Pilates Heartcore is truly amazing. The studio is beautiful and has every type of pilates equipment. The instructors give individualized corrections and make sure the equipment is used safely. Each class is unique, exciting, and well planned out. There is a culture of respect and body positivity so that everyone feels comfortable and accepted. The pricing is also extremely reasonable. An overall wonderful place to practice Pilates!

My wife first convinced me to try a class at Heart Core Pilates, and I’ll admit, I was skeptical. I figured I’d be stretching a bit, maybe working my core a little, and mostly just showing up to be supportive. Fast forward to now, me and my wife are competing over what classes we go to.
Katie (the owner) is awesome, super friendly, super knowledgeable, and somehow makes you forget you’re actually working hard. The vibe in the studio is really relaxed and fun, but don’t get me wrong, you’ll still get a legit workout. I leave every class feeling like I did something good for my body (and sometimes question all my life choices during plank holds).
What I also love is how flexible the pricing is. You can do single classes, buy a package, or go with a monthly subscription depending on what works best for you. No pressure, no weird salesy vibe, just options that actually make sense.
Honestly, if you’re looking for a place that’s low-key, fun, and still gives you a great workout, Heart Core is it. Just don’t be surprised if you start looking forward to Pilates. I definitely didn’t see that coming.

For the past three years, my wife and I have been doing Pilates with Katie's Studio. I am a 70 year old guy and I feel better now than I did when I was in my 50’s. My lower back and hips were often tight, stiff, and sore. Like most people, I was in a few accidents when I was younger. In my 20’s, I began seeing a chiropractor, and in my 50’s, I started getting massages. Usually this brought relief, but it was temporary. Our daughter, who attends Katie's studio, explained how Pilates strengthens your body and tightens your core. My wife began five years ago and kept telling me how better she felt.
We live in Iowa and are only able to go to Katie’s studio when we are visiting California. So we are grateful that she offers online classes. I started doing online Pilates twice a week. Within a few weeks I noticed that I felt better.
After a year - Wow, this really works! I noticed big improvements. After three years, I feel awesome! I believe that since my muscles and body had not been used correctly for so long, they didn’t know what normal was. Pilates retrained them. I notice that I walk differently and stand up straighter, and seldom have hip pain. Pilates with Katie (and Heather) has been a huge benefit for me!
REMEMBER - Katie offers two online Virtual-Mat sessions each week. And online classes are only 1/2 credit.
These are great classes that you can do at home.
- Sundays at 11:00, taught by Katie
- Thursdays at 10:30, taught by Heather

This studio is a gem! The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging, and make every class feel personalized. They have lots of options to modify workouts tailored to your unique needs since the classes are small. I’ve noticed an improvement in my core strength and posture since starting here. The studio is gorgeous, clean, calming, and welcoming. I feel very comfortable here.

So over that pasts months, I have been in the process of getting myself into better shape. I have dropped 75 pounds since February of this year, and wanted another modality of exercise other than the gym. I have challenges with my knees and rotator cuff on both sides, and Katie said "no problem" we can work with that.
I have looked at many various Pilates studios and decided on Pilates Heartcore. My intro class with Katie was NEXT LEVEL. She was kind, patient and knew what she was doing.
That said, I signed up for a package of classes and my first class with Lyndsie was WOO WOO! If the other instructors are like my first two I am so good.
I think I have found a new home. Thank you for having this studio and making Pilates FUN!
Kind Regards,
Gil

I love this studio! The facility and equipment are clean, warm, spacious, and comfortable. The staff are some of the most caring, knowledgeable, funny, warm, accepting, and supportive women I've ever experienced in a "work out" environment. Try Heartcore Pilates studio and staff for yourself. 🤗

I've been a customer of Pilates Heartcore for over 6 years now, and they are simply the best. When I started I was looking to improve flexibility and core strength after decades of back and joint issues. And Katie and her team of instructors helped me make real improvements in my quality of life over the years, despite my physical challenges. They take into account my limitations and help me get the most I can out of the practice. They are all wonderful people who will work with you and respect the time and effort you put in, as long as you respect the time and effort they put in. If you are looking to start learning Pilates, there is no better place to learn. If you already practice Pilates and want to good place to keep up and advance, this is the place. If you are a strong practitioner, I'm sure the more advanced classes will push you more than hard enough.

