I could say I'm just a personal trainer in San Diego, but it's not true. My passion is helping people believe in themselves and that a healthy life has more too offer. You have the ability to achieve a high level of success. It's a matter of how bad do you want it. Once you make the choice to change let me help you keep that desire and maximize it with safe and effective workouts.

I’ve been training with John for about five months now, and he’s by far the best trainer I’ve ever worked with. His workouts are efficient, effective, and deliver real results without requiring hours in the gym. Just 30 minutes, four times a week, and I’ve already seen major changes in my body. My strength has increased, my body composition shifted quickly, and by month three, I looked completely different.

But the biggest shift has been internal. I used to dread working out—now I genuinely look forward to it. John’s easygoing, positive energy makes each session something I enjoy. He’s completely changed the way I view fitness, and that mindset shift has made a huge impact on my mental health. The workouts have helped me manage anxiety I’ve struggled with for years, and I feel stronger, calmer, and more grounded. Training with John has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. About a year ago I was searching the internet for a personal trainer in the San Diego area. I came across Fearless Fitness and read everything on the website! Not only was I convinced that John knew the science and the

As a long time client of John Turk, I can say he’s entirely unique w his mix of incredible competence, deep caring, consummate professionalism and maniacal focus on RESULTS. You simply cannot find a better personal trainer, but Oh he is so much more than that:

I first met John as I was preparing for a surgery, where I had to quickly get more fit prior to surgery, so as to improve my recovery. He fully understood where and HOW to focus to avoid further pain and issues, building the right muscles, connective tissues AROUND the area. I had full/quick recovery, and the surgery itself went as perfect as it did, credit to the surgeon for sure, but also due John’s work w me.

Fast forward to “getting in shape” for soccer. As I started to get back in shape for sports (tennis, soccer, etc.), John guided me through not just the build-up of strength, stamina and FLEXIBILITY, but MOST importantly, all focused on getting back in shape to compete but also to avoid injuries long term. For example, my knees suddenly starting hurting from soccer. I’ve played soccer my whole life and never had knee problems. John understood what was CAUSING the pain. Yes, the pain was AT my knees, but it had to do w a complex interaction of lack proper flexibility in a few areas (hip flexor and quad muscles), AND the need to build up specific areas of my quads, AND some improvements that were needed in my IT bands. John knows this stuff!

I write all this as an example of John’s impact: Had I gone to an orthopedic surgeon w my knee pain, what would have been the results? An X Ray or MRI, and basically guidance to stay away from soccer -- if I was lucky, that is, because surgery could have been prescribed. John’s equal parts incredible knowledge and deep caring makes ALL the difference in supporting and building your health!

Another example is when I was having shoulder pain. I DID go to a specialist, and lo and behold, they prescribed … surgery. John, on the other hand, realized WHY I was having the pain, and put me on a regimen of supportive muscle and ligament / tendon work, where in NO time, my shoulder pain had gone, and full and even improved mobility came into place. John never counters a medical professional’s opinion, he just gives you his path to work on as well.

W John, it’s like you’re getting a physical therapist, personal trainer, expert medical professional, and holistic healer, ALL in one. He is NOT about “pushing through the pain”, but ALL about understanding WHY the pain’s there, and working w you to build your body to avoid and eliminate issues. I can’t count how many times through the years I’m doing some exercise and I mention where there’s the slightest pain or discomfort, and he then tells me to do something SLIGHTLY different, and the pain goes away. Things like, point your toes inward, keep your knees at 90 degrees, or keep your back straight not arched, … Simple adjustments to help strengthen around the pain while entirely avoiding it. And then you’re on the soccer field, and your knees don’t hurt! Or you’re playing tennis, and for the first time your shoulder doesn’t hurt after! All this was and is because of John.

So, whether you’re an athlete looking to stay in shape / avoid injuries while performing at your highest levels, whether you’re recovering from an injury or surgery, whether you’re preparing for a surgery, whether you’re just looking to get back in shape, John is simply UNSURPASSED in how guides you through YOUR best path forward. Oh yes, he also gave me specific warm up exercises prior and post soccer games, to avoid the knee pain … and they work!

As another important benefit, working w John not only saves you time and anguish from pain and injuries, but also saves you $s. I can’t imagine what the cost ($s, anguish and time) of PT, doctor visits, even surgeries would be, which no doubt would have increased without John Turk.

I’ve worked w other personal trainers, and John stands alone atop his profession. I recommend him 100% enthusiastically to anyone lucky enough to work w him!

I've worked with a lot of trainers over the years and John is (hands down) THE BEST. Incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive, able to adapt on the fly to injuries or soreness, as well as to "not feelin it" or "ready to kill it" gym days. I'm hitting that mid-life stride and he has vastly improved my strength and muscle tone, and we are now working to dial in the diet (with his coaching and strict focus to help me reach my goals). He's also just an awesome human being - kind, generous, compassionate and quick with a random story that'll make you laugh! Want results? Want a workout that keeps you interested and motivated? In one word – AWESOME!!

John provides challenging exercises specifically geared/customized to/for my body, age, capabilities, and fitness goals. During our sessions, John always demonstrates each move first, then continually requests feedback and provides guidance while I’m performing my reps - “Is that ok?”, or “How does that feel?”, or “You should be feeling this here”, etc. He then listens and responds accordingly, by adjusting the weight(s), intensity and/or positioning to ensure that I’m performing each exercise correctly, in a safe, comfortable, and efficient way to reap the ultimate benefit and best achieve my goals. The exercises John has me do always leave me feeling stronger and more energized, and I began seeing improved muscle tone and ‘tightness’ within my first week of workouts!

John also encourages and supports a holistic approach to fitness, emphasizing the importance of diet and lifestyle choices in addition to exercise. John provides me with nutritional guidance and advice and offers suggestions based upon what he, himself, has found to work and help in his own experience.

