it at that. I regret buying the passes here but will just have to wait I guess until it's over since this one is the closest to the house.
I understand it is a business but even workplaces are more understanding and make exceptions under circumstances that aren't under your control.
And the audacity of the "manager" telling me to wait an hour for the next class. My time is valuable lady. Get out of here. I would expect a woman to be more understanding but nope.
Management you need to be better supportive to moms because I see that it is mostly women that are supporting orangetheory. We have a thousand things on our plates. Please @ me!
I attached screenshots of a conversation with a friend prior to this incident about my neck pain. Maybe instead of focusing so much on the warm ups, get better coaches?
They also need to get rid of the waiting list. They honestly just need to do a complete overhaul. I have sooooo much more to say but maybe next time

I’ve been a loyal Orangetheory member for 2 years with a Premier Unlimited membership, but my experience at the Tustin - The Market Place studio was beyond disappointing. I arrived 9 minutes late to a 5:20 pm class due to my hospital shift running late. Despite there being empty rowers, I was refused entry and told I’d be charged a late cancel fee.
What made this worse was that the manager completely neglected to speak with me directly. Instead, the front desk staff relayed an ultimatum: I could avoid the fee by switching to a later class, but only if I agreed to no longer book classes via the app—effectively banning my entry. This felt discriminatory and incredibly unprofessional.
I’ve visited about 5 different OTF studios across both the East and West coasts, and I’ve never encountered treatment like this. Every other studio I’ve been to has been understanding and flexible in similar situations. It’s a stark contrast to the welcoming environment I’ve come to expect from Orangetheory.
I’ve always relied on OTF for stress relief, but after this experience, I won’t be returning to this studio and would caution others about the poor treatment I received. I’ve also included photos of the 5:20 pm class, showing the empty rowers, to further illustrate the unreasonable nature of this situation.

Ok, not great. Higher on the cost side as there are better options that charge way less. The high monthly cost seems to be mainly for the go-to-the- gym discipline. Loud music blasts through the ears throughout the gym time, volume can be little low. It takes a few classes to understand the trainers as they are too fast. Will lose classes or money with 8 hour before class cancellation policy (you get charged). There's is also an extra one month notice for cancellation.

I am Extremely Disappointed with Class Booking Incident on May 2nd 2024
I am utterly disappointed with the appalling service I received at Orange Theory Market Place in Tustin on May 2nd. My experience was marred by a class booking incident that left me feeling disrespected and frustrated.
I had diligently booked a class for 6:30 pm and even invited a friend and a prospective client to join me. Despite calling at 6:32 pm to inform the facility that I was merely three minutes away and would arrive by 6:35 pm, I was told that if I arrived after 6:35 pm, I would be denied entry. Despite my pleas to reserve my spot as I was en route, I arrived at exactly 6:35 pm only to be told that my spot had been given away.
To add insult to injury, the staff member at the front desk proceeded to scold me, blaming me for being "20 seconds late" and accusing me of delaying because I was looking for my towel and water bottle (I parked at the front and she saw me arriving at 6:24 and getting my stuff). This staff member even went as far as raising their voice and screaming at me, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and respect.
The lack of customer service and understanding during this incident was shocking. Not only was I inconvenienced by being denied entry to a class I had booked and confirmed, but I was also subjected to unnecessary rudeness and hostility.
I implore the management to address this matter promptly and ensure that such incidents do not tarnish the reputation of their establishment in the future. As a loyal customer, I expect better treatment and professionalism.

I started almost a year ago, after trying many classes like cycling and others nothing worked for me until orange theory. I didn’t workout for a year during the pandemic and couldn’t get back on track until orange theory. The combination of variety, challenging classes and member comradely have really helped me challenge myself and motivate me like doing insanity classes before the pandemic. Thanks to the
instructors, staff and other members for keeping me going.

About 3 months ago I nervously signed up for Orange Theory in Tustin. At 41 years old, I wasn’t sure this was the right place to start since I couldn’t remember the last time I worked out nor could I recall the last time I sincerely considered my health (beyond complaining about it).
3 months (and -15 lbs) later, I’m hooked. The workouts are tough but you are encouraged to handle the exercises at your own pace and modify as needed- zero judgement and lots of positivity.
Everyone is fantastic- the coaches are welcoming and very supportive. I want to especially highlight Coach Hitch who has kept me motivated and smiling since my first week here (no small feat, so thank you!).

