I just had a zoom session with Mia and it was incredible. It was my first time doing yoga/pilates and she was so thorough and accommodating! It’s really eye opening to how much the body is connected! I would recommend Pilates essence to anyone willing to take control of their body and health. Mia is a Fantastic teacher and an unbelievably patient! A great experience for a first time yoga learner!

Did my 1st Pilates session with Mia and I got way MORE than I expected!

As a triathlete, I put my body through the wringer! I came in with a little tender in my ankle, and these movements actually assisted it back to neutral!

I was sweating, stretching, breathing more then I’ve done probably ever. Very knowledgeable at her craft and will definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you so much Mia!

Mia is a wonderful, intuitive instructor. I am a very active man who participates in a lot of strenuous sports in my mid-50s. I run and move quickly. I credit Pilates for keeping me fit to play and move well. When I walk in to a session with Mia, I feel like she intuitively gets what's going on and starts a session addressing the things I need most for that time. Came to do breathworks and Pilates to try something new and get out of my comfort zone. Mia was nothing but welcoming, patient and experienced.

The breathworks I took part in was a total surprise. It was truly a breathing exercise session with a big emphasis on the exercise portion. I found myself very calm and relaxed afterwards.

The pilates was also my first time and it was both challenging and enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised by how activated some of my muscle were afterwards and especially how I was guided to train specific muscles I had never trained with conventional means!

Mia is an awesome instructor and she makes you feel right at home. I can clearly tell she knows her stuff and the immediate results do not lie. I would highly recommend her for either breathworks or pilates sessions. 💯

Mia is amazing! I was lucky enough to take my first pilates lesson privately with Mia while in town this summer. Everything exceeded my expectations! From her knowledge of the equipment and one's body and where you are struggling Mia's attention to detail is unparalleled.  Having never been on a reformer or any pilates equipment before I was afraid of feeling awkward, doing something wrong and Mia made me feel comfortable right away. I have chronic back issues and Mia was able to provide modifications where needed to ensure my practice was helpful not hurtful. I only wish I lived closer! Mia is a gem! I wanted a workout for my 15 year old daughter that would incorporate body awareness, strength training, and core work. With a developing body and self esteem, I wanted someone who would help nurture a healthy body image. Finding Mia was perfect!. I was very skeptical about Pilates but after only two months, Mia Rey’s Pilates Essence changed my body. My instructor, Titia, was sensitive and patient when I first began. I was stiff and in a lot of pain following knee replacement surgery. Within the first few sessions I started to get major relief and after 10 sessions, I not only felt a big increase in my strength and flexibility, but I could literally feel my spine straightening and lengthening. Titia’s careful emphasis on proper form and ability to work with my unique challenges really helped me attain new levels of health! I have just recently returned to practicing Pilates and I am so happy that I did. This is the one place where I can go and really escape the craziness of life and focus on me. Mia has an AMAZING way of engaging her students and making them want to learn more. It is obvious that she LOVES her job! Her style of teaching is to take you on a journey as you learn the discipline of Pilates. With Mia you are not just going through the motions of every movement, but you are learning and understanding why and how each movement affects your overall body. Her teaching and expertise have really helped me understand and appreciate the benefits of Pilates. In my daily life outside of the studio I can often times hear Mia’s voice telling me to “tighten up my midline,” “suck in my stomach,” or “sit up taller.” Haha...trust me! This is what you want your Pilates studio and instructor to be like. The studio is easy to find and to find parking in. The equipment is clean, there are serene hardwood floors, and there is no lack of high-quality equipment. With Marie, you find a good instructor who loves the Pilates in the classic sense, so while she is personable , she checks your every move to have the correct form and benefit to your body and work-out. My working with her not only helps my core and my posture, but also helps get all those kinks and stiffness out of my upper back or neck. Please do consider her for your next Pilate experience.

Pilates Essence is my first experience with Pilates and with the help of Marie, I have fallen in love with this form of movement. I am the type of person who runs marathons, hikes, bikes, works out with weights, paddles canoes - anything to make my heart race and create a strong physic - but after experiencing Marie's Pilates instruction, I have put most of that aside and focused only on Pilates and in a few months, I have done more for my body than any of the above exercises.
