Absolutely love this studio and practicing here. Great instructors, community, and tranquil environment. Honestly can’t find a studio like this. However, the prices have gone up dramatically the last 1-2 years. I had a membership of 89 dollars a month, which is steep but justifiable for what you get. I went on deployment, came back and saw that it went up to 99 dollars in just a year. The class drop in price used to be 20 bucks and was raised to 30, literally a 50% increase. I understand the rising cost of rent and paying instructors, but raising prices dramatically in a short period of time is disappointing. I live just a few minutes walk from here, and it’s sad to get priced out of such a great neighborhood studio.

I've been practicing yoga for 13 years and before joining Pilgrimage, I had never found a studio that quite felt in line with what I was looking for. The beauty of this studio is that it's apparent all of the teachers are true students of yoga and all that it encompasses - not just the physical. I've found so much solace and peace at this studio and will be forever grateful to have joined :)
As a side note - I love that all of their meditation classes are completely free to everyone.

Been coming here almost a year now and still so grateful this place exists. Been a part of many studios in my life and this is my favorite. Just look at the schedule and you’ll see how much Pilgrimage offers. All the teachers are great with their own personal styles. And on top of various yoga classes, they also offer meditation and philosophy classes and weekly sound baths. Amazing community here in Normal Heights 🥰

I became a member of this studio after coming in for a few weeks of free meditation with the founder. I found that everyone I encountered, from staff to members, were warm and inviting. I felt at home very quickly and decided to become a member, from my very first class I knew I made the right decision. In the following weeks, I’ve taken various classes, workshops, and experiences— like a women’s song circle! I even found my therapist on the community board. It’s a great space with strong community roots and values. The teachers are mindful, inviting, educated, and intentional. They also have a great retail space if you’re interested in supporting local business as well as big wellness brands. If you’re thinking about it, come try it out. You won’t regret it! (:

I would like to preface this review by saying that I had never been to a yoga studio or practiced yoga prior to coming to PILGRIMAGE OF THE HEART! I started with gentle yoga taking a few classes a week and have progressed to doing all levels ( I still do gentle yoga because I feel so good after) The community I have come to love and appreciate in this space is truly inspiring. The instructors are so supportive and truly amazing people! I am leaving this city and will continue with POTH on live stream because I’m not sure of finding another studio that is so inclusive and supportive !Thank you all so much

I have a deep love for Pilgrimage of the Heart. A couple of years ago, I moved here from New York, and a friend introduced me to this incredible place for workshops. I've participated in several over the years, and they truly bring me joy. Recently, I've started attending their free meditation classes, which have made a significant impact on my life. The owner generously offers many of these sessions to the community at no charge, and I genuinely appreciate that. It's a rare gift to find a meditation class for free, especially one that also provides a meditation course to deepen your practice at no cost. I've introduced several friends to the studio, and they also find immense value in what is offered. Thank you for all that you do for our community, helping us to continue our inward journey and providing a wide array of spiritual workshops that nourish our souls.

I absolutely love this yoga studio! The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to unwind and focus. The instructors are knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely care about each student’s progress. They offer a wide variety of classes, from yoga to meditation, Reiki, and sound healing, so there’s something for everyone. Each class is well-structured, providing a great mix of techniques for all levels. The studio is always clean, and the class sizes are just right, ensuring personal attention without feeling crowded. I’ve noticed a big improvement in my flexibility, strength, and peace of mind since joining. Highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to deepen their practice or find a peaceful retreat in their day!

Pilgrimage is amazing! I found their free mantra meditation class on my second day in San Diego, and they instantly became my home away from home and my community during the month I spent in the city. The owner has a great calming presence to him, and everything is run with so much heart and generosity. I also took the free Tuesday night meditation classes, and some yoga and sound bath classes too. Everyone who works there is lovely, warm and highly skilled. If there's one thing I'm gonna miss from San Diego, it's hands down Pilgrimage.

Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga is a beautiful space, one that has profoundly shaped my journey as both a yoga student and teacher. It's where I chose to complete my YTT-200. All the teachers at Pilgrimage of the Heart are extremely knowledgeable and intentional in how they design their classes. The studio offers a variety of different styles of yoga classes including hot yoga, flow, gentle, and restorative. It's a space where everyone feels welcomed, no matter where they are on their path. Pilgrimage also offers wonderful free meditation sessions that really allow you to explore different types of meditation. In a world that is always moving, finding stillness has become an invaluable resource. Pilgrimage of the Heart is more than just a yoga studio to me, it's a community of kindred spirits where you can always find nourishment for the soul and body.

