I’ve been working with Ken for 2 years now and have grown tremendously in my core strength, stability, and ability to move my body as a system - not just parts. I am a violinist. I have worked with Ken Gilbert for 14 years. I am continually amazed that in every class I take with him that he finds, and shares new awarenesses about how the body works. I would not to be able to play my violin as much and frequently as I do if it weren’t for his constant demand of all of us that we remain present and aware and capable in our bodies In everything we do. Ken is an amazing Pilates instructor and coach. I have been going to classes for several years and it has made an amazing difference in my body. How could I (or anyone) get to be 60+ and not know how to properly operate the one body I was issued?
I have never stuck with a “fitness program” for long, so it is impressive that Ken Gilbert’s classes have become a permanent entry in my calendar around which the rest of life revolves. His knowledge of and passion for the work, the supportive environment of the class, and the results I’m seeing in myself will keep me coming for years. One long-term member of our class is over 90; a true testament to the value and effectiveness of Ken’s teaching.

I am a 17 year old lacrosse player and have worked with Ken Gilbert for the past few months. I originally got into Pilates due to my grandparents, but quickly became drawn in by Ken’s vast knowledge and the experience, since then I have boosted my athletic abilities and most of all my awareness within body. I am a 70's something woman and I have been working with Ken Gilbert for two plus years in his downtown Santa Barbara studio setting. It is a very comfortable and safe environment. My individual pilates sessions are personal and address my needs. Some bodywork involves breaking old habits, and some work helps me discover how to put the parts and pieces of my body together in a new and healthy way. I realize now that everything is connected.
Ken is methodical, respectful, supportive and encouraging as he works with me, and helps me to move forward in a positive way.
I have worked with other pilates instructors over the years, however none of their work compares to the standards held by Ken!
