When I first came to Martin, I could barely walk due to severe lower back issues. It wasn’t just the physical pain—it was affecting every part of my life. I wasn’t sleeping, I was constantly irritable, and my ability to focus and run my business was suffering.

With Martin’s support, deep knowledge, and consistent training, everything started to shift. I’m now walking with ease, sleeping through the night, and even looking forward to snowboarding again soon! Most importantly, I’m enjoying life again.

Martin is an exceptionally knowledgable professional. I came to him broken and demoralized. A former college athlete who continues to train, I have seen my share of PTs, Trainers, Doctors over the last 30 years. There is not one professional who has provided more growth and hope than Martin. I won’t trust my body to anyone else. I recently had two cervical fusions and had deteriorated over the course of year. Add that to a decade of poor movement patterns and increasing instability. I felt I was never coming back.

Martin has started me at ground zero (which is what I needed) working my neurological systems before progressing to actual movement. I can guarantee you there is not anyone in San Diego who knows more about assessing and building the human body holistically than Martin. I won’t do anything at this point in my recovery before clearing it with him. I don’t even bother to call my Drs. If you want to heal, grow and become a stronger person all around, call Martin.

I came to Martin to lose 10lbs and tone up. I worked out with him once a week for about 3 months and accomplished all of my goals. He gives you the most bang for your buck by always challenging your body every single time you work out. I made great strides physically in no time. I also did the nutrition component with him. The personalized diet played a large role in my weight loss as I have a challenging medical condition that severely limits what I can eat. He was always available for any questions or concerns. I would still be working out with him but I've had to put myself on a budget. He is super friendly and always upbeat. Highly recommend!!!

Willian Alba is an excellent and highly skilled trainer who works for Performance Training Center. After a month of training my balance has improved dramatically and my core strenghy also. As a golfer I've dropped two clubs to achieve the same distance. My accuracy and concistincy is also measurably improved. Martin' has an exceptional counter part.

Martin is a top notch personal trainer. I came to him seeking help rehabbing a chronic shoulder injury I've had trouble correcting on my own. Martin spotted some muscle imbalances that had been causing repeated re-injury. After two months, my shoulder was considerably better and I was able to get back to a more active lifestyle. Enjoying his approach and knowledge in every aspect of working out, nutrition, and preventative maintenance, I have continued to work with Martin going on 6 months now. Martin Alonzo has CHANGED my life! After asking my Physical Therapist WHAT she was doing to look SO different from the year before---buff, 20 years younger and glowing...she handed me Martin's card and said: "go see him"...so I did. YAY for me!:-) Best decision I have ever made. I have been working with Martin for 4+ months and I have never felt better in my life! I am 56 years old and I was losing my strength...it was harder to get out of a chair, I couldn't open jars, I couldn't carry heavy grocery bags etc etc. NOW I am doing 45 lb deadlifts, 15lb bicep curls and I have lost almost 25 lbs! For a gal in her late 50's that is REALLY SOMETHING. By testing my blood and urine, Martin was able to determine why my body was so out of balance, so we changed my diet, went on QUALITY supplements and are training my body the correct way. I have never ever known anyone who knows the human anatomy like Martin does. Every move I make he makes sure my body is in perfect alignment to get the ultimate benefit both in cardio and muscle toning. I was referred to Martin in late 2012 because I had chronic back pain. My insurance stopped paying for physical therapy. I used to train and be in good shape, but years of traveling for business and hotel restaurants had taken their toll. Martin applied a combination of counseling on food and strength and metabolism movements. Today I am much stronger and rarely have back pain - even when traveling! Martin has taken extensive studies on nutrition, physiology, and exercise. He is extremely knowledgeable and has helped other friends of mine as well. I recommend him and the Performance Training Center to anyone who wants to get in shape, or relieve pain, or both!!

I love working with Martin! He is the perfect blend of strict & flexible as a trainer, pushing me to improve myself and also understanding how to fit things into my life & patterns. He is an expert on all things physical and nutritional and he takes the time to explain why/how things work and why you should listen to him! In the initial analysis, he evaluated my posture, my walk, run, etc. and took into account all my existing aches and pains into the training plan. A year later, I can honestly say I feel stronger and many of those nagging pains have subsided! I went in to see Martin because I had been having allergic reactions very often. I relocated from Bangkok Thailand after I married and my life style totally changed. I put on over 20 lbs after 5 years and it didn't matter how I ate or how much I would exercise, I couldn't lose the weight. Martin suggested that I try to work out with him and follow his nutrition plan for 2 months. From October I followed his food recommendations and worked out with him 2 times a week. Believe me I was eating a lot of food, never starving myself at all, but I ate correctly and I started to come down 1 -2 lbs every week. My clothes fit better, and I started to see my body slowly improving. Most of all I didn't have allergy as often as I use to. Martin educated me a lot. He shared some good knowledge and facts about how our body works from inside out and some things that I thought I knew what was right, but it was wrong about food drink, and the way I exercise. I got rid of 15 lbs in 7 weeks working out with Martin. I feel wonderful and I am keeping up on my own for now. I am planing to go back to see him again for the next level.
