Keni is an amazingly knowledgeable, warm, and experienced Pilates teacher. I started working with Keni almost five years ago following the birth of my first child, and she was so impactful in helping me recover my strength postpartum that I have stuck with her ever since! I worked with her during two more pregnancies and have always been impressed by her ability to adapt our session to whatever I need. I also love her welcoming and inclusive spirit — the vibe she creates in her studio makes it clear that all bodies can find strength through Pilates.

I've enjoyed working on the reformer for over 10 yrs and when my original pilates instructor moved out of the country many years ago, I had been in search of a pilates instructor familiar w/the machines. I find using the reformer, cadillac table, barrel, etc more interesting than just mat pilates as they require more skill and practice. I found the expertise in Keni and it helps that our rapport is very easy going and sociable. But Keni's background in kinesiology & gymnastics, is very helpful when she connects the pilates movements to the particular part of the body we're working. I love that information so I have a better and deeper understanding of the body and what we're trying to accomplish. I met Keni at the JCC in Los Gatos and followed her to her own studio. I prefer a 1:1 training than a group session that I find may not be of benefit to people new to pilates unless one is pretty advanced. There's much more benefit in 1:1 because the session is flexible based on your needs that day such as an injury or you woke up on the wrong side of the bed! Keni will make the appropriate adjustments or determine a movement that would be helpful for the injury or situation. Working w/Keni is worth it if one is looking to try pilates and/or need the expertise to improve your own goals.

Keni Colgan has a broad knowledge of exercise physiology beyond Pilates which enhances her private Pilates sessions. She is always prepared with an outline for my workout, yet she is also flexible when something isn't working and suggests other options to get the same results. Her encouraging manner makes me work hard to push myself and she is very thorough in explaining and demonstrating what I am asked to do, kindly correcting me to prevent injuries. She also balances strength with flexibility, making sure that we stretch before our session is over. Her studio is inviting, clean, comfortable and she follows COVID protocol so you feel safe while getting a good workout. Finally, she encourages her clients to continue their workouts between sessions by suggesting exercises/stretches to do at home. I always look forward to our weekly workouts!

Keni Colgan provides very personalized, in-depth Pilates for her clients. Workouts are geared towards ability level and needs. Keni's experience with exercise physiology/kinesiology works to the client's advantage as she uses her knowledge to craft Pilates exercises that will strengthen and increase flexibility while challenging your abilities. She has the full gamut of Pilates equipment, and you will use it as part of your session, depending on what she has planned for you. I had my first interaction with Keni several years ago when she subbed for my regular Pilates instructor. I was impressed then, as I am now, with her calm and supportive demeanor. Now that I am a regular in her studio, I find her to be well prepared for each session. It has been a delight to work with her on a regular basis since April 2021. It seems that she helps aging feel more graceful and strong!

Highly recommend. When I started, I was so tight and stiff, that caused total inflexibility. Now after 4 months, my core has strengthened and my flexibility improved. What I like about her is that she explains what she is focusing on before each part of the pilates.
On a separate note, she is extremely pleasant to work with..very sweet, patient and friendly.
