Robert is an excellent Pilates trainer who is creative in his work, always thinking up new exercises so I never feel the boredom of routines getting old. He provides a wonderful balance of support, pushing to progress, always in a safe way. He thoroughly knows anatomy, explaining what muscle groups each exercise is developing. He’s reliable, flexible and personable.

I've been practicing Pilates for 35 years...and Robert is the very best instructor I've ever met. He is the gold standard for what a Pilates instructor should be. Lovely personality, always on time and most importantly his knowledge of anatomy is amazing! Not only does he have a college degree in it, but in addition to his knowledge and experience (over 30 years teaching Pilates!) he is constantly creating new excercises so not only are his sessions never the same--never boring nor repetitive--but he customizes movements according to your needs and any injuries or disabilities. AND, as a breast cancer surviver who suffers from lymphedema he has created exercises that have profoundly. improved my condition. And he keeps his rates reasonable so one can make a long-term commitment to practice with him on a regular basis.

I worked with my previous pilates instructor for 8 months and I became stronger. However, within two weeks of working with Robert, I could see muscle definition. I had the opportunity to have a pilates session with Robert while visiting LA from NYC. I was impressed!! His methodology and approach is amazing while his energy is so motivating! Robert Hanson is truly the very best instructor in Pilates, with him it is the fastest results I have ever had in my life and I am in my 60's. I am so excited seeing my body's shape, it's turning back the years which makes me me feel younger. Big win win in every area of my life!. As a Pilates novice, Robert has patiently and attentively taught me the basics, while adjusting the workout to meet my needs and really push me. Workouts are intense, interesting, and pass quickly. Robert is very professional, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I am sore in places I didn't even know I had muscles (and Robert can probably name them). Highly recommend!

Robert has totally helped my body transform! I absolutely love working with him! I signed up for 10 more privates, and look forward to every session with him! He is very attentive to your needs, and is considerate of any injuries you may have. He is very creative on the different machines, and each session is different than the previous. The minute I met Robert, I felt an immediate connection. He has a wonderful easy way about him, yet he is very professional.
He is ABSOLUTELY the best Pilates Instructor I've ever had. He KNOWS the physiology of the body and worked with my minor injuries with consideration. My body AND my mind felt better, stronger, and happier than it had in quite awhile!

Robert knows pilates. He knows the body. He knows the muscles of the body. He knows a variety of workouts. He's worldly and has trained in so many different world environments that he knows how to train each and every one of us. He watches over you and doesn't flirt or talk or pay attention to someone else.
He loves this and his passion and energy carries on to you to do your best work, even if that is one or 20 reps, it doesn't matter.
No day is the same and if you want to spend the fastest 50 minutes of your life, please book a session with Robert.
He's punctual, communicative, professional, calm, confident, and credible.

Don't let the kind eyes and friendly smile fool ya. You will be getting your butt kicked - in the best possible way.
But you'll be having so much fun you won't realize just HOW hard you're working out - until the next day. And as you grimace and reach for your phone to text Robert "Why must you hurt me like this?" you'll look in the mirror and see how good your tush looks in those jeans, and go, "Oh. Yep. That's why."
I really can't recommend Robert enough. I've already seen changes in posture and core after only 3 sessions.

After my first session, I knew I'd be seeing Robert at least 10 more times. The first workout went a bit over an hour and I could se the results that day and later the next. He looked at my posture and body and knew exactly what to work on. It's been 5 sessions so far and my body is completely different. He really knows what he's doing and he really exercises the right parts of my body. I will be training with Robert for a long time.

Robert offers several types of workout styles but all end up being effective. I've tried strength training, yoga, and pilates with him and all have left me sore the next day (the good kind.) He knows how to work around your problem areas and how to target the muscles that need to be strengthened. He also had me do specific exercises at home to correct my posture & back problems. He's incredibly personable and has a wealth of knowledge. He makes workouts an enjoyable experience & stays with you the entire time to help & correct your movements. You won't find him yelling at you from across the gym while texting like the typical trainer. Well worth the investment & it shows.

I’m getting old…LOL! I’m turning 50 this year — lifting weights and high impact cardio do a number on my joints these days. After sharing sentiments like this with a friend, he suggested I try pilates with his instructor, Robert Hanson. I had taken an intro class at the gym once before and remember thinking how surprisingly difficult it was to coordinate movement combined with body position, breathing, etc. Now, working one-on-one with Robert, I’m remarkably impressed with how thorough of a workout I get and with how patient and knowledgeable Robert has been as I begin to ‘master’ pilates…ha! I’ve worked out with Robert about 10 times, so far, in the studio on La Cienega and I’m going to try and in-home session (yes, Robert is mobile!)…although, I think I’ll probably end up preferring to work out at his studio, from a mental standpoint. Anyway, Robert’s great — highly recommended!!

Love working out with Robert. He adjusts each workout to the body and the range of his clients. The best part is that you see immediate results. I love working out at the studio but also love the fact that he is mobile, so sometimes we work out in my backyard. Hands down, best Pilates experiences I've had so far!

I love my Pilates training with Robert. He is incredibly knowledgeable about every part of the body we are working and why. I didn't want to be a stooped over old person like you see walking down the street and Pilates with Robert is my line of first defense! I have become stronger, straighter, and more aware of my body as a result of working with him. We don't lollygag around but go straight to work as I see other trainers who barely put in an effort with their clients. I work hard for the hour - worth every dime. Run, walk or UBER to train with him!!!

Robert Hansen has a technical background in body mechanics that helped me get back into shape despite my low back pain issues. He had his work cut out for him with me as I've been very athletic my whole life and his methods in Pilates got my core solid so that our sessions moved from restorative to muscle building. I called it "Guy Pilates," as most people think Pilates is 'for girls.' His methods were challenging and without pain. He constantly had new challenges for me and worked with me until I mastered them all. He's not only nice, but tough when I needed it. Thank You Robert!