I've been going to Pilates Heartcore for almost a year and a half. I love all the trainers! They sparkle with irreverent humor while leading thoughtful workouts. I feel so fortunate to have found this studio. The owner has created a top-notch business, with a clean, spacious and well-organized program. The web site is easy to use for scheduling. Most importantly, I feel good when I go to class and feel lasting benefits in my posture, strength and we-being.

I love Heartcore Pilates, the owner Katie and all the instructors. Katie keeps the studio Extremely clean (like you can eat off the floor type of clean) and ensures everyone understands the expectations. She is funny and encouraging and knows her stuff!!! I often share her funny anecdotes with my husband and I appreciate her honesty and openness with her students. Everyone in my circle knows not to mess with my Saturday morning class schedule. I get grumpy when I can't attend my BURN class. I've had other instructors as well and they are great. If you are in the Rancho Cordova, Anatolia, Mather area, it is close by and easy to get to. I know others that travel a distance to get there. I HIGHLY recommend!!!

I found PHC after moving to the area and needed to find something to keep me off the couch. Over the course of the past year, I have definitely built strength, increased my flexibility and genuinely enjoyed going to my classes. It is a supportive community and I love seeing folks from all walks of life participate in the classes. The gal who gave me my flu shot this year was impressed with my muscle definition in my arms - first time anyone has ever complimented my muscles. I am stronger because of PHC - thank you!

I've been going to PHC regularly for a little over three years now. I love this studio and it's owner, Katie, who has managed to cultivate a wonderfully diverse community of people of all body types and sizes. Even the instructors exhibit that diversity, proving that Pilates is for every body. When life is difficult, coming to this studio has been a life saver. It is a true refuge.
I read the reviews calling Katie unhinged and rude because she enforces her standards and policies. Her policies are well thought out to ensure that every student gets what they need during class so that instructors aren't spending the class fussing with new students who don't know how to use the reformers. The studio's student community is suspiciously lacking in jerks. She must be doing something right. The instructors are personable, funny, considerate, warm, and professional. Katie, too. They know what they are doing.
The intro class is $10 ($10!!!) I did the 2 privates at a manifestly reasonable intro price to get myself oriented when I first started. Although I'd been practicing mat pilates for a while, the reformer was new to me. PCH was in a smaller location with only 6 reformers to a class and 1 private room. It has since expanded to 8 reformers in a class and 2 privates rooms, including one with a Cadillac Reformer and another that can host duets. I love this place. It's changed my life and how I move.

I just read the other one star reviews of this place and wholeheartedly agree. This woman, Katie, is a bizarre piece of work.
I signed up for a class that worked with my schedule, and instead of asking me any questions to determine my experience, etc, she canceled the class and told me I needed to come in for a private(expensive)or basic session at THEIR convenience. This is because she has so much "compassion" for all her clients, not including me, and doesn't want an inexperienced schlub around. Yes, her nasty insults to a complete stranger trying to patronize her business was a dead giveaway of her "compassion".
Her website is a mess, so I just told her to please refund my money. Well. One does not question the Queen. She said she'd refund me, but that I wasn't "welcome" in her place of business because "clearly, I am a close minded neophyte not interested in learning how to do pilates correctly." My, how very astute. Summing up a complete stranger based on one short email.
Every now and then you run into an insane person who doesn't have the slightest clue of how to deal with the tiniest bump in the road. Can you imagine them in a crisis? Would you want someone like that anywhere NEAR you and your fitness journey?? Brrr. No.
She has an itch on for Club Pilates and badmouths them constantly. I am in town for short periods and don't live here, so I don't know from any of them. But I do know there are other studios and I will indeed, go elsewhere. See? I'm already following her suggestions!
I went to EPY near Rancho Cordova, but wanted a midweek class. On revisiting the EPY site, they do have one and I signed up for it.
The instructor at EPY was so chill- she took my mobility limitations in stride, gave me alternatives, and helped me out without neglecting any other students. A good class experience was had by all.
I saved Krazy Kristie's emails if anyone wants to see them. I was flabbergasted that a business owner was so unprofessional. I wouldn't go near her place now if classes were free and came with caviar and coupons.
It crossed my mind I might have to contact the police, her emails were so over the top. I finally blocked her and ended her fun.

