About the Club

Park Avenue Fitness is comprised of
three private personal training studios.
We provide one-on-one personal training
in 25 and 55 minute sessions. Small group training is also available in 55 minute sessions.

At Park Avenue Fitness we believe working out should strengthen you for YOUR life! Every person is different and needs different exercises. Your basic structure, life experiences, injuries, personality, and daily activities require a different approach than the person next to you. We do not believe in the cookie cutter approach to exercise.

Health & Fitness is exercising to enhance your quality of life, and help keep you healthy so that you can enjoy a long productive life

Jenny Alvarez: “See you tomorrow at 1:00! Anything you want to work on?”

This is a perfect example of how personal Jenny made my training. She has such a big arsenal of training techniques and physiology knowledge to keep things fresh, fun, challenging and informative. If you want her to kick your butt, she will. If you want to focus on one muscle group, she will. Highly recommend her for professionalism and mastery of her craft.

I have been beyond pleased to have discovered Park Avenue Fitness. I started with Balance class with Bryan after a fall I didn’t want to repeat. Bryan is knowledgeable and helps us progress . The other class members and I have fun in addition to improving weekly.
I added gyrokenisis with Sharron Barth. Started with one class and added another I liked it so much. Sharron is dedicated to her craft and consistently increases her knowledge to our benefit. She is kind and caring and funny. Class is fun as well as challenging.
I also have participated in small group training with Mary Doyle, the proprietor of Park Ave Fitness. Mary is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped me in so many ways. I trusted her to guide me through my recovery after shoulder surgery after PT said I was at a plateau. I have since improved greatly with her help.
I think what I love most is each class is a little community where we not only improve our physical health but our social wellbeing by creating relationships we enjoy.

I have been attending Bryan’s balance class for several months and find it so very helpful in my everyday activities. He is sensitive to the needs of each of us and structures the class to better serve those needs. He makes it fun, using balls, balloons, baskets cones etc. Since starting I am more aware of things around me that could cause a fall as well as how to keep my balance in my daily life. We do exercises to strengthen our feet and legs and homework each week to practice what we’ve worked on in class. Bryan makes me feel as if I have had a stress free hour as well as enjoying the company of my classmates, Thank you Park Avenue for providing this beneficial and fun class!

I have been going to Park Avenue Fitness for close to 2 years. My trainer, Marlyss is excellent. She always has something different for me to do each time, so I don't get bored. I’ve been working out at Park Ave Fitness for about 1-½ years and it’s the best thing I’ve done for myself. After years of on/off workouts and club memberships, PAF fits me perfectly. I love the small group training and my wonderful trainer, Marlyss.

I like how Marlyss plans and arranges workouts to fit my abilities and keeps tabs to ensure I don’t injure myself. Although I workout in a group, I still feel like I get individual attention. One of my favorite things about PAF are all the new friendships I’ve made with the other women in my workout groups. It makes working out fun.

Working out at PAF has made me more committed and accountable to myself than a club membership. I’ve belonged to clubs in the past and it’s very easy to say, “I don’t feel like it today.” At PAF, I have designated days/times for group workouts and I show up! Even when I don’t feel fantastic, I go because I know I’ll feel better afterwards.

I joined the small group training at Park Ave Fitness to get focused on better fitness, and to prioritize self care. I have found a very supportive program that caters to my personal needs. My trainer, Marlyss Bird, is a great partner for my fitness journey. She has customized my training and given me home workouts to do when I want to push myself more. Overall, the studio has all the equipment and is kept very clean. I enjoy my workouts, and am achieving my goal of getting stronger and more fit. I highly recommend Park Avenue Fitness!

I am 84 years old and walk briskly up and down stairs without touching the handrail, not to mention line dancing! I feel so strong and well-balanced - beyond stable- thanks to the amazing training I have received from Mary Doyle and her associates, for going on 4 years! I just started doing one-on-one personal training sessions with Marlyss at Park Avenue Fitness. The work outs are just right for me, Marlyss is positive and fun, and I’m starting to feel stronger and less creaky. I love the studio! It’s clean, bright, airy and she and I have a private studio all to ourselves! (There are three studios plus an outdoor patio.) As a woman over 50, this is the most comfortable I’ve been working out outside of my house. This is something I feel like I can stick with!

Mary and her group of trainers are great at what they do...helping us older folks get on a path to being more physically active in a safe and healthy workout space. Due to the pandemic they have done a super job of adapting to bring same quality workouts via zoom. I am very impressed with Mary. I have long term injuries from a car accident and when I have worked with a trainer in the past, they were often aggressively focused on the fitness side of things which was just too much for me. I really appreciate that Mary is patient and has sensitivity to those that have injuries and limitations. She will adjust the pace and the exercises to meet the needs of the specific client. I recommend her highly!

Totally impressed by Park Avenue Fitness! They have group as well as one on one sessions and online sessions as well. The trainers have high level certifications and specialize in various areas. Mary Doyle specializes in Brains and Balance post 60 and has helped out folks with dementia, etc. improve their physical functioning! All the trainers are female as well. I absolutely love Park Avenue Fitness! My wife and I are learning Tai Chi with Linda Felicio in private sessions. She is a wonderful instructor. Linda has a deep knowledge of Tai Chi and the health benefits it can achieve. My strength and flexibility have increased tremendously. My back is so much stronger, I feel years younger.