I really like OTF but this location is really inflexible and I will be recommending friends and family go to a different location. The two streets leading up to this location currently have construction going on so 4 lanes merge into one lane. This caused me to be one minute off the cut off time and the person I talked with didn’t want to hear me out or let me reschedule. I made my reservation for this 9:40am Monday class, 20 mins prior to class to make sure I could go. Had I known I was going to run into so much traffic, I wouldn’t have made the reservation. The person I was talking to seemed to not care at all about talking with me as she was looking at the computer while I was talking with her and just kept on acting like she was proud about this class still counting. Maybe she had a bad weekend but at least have a positive customer service conversation and interaction. All in all, typically OTF is great, however I won’t be coming back or recommending this location.

I have been going to OrangeTheory Tustin for about 3 years now, and I consider this place to be my home away from home.
The front desk is so welcoming and friendly. Mari, the manager, has been there for a short time and has already made noticeable positive changes felt by members. Emily and Julia, who just usually happen to there mostly at the time I go, are always there with a smile and ready to get us assigned to our stations.
The workouts are so good, and don't require you to think. You just book the class, walk-in and get an amazing workout. While all the coaches are all great, Mel is one coach you'd definitely want to take a class with. No slacking allowed with her, she will coach you, correct your form and push you to be better than you were yesterday, every... day!
Lakana, is another coach to look for as well, She is full of energy, pushes you and challenges you, and has some awesome playlists!
The studio is always super clean, and so are the bathrooms.
If you live in the area and are looking for a way to get your workout in without much fuss, try OTF Tustin, you won't regret it!
I'm also there 5 days a week, so maybe we'll even cross paths and become workout buddies

I signed up for OTF Irvine's introductory class on 10/1 through the website but realized OTF Tustin was more ideal for my commute to work. I was able to sign up for a 7:20am class at Tustin instead and for the following Monday, 10/3.
When I arrived, I was greeted by Joseph at the counter. He turned me away saying I already took multiple classes and that my email was flagged. I was confused and tried to clarify that I've never been there. Despite showing him all my texts from the Irvine location, email confirmation for my free class, and even a class confirmation on the app, he was adamant that the system wouldn't even let me go through to try out an intro class. The class was on my app, which he opted to remove for me because it was past the cancellation period (even though he was the one who turned me away.)
Joseph offered to show me the rates, which I agreed to since I was already there. He told me the only way I'd be able to attend that day was to buy a drop-in class or sign up for class pass. I tried not to get too frustrated as I felt he was just trying to do his job (in case the system truly wouldn't let him). I let him know I'd sort it out with the Irvine location as I don't want to pay for a class I have yet to try. I drove 30 minutes and even showed up 30 minutes early for orientation per instructions just to get turned away.
I called the Irvine location and their employee said she'd be in contact with Tustin to find out what happened. She was really accommodating and really empathetic, contrary to the treatment I received at Tustin. I followed up later that evening and Irvine's staff signed me up without any issue. I made sure that everything was cleared as I didn't want to be turned away again due to a system error.
I was able to connect with the Irvine employee I spoke over the phone with after finishing my introductory class. I sought clarification about why I was turned away and she stated that Joseph called that morning. She didn't see anything that flagged me on the account on her end and did not know what the issue was. He gave her a completely different email address than the one I provided. I feel he could have taken steps to double check. Instead, Joseph alluded that the system was right and insisted I already took multiple classes. I even asked which ones I attended just to figure out what was wrong, which he could not answer. He even called Irvine to ask if I was frustrated as if I was going through great lengths to get extra free classes.
Normally, I wouldn't want to complain about this matter but I felt the service provided by Joseph at OTF Tustin was extremely unwelcoming and unprofessional. Rather than try to figure out how to resolve an issue, Joseph turned me away and then called the Irvine location to ask about my reaction. It's crazy the lengths he went to be right rather than help a customer. I did sign up through another location but felt that this customer service experience at this specific location should be addressed.

Like many, I was looking to get back into a more regular gym routine post-pandemic. I was in the market for a new gym as I had cancelled my membership with my old one for various reasons. I had always heard great things about Orangetheory and decided to give it a go. It's now been few months since I've been going to OT and I absolutely love it! Melissa at the front desk is a treat!!! Thank you to her, the other front desk staff, and the amazing coaches. I'm finally sticking with an exercise routine, burning 1000s of extra calories per week in a few short hours. I love that there are always classes available, basically every hour throughout the day.