I started 2 weeks ago and had the basic newbie class with Katie and then the restore class with Nicole. I loved every second when I was at PHC. English is not my first language, so I was very nervous about not being able to follow the instructions well. However, Katie and Nicole are patient and very passionate about what they are doing, which helped and motivated me a lot. Even though I haven't had classes with all the instructors, I know they are all amazing and really care about members’ health and wellness. Also, the newbie class is only $10. Pricing at PHC is very reasonable and student-friendly with all the benefits that members can get from pilates.

I started going to Pilates Heartcore in October 2022. At the time I was struggling to find my favorite form of exercise. Going to the gym was just so daunting because i had to plan my workout routine. I found PHC online and decided to give it a shot. The basics class was $10 and super fun. I didn't feel like i had to compete with anyone, and i didn't feel judged for any reason whatsoever. "What will people think" is usually what stops people from going to the "gym". I didn't feel that feeling one bit here. 1.5 years later, i come to pilates 3-4 times a week and it's my only form of exercise besides walking, hiking etc. My core is much stronger than before, my legs and glutes visibly look different and i feel stronger in my whole body. My body is firm to touch now. The prices are very fair for the quality of classes instructors bring in. Each one of the instructors are aware of any body issues students may have and will help you modify the exercise for that specific body concern. They were very mindful when i had hurt my lower back.
Just do it. the basics class is fun and only $10 plus the instructors are funny.
For those who are complaining about Katie being rude - she's just got a sense of humor. Some people understand humor, but some don't. She cares about her students very much. She cares ALOT.
For all the ethnic people - i personally didn't know many brown people who do pilates. This studio helped me realize that Pilates wasn't JUST a rich Caucasian lady sport. Pilates is for all ethnicities!

Edit in response to Katies reply:
To clarify - i did not ask her to register my wife because "she was too busy". I reached out as i was having technical issues with the website. It wouldn't allow me to sign both of us up - so I reached out to and was told that it essentially "isn't her problem". She informed me that she was "too busy" to help clients register and that if we couldn't figure it out - maybe it wasn't a fit.
In the email she referenced in her comment below, I tried to take responsibility for the tension in the conversation only as an act of being the bigger person. I recognized I was speaking to someone who didn't have any customer service skills and gave her the benefit of the doubt - maybe she had a bad day. I even tried to compliment her to try and get some kindness from her. Obviously, that didn't work. Her assertion that I was "abusive" in my emails is laughable, although I did make it clear that she was providing subpar customer service and I expected more from a business I was going to be giving hundreds of dollars per month to. Go figure, right? lol
However, her responses continued to be incredibly rude - so I asked for a refund and will never recommend this studio. Look at her tone of voice in her responses to people. She's an AWFUL person to deal with.
Katie - Im sorry you're a miserable woman and can't treat prospective clients with kindness. If you cant both run your classes AND provide customer service - maybe you shouldn't own a studio. It's obviously too hard for you to do well. You are by far one of the most rude, unhinged people I have ever met in the fitness community. You need to humble yourself. And your response "I do have a strong, amazing personality that people have a hard time forgetting- I get it" - is literally unhinged. You need mental health support.
And for what it's worth, we have had NO issues with Humani, and they are MORE than happy to assist clients with whatever issues they may have. Their staff are professional and kind in a way that I dont think this woman could ever be. DO NOT GO HERE if you value your money or being treating with kindness and respect.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I almost signed up here a few months back but Katie (the owner) was so incredibly rude that I didn't even follow through with taking a class. I was having trouble with their website and she essentially told me "too bad". I asked for help and expressed that as the owner, I would hope she'd provide better customer service - and she got indignant and even more rude. She's mean and refuses to take any responsibility for how she talks to people - everything is someone else's fault. When i recently posted this on Yelp, she commented and tried to attack me personally instead of taking any accountability for the way she treats people. Yelp also has other reviews talking about how rude she is. Don't give Katie a dime of your hard earned money if you care about being treated with kindness and respect.
Go downtown to Humani Pilates! They are actually nice and professional!

