I keep a PF membership for work(lots of travel) and have seen a fair amount of locations. This location has decent equipment and space, temp can differ from muggy to chilly, and occasionally late at night the paper towels can be empty.

Biggest issue i have with this location is just a common complaint at most gyms. Peak hours can be rough. Youll need to be comfortable with sharing equipment or being close to somebody else. Not horrible, but some gym goers can be a bit oblivious of their surroundings.

Overall, worth what im paying, and provides the services/equipment youd expect.

Definitely our this gym is more diverse that the other locations it's not crowded, it's mix and there's a great vibe here from the reception as we walk in until we departure 🙂 the atmosphere is awesome 😎 like I mentioned before it is a great environment from those being longer here helping those that are new, the massage, the tanning, the locker's and restrooms are always clean, trash is picked up constantly and the entrance is always being mopped clean 🫧

The Planet Fitness on 4001 California Ave in Bakersfield is outstanding!!!I travel to many Fitness gyms and this gym has everything down to the detail (overhead spa showers, provided free lock& key, soap and shelf in shower- ample different tv shows on ten tvs.) plus all nearest equipment. Fresno gym had same amount of tvs but forced to watch only three (news)stations. Bakersfield gym is one of the best in the nation-what Planet Fitness known for welcomed environment, friendly and knowledgeable staff, etc Jeremy was amazing and set up my AirPods to the treadmill so it was wireless for heart monitor. Thank you again and keep it up!!

Overall, good value and a good, clean gym. The only downside is the Meatheads that can't read signs or follow directions. Signs everywhere about not wearing string tops or having gym bags on the floor, but nobody on staff will enforce anything. People walk into the 30-minute circuit room and use random machines out of order, not following the lighted signs and prompts, jamming things up for everyone.

The worse experience I ever had. They took my money even after I cancelled the membership. When I went to talk to the manager he refused to see me. He told the worker by phone to tell me to leave or he would call the police. At my 55 I have never felt so humiliated in my life. No respect for the elderly.

I have been at this location for over a year...but this afternoon I when for a 30 min work out as I usually do...but was blocked off because they had a class. We'll I do respect the class but is not fair to block access to it since me and my family pays for our monthly membership...the guy the closed this seccion told me to work out somewhere else I said no this is what I have been doing for over a year. He told me that he closed this seccion for an hour. So he is completely braking the rule of 30 minutes work out..everybody else at the counter was unhelpful..that way he was talking seems like he was the owner...I do have many family and friends that go there but after this I'll me sure this place have some cancellations

Jeremy (Manager California) handled a situation that for the most part left me feeling less than human. I have been a member of PF for over 3 years and have lost over 150lbs. Panama lane machines for handicapped have been broken for over a year and I was told they are not under a warranty so likelihood of repair is nonexistant. The main issue was having to use an aluminum chair and a yoga mat to exercise on the equipment, after which when I asked the employee if I could leave the mat at the counter because my back and foot I was hurtine i was told, "That's not in my job description". I guess customer service isnt this employee's
Priority. Furthermore the employee went back to checking his phone after, and I walked away feeling defeated. To think I actually wanted to work for this location because Ayla is a great manager and her staff talk highly about her. I already struggle to get in a work out, stay pain free, and consistent and this employeess judgement left me wanting to cancel my membership. If It was not for Jeremy here at California I would be an inshape member today. He expressed empathy and let me work out on their equipment even though I was not a home member here. Planet fitness needs to maintain its equipment or have someone who's job it is to ensure its not down For months or a (year). We pay monthly im sure the community expects working machines. I look forward to a response to this situation.

Horrible customer service specially with a guy named Mario in the front desk he is so incompetent doesn't know anything. I was trying to cancel my membership from a Planet fitness club in Carson ca. this guy said he couldn't help me that I specifically had to go cancel in person to the very same gym I started my membership at. I called the old gym and someone kindly helped me over the phone and helped me transfer clubs to this one here in Bakersfield on California. Even after I transfer club I still couldn't cancel my membership immediately. Planet fitness sucks so fast to take u as a member but make it difficult to cancel your membership..... I still have to be here back unfortunately to cancel my membership another day... hopefully with another competent well knowledgeable employee.

