I can heartily recommend Park East Fitness and my trainer there, Trey. With his help, I’ve achieved a substantial weight loss and solid muscle gain, surpassing my original goals. As a client of many months I can say with confidence that this gym is a gem. Park East is as far from a one-size-fits-all corporate gym as you can get. Workouts are personalized and by appointment, with trainers of deep experience. Trey’s been helping move clients forward for more than a decade. You’ll see all kinds of clients at Park East, youngs and seniors (that's me), fit and working-on-it, and folks recovering from injury. Everyone’s journey is taken seriously and supported beautifully. Zero intimidating bro culture and a cool, encouraging, can-do vibe. The space is small, super clean, with everything you need to make your hour there count. Parking is easy and safe. Value for dollar is incredible. Management is A+. If you are looking for a place truly dedicated to your progress, I can’t think of a better place to do it.

I started working with Chuck about 5 months ago after my husband started seeing great personal results. I wanted to get stronger but I was concerned about intermittent back pain that I've had for years. Chuck listened to my concerns and tailored my program with this in mind. I have a long way to go but 5 months later I definitely feel stronger and I have more muscle tone. Best of all my back has been pain free and feels healthier than it has for a long time. Strength training is giving me confidence to push my body to do more. Also, Chuck has the best disposition, he knows what he's doing so he pushes me every session but he's also kind and a pleasure to work with.

I have been working with Amit for about 4 months. I really appreciate the attention to detail and experience he brings to my work outs. I have a membership to a large gym but disliked the crowds and waiting so this is a perfect fit. Having that personal attention gives me a more efficient and safe work out. There is a great small town feel to the studio. The other trainers have been very welcoming as well. I look forward to the sessions which is not how I felt at a much larger gym.

David McKeag has been an excellent Personal Trainer for me! We moved to Long Beach a few months ago and I wanted to find an expert Trainer with deep experience working with folks over 40 years old. David is perfect! I also really like Trey, who owns the facility.
Our workouts are fun, have the right amount of challenge, and are different every time. The studio is just the right size and they have all the equipment you'll need for a good workout. And, it's always great to feel sore and sexy after a workout!

I started going to Park East Fitness during the Covid pandemic and absolutely love it. It’s a smaller more intimate gym that provides individualized training that really appeals to me. The trainers are very friendly and knowledgeable and the equipment is always in great order and accessible. Chuck Sobel and I train a couple days a week and he’s extremely knowledgeable of body mechanics and makes sure I lift properly without fear of injury. I’m in my 60s so I’m very conscious about choosing a trainer who’s priority is my health and avoiding injuries while focusing on building muscle and flexibility. My biggest past time is golf and while training with Chuck, I’ve seen major improvements in my balance and stability while club head speed has increased. Check it out! I love training with Amit Shelat at Park East Fitness. He is calm, focus and super-knowledgeable. I’m 62 and my doctor recommended strength training for balance and overall muscle toning. I’ve only been working with Amit for a few months and already I feel a huge improvement in my fitness. This is my first experience working with a trainer and I was nervous about it. But Amit immediately put me at ease with his warmth and professionalism. The workouts are challenging, but not intimidating, and the results are significant. My balance, strength, and even mood are improving; back and hip pain have disappeared. The gym itself is terrific. The trainers keep it neat and organized. The front wall is all glass and looks out to a beautiful park. I thought working out would be a chore, but with Amit it has become a highpoint in my life. Gaining strength feels amazing!

I started training here with my wife about 3 months ago. Dave, our trainer is amazing! He is a living vampire with at least 300...I mean 30+ years of experience and a great sense of humor. We go 3 times a week and find ourselves burning a few extra calories just from all the laughing we do. Obviously, you want to make sure you match well with your trainer, so I can only speak about Dave as well as Trey, the owner, who always stops to say hi and chat up a bit when he's around. Things are still very serious and Dave knows just about everything there is to know about bodies and fitness. His motto "Your pain is my pleasure", is very fitting, especially after leg day!

Masks are optional. Dave wears a mask with us as is our preference, but not required. Respect is in full supply here!