Joined in 2011. Been coming and going since then. I always return to pilgrimage, it’s locally owned not a huge corporation. The owner and all the instructors are amazing. There is a sense of community here. It’s just lovely place to practice yoga. An assortment of classes. Whatever you are feeling. Also want to mention the meditation classes and the best sound healing classes included in your membership. The sound healing class on Saturday is my favorite it’s like a shamanistic experience. It’s divine and so relaxing ..some even fall asleep to the beautiful creation of sound that Oak is playing. Great studio ,it’s a family and you feel the love and peace here.

I have been practicing at Pilgrimage since October 2023. My favorite class is Sarurday evening Savasana, a wonderful way to end the day. I was having lower back and hip issues and really needed to get moving in a way that didn't intimidate me, I found it. I am comfortable and really look forward to my classes!

I have joined Pilgramage of the Heart Yoga studio in Normal Hights, San Diego, CA ~ 5 years ago and I have been “ intravenously” hooked to their program/ classes ever since.
WHY⁉️...
....Because they offer everything you need to strengthen or improve your relationships with: your BODY ( physical body), PEOPLE , and the highest level of SELF ( consciousness).
Whatever your body or mind need, you will find there.
They offer variety of different classes in the beautiful 2 studios, every day of the weak from morning to evening.
Their numerous instructors bring different styles of teaching , by helping students learn how to act differently, in order to achieve their individual goals in the process of “activating” both- body and the mind.
Their numerous classes, and workshops in addition , offer not just the experience of different body exercises, but advice on healthy lifestyle, diet included, sound healing and relaxation, meditation, importance and practice of stillness, even yoga therapy - for the most common body aches and pains due to mild muscle pain and tenderness, decreased range of motions , or stiffness that can worsen with age...etc...etc...
Instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly; they treat every student as a family member, and always find time to talk with you after class and help at different levels in your individual needs...
The studio itself is spacious, beautiful, perfectly maintained , very pleasant.
What do you need more⁉️ I personally don’t 😊

No matter your skill level or flexibility, there is honestly no better place to practice. I have been going here for 10 years and I cannot begin to describe the positive effects it has had on my health and well being. Both physically and emotionally. All humans are welcomed and celebrated at the door and throughout every class. The teachers are fantastic!! I wish I could give it 10 stars.

Im a beginner to yoga. So I came in very anxious and very curious. To say this place is extremely unique is a understatement. Some things are hard to put into words. Sujantra the owner of the studio has an extremely warm and compassionate spirit. He has really made me feel comfortable when I came in with a lot of uncertainty. I found peace of mind, grounding, calmness, and overall well being and healing in my first 10 days here.
The staff from front desk to yoga instructors also embody the same qualities of a compassionate and caring teacher you would naturally hope for at a yoga studio. But let me emphasize. This isn’t just a yoga studio. In my opinion it’s a center for healing, grounding and meditation through yoga.
Thank you for accepting me for who I am and introducing me to the beautiful concept to let go of things that no longer serve me.
As a result I built up the courage to take the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca and Madina which I leave for in 2 days. Totally unplanned before walking into this center.

It has a peaceful, quiet atmosphere, and the people are friendly. The place is kept clean, and it is air conditioned. The instructors are all very skilled and knowledgable. There is a lot of diversity - there are people of all ages and fitness levels, and there is a decent proportion of men. If you take a class more than 4-5 times per month, then look into their monthly membership options, it will save you money. It is unlimited, and they encourage you to attend as much as you want. They have Hot Yoga, which I haven't tried personally. They also have meditation classes and sound healing. You can get 2 weeks of unlimited classes for $25 just to try it out, no strings attached. They also give you a coupon for the vegetarian restaurant across the street.

