I love this place super quiet friendly staff clean equipment clean restrooms lots of machines and free weights i highly recommend specially late hours from 10pm and up. This is an update on my review. On November 20 2025 they removed old equipment and changed to brand new equipment just so you know. It can only get better, come join us this club is the chilliest one around OC I can guarantee you that, specially after 9 pm. I'm not being paid to say this nor I am an affiliate or sponsor I just tell it like it is plus their staff personnel are great people and super 😎

I personally have to say the employees are super friendly very knowledgeable they're constantly checking the restrooms so if you see a mess inside the restroom all you have to do is notify someone at the front desk and they will send somebody in immediately to clean

The location for the gym is great, however, the security guard who trolls in the parking lot needs to be informed that just because one of this #PlanetFitness clients is in a #RecreationalVehicle does not give him the right to limit the time that we are parked out there. Because if I want to spend time at the gym for four hours that’s my prerogative not the security guard who obviously has a #NapoleonComplex.

This location is super close to my house ,very clean however some of the staff is just too rude!! And its often which makes me think there is no supervision of them or they must be related to the owners...I now go back to the anaheim location on Lincoln n knott, no issues at all! ... I like this gym, the staff is nice and the members are overall pretty cool. However there is 1 big problem.

They use these solid blue "air freshener" cakes that are stuck on the walls, the smell is super strong and I can't breathe normally because of that toxic stuff in the air.

Very Clean
Staff was really friendly and I finally felt comfortable using the extra stuff I got the Black Card for. Everyone made me feel like I fit in here more so than my home gym so I may switch! Really cool place to work out without the big crowds.

I don’t have any photos, but I do know I feel very comfortable there-the judgement zone! The machines are easy to use there are QR codes to scan that tell you how to use each machine. There are also weights some yoga mats, and a 30 minute circuit workout.
I am a senior and working on putting myself back together. I like it here!

The employees at Planet Fitness on La Palma are all generally kind and polite. And they are usually helpful and friendly. They greet you on arrive and always say good bye when you leave. They are always there if you have any trouble. I would highly recommend Planet Fitness on La Palma to others!

My son and his friend always go to planet fitness and they say it’s quite a good gym they have plenty of weight equipment and amenities. And they offer the buddy pad with the membership so he can take a buddy with him for free. Many gyms offer that also, but I mean, it’s a cool thing.

It is well run with attentive staff. There are plenty of machines. The layout makes sense. But the other reviews are correct. Julian the assistant manager has a nasty attitude and was not readily willing to help me sign my 88 year old mother in as a guest. When i confronted him, he shot me the evil side eye. Not a professional interaction for someone sporting a leadership badge. I am suprised he was awarded assist manager. He needs customer service skills or an attitude adjustment. It would be nice if this was addressed.

Julian, the assistant manager, is extremely disrespectful, discriminatory, and outrageously nasty towards my daughter and I. I've literally been to many Planet Fitness locations across different states and I've never experienced such mistreatment.

On 2 separate instances, Julian treated me like a criminal and subjected me to despicable treatment at check-in, disallowing me access to a gym franchise that I've been part of for several years.

Management and corporate, please protect yourselves, this franchise location, and the Planet Fitness brand by investigating this matter. I encourage you to review the video/audio footage of Julian's behavior towards my daughter and I. He deliberately embarrasses us in front of other members at the check-in desk and makes us step aside to assist other members that came in after us, making us wait.

1st incident: I checked my daughter and myself in and then left to run an errand next door and Julian demanded that I needed to check in again. I had told him that I just checked in with his staff member and to speak to him. He said that it doesn't matter who I spoke and that I needed to check in again. He failed to find my active account and claimed that my account was inactive. Then his coworker showed him how to find my account, then they finally allowed me access. Julian did not apologize for his mistake and then proceeded to fault me for being unsure if I had 2 accounts. I'm really in shock at the level of harassment I had to endure at check-in and not quite sure why I'm subjected to having to check-in twice within the same hour.

2nd incident: This past Wednesday evening, I tried checking in with my phone # because my phone was left at home. This girl with fake eyelashes disallowed me access and allowed my guest, my daughter, access because she had a guest pass on her phone. I'm not sure her logic in denying me access because my daughter's guest pass is a guest pass off my active account. I insisted that she call my home gym on Knott to verify my membership, she refused. I then took off to run errands asking both her and Julian to work out my membership verification while I was away so I can easily check-in upon my return. They didn't. They again asked for my phone # after the nth time and then made me wait to be verified by my home gym. Even after my home gym's staff confirmed my membership, they would not let me in and Julian wanted to check again on his computer. After I was finally checked in, his direct report was sent into the bathroom to spy on me while I was getting dressed. How intrusive! She walked in to look for me, said nothing to me once she found me, then walked out. Upon leaving, the same staff member was gossiping about me to a female manager. This is wrong, demeaning, and beyond inappropriate in every way.