This place is AMAZING!! All of the instructors are friendly, down to earth, and have a great way of keeping you engaged during class. The class sizes are small so that they can help students out during class without interrupting the flow. I am so not an athletic person and have never once felt pressured or pushed during classes or private sessions. They go at your pace and talk you through the hard parts.
I am absolutely loving this Pilates studio and am looking forward to seeing my personal growth through out this year.

I'm SO thankful for the virtual classes offered by Pilates Heartcore during these crazy COVID times! Their instructors are fantastic, offering clear instructions for each exercise so it's easy to follow along at home. Classes leave me feeling strong and healthy and more grounded in my body. They also have in-person classes if that's what you're looking for. Thank you so much, Pilates Heartcore!!

I love Heartcore Pilates. This studio doesn't care what you look like or how you're dressed. They provide a safe space to work with highly trained and experienced instructors who will work your A@@ off, but are also conscious of each person's abilities and any limitation they may have. If you can swing it, I highly recommend one-on-one sessions too.

Katie and her staff are great and help keep you engaged. I started Pilates to help me get over a knee injury from running but now enjoy it almost as much as running. During lockdown the virtual classes have helped me get stronger in general and I soon found myself logging personal bests during my non-Pilates activities. I can't say enough good things about my experience w/PH.

Parenthood is hard some days. Some days the promise of an hour to yourself for a little deep breathing and pushing your body, can be just the thing you need. To put that smile back on and restart. Give yourself a few times a week with amazing instructors and a wonderful community of people helping to keep you motivated. The best part about Pilates Heartcore is that people of all fitness levels and body types come together to encourage each other and find a few minutes of sanity in this busy world. Try the free intro class for yourself, to see just how comfortable you will feel trying something new.

I love, love, love Heartcore! Katie and the crew do a great job keeping it fun while kicking your butt. Just commit to 2-3 times a week and you will be amazed at the physical and mental changes you experience. There’s many times I’ve had to drag myself to class - but I’ve never been mad about going after class is over. It’s an instant mood booster, plus class size is small so the instructor can actually focus on each student. Katie is also very particular about who she lets teach at her studio so you can always count on an instructor that is knowledgeable and observant of your body and your needs.
Do yourself the biggest favor ever and sign up NOW!! ☺️

I started going here about a year and a half ago. To be honest I only went because my wife was going and she thought it would be good for my back. Like many men, I thought Pilates was something wealthy women did to pretend they were working out. Wrong! These days I am significantly more flexible and my core is stronger than at any time in my life. I also do intense cardio workouts several times a week, play golf, hike etc., and Pilates has made all of those activities better for me. I recover faster, have greater muscle control and generally feel more physically fit than I have in decades. BTW - I'm 54 years old, have stenosis in my neck, two collapsed discs in my L4-L5 and arthritis in my left knee...so there really is no excuse to not give it a try. Katie, Emily, Kaleen and Heather are true pros who genuinely care about the health and well being of all their students. I highly recommend you try them out.

Katie and her team at Heartcore are amazing. Everyone is down to earth, welcoming, and so, so encouraging. Every class I've taken, no matter the instructor, has been just as challenging as it has been enjoyable... in that "hurts so good" way that anyone who has done Pilates knows so well. After almost two months of regular classes I can see the difference in not only the way my jeans fit, but my entire posture as well. I am so grateful to this studio and all of it's instructors for helping me fall in love with Pilates.
