I recently had a terrible experience at Pilates Napa Valley during my bachelorette party. The instructor, Nancy, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She began by belittling my girls who were beginners, making condescending remarks such as "that's not your knees okay, these are your knees, and these are your ankles" in the most condescending tone.
Even my experienced friend, who has years of Pilates experience, was treated poorly. Nancy kept going up to her and asking her if she was okay with a look of pity on her face, my girl was literally like "yeah I'm just breathing?" It's like she really wanted to make it seem like we were holding back the entire class.
The most shocking moment came when Nancy publicly accused one of my girls of not paying for the class, which was completely false. This was incredibly embarrassing and unprofessional. Nancy's attitude throughout the class was condescending and judgmental. She seemed to resent us for not being regular members.
At one point she said, "yeah my daughter-in-law said she wanted to do a Pilates class for her bachelorette and I was like ahhhh" as my girls and I are just like chilling doing the exercises with the rest of the class? I was like?? Ahh?? Is this experience that terrible for you?
While this experience didn't taint my perspective on Pilates, I fear it will for my girls who had never tried it before. I'm blessed to have been a regular at my local studio for over six years, so I know that not all Pilates studios are like this. However, this negative experience could potentially deter my girls from trying Pilates again, which is a shame.
Nancy made several more unnecessary and rude comments throughout the class, including something super insensitive and ignorant that was said to my maid of honor who is expecting, but ultimately all you need to know is to never go to this studio. I always take Pilates classes at random studios all across the US while traveling, and this experience has been BY FAR the worst. I gave it 1 star because you canβt do less than that, but if I could give it negative stars I would.

Love love love coming to reform Pilates. Nancy and Heidi are sooo knowledgeable. Super helpful and sweet too. They really care about your wellbeing, posture and make sure you are doing it correctly. Iβve had two injuries. One was a shoulder injury (8 yr ago) and the last one core and back (herniated disk and post partum), both times Nancy has helped me get better, have more strength and feel more comfortable and confident on my day to day activities. If you are looking to get back into workouts or posture or strength this is the place to be. Aka my happy place!

I love this place! The instructors are the absolute BEST. They are so knowledgeable and they keep the workouts interesting and challenging. I've seen great results in my appearance and strength. The equipment is good quality and the space is inviting and spotless. Parking is also super easy! A true 10 out of 10 locally owned business!

This is a beautiful studio. The equipment is top notch. The instructors I've worked with are also top notch. Grace and Nancy both are highly skilled instructors, fun and knowledgeable about performing the exercises safely. I have had several back injuries and felt confident the entire session that I was in good hands. I'm hooked!

Just love Pilates Napa Valley! I try to go there three times a week. I am in my seventies and it helps me stay flexible. The instructors understand my limitations and modify the exercise for success. Plus it is just so much fun! To help with the breathing there is a lot of laughter! Just a wonderful group of people.

PNV is the BEST Pilates. I've been practicing pilates for five years, traveling for work all the time. I've done Pilates in at least 8 studios over those years and not one comes close to Pilates Napa Valley. Pilates requires precise movements to hit the target of the move, and Heidi and Nancy are focused on each individual in class, guiding us to precision. They will challenge you, they will change your body and your mindset. This is a can-do studio where everyone succeeds. Best part? They are so darn fun!

Well, I never thought I'd be one of those "go to Pilates class twice a week" kind of people (whatever that means), but I'm hooked. I've been going to this studio for about a year. About 9 months ago I started coming here twice a week.
I've never had the exact same workout repeated. The instructors are always mixing up moves and using different equipment (tower, chair, reformer+ accessories), so you never get bored. There are a lot of different teachers, so there is bound to be one that fits your personality/style.
My favorite is Heidi. She is always upbeat and pushes me to challenge myself in a very nonthreatening and gentle way. (Like the move is just something fun you are going to try as opposed to a boot camp drill Sargent style.) She gives great cues/instruction and is good about correcting posture and giving individual attention even in a full class. I love how positive she is, encouraging us by saying things like "Doesn't that feel good?" or "Doesn't that make you feel strong?" as opposed to playing off people's body image insecurities (as in "this will help get rid of that unsightly..."). She just doesn't go there.
There are a lot of different class times to choose from, which is nice, and you can register for classes using an app for your phone, so it is super convenient.
Oh, I should mention that they also have a nice little selection of workout clothes for sale there. Dang it, Heidi has really good taste too and is always ordering new things. Sometimes it is hard not to shop on your way to or from class.
I started Pilates to help strengthen and improve my body's alignment in order to work through some chronic stuff. This is the best my body has felt in my entire life. I do other workouts/exercise besides Pilates, but Pilates has played a key part in muscle building, improved flexibility, better posture, and most importantly (for me) a significant decline in chronic discomfort from decades of bad posture.

Studio C has the best cardio in town. D'Nyse's Piloxing class is always a challenge, but never intimidating. There is no shame in being a beginner at NV Pilates. They offer a variety of classes to keep things interesting--PiYo, Cize, Barre. The prices are reasonable, the instructors are knowledgeable and nice, and the work-out clothes they have for sale are unique and well-made--what more could you ask for?
