I've been going to this gym for a few weeks now and i can say I enjoy it very much. Plenty of treadmill's to use and other equipment. Cleaning stations at every section of the gym to sanitize before and after use. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The locker room is very clean. The restroom could use a bit more cleaning but I can manage. Love this gym

Today, November 18, 2025, I was at the Burbank gym location. I interacted with a new staff member (heavy-set African American male) and I had two concerns regarding customer service.
First, I asked if he could check whether my payment had gone through since my credit cards seem to be declining with planet fitness except with no other vendors now. Although I understand I am registered with the Santa Clarita home gym, he told me he couldn’t check anything because I’m from another location. Later, when I asked for the bar padding for squats, I was told they didn't have any available.
I completely understand that certain limitations are outside of staff control. However, I believe there are more effective ways to communicate with customers. His responses were short and dry, with no acknowledgment or apology for the inconvenience. This can leave a negative impression, especially when dealing with paying members.
Customer service plays a big role in shaping how members view the gym overall. Every other representative at this location has demonstrated good customer service skills, so I’m not sure whether this employee has received proper training in customer relations. As members, we help keep the business running, and it’s important that interactions reflect that value.
It would be appreciated if this could be addressed, so the experience stays positive for everyone.

Worst place ever!
I wasn’t use my membership for 5 month due to physical disability. I called them to cancel it. They said it is possible to cancel only in person. I came, they said you need to speak to manager who is not here. I came next day. And manager told me that to cancel membership I need to pay for all months I was not using this gym.
All other fitness clubs returns your money for 3 last months of not using it. They not allowing you cancel autopay. So basically you stay trapped ones you sing up with them!

This is a fantastic location and it's way better area than the NoHo PF parking lot. The machines are clean well kept. I switched here with the intention of a better place. I just WISH they had the circuit training machines! It's the only place near me that has 24/7 that looks good, but NoHo has the one I need, unfortunately.
If you put the circuit machines in there, I would definitely switch back to Burbank.

I really like this gym the people at the desk are friendly and helpful. The gym seems to be very clean although you might have an insect problem. I've been bitten a couple of times working out on the machines.

The overnight staff is great. Overall it's clean and plenty of equipment. Biggest frustration is people not putting weights back when they are done but in my experience that happens at most gyms. Even still, the staff goes around and collects ALL the left behind dumbells, etc and puts them back.

Cancelled my membership back in September 2024 before the renewal for following month and Planet Fitness still tried pulling money from my account after confirmation of cancellation. The following month they pulled money again PLUS a late fee stating that I cancelled in a weird period that throws the system off. TODAY 7/29/25 they pulled $45 from my account… I haven’t lived in Burbank or been to that gym in months! Terrible billing issues with ALL PLANET FITNESS!

Worst location I have visited unfortunately. Actually my only poor experience w Planet. Tanning beds and red light beds are partially broken, the floors feel unsafe to stand on, the fans don’t work, the beds were dirty w gunk and other people’s hair in it… equipment was okay but the layout is not comfortable. Women’s locker room was also dirty w hunk and hair everywhere. Sry to whoever manages this property, your team has failed you.

Terrible gym location. I wish I could put 0 stars. The manager Magali is very rude. She hangs up on you, doesnt offer solutions to any problem. The Encino location has called on my behalf of a simple task of transferring gyms because apparently the BLACK CARD Membership has a limit on gym visits if its a different owner. They don't tell you that. I have called several times with no assistance. I asked for a corporate number Magali told me it doesn't exist. So who is paying the employees if not corporate exists? Lies. Simple job now turned into all this.

I come here consistently every day. The machines are all in working condition. Everything is proper and clean. There are workers constantly going around cleaning and dusting and it is just a great facility and I love the hours as well.

Everyone here is super nice. Franco especially. Every time I go in he has the best energy and a huge smile. Literally makes me forget anything going on outside the gym and makes my day better. Keep up the great works guys. Michael as well. Everyone is so nice here. There’s one more person I want to add who I feel really goes above and beyond but I have to get his name. The place is big enough, but if you shower here, you have to put your soap on the floor of the shower. Unhygienic. Whoever designed these bathrooms must have never taken a shower before in their life. I use bar soap as well as shampoo and conditioner bars instead of bottles. This makes showering here a safety hazard for people like me. Unfortunate.

I was a member at this location for years and over the years reported to the staff many times about people constantly leaving their trash on the machines but nothing ever changed and it continued happening for years and I eventually gave up, but the staff would call and me and give me crap if I left my towel on a machine for a few minutes to use the bathroom when there are 10 more open of the same exact machines.
Then a few weeks ago there were two friends who were camping out on the only two leg press machines at the same time and barely using them while completely disregarding that there were others waiting for the machines and completely ignoring me and giving me attitude for asking them how long they were going to take but they complained to the staff about me and the manager called me to tell me she cancelled my membership without a warning and wouldn't even listen to my side that these two friends were not showing proper gym etiquette to other users who are waiting for a long time.
The manager even hung up on me while I was in the middle of asking about my wife's membership status who was also a loyal member for years, so we promptly cancelled her membership as well due to the the manager's attitude.
This is the same company that cancelled a woman's membership last year in Alaska for reporting a naked man exposing his genitals in the woman's locker room.
Even the founder of Planet Fitness, Michael Grondahl said "I put my heart and soul into building that company and it's been pretty much destroyed in, you know, it's lost all respect within the country within the last couple of weeks,". "There's no common sense behind it." in regards to the woman who lost her membership.
The company now mainly caters to woke and apparently has no appreciation to their loyal members who have been members for years.
I am now a member at another gym where the staff and members are much more pleasant and friendly than the weirdos PF seems to attract.