If you want to take a chance on being belittled and minimized, then this is the gym for you! I'm a Vietnamese single mother in my late 30s that primarily uses the gym to shower. I often leave my phone in the car because I don't bring a lock to secure my belongings. I check in using my phone #. If any of these characteristics or behavior describes you, then you've been warned, you may be subjected to the same discriminatory treatment and practices.

Similar to other reviews, I can confirm that the shower doesn't drain well and the floors are often flooded. Also, the showers are either warm or ice cold, so its hit or miss whether you can take a comfortable shower.

in October 2021, I went to the location in Buena Park where I requested to cancel my subscription because I no longer wanted to come to the fitness center, where I was told that from that month it would close and they would no longer take money from me account but it was not like that and from then until January 2024 they stole money from me from my bank account I consider this a theft I requested to return the money they stole from my bank account but they said that they won't give me anything back!!!!

In September I re-enrolled my son, and they charged me 36 dollars. A few days ago, I unregistered my daughter and yesterday they charged me $39 + $39 + $49. I just went to see what happened and they told me what the charge was. annual, ok but if I just registered my son and paid the $36 and assuming that is correct, why do they charge me the annual fee for my daughter if I already unregistered her a few days ago? The woman who helped me did it with a mocking laugh

I really enjoy this gym! I always feel safe and comfortable here. I love the Black Card amenities, especially the Total Body Enhancement and Tanning machines, I always begin and end my routine with them. Great place to go if you live in East or West Oakland. I've been to both planet fitness on MacArthur Blvd. and on Market. Both are great fitness centers to workout. Clean, properly ventilated, and nice overall environment to workout. The patrons are always respectful, thoughtful and considerate of space and equipment. Check it out for yourself.

Music is way too loud in the men's locker room. Staff regularly hijacks the sound system, plugging in their own device blasting anything from techno synth to mariachi for hours or until enough people complain. The staff apparently doesn't know or care that the song's artist and title are displayed on the monitors throughout the gym. I'm no music expert but I don't think the Foo Fighters, Marshmallow and Billie Eilish are mariachi bands. Yes I do wear earbuds but the music is blasted so loud that you can't help but hear it. When asking the manager about it she very politely claims complete ignorance (pretending her ears didn't work for the last hour) saying everything is locked up and doesn't seem to have a clue as to what I'm talking about, thanks me for my input and says she'll look into it. The equipment is regularly cleaned and kept in good condition, unfortunately the music issue degrades the entire experience.

I am very displeased with the customer service given to us by Elizabeth the staff employee at the front desk. Ángel was present but he’s ok. She’s very unpleasant and always very rude to my husband and I whenever we go to this gym. This gym needs a better representative for customer service. All issues can be addressed in a professional and polite manner. This branch do not any professionalism and good customer service and can cause a decrease of gym members that’s willing to join this gym. I will recommend that if you want to be a part of a gym please join a different branch if you really want to be a part of planet fitness.

Things have changed since my first week or so here. My first day at this location, I said "try not to work too hard" as a friendly gesture and the female employee laughed and said "I'll try not to!" There was also a guy who was always smiling and he was very approachable. Nowadays, the staff has been anything but that. They look at you as if you're crazy when you say hi. They don't say bye back, and all you hear them say is "he said, she said" which is very off-putting. Overhearing employee conversation is one thing, and I don't mind that, but constantly hearing them talk about other people day after day (WHILE I'm signing in, mind you) is just distasteful. Ie, "guess what this person said" or "can you believe that person did that?"

I used to go to the PF on Raymond Blvd in Fullerton but then it just got so dirty there. So I’ve been going to this location for maybe about 2 months now. I love this location ! The staff is great ! This gym is fantastic! You really get your money's worth. I have the black membership and for $22 a month you get tanning, water massage bed, and chair massages included along with every workout machine under the sun. I wish they had a bigger free weight section and barbells but over all it's awesome. They make up for the lack of barbells with the extra smith machines. I love it. Great atmosphere and nice employees.