Down-to-earth community. Top-notch teachers.
I’ve been coming to the Pilgrimage of the Heart studio for only three months, and joined as a member after my two-week trial membership ran out. And I’m so glad I did!
The community of teachers at this studio are so knowledgeable and welcoming! They have strengthened my body and calmed my mind by leading their unique wonderful classes. Deep gratitude to the following teachers: Kaitlyn, Madison, Lauren, Kelly, Nam, Sydney, and Madison, Heather and Kara.
Here you will find a class that suits you and your skill level, from gentle yoga, yoga for all levels, yin/restorative yoga and flow. They also have recently started hot yoga, and offer free meditation classes to members on Tuesdays, and on Thursdays, a sound healing and meditation class.
Whether you are a beginner like me, or a seasoned yogi, I suggest trying this studio out. You will walk into a community of caring teachers and authentic yoga classes. You’ll walk out feeling energized, relaxed, and ready to tackle whatever comes your way. Practicing yoga here has been transformative. I think more clearly, sleep more soundly and overall, walk more briskly. It has been an amazing journey.

Have been going to Pilgrimage for about 7 years off and on, and since retirement last year and then the pandemic, i have utilized their services more and more. They’ve been flexible and resilient in the way they run their business, and their ability to work to accommodate the public during a pandemic has been thoughtful and really outstanding. As for Nicole, Marie, and Lauren, my regular go to instructors, they have single handedly offered the gift of yoga in a way that not only eases my body’s aches and pains, but also causes me to bring my peaceful time on the mat to the outside world. Each of them are worth their weight in solid gold. As long as they’re here, i’m not going anywhere❤️

I've enjoyed coming to Pilgrimage Yoga for about a month or so now. I was seeking a yoga studio which was centered around spirituality and tuning in rather than yoga being used as an exercise, and I am happy that I found this studio.
My partner, Max, has joined me as well, which is the first time in his life that he has done yoga. It took 7 years to convince him yoga would be good for him and now for his recovering knee injury, and now he loves it.
This studio makes us both feel like it's an intimate setting and we can both let go and enjoy the practice even without being perfect or advanced.
We will continue to include these classes into our weekly wellbeing routine and are both very excited about landing here!

This studio is fantastic. Yoga is a practice that changes daily depending on how your body is feeling. The teachers help cater each class to you, ensure you're practicing safely and correctly. If you're looking for a well-rounded yoga studio that offers a diversity of classes *and* has a solid community, Pilgrimage of the Heart is it! Their schedule has an abundance of time options and includes several class styles, so you are sure to find your fit and what type of yoga class resonates with you, be it active, gentle, or more meditative. Additionally, Pilgrimage has truly varying levels of classes- not designating classes as "all-levels"- so you are able to find a level that works for you, whether you are beginner, intermediate, or advanced. This studio regularly holds different kinds of workshops and trainings that are interesting and fun, as well as music (kirtan, crystal singing bowls, etc.) and meditation events. This emphasis on the other aspects of yoga (meditation, pranayama, etc.) in addition to the physical is one of the things that sets Pilgrimage apart from other studios and makes it special. This is a safe space and community of welcoming and caring individuals.
The Normal Heights studio is in the heart of the Normal Heights neighborhood and has a cozy feeling. The main studio room has plenty of space and beautiful bamboo flooring. There is a homey waiting room where you can relax if you arrive early, and the shop section has so many different, lovely items! Parking is street-parking only, which usually isn't an obstacle- just be sure to give yourself enough time to drive there and park without putting yourself in a rush.
Price-wise, you cannot beat this studio's value! Not only have they made yoga affordable, whether you try the 2-week unlimited special for $25 or have the monthly membership that's just $79/month, but there are also all sorts of perks and discounts that come along with what you've signed up for. Pilgrimage of the Heart is an established studio that has genuinely invested in its community, students, teachers, and all-around quality of its offerings. The attention to detail and effort to make this a welcoming and safe place shows. Give it a chance... it just may become your second home :)

When I first moved here I was looking for the best possible yoga studio in San Diego and found pilgrimage of the heart yoga (with two locations). I tried a handful of studios and pilgrimage by far is my favorite studio in San Diego. I value it so highly for many reasons. It has many teachers with great skill set. Pilgrimage upholds integrity and respect to yoga as an ancient and beautiful tradition. Class packages are honest and affordable in pricing. There is a wide variety of class times, types and levels of difficulty. I am grateful there is a studio like pilgrimage in San Diego :)
They have a great intro package too if you need some more insight into what the studio is like.

