I'm not a member of this club. However I've gone there to attend the Cancer Support group as well as the clinic for covid-19 vaccine. This club supports our community. This is a plus & is an asset to Oroville. God bless them!

Their jacuzzi, pool, wet/dry spa is very nice. Pumping muscle and losing weight works well here. Their yoga instructor is very considerate. I have used them for at least 2 years. I lost 40 pounds here. They have been closed due to covid since February.

Just got off work today at 630am like I WAS AWARE OF PREVIOUSLY. I admit I had disgruntled rage already from the way I was treated at anytime fitness just yesterday the 21st, only to be told I had to wait until 11am with no posts or signs stating it, nothing inside or outside... it sounds trivial but it seems like something that would make for a great courtesy for those who need to schedule early. Not even on the google search is there anything that says about 11am for getting a membership.

The only gym with pool, sauna and hot tub in he area! Very nice at one time, but the facility shows signs of wear and the Contract is something to be desired! Many details for the club but not so for the enrollee.

Classes.are.mostly catered to elderly and people with disabilities which is fine and dandy but the Pilates I was interested in was cancelled before my first day?
As for personal training, not impressive, one person does this and teaches so!e senior classes. The swim exercise is a total joke.

Appears that long time members use the club as a social place to gather, not really serious enthusiasts.

Admin.should work on modernizing to the needs of todays clientele.

The staff are nice but they are lazy I've been trying to go in the hot tub sense I'm disabled can't do wieghts. I know I just signed up a month ago still trying to get a rutien. But the first day I didn t know the times the staff said 9 on Fridays I come in Saturday and they close at 7 ok they could have told me that. The next day there was repairs, the day after that called to see is it was working they said yes. So I go down there get dressed to soak and it doesn't work. Do you see my problem . I've three hundred dollars to sign up and it's all the staffs fualt but it could be avoided with good old hard work .

I was a member for a few years, up until about a year and a half ago. I was in the locker room, changing from swimming laps, and while I was half dressed, I hear a woman say "Close your eyes." I look up and there is a woman standing in the locker room with a 10-11(ish) year old boy. I was shocked, because he had been looking right at me. When I complained to staff, along with the woman who was dressing next to me ( who said that she had had this problem before,) the staff told me that there was nothing that they could do. Their policy was that minors could enter the locker room with an adult, regardless of their age. That boy was far too old to be in the women's locker room and it was extremely inappropriate. This, in addition to the very high prices is why I left.

I say just okay. Everything is outdated, in need of a make over badly. Not sure if they are going to make it. The prices compared to Newer gyms is disappointing. I am paying a lot for out dated equipment. I also signed up because they offered child day care, however they do NOT offer it on the weekends, huge disappointment. And further more they keep both pools heated in the summer time? Why?? So now we cannot use the pools and use day care services

I used to be a member there in 2005 I was hit by a car and had to have open heart surgery. The manager of the club claims she knows my name and she says I owe an entire year when I did not go because I was hit by a car and I had to have open heart surgery.
Now I can't become a member unless I pay the sports club $1,200 because I couldn't do anything after being hit by a car and had to have open heart surgery.
What do you think this heartless woman doesn't understand?

Staff is unfriendly I had come in to find out if I wanted to use the facility but needed to take care of a few things by phone before I could since it was about 5pm.
Jessica asked me if I wanted a tour, i said not yet and she told me she needed to ask me to leave since it was for members only (I had taken a seat at the entrance to finish my phone business)
I won't be back even if I find this is the only center in this small town

I signed up so I could take classes. Unfortunately, I don't believe the class instructors are certified professionals. On several occasions, instructors were not there to give the class and without notice, someone in our class gave the class. In another class the instructor was clearly unknowledgeable about the number of reps for an exercise, sometimes, reps went beyond 50, with no breaks. I quit my membership early for this reason and was charged a cancelation fee, which was, in my opinion, unreasonable... basically half the fee I would have paid for the months left on my contract.

Easily one of the worst GYM's I've been too. I am not one to be critical but this place was one of the worst Customer Service experiences for me. For starters, this GYM require a 30 days notice just to cancel your membership. The prices are absurdly high for a GYM, $66 dollars a month (this maybe not so bad if you considered classes and other free services), however for just a place to workout that is absurd (not to mention opening cost and a early cancellation fee if you do not have a membership for at least half a year). The equipment is clearly outdated and some of the staff are very unfriendly, in fact they were straight rude regularly (so not a fluke). Lastly, if you are 26 like me the community there is considerably older, which is just a minor thing but worth noting. If you are looking for a GYM in Oroville I strongly recommend any where else, this place leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

The child care option was disappointing. The one staff member there refused to let my child play with the toys he wanted to because they had already been put away. I’m sorry but their own contract agrees to provide child care until 8:30pm, and it wasn’t even eight o’clock when I dropped him off and saw all the toys put away as the lazy staff member refused to let my child play with the toys that were put away. And, finally, the staff member stood in one place barking out denials to play with toys and relied entirely on verbal commands instead of the typical approach to engage the child then redirect his attention, she acted like she was a supervisor that was too good to physically engage my child for 30-40 minutes so I could get my abbreviated work out done...except she was the only staff there and to put it one way β€œa chief and no Indians.” And for heavens sake, there was only one other child there(an infant on top of it) and she still couldn’t manage my 4 year old child. It is my wholehearted belief that certain staff that work there aren’t happy about something and don’t get into or really like taking care of certain child types. You mean she couldn’t manage to help my child find an activity that would keep and focus their attention for 30 minutes especially considering the only other child there was the infant. What a joke. Plus their exercise machines are very scant. Definitely not the gym for me and hopefully this will help someone else avoid purchasing a membership that doesn’t even keep the contractual agreement to have the child care open until 8:30 pm, but instead put all the toys away that may require a little effort to clean up before even 8 o’clock. No wonder my child got frustrated and allegedly acted out, he was a prisoner in their child care program because she wouldn’t let him play with ANY of the toys he wanted to. It serves to note that not once on the 4-5 previous times he spent in this companies child care did anyone complain, and there were always more staff than just one working unlike this particular night this happened, when there was just one staff.