I went to the planet fitness on California Ave and the rude manager there told me and my guest to “you could leave, the door is there, leave” only because I told him that I got messed up with the names but the old as manger that should retire told us to leave and didn’t even let me speak and explain why I got messed up with the names. A very lovely property. In Princeville, a very desirable location on the island, this Wyndham property has a magnificent view of a golf course and the Blue Pacific Ocean. The amenities are nice including 3 beautiful pools, BBQ facilities throughout the property, excellent clubhouse & many others. For a relaxing stay on the island of Kauai I would recommend highly.

I first want to start out by saying this facility is one of the best Planet Fitness locations I have ever been to. It is clean, I feel comfortable working out in the 30 min work out section and I enjoy the water massage beds. What I greatly disliked was the unprofessionalism of some of the staff. I went to work out with my brother who is 13 years. We followed the standard procedure of providing his birthday and his school ID to verify that it was him. I was told that it was a one and done registration. We returned again, the following week a second time, and the young lady that assisted us told me I had to do the entire process again. I cancelled my membership ASAP. I understand if I had to do it a second time, I would have been ok with it if I was given the correct information initially. What is frustrating is she was not helpful and had poor customer services skills. She was indifferent of the frustration I had. She did not care. I think employees need to keep in mind that customers use the gym to help their mental health, and having to deal with poor staff only adds more stress. I would suggest planet fitness provide training or incentives to assist in helping employees give the best quality customer service. One less black card on my end. I plan to take my business elsewhere. I would encourage the young lady to give just a bit more care and quality for her work, it goes a long way.

Im there Monday thru Friday. There is plenty of equipment and a sort of variety at that. I walk in and walk out with the same confidence as when i arrived. One pet peeve of mine, and this isn't exclusive to Planet Fitness, is people who spend more time on their phones while sitting at a weight machine than they do exercising on it. Even with us standing nearby wanting to use the machine. Do your internet elsewhere, folks. Leave the gym for those of us that actually want to work out and then get on with our day.

Nice staff and so far ok with the training machines are enough. But first i do not like there is always overcrowded on the free weight station. Next was they pick the lock on my locker and stole, Wallet and Car Key , trash my Airtag and throw it in the trash, later stole my Car, Trashed it , broke it so it might will be totaled. Never leave any valuable in the locker or do not use the locker at all. Overall bakersfield is a freaking Crime pool. Do not even stop there for gas and go on to the next City.

Planet fitness management is SO FRUSTRATING. I moved in from out of state, naturally I transferred my home gym. Within 3 months, I moved again TWO hours away, so I tried to transfer my home gym again to one 5mins from my new place. But their policy won't let my account transfer my home gym and NO ONE seems to be able to do anything about it. What is the point of having management who can't do any administrative handling of accounts??? I haven't been able to go to the gym in over a month yet I'm still paying for it!! Even worse, I can't get an upgraded membership unless I go in person??? How ridiculous, that's TWO hours away! I don't have the time or the means. This place advertises 24hrs service, but there's never any management early morning hours (my only free time), it's always only mid-day! Canceling now would make me pay more money than I already have without even a refund. Extremely frustrated with lack of administrative functionality allowed to employees. Let me just say this new teen promo has many members like myself very upset. After this week I am very likely going to cancel my membership and join body xchange just down the street. Sure it costs more but the equipment and amenities are much better, but more importantly kids are not running around tearing the place up.

While it may be too late to keep members like myself, the staff really needs to be on the floor babysitting which is a waist of there time. These kids like to congregate in groups of 4 or more preventing other members who there to actually workout. I actually had one teen flaying around aimlessly almost seriously injure me while working out on the fly weight machine. Have also witness kids twirling around with dumbbells in there hands like they were in romper room. The kid could not only seriously injure himself but others around him. They don’t wipe the equipment after use and just generally lack respect for others or should I say paying members. Don’t get me started on the mens bathroom.

Your own staff recognizes the bad judgement from corporate to impart this terrible decision to isolate paying members, I realize the need to chase the almighty dollar, but I seriously think you need to rethink your target demographic here.
