Recently joined last week. Very reasonable price for a single membersip with the ability to access all locations to include hydromassage, tanning and red light therapy. Great benefits for a low price. Also includes 1 free pass for a guest workout which is fantastic. This location is very clean and tidy. The workout floor is spacious. It has an open concept. It's comfortable and don't feel claustrophobic. Plenty of room and gives me enough privacy because every piece of equipment is spaced far apart. Love the separate TRX, several cable stations and 4 Smith Machines. Just 1 leg press which is fine. The wait is minimal. Planet Fitness could add additional benches with Olympic bars and 1 squat rack to really level up their exercise game. Large selection of dumbbells and 1 set of barbells. Overall the experience has been great so far. I also notice it's been less crowded compared to other competitor gyms during peak hours which is one of the biggest factors as to why I decided to join. Rows of cardio equipment on both sides of the floor. Gym mirrors are always clean and streak free. Very spacious locker room. Plenty of large and small lockers. Clean showers. Toilet area is always tidy as well. Front desk staff is helpful.

The staff here are super friendly and always greet you, which I loved. But honestly, the vibe of this gym is just depressing. The TVs show starving children, wars, and murder cases—definitely not what I want to see when I’m trying to stay positive. The dim lighting doesn’t help either. Overall, the atmosphere just brings me down, and I’d rather pay a little more for a gym that feels uplifting. Canceled today.

And side note: this is Planet Fitness, not Facebook—you know what I’m talking about lol 🤭

This is a very spacious and well-maintained PF. Most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. I suggest that some in the early AM shift (not the ladies) ensure they greet people and make eye contact as they come in and out.

Question: How is parking so scarce even during slow hours? Other members have shared this concern with me.

I’ve visit this gym from the day they first opened. It’s not my home gym but close to my job. David “ assistant manager” rude and picks and chooses to profile on guest. I ve never experienced anything like this from a Gym. Then the Manager calls back making excuses for his behavior they are for sure a team upholding disrespect and rudeness to guest! I will never step foot in there again. Cerritos is my knew choice gym☺️ love it there.

Is 2am on 7/23 and I just had a very disturbing experience at a location that I come to multiple times a week. I was in the shower and I step out to see a young man cleaning the shower right to me. He did not once announce himself. And it is NOT ok whatsoever. I have no idea if he was watching me shower or seen me naked or anything! The fact that I had to even have a conversation with him while I’m standing in my towel is NOT ok! I asked him why he didn’t say anything and he said he did when he was in the doorway. Mind you there was only 2 other ppl in the gym so unless he was whispering he didn’t say shit. Also the showers are in the back of the the lockers so men need to announce themselves Multiple times. I am so creeped out and I feel violated. He could’ve been taking pictures of me I have no clue because I had no idea there was a man literally standing outside of the shower stall the entire time I was showering. I’m not trying to get anybody fired or anything but please address this. There shouldn’t even be anyone of the opposite sex cleaning the restrooms when someone is showering period. I will be calling to speak with manager in the morning.

I really love planet Fitness, it's clean, staff is friendly, and the equipment is kept in working order. But there is a big problem with the parking. There is hardly any place to park, even the handicap spots are taken up by cars with no handicap plates inside or outside of the car on the car plates. And no one seems to know where all the people are thar belong to the cars, they are not inside of the gym. Can a yone explain this to me.

Today was my first time using the massage chair and hydrobed, and my goodness I loved it after my workout. The massage area was clean,quiet and dim which is a nice ambiance when trying to cool down and relax after a hard workout. Not sure why people complain and PF,but I love this gym.

I judge a gym by the customer service, cleanliness, and equipment availability. I do not judge a gym by the behavior of its members. That being said, the staff does a pretty good job of greeting members with a “welcome” when you arrive and “have a good day” on the way out. While it doesn’t seem like much, it’s a nice touch and the basic courtesy is to acknowledge them with a “thanks” at the very least.

The gym area is always clean and machines are always working. I notice they repair equipment much faster than their competitors. There’s usually a staff member constantly walking around cleaning. Cleaning bottles are usually full and paper towels available to wipe down equipment.

I usually come here during lunch in the middle of the day and it’s pretty empty (except summertime when they allow high schoolers to join at a student rate or something special for the kids). Overall it’s a good gym. This review does not factor restroom or showers because I avoid those at any gym.

"It used to be a great place to work out, but nowadays people seem to lack respect for others who also want to use the gym equipment. For instance, some individuals hog the Smith machines for as long as 1 hour and 45 minutes. The price is awesome, and if you can get referred- even better, it waives the initiation fee. However, there's one thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review. The app will show a 3 out of 10 on the busy scale but good luck finding unused equipment! They have a huuuuge amount of treadmills, rowing machines, and other cardio equipment but their weight machines are in short supply for how busy it gets. You'll have a few good months a year while class is out, since a lot of the attendees seem to be students of every age. It's a very diverse crowd. Truly, everyone is welcome

Started going to this location after signing up for the Long Beach branch. Long Beach was too small so I found this one. In the past 2 months it’s really gone down hill. Bathrooms are always disgusting urinal and sink have been broken for a couple weeks now and there’s flies everywhere. It was always spotless when I started coming here. Not sure what happened but thinking of paying a little extra and going to la fitness if it doesn’t change soon.

