I’ve been coming to this gym recently because it’s usually not crowded, but the cleanliness has been a consistent issue. The facility is often dirty, and staff members are rude and dismissive. My sister also developed ringworm, and after checking the reviews we noticed several other customers reporting the same issue, which is very concerning.

This morning (11/20/25), I was told at check-in that I supposedly owed over $200, and the staff refused to let me work out. I called another location and they confirmed the actual balance was only $68. The attitude I received at the front desk was unprofessional and embarrassing, especially since I’ve been paying my membership and never received any email, notice, or app notification about any past due amount. They even charged my monthly fee two days ago, but still refused me access.

This experience was uncalled for, and I will be paying the balance at the other location instead. I won’t be returning to this gym or recommending it to anyone. The lack of cleanliness, misinformation, and rude customer service are unacceptable

Three people I personally know have contracted ringworm from this gym and when it was reported to them, they acted like it wasn't a big deal and shrugged it off. The staff needs to be on the patrons about sanitizing all of the equipment that comes in contact with body parts before and after use. I think that people should be required to wear athletic pants and longsleeves as a further precaution to prevent spreading this fungus. I'm reporting this to the Public Health Department.

I’m a truck driver so parking is the first concern and this location isn’t too uptight. Had to do a 34 in the area and parking during the day isn’t an issue but security will kick you out at night even though the signs say you’re good if you’re there to use the shopping center, street parking all over the place so it wasn’t an issue. Hot shower, cold water fountain, equipment was good but quite a few broken pieces which was abnormal. I’ll be back if I’m in the area, thanks a lot

Been getting into fitness more, so me and the wife decided to get a membership, the gym is decent as far as gyms go, a variety of equipment, some specialty areas and they have a massage area for after workouts. I definitely enjoy going here, my only issue is they take a while to fix machines when they go down, there's ab machine I really liked and it went down a few days after I started and they haven't fixed it yet. Other than that pretty happy with the overall experience and atmosphere.

This gym has gone down hill from when I first started. So many people just want to do the bare minimum workout then video themselves, check themselves out in the mirror like that 1 set made a difference, and play games to where the real people that wanna workout now have to wait for them to be done playing on the machines. People are very inconsiderate of the machines will take up 2 machines at a time while the workers do nothing but play around, lay on the massage beds, flirt with the members and smoke weed outside the door. Come on your at work have some self respect and whoever the owners are just let it go been coming here for 2 years now and has just gotten worse guess inshape here i come

Employees are seem to want to hide out in Massage room using the message beds instead of fill up the papers towels machine when they r empty and it's a Lil unprofessional for the Employees to be using the message room on company time when the gym members pay to use but can't because there in use by some of Employees. Not a very good way to conduct bissness in my opinion. I would giving no stars but not an option to select. And they should have a fair usage system where they have a clip bord at each machine if machine is in use then u right ur name in next available line then go in order by each person on the list that way people aren't taking up one machine all day ruining work outs Regiment of other members that way the Employees would have more to do by check the fair usage of the equipment. Over all wouldn't recommend this location to go to gym. Joining a gym, cleanliness is of the utmost importance, as well as the condition of the equipment. Since joining Planet Fitness, I must say I definitely had concerns about the location, but I definitely don’t have any regrets now. This place is incredibly clean and well-maintained.

The gentleman in this picture is always on top of maintaining the equipment and the facility. Although I have never met him, it always catches my eye how hardworking he is every single time I work out at the Planet Fitness in Oildale. This attention to cleanliness and care makes me a happy member and customer, knowing that I am going to a gym that is clean and well-maintained.

He clearly loves his job and takes it very seriously, which is an A+ in my opinion. He’s definitely being noticed, not only by me but by many others, I’m sure. Keep up the good work!

So I recently gave a review of 3 stars with the only problem with the gym being lack of rule enforcement..namely, the 30 circuit work out section. I followed the advice of whoever replies to these reviews and "spoke to the friendly staff about this issue." The result was as follows:
The staff was very friendly and polite as he explained that they were very aware that the 30 minute circuit area was being used by people who just sit on their phones and are otherwise not doing the circuit, but they also have no intention of putting a stop to it. He acknowledged that their were signs posted and even that the area IS in fact supposed to be used only for a 30 minute curcuit, but, they would not be enforcing the rules. So, sad to say, I stepped back and thought about it for a few minutes, after which, I canceled my membership. I'll go elsewhere. Yes it's more expensive, but it'll be worth it to get a workout where I can keep my heart rate up without having to wait for someone who isn't even using the machine to get up and leave. I'd like to give 0 stars but google wouldn't allow it.

