What began as a solo journey offering individual clients Pilates instruction, has moved to a larger studio offering small group classes as well as private individual classes. Booked on ClassPass, very aesthetically cute inside. Once I arrived no one greeted me, the owner/instructor proceeded to talk about her wedding to a group prior. I probably stood there for about 5 mins until I felt uncomfortable enough to walk out. So unfortunately I did not try the class but not very welcoming also noted it was freezing in there so that was pretty uncomfortable as well. I have 2 stars for the aesthetic

Nic out did herself yet again and opened one of the most exquisite bespoke/pilates studios in all of San Diego. As soon as you walk in the elegance of the space warms you. The classes taught by Kat were fun, motivating, and insightful. Definitely would recommend to check them out!!

I have been working and training with Kathryn for about 3 months now, and I have been very happy with the experience, results, and working relationship.
I had very simple and broad goals at the start; I had not exercised regularly since the birth of my daughter 5 years ago, and I wanted to feel healthier and stronger. Kathryn and I talked through these goals, and she has designed our workouts such that I can feel myself getting stronger, sleeping better, and I feel in better health overall.
Kathryn's strength is in how she listens, checks in, and adjusts our workouts accordingly. It is what I appreciate most about her. She checks-in on how I am feeling before and after a session, and she cares about how I feel we are tracking to my goals. She adjusts her approach and workouts based on my feedback.
Kathryn is an excellent instructor and coach, building a relationship with me so that I can achieve my own fitness goals.
Update - 3 years later and I’m still taking pilates with Kathryn. Love the new studio!

I am a fairly active senior 85+, who has had Pilates with Kathryn more than 3 years. I stopped going several weeks ago, mistakenly thinking I was too old to continue. During those weeks my balance became questionable and my strength was waning. I had not realized my agility was a result of Pilates. I recently returned to Pilates with Kathryn and I am certain, under her direction, I can regain what I lost.
I might note, I also missed being in her company every week, and that relaxed feeling after a session with Kathryn.

If I’m being honest, five stars isn’t enough for Kathryn! For a while, I had been hoping to find a small class or one on one because I have many physical issues so I knew I needed guidance while doing Pilates. After trying elsewhere and not finding a fit, I found Kathryn who I have now been working with weekly for three months and she is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I feel myself getting more balanced in my body and strengthening the areas that so desperately needed strengthening. Not only is she an incredibly kind human being, but she is so amazingly wise regarding the body and movement and I have never felt so safe and inspired while exercising. She meets you where you’re at so whether you’re already a Pilates champion or just starting out, whether you’re young or old, Kathryn will help you in the exact way that’s best for you and your body. Kat is an extremely supportive and encouraging Pilates teacher. She's very patient with Pilates novices and does a great job of breaking down complex moves. Her classes are challenging and enjoyable, as well as a great stress reliever. She's skilled at tailoring workouts to individuals and is very conscientious about ensuring students learn proper form. I highly recommend Kathryn as a Pilates instructor. I began Pilates in 2014 in a wonderful studio that no longer exists. Kathryn not only brought back that environment, but the breadth and depth of her knowledge has been amazing. I'll start off by writing that Kathryn is a wonderful instructor. I have done sports, group workout classes and gym memberships and I never really felt comfortable or at ease. My one-on-one sessions with Kathryn have given me so much insight on my body from mobility, strength, posture and healing. I had never done pilates before, which was not a problem at all. She eased me into it while at the same time helping me progress within each session. I don't see myself ever stopping my sessions, she is so easy to talk to, makes every session fun to the point where you can probably hear our laughter down the hall. Its like getting a fun workout in with a friend.

Before working with Kathryn, I was heavily focused on weight training with a personal trainer, but I started experiencing severe body pains. My right wrist was painful and wouldn't bend properly, my lower back was constantly hurting, my knees were in pain, and my body felt stiff. Realizing I couldn't continue this way, I decided to give Pilates a try, something I had always wanted to do.
I reached out to Kathryn via Instagram and scheduled our first session. After that initial session, I was immediately drawn in. In addition to Pilates, we incorporated some weight training as per my request. Thanks to our sessions, my body no longer aches, and my wrist is gradually improving. After months of contemplation, I finally gave Pilates a try. Going in as a beginner with no prior Pilates experience, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But after just a few sessions with Kathryn, I knew I'd found a much-needed workout routine. Kathryn is pleasant and a skillful trainer. I have tried other pilates studios before, including Club Pilates, but have never achieved the results I am finally getting from working out with Kathryn. I have always had bad posture and a history of back pain. After working out with Kathryn for more than 6 months, my core and back are stronger than ever. I was impressed when Kathryn was able to articulate why I had difficulty with doing squats or certain exercises, and knew exactly what muscle groups to work on to improve my mobility. I always feel challenged every session, and every movement on the reformer is done with purpose. I’m so grateful to have found Kathryn and always look forward to my next session.

