They make body-shaming comments about customers, and the coaching is far from professional. The instructor only shouts commands without correcting posture, and the attitude throughout the class was impatient and discouraging.

This business doesn’t provide any receipts or invoices and she only accepted payment through her personal account or cash, and didn’t give any receipt afterward.

No receipts, no invoices, looks like tax evasion.

Careless instruction and verbal bullying!

the instructor she responded“I never do hands on corrections in my classes. I only give verbal cues.” (That was her exact quote.)when we specifically asked if she could help adjust our position.

2. Verbal bullying.

After knowing that I regularly lift weights, she started making rude and comments about my body. “Look at your back it looks so ugly because of your weight training.”

(“So ugly”“这么难看”was her exact quote.)

If she had simply pointed out something objective like “your back muscles are a bit developed,” I would have been fine with that.
But calling someone’s back muscles“ugly” makes me question if she likes gaslighting and PUA client and what exactly kind of person she is.

3. Unfair treatment and favoritism.

This was a small group class with three students, yet she spent most of her time standing next to the client who had bought long term sessions, correcting only her positions. The rest of us were left on our own, just copying movements without any real guidance.

4. Off topic conversations.

Instructor often talked about irrelevant topics during class. For example, she said “Fishing costs over $3,000, only rich people do that,” and similar random things that had nothing to do with Pilates. It was distracting.

I finally decided to try Pilates as my second pregnancy really did a toll on my body and I was in pain just doing everyday chores and carrying my babies. I found Zhen Pilates and they offer a trial session so I went to give it a try. I could tell the release just after the first session so I immediately sign up for the postpartum private sessions. The owner Zhen Zhendu carries a can do attitude and tailored her lessions to each individual. She is a lovely friend now and encourages self control and empowerment. Her sessions are never dull and now it's become part of my weekly getaway from mom duties.

小班和私教都上过了，目前我自己的小班比较多主要因为我的时间不大灵活，我只能固定日子下班来，还好老师们接受傍晚的课哈哈！