Want to like this place since I come here 3-4 days a week but the men’s restroom OMG!!! It’s horrible. Always stinks and I’m pretty sure that the walls in the stalls are molded and have never even been wiped down. Funny thing is that there’s always one of the kids mopping the floors in there when I come in but I bet they’re just in the wasting time since it never even smells like cleaning solvents. They got some new machines which is great and the only reason I keep coming back but I would love to be able to come in the mornings before work and take a shower after my workout but I’m afraid I’ll get some kind of infection or disease. (Yea it’s that bad) how about instead of constantly turning off one side of the treadmills to dust them off every few hours put some more effort into cleaning the restrooms.
I would also love to see their “black card lounge” updated like all the other locations in the Long Beach area. Massage chairs are what you see the mall. They now even take coins lol.

If this place was swapped with the one on Cherry it would be a great gym.

Excellent gym at an unbeatable price. I travel to several different PF gyms and they are all consistently good. Clean, organized with lots of visible, friendly staff and people who actually clean up after themselves and have some gym etiquette. Can't beat the basic price, but I strongly recommend upgrading to the black card for the chair and hydro massagers. Worth every penny.

Came in yesterday Friday 07/07 at 8:50 and left at 10:26 since I walked in employees were just hanging around in the desk area which it’s ok I guess, after finishing every work out I went to grab paper and sanitizer, 4 different stations were out of paper… this was around 15 to 20mn between workouts I was doing different workouts around the building, and most of the stations were out...
I walked to the restroom before leaving (picture down there ) I could have taken more pictures but out of respect for the other women on the lockers I didn’t. I told the employees there was no paper in 4 different stations. When I left the same 4 employees were hanging around in the desk area...
I have brought up some issues on this location to the manager, selene (May misspelled her name), there are no more tables in the dressing rooms just a plain chair, machines are not getting wiped down, the water filter doesn’t get changed when it is supposed to be, I usually bring my own water because I’m not drinking water out of a filter that is on red for a week..
the only person I always see working is a tall gentleman that is always welcoming you with an smile. I wish I can put his name in here I just don’t remember right now .

Men’s bathroom is disgusting. Always dirty and stinks. Mold on the bottoms of all the stall walls. The machines and equipment are dated. Massage chairs are the same ones you see at car washes or the mall not updated like most of the other planet fitness locations.
And lots of homeless people that come to shower or just sit and watch people.
All the staff are just kids which is probably the issue.

I came as a guest. I was really hoping that everything people said about Planet Fitness wouldn’t be true. I was wrong. After the ~20 minute sign-up process, we were told about the ‘gymtimidation’ policies which allowed no tank tops, no slippers, and no ‘dropping weights’ (along with the rule that no bags larger than a fanny pack were allowed outside of lockers). Me and my father (who jokingly referred to me as his brother) were both wearing slides. We went back to our vehicle and put my bag away, and my father changed into some shoes. We didn’t have any shoes in the car that would fit me, and it would be insanely inconvenient to take 30 minutes to drive home and come back with some different shoes. We decided that we would come back in with me staying in my socks and slippers. The lady who had us sign up immediately told me that I couldn’t wear my current shoes. We tried to talk her into allowing me in anyway as it was my first time coming to this gym and I didn’t know about the policies. She threatened us with the fact that she could call staff over. The so-called manager came over and was trying to figure out what the problem was. He sided with her and told us that if I couldn’t change then we should just leave. They offered no sort of grace period even though we had just signed up less than 10 minutes ago, but there was no empathy in this exchange. I will admit that we tried to lie ourselves through a little, claiming that I had to exercise without shoes as part of a training regimen for wrestling (I do wrestle), but they were difficult and insisted that we needed paperwork from a doctor, which I immediately knew was bull. They were hoping they could take our money and shoo us out the door because of this minor issue, probably because my father was obviously foreign. They were quite rude and I was very disappointed in how they handled this. Might I add that they had official images on display depicting a woman with a cropped tank top on? Unless you’re a bit older and want a more relaxed place to work out, do not come here, especially if you are serious about your fitness. And to the owner: We will not contact a club member, nor will be coming back or calling for anything else. If you are replying, you need to be either sincerely apologizing or offering a refund. This customer service was UNACCEPTABLE.

My first impression is that they have a great and welcoming Staff - and I appreciate that. Not many gyms offer a welcoming spirit. The gym is clean, the equipment works, and the price is great.