POTH has been my home studio for approximately three years. Outside of work, it is the place where i spend the most time and one of the greatest joys of my san diego life. Over the years despite my desperate shyness and antisocialness, this studio has become a family to me.
Teachers like Jamie and Sara and Sydney and Nam truly brought me out of my shell, made me feel comfortable, and radically improved my practice (other teachers are fantastic, just wanted to name drop those ive spent the most time with).
I am moving and have to end my membership. Leaving my job, my apartment—much easier than losing POTH as my home studio. I have tears in my eyes as i type this.
POTH is handsdown the best studio in SD. Two locations with two studios per means a diversity of offerings and times. Expert, caring, and loving teachers and staff welcome you at both locations. At $80 for unlimited membership it is BY FAR the BEST VALUE. Besides being a fantastic value, POTH truly goes above and beyond.
I am an expert level practitioner with 5 years under my belt. POTH has deepened my practice and been a source of emotional and psychological support and peace. I cannot recommend higher or more sincerely.

I absolutely love this yoga studio! Im the type of yogi who loves meditation and working on my inner self and Pilgrimage truly caters to this. They offer a variety of gentle/restorative/yin classes and this is what sold me to purchase a membership. Yoga studios typically do not offer these classes and if they do they are typically once a week, and offered midday.
I always visit their gentle practices in the evenings, it allows me to unwind from a crazy day at work and let’s me sleep like a baby! Pilgrimage also offers harder/hot practices such as Yoga ll and Power Yoga and these classes are also great!
I honestly love their versatility and wide array of classes. If you want to try a genuine yoga studio that isn’t corporate oriented, I would definitely recommend this studio!

I LOVE this studio. I was introduced to Pilgrimage by an acquaintance seven years ago and shortly after became a member.
The studio is clean, well-maintained and air conditioned (or heated for the hot classes). The props are also clean and well-maintained. The classes are varied, numerous and traditional (well there is rope wall and yoga dance). Classes are offered from early morning to mid-evening, every day; with workshops once or twice a month. The class schedule is posted online with real time updates.
The people are wonderful. The owner, instructors and other staff members are all friendly and knowledgeable. Always willing to answer a question or concern or just chat for a minute or two. Each instructor brings their own style to their class, so even the same level of class is unique.
There is a bus stop and bike rack just outside. If you drive be aware of Normal Heights parking, so “fun” on evenings and weekends or street sweeping day. So if you decide to drop in and give Pilgrimage a try, just give yourself time to park.

Down to earth, friendly, personable, and passionate instructors who know their craft. I feel lucky and grateful I found this hidden gem in San Diego, but don't take my word for it. Lot's of "yoga" studios out thier, but there is only one pilgrimage of the heart. (Actually they have two studios ;)..)

Although they have a wonderful organization behind the various businesses units (restaurant, yoga, meditation), their yoga classes have unfortunately become a victim of their own success. Classes earlier this year were so crowded I could hardly find a place to put my mat during the early evening hour classes when everyone goes (at the Adams Ave location).

Absolutely love this studio! The unlimited class deal is super affordable and there are always plenty of classes to choose from that work well with a regular 9-5er. I like the large space as well as the instructors. Not to mention walking distance!

Clean studio really well run. I have been practicing yoga on and off for 33 years and this is the best studio on all levels. The instructors really know their craft and yet they want to know you and help you adapt your practice to your own body and needs, these people really care.
Yes some classes are crowded, but there are so many classes offered and plenty of them are not crowded. Also, the many different instructors allow you to choose different teaching styles.
I take 6 classes per week, at $75 per month that comes out to about $3 per class with top level instructors.

Pilgrimage is a great yoga studio in San Diego because they make yoga accessible to so many people! Their rates are very reasonable which goes along with the mindset of making yoga possible to everyone. I appreciate the wide variety of classes they offer and I also like that they have classes all day long. It's great for someone like me with a busy schedule. I can just drop in for a class when I have time. My main recommendation is that they add more Level 3 classes. They only offer one true Level 3 class on Sunday night. This location in particular has a very spacious room to practice in. Make sure you arrive early though, parking can be tricky. You have to drive around the neighborhood to find a spot and sometimes they aren't easy to come by.

Good instructors. I like the atmosphere too, it is a little bit bigger as far as class sizes go but it is worth it I have been going here for 6 months and love it.

Super crowded, very little adjustments by instructors. It's difficult to focus and follow since there are tons of people in the class--at least 30 others or more. You can't see a thing if you're not in the first two rows. Do not recommend.