John Turk is an amazing personal trainer! When I started with John I had just turned 30 and was about 20lbs over my ideal weight. I compete in equestrian show jumping, and I wanted to lose weight and gain strength to improve my riding (and my appearance). John really put in the effort to learn about the techniques I use in my sport, and was able to incorporate exercises that helped me both achieve my weight loss goals and truly improve my competitive performance.
Just as important, working out with John is fun! He’s always using different techniques in my workouts so I’m never bored. He’s very supportive and encouraging, and takes the time to explain why we do the different types of exercises. The detailed nutritional guidance that John provides is extremely helpful. I had never really known what I should be eating, but John helped me set up a personalized balanced diet that is sustainable, focusing on health and wellness. John Turkyilmaz has been my trainer since Nov 2017, and this review is long overdue.

I am so thankful that I found John through researched on the website comparing to some of the best personal trainers in San Diego. I can't say enough good things about John.
Personally, I was skeptical about personal trainers for the longest time, for a number of reason reasons:
1) They are expensive
2) Do not always customize the program
3) Boring routine workout
4) Trainers don’t really care
John is none of those things. Since my initial orientation with him, I was impressed of his physique being over 50’s. Having the same age, he became my role model right away. He knows what my needs and goals are that’s why I needed a personal trainer like him.
Prior to seeing John, I have weight issue and shoulder issue due to frozen shoulder. I worked out on and off and still continue to gain. I was unhappy, unhealthy and felt hopeless at age 55.
I realized I needed a trainer who will motivate me, guide me on how to meet my objective, trainer who can train me how to use the proper the equipment for a certain type of exercise, show me the correct posture how to exercise and not only made me do routine workouts like treadmill, etc.

I have yet to repeat any of my workouts with John. The workouts were always challenging and fun at the same time. Each time we did something different and I could feel results almost immediately. They never are boring. He made me workout gradually because of my shoulder condition, but somehow John manages to improve the condition of my shoulder, the weight loss and physical form of my body. He gives his clients his undivided attention and he ensures the routine is being executed properly to avoid being hurt. He has a personal concern on personal safety and overall well-being of his clients. John is a true professional and extremely knowledgeable, friendly and intelligent. It never ceases to amaze me how dedicated he is to his business.

If you are looking for a personal trainer that actual cares about health/wellness/fitness and his clients, John is the man for you. Look no further. I am very lucky to have found him. In my 3 months working out, I see the big difference on my physique, well-being and the range of motion of my arm is back to normal where no PT can replicate what he did in a short amount of time. A hidden gem for sure and I will to continue my personal training with John.

I have had back pain for nearly 15 years. I have seen a chiropractor multiple times each week for that same amount of time. after a dozen sessions with John, i not only no longer needed to see the chiropractor....but my back just didn't hurt. John started me at a place where i wouldn't get hurt and focused on the weak parts of my body (ie. cause of back pain). Over the past year i have become more flexible, stronger and with a lot less pain. I'd highly recommend John in the case you have pain, as he focuses on your body and not on only his program. Get Stronger from the Inside Out

I've been training with John Turk from Fearless Fitness for about a 6 weeks and it's been a positive transformational experience.

I'm in my early 30's with about 10 years of desk-jockeying as an Engineer. I love to stay active playing ice hockey, running and cycling but kept getting injured and having a hard time playing at the level I wanted to compete at, as well as gained some body fat and lost a lot of strength. I knew I needed a trainer to help me perform, get me back into a routine, exercise correctly, and accountable in getting my butt to the gym every day. During my trainer search I was overwhelmed by the options here in San Diego. After working with John I was so grateful I found him. John is patient, easy to work with, available for questions, provides a nutrition plan, extremely knowledgeable, has professional bodybuilding experience, sports experience, injury experience and an inspiration himself to be in such incredible shape within his 50's.

Immediately after starting, John was able to pinpoint my weaknesses and flexibility deficiencies then create a plan to meet my goals. It's been hard work so far, but the course that John has set me on is laying the foundation to build up my strength for the long-run from the inside-out. There were a bunch of exercises that I just embarrassingly couldn't do, because I didn't have the strength. With our work, I can now perform them (not perfectly) but enough that I've made valuable gains. This has translated into explosive speed and strength on the ice and respectably improved running times in just a couple of weeks. I also feel better physically, mentally and my posture has also improved giving me a taller stature (instead of my slouchy desk back). I'm so exciting to see my abs are popping out after so many years, I'm shedding pounds, and my arms are getting bigger too. I've been so happy with my progress that I've extended my program for another six weeks. Overall, I highly recommend John as your trainer - he will make you stronger from the inside out.

If you have the chance to hire John Turk as your personal fitness coach - GRAB IT!
John is not only extremely knowledgeable about the human body, but he takes an even sided approach to his clients. Meaning he's not just a glorified rep counter, but actually looks at you as a complete picture, taking into account not only your physical capabilities, but also your emotional stamina, your diet, and your mental endurance. He might kick your you-know-what in the gym, but he's not going to push you past where he knows you can't go- yet. The thing I think I like best about John, he's not going to blow a lot of sunshine, if you know what I mean. He is very truthful and realistic about helping people meet their fitness goals. I worked out with John T a number of times, usually in a group training session with one other person. He's very creative, safe and motivating. I'm not always the best at form, but he doesn't make me feel dumb or rushed when showing me the moves. He's incredibly knowledgeable and easy to get along with too. I hope to find another trainer like him in Chicago since he moved to San Diego...

From meals to workouts to accomplishing my personal goals, most of which where to get better at Rock Climbing. I am not climbing harder and better than ever, and give the credit to John's excellent planning.