I've been working out at OTF Tustin for four and a half years. I have never before stayed with a workout plan for this long. Obviously OTF's workout is a good fit for my style; exercise compacted into one hour, variety, a welcoming atmosphere and trainers who are committed to keeping you on track without guilt. You compete against yourself while feeling the camaraderie in the room with your classmates. In addition the front desk staff remembers who you are and makes you feel welcome every time you pass through the door.

The coaches are excellent! Every workout is different. I enjoy/appreciate the specialty workouts -- particularly the creativity behind them. I love that the heart rate monitor allows me to analyze my workout and view my progress, as do the benchmark challenges.

The workouts are challenging but always doable. It’s the best hour of my day (even though while I’m in it it feels like my worst sometimes, but always worth it!). I have never once regretted stepping into the studio. The coaches are knowledgeable and approachable and the staff is absolutely wonderful. I can always tell the progress I’ve made and the goals I still have to reach, and with orangetheory I have the tools and people to help me get there.

This is a GREAT studio! I was visiting from Denver and had the privilege of plugging into three classes while I was in Tustin. Everyone from the front desk staff (Thanks Liz!) to the members and coaches are all so welcoming! I got to go to one of Jo's classes and two of Cory's. GREAT COACHES, thanks so much. I'd highly recommend this studio. I can't wait to plug into it again when I'm back visiting in this area.

There’s no point in working out if there isn’t an emphasis on proper form. This may be the best facility for OT, but the trainers are horrible. Rather than walk around correcting form, Corey just stood around looking at his phone. When a complaint was made to management, the response was “Yeah, we’ve gotten complaints, but there’s nothing we can do. Corey does what he wants and people either love or hate him.” Seriously?!!!! What type of business model is this? Since when is it okay to just take people’s money and have no regard for risk of injury? I’ve worked with a trainer for years who’s trained pro athletes and was taught form is everything. I was horrified when I saw that at least 80% of the clients had horrible form in the weight area. To allow a trainer to ignore such an import component of working out is inexcusable. Go to OT in Irvine or Rancho Santa Margarita where they actually care. Irvine facility may pale in comparison but the proof is in the pudding—-clients actually look fit.

Super positive place. Of course the workouts are incredible and we'll get you great results. But more importantly this place has a positive vibe and gives you a great support system with all the support from trainers, front desk, and members. I'm 30 pounds lighter ten years younger , and most importantly happier

Best workout you can find anywhere (hardest I've worked since high school football practice). Format encourages you to push yourself farther than you ever would on your own, all without pressure from or being singled out by the trainers.Every session is different so you never get bored, but each one is comprehensive in the muscle groups that get targeted. Always leave each workout with such a real sense of accomplishment (and a T-shirt soaked with sweat). And Cory at OT Tustin is awesome!!!

It's a very well rounded approach to fitness. I like the booking system. It creates an accountability to show up to class. My favorite part though is the heart rate monitor. I always felt so behind others before because I couldn't push myself as hard. With the heart rate monitor, it always lets me know that I am in competition with no one but myself. I don't think I've ever been so motivated to push myself harder each and every workout!

Visited this studio while on vacation in California. Staff was friendly. There was a sub coach who was great and since she didn’t know anyone she called out treadmill/rower numbers to encourage people. Only complaint was that the equipment was dusty and dirty. Seemed like the gym needed a good wipe down. Other than that, great visit.

I like the the days are not centered on one body part but more the work build. Endurance, strength, core, intensity, tornado, climb. It’s not every Tuesday is the same day either because what if I can only make it to Tuesday then I’m only working on that aspect.
I also like the circuit training and the coaches to guid you through
I like seeing my name on the board to push or slow myself down. I like visiually seeing that my heart is working and not just feeling it.
Only downside: the splat points mean nothing once you hit your 12 for the workout. Only that you worked your ass...well heart...off for more than 12 minutes.
Improvement suggestion: Wish there were incentive to achieve more splat points. Like for every 50 or 100 over your 12 you get 5 dollars off the next class or membership, or you can save up points and get OT merchandise. Or an additional class. Something to make you want to earn those extra splat points.

Cory's 6am class was challenging and high energy. I especially enjoyed how he came around and motivated people. Such a positive group to workout with. During the floor workout, he challenged me to take it up a notch on deadlifts and made corrections while encouraging me to continue. Classmates were also very supportive. I can't wait to workout here during my next visit to Tustin!

As a physical therapist I feel confident recommending OTF to patients and the community because the workouts are safe, efficient, effective, organized, functional and they target multiple systems! It's a challenge for an individual to achieve all that OTF does on their own accord. OTF is fantastic!