I have no words to describe how awesome Kathryn’s instruction is.
I have been doing Pilates for a year in Alpharetta, GA and quite frankly even when I travel in USA or abroad I love to continue taking Pilates classes. It makes me feel more energized and close to my exercise routine.
This summer, I traveled to San Diego for a week and was fortunate enough to schedule a couple of private classes with her.
Her studio is neat, well equipped and above all peaceful.
During my first class, Kathryn was able to pinpoint with accuracy what areas I needed more guidance in my form and how I could strengthen my performance.
On my second class, Kathryn’s instruction challenged me to a higher level and I was able to do plank positions at ease and with confidence without hurting my back.
She brought to me awareness of simple body adjustments in my form that made me feel stronger and confident as I have never felt before.
Kathryn has a kind and loving personality that inspired me to do better not just as a Pilates student but as well as a better human being.

Katheryn is the most knowledgeable and a talented pilates instructor you can find in San Diego. I’ve explored many different pilates studios in San Diego before I met Kathryn. She will fix your forms, make you strong, design sessions for your specific needs, AND make pilates fun! She is a down-to-earth person who truly cares and is always willing to share fitness advice. I sit at a computer all day long and since Covid have adopted sedentary lifestyle which has caused many health issues. Knowing that I need to increase mobility, flexibility, and strength to improve posture and relieve pain, I decided to start pilates. Naturally I was apprehensive because I knew it was going to be difficult and I would not stick to it.

Kat is the most professional and encouraging Pilates instructor in San Diego! She was introduced to me by a close friend who also suffered from knee injuries and has seen significant improvements within weeks of taking private lessons with Kat.
I came to her with a desire of getting back to my favorite activities Dancing and Beach Volleyball because it has been six months since I stopped working out completely. She not only listened attentively, but also quickly put together a plan of exercises to steadily strengthen muscles around my knee and increase my overall body awareness. In as short as four weeks(1 X per week), my glutes started firing up for the first time of my life and my knees no longer had to take up a ton of pressure. We are still working on training my mind to use the knee that is no longer unstable; it is not an easy task because our brain is so stubborn, but with Kat's expertise and thoughtful planning, I am more convinced than ever that I will be able fully recover and be stronger than ever before!
She challenges me all the time but with so much gentleness and kindness. I could not imagine this progress to be possible without her help! Therefore, I strongly recommend her private lessons to anyone who is in the process of healing, recovery and change. Two things that also touched my heart were 1) she timed the session when we spent assessing my needs and situation, and made up for that in our second class; 2) she showed me how to use trigger-point foam roller to release the tensions all over my body after daily exercises. This definitely helped speed up my recovery! I know private lesson is not a small investment, but compared to the life-time benefits you could reap, I definitely recommend giving it a try with Kat!!

Kathryn is absolutely amazing as a private Pilates instructor. I moved to San Diego in the beginning of the year, I regularly work out at the gym but I always wanted to try Pilates but I’m a little shy when it comes to signing up for group classes of any kind. When I get Kathryn and found out she was teaching Pilates from her home and recently having received her Pilates machine I was instantly excited. The idea that I could skip the group classes and have 1 on 1 Sessions with her instead was a no brainer for me. I had absolutely no idea what to expect and what Pilates was all about. I can’t emphasize enough how sweet, wonderful and professional she is. She really makes sure to show you how an exercise is performed, she makes sure her clients focus on breathing and on posture. I’ve had a few sessions now and I’m always looking forward for my next one. After my session is completed my whole body just feels amazing! I’m already seeing some results and I’m also learning to incorporate some things she taught me in my lessons, like keeping shoulders down when performing certain upper back targeting exercises. Don’t hesitate! Wether you are advanced or a beginner, Kathryn is a great instructor for all levels of Expertise. You will look forward to every session with her.

I’ve tried many forms of exercise over the years and couldn’t find something that would help me improve my mobility until I started Pilates. Kathryn offers group classes along with one on one private sessions and I have to say they are the best I have EVER taken.
She always considers any injuries or ailments within the body to ensure you’re not in any sort of risk during any movement.