I gave the 4 stars for Mariah and the staff were very polite and helpful in helping with a negative situation I have been dealing with Alaya, Panama/Ashe, and the California club I believe Gavin or Favjn was the assistant manager. Erin Regional manager is never available and the clubs will not give out any contact info to get the situation resolved. Never had an issue with PL until I moved back to Bakersfield. But I see why when I look at who owns and runs them

Not enough stretching equipment you have multiple of everything else but only 1 each of the stretching and then you have ignorant people who just wanna sit on the equipment to where I waited 30 mins for dude to get off phone and get up and nothing got frustrated and left. I come here specially to stretch my back do to having a bad back and to not have the equipment I need is frustrating please fix this or put a 15 min time limit on equipment

At first I was all for this gym as I’m loyal to planet fitness. Well, here’s my story. I decided to try a new location and read great reviews, unfortunately I did notice TONS of homeless people around this location but of course I decided to stay anyways. I had a great workout for about an hour and a half until I came outside and realized someone tried to break into my car but was unsuccessful which caused a lot of damage, then proceeded to go inside and talk to the employee, and all he can say is they can’t do anything about it and have no cameras, but I can try to see if Popeyes caught it. So with that being said, if I could give this place 0 stars I would. This happened around 7PM which is kind of scary knowing the there’s no type of security or even cameras on the side for members safety.

I have been coming to planet fitness about 2 years now and I love it. I go in the afternoon and the afternoon staff Angel, Mario, Jesus and the Shift lead that needs to be supervisor Anthony are always smiling and greet everyone with a cheerful demeanor. (Like they are actually happy to see you there) The gym is always clean and Jesus the trainer is amazing. he builds awesome routines that help you get to your goal.(He definitely deserves a raise!) He is very knowledgeable and will help anyone and everyone that asks for it! However I wish there was a time limit for the Smith machine. it is the most used piece of equipment and some people will be on it for HOURS making it very difficult for other people to try and get on it. Other than that PF rocks. Thank you for truly making a judgment free zone!

Worst planet fitness I have ever been to, which says a lot considering the one in my original city is in Flint. Elyssa, from the bat was INSANELY rude, uncaring, and the entire time was being unprofessional. From the moment I walked in with my family we simply asked her if it was okay if two of us came in on one membership, she said no. Which we understood due to COVID. As I went to pay and asked her since I would be paying $20 for a day pass, if I was able to use all amenities. She rudely said, “I don’t know ask my manager.” After that moment I just knew I needed to get out of her hair because clearly something was bothering her. After, I saw the $20 fee I simply asked her if she was going to add the water bottle to the fee just to make sure she wouldn’t think I was taking it without paying. As soon as I put my card in, she looks at me without me saying a single word, saying, “ you don’t need to have an attitude or be rude.” I was ASTONISHED, the only words I said to this woman are asking if the money I was paying would give me access to tanning or if she got the water bottle on my bill. I asked her how I was being rude considering from the moment I walked in she was giving my family members and i weird looks for speaking in another language amongst ourselves. For a judgment free zone, the judgement from this employee was outspoken. I understand people having bad days, but the unprofessionalism this young lady had was astonishing. Even the manager was confused hearing his employee speak in this manner to a paying customer. If you come here make sure you go to a different employee because from what I saw everyone else was professional except her.

Spacious and Comfortable.
Adheres to local protocols of no grunts and 🥩 heads where everyone can feel good about themselves and workout and break a sweat without feeling guilty. The water 💦 in the shower 🚿 is actually hot 🔥. It's been a few days and various other locations where cold ❄ showers were the norm. I like this! The staff facilitators are pleasant and oversee the place with due diligence. I've been a black card member for years. I always loved the clean facilities, modern equipment and the special VIP area with massage beds and light therapy. 1 guest is allowed . They won't let me bring my adult daughter in as a guest unless she has photo identification. I explained she has autism and lost everything in an accident. It's very clear shes an adult. The answer was still no. I will cancel my 4 year membership the minute I'm by my home gym.