SPARE YOURSELF even walking into this place, they dont want your Business!!! and the facility is NOTHING inside really, yet they want to charge all these initiation fees up front and on the back end for Month to Month and get this, you have to sign up for 3 months to get month to month.. that defeats the purpose of doing month to month, we are only in town less than 2 months.... DONT EVEN BOTHER!! its outdated and the staff is just outright weird.....

Love the heated pool, sauna, and steam room. Is the workout equipment brand spanking new? No, but thats why I love using their workout equipment. Newer equipment nowadays is not made at the same caliber. Staff has always been pleasant.

This is a very nice gym, large with lots of natural light. The main workout room has several different types of cardio/weight machines, pully system and free weights. It has 2 gym areas for classes and stretching. There is also a small work out room for more a private workout. They have 2 wonderful heated pools, a large pool that is cooler temperature for swimming laps & a smaller warmer pool where water aerobics classes are held and individuals can workout or chill out on their own. A steaming hot jacuzzi is also by the pools. Both mens & womens locker rooms have non co-ed saunas and steambaths, plus daily no charge lockers & small lockers to rent for a monthly fee for those shower items you dont want to drag around. Towels are provided and the even have snacks like granola bars at front desk if you workup an appetite.

I travel the country full time and the only place with higher prices was a very high end, exclusive establishment. Massage with every visit type of place, training included, I could go on. That was 600 for the month, but worth it. This club, Almost 500 bucks for the month for my wife and I is an outdated dive with lackluster everything and bare minimum amenities. You can't charge Ferrari prices for an 83 Buick. I find it insulting. We literally laughed and walked out. That seems to be a trend. At in shape, I paid 69.99 for a diamond level resort, month to month including all other in shapes. 30% off gear and supplements. Discounted, not marked up like this sports club.
I'm editing this to be sure people are aware that the only good reviews are friends/ employees. The only other way u could think the place is nice, with good equipment is you're either from a third world country or you've never seen a proper gym. Google "In shape fitness" or even LA fitness, 24 hour fitness, and even most ymca's. Not even comparable. Wouldn't even let me try it out for a day. Not that I waned to once I got there and saw it. Just saying

DON'T DO IT. If you're reading this and trying to decide on a gym--Not this one. There are other gyms in the area, including regular gyms and crossfit ones that are sure to treat you better and have better facilities.

I'll start with the non-personal review first.
-They're expensive.
-They close incredibly early.
-They will try to milk you on fees- You're not a person here, you're a cash cow. (despite the fact that this is not a huge box corporation gym)
-Their equipment is outdated and there is not nearly enough of it.
-No one shows up to run their fitness classes-every time I went at least.

I am a Marine combat veteran trying to train and get myself back in shape as I'm applying for a few law enforcement jobs. It's not easy transitioning form the military to civilian life. Money is tight but I needed a gym to get back into shape and I was drawn to the fact that this gym was privately owned and operated. It's a small town community gym that would treat me like a friend/member of the community or so I thought. Not the case.

My credit card was stolen, I received a new one on the 1st of the month. Fees are due on the 1st of the month. I called on the first and paid my dues- So I wasn't late in paying my dues..... TWO WEEKS later I was called and told I would have to pay a late fee of $40 bucks. Obviously I was upset. And as I mentioned money is tight. I told the lady (Cathy) who called everything I mentioned above about paying on time and my credit card...She didn't care. I was so upset I asked what the cancellation fees were and she literally LAUGHED at me before she told me.

To sum it up, I paid my gym fees on time over the phone. But Because it was a new card they wanted me to pay $40 late fee- two weeks after the fact. Would you pay this?

If you make a stink about their questionable practices they kick you out. Two hours later Cathy gleefully called me and told me my membership had been cancelled and to find another gym.

Is this the kind of community gym you want to go to? This is how they treat people, not to mention veterans trying to make ends meet.

This might seem embellished but it's not at all- I never get nasty nor cursed at them over the phone.

Take it for what it's worth when you're deciding on a gym here in Oroville.

Very poor condition all around. I can't believe how poorly maintained this place is. The condition of the facilities here are worse than any gym I've ever seen! Rips in the 1970s carpet throughout and slack in many of the equipment joints are just asking for a lawsuit. The membership cost is about twice as much as most sports clubs and the equipment is about twice as old.
For example, the sewer backed up and covered the entire place w 6 inches of raw sewerage a few years back and they STILL have the exact same carpet in place!
Don't waste your time! This place is a joke! The owners are probably slum Lords judging by how poorly taken care of everything is here. I walked in recently and cut the tour guy off and laughed when he told me the price..!