Love this gym! My husband and I were looking for a gym that accommodated COVID precautions and had an awesome personal trainer that would train us both. The space is clean and well-equipped; and Dave McKeag is the best trainer that focuses on educating us, modifying exercises as needed, and has a great sense of humor. Cannot recommend this place and Dave enough!

After a year of sitting around at home during the pandemic, I’d put on some weight and was definitely starting to feel my age (I’m 51). Tried just going to the gym on my own but felt like I was just going through the motions so I decided to look into getting a trainer.
Reached out Park East Fitness because it was close to home. They paired me up with Amit, who ended up being the complete opposite of the trainer I’d had 10 years ago at another gym. Instead of just pushing me through a formulaic workout, while shouting encouragement in my ear, Amit spent the first meeting testing my ability and flexibility, or in my case lack of flexibility.
Based on that he crafted an exercise program that worked within my physical limits and focused on improving my range of motion as well as building muscle and losing weight. I can’t recommend Amit and Park east Fitness highly enough!

We love Park East Fitness! My fiancee and I started working here 6 months ago and we have seen incredible results from working with David McKeag, our trainer. He's incredibly knowledgeable, kind but unrelenting, and always cheerful. We highly recommend working out with him.

The facilities at Park East are perfect for someone who wants a lot of flexibility in the types of exercises they want to do and a variety of weight options. Free weights go from 4 lbs up to 70 lbs and there are a variety of cable and squatting machines. The equipment is kept very tidy. During COVID, they took safety very seriously, with everyone either masking up or working outside. There's also great fans for airflow, for when you're really pushing yourself.

I have had an amazingly positive experience at Park East Fitness. I have worked with Amit Shelat as my trainer since November 2019 and my experience both pre- and post-COVID has been consistently excellent. I am overweight and really felt the need to do something about it, but I had a lot of injuries to work around when I started, as well as stuff going on in my "headspace" that impacted my attempts to get fit. Amit immediately found ways to get me moving again that were doable for me, while gently but firmly challenging me out of my comfort zone. His support has gone beyond what I could have expected from a trainer and I have always felt that I could be honest with him about how my personal challenges impact my training, which has always resulted in consistently positive and proactive support from him. When we had to go to virtual training he found ways to use the limited equipment I had at my disposal to keep my training routine in place. I have gone from barely being able to do 10 squats to being able to do 3 sets of 20. Regarding the facility itself, I love the atmosphere at this small gym - it is apparent that a lot of the clientele and trainers have built positive relationships with each other and the vibe is very friendly and familial. I have never felt judged or out-of-place in the environment that the owner Trey and his staff have created, but instead warmly welcomed and encouraged to do all that I could to improve my health and mobility. I cannot recommend Park East Fitness enough!

I can't say enough good things about Chuck Sobol. Firstly, he is enormously personable, and makes the (often dreaded) training experience very welcoming. Secondly, he is enormously knowledgeable about both anatomy and body mechanics (which his background as an engineer also facilitates), and so on any given workout he knows exactly what you should be doing to achieve your goals. Thirdly, he is very supportive and gentle during any given workout (as opposed to stringent and coercive), which makes the workout all the more desirable to be a part of. Lastly, given his knowledge of the body and body mechanics he knows exactly how far to push any given client without going too far (i.e., to the point of excessive soreness or potential injury), and so one's goals are achieved in a much more fluid fashion. If you want a terrific personal trainer, Chuck is your man!

I worked out with my trainer at Park East Fitness for over one year. It's a great gym - very comfortable and cozy without that huge, overcrowded, noisy big gym atmosphere. All the equipment I needed was provided and there was enough room to work out without bumping into people. Great location with ample parking. This lil gym is a gem! I've been going to this gym for 2 years and I only have good things to say about it. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and conversational ... not just my trainer. The equipment and facilities are always kept clean (even more so now). With COVID restrictions, they keep client safety a priority ... offering outdoor workouts with masks and social distancing.
Lastly, my trainer Dave is the best ... he provides a great, complete workout with a warm up, a challenging routine (suited for my needs), and post work out stretching (so essential). On top of that, he's a nice guy ... it's like working out with a buddy!