I've been looking for a new place to work out and I visited Planet Fitness at two different times to see what it's like.
Firstly, I went in the morning and the staff were very accommodating to let me just walk around and of course I had a lot of questions.
A few of the people working out were also friendly and smiled as I made my way around the gym.
Morning time is a busy time as when I first arrived I sat in my car doing a few text messages it was 8:30am and a lot of traffic going in and out of the gym at that time.
By the time I walked in the door for a tour, it was close to 9am.
They wanted to take down some details and personal information but I declined as I wanted to look around all the gyms in the area and not have them all calling me.
They did try again on the way out a little more but overall understood my position.
The gym is very clean and also the people working out seemed to wipe down the equipment after use. This was a definite on my list as cleanliness of a gym is important.
I was looking around to see if many people had to wait their turn as it's not the biggest gym. In fact, I'd go further and say it's a small gym but they use the space well with lots of useful equipment.
There were always people waiting for equipment here and there. I did notice a patron offering to work in with another lady and they seemed to be happily working out together.
Noted, for future reference that this would be welcome if I end up at peak times in this gym.
The next time I dropped by it was early afternoon. There was less people and parking was much better. I'm just not sure I'll be able to work out this late in the day with work commitments.
Again, the staff were friendly, a lot of useful equipment for my needs.
I also like the fact the gym is open 24hrs. If I can't get a workout before work I could head in later in the evening as an option.
I saw they had some massage chairs and would definitely like to try one if I join this gym.
To some extent, it's got all the equipment I'm looking for with nice patrons and friendly staff. I think the only thing holding me back at the moment is the size of the gym and my limited time to train that's mainly the morning time.
I really after visiting two times have only good things to say about this gym. I'll write another review if i end up joining after a few months. Thank you staff for letting me pop in a few times.

And this is already happening again, not the first time in this gym some employees behave rudely! Next to the shower for people with disabilities there is a door to the utility room. People come here to improve their health, not to lose it! I am standing under a hot shower, and they opened the door to this room and organized such a draft of cold air that I felt cold under the hot shower! I closed the door and the employee ran up to me and started yelling at me and threatened to cancel my membership! This cartoon threatens to take away the membership of the gym to a person who has seen two wars! They have no idea, no understanding that a person can get sick because of a draft and in general it causes discomfort when you are standing in the shower and a powerful cold air blows on you! You might as well take a bath in the rain? This is not the first employee and others have had a similar incident - teach your employees to respect customers! I will probably look for another gym.

Probably one of the nicest locations I've been to!
It was pretty busy, but spacious and didn't feel crowded. It was very clean, even in the womens bathroom/locker room).
The hydromassage and massage chair facilities were very nice, but I don't think they were cleaning them between patrons (no instructions were up saying to clean them yourself after use).
The tanning was really nice with new bulbs too!
I had a great workout and recovery there!
The staff members I met (it seemed every time I looked that there was someone different at the desk) were all friendly and helpful!

I’m extremely disappointed with my Planet Fitness gym experience at 10950 Sherman Way Suite 160, Burbank, CA 91505.
The showers were in terrible condition—dirty, with visible mold that clearly hasn’t been addressed in a long time. It’s unacceptable, especially in a place where hygiene should be a priority.
Another big issue at this location is that even I have the Black Card Membership, which is supposed to offer unlimited access to any location, I was still asked to pay an additional fee just for using the gym that wasn’t my home location.
Planet Fitness is a franchise, and all locations should FOLLOW THE SAME POLICY but this local franchise seems to operate differently,
and should be reported to Headquarters Office.
On top of that, I’ve visited multiple Planet Fitness locations all over the USA, and this is the only gym where they limit massage chair use to just 5 minutes—even when no one else is waiting. It feels like the management here is overly greedy and not focused on providing the customer experience we’re paying for.
I cannot recommend this gym to anyone and will be taking my business elsewhere.

I am writing to formally complain about a staff member, Sammie, and her manager at the Planet Fitness gym located at 10950 Sherman Way Suite 160, Burbank, CA 91505. Sammie has been extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, argumentative, talking back, and rude to me during my visits. I raised several issues with the staff, including poor Internet, no Muscle Milk, consistent fire alarms going off in the back room, and no soap in the shower area, with the poor Internet being particularly problematic. Rather than addressing these concerns, the staff dismissed them, attributing the Internet issue to the building and stating that stocking Muscle Milk was a franchise decision. Sammie’s response to my feedback was unprofessional and defensive, suggesting I "go to another gym" instead of addressing the issues. Additionally, today, when I scanned my Planet Fitness card at an unoccupied card reader while Sammie was talking to another customer, she gave me attitude, saying, "You should know that you can't scan yourself in, you used to work at a Planet Fitness gym before." This behavior is unacceptable and not reflective of Planet Fitness’s standards of customer service. Furthermore, I explained that my bank deactivated my debit card due to a fraudulent claim, and since the gym does not accept cash, I found this problematic, as cashless gyms should not be the standard, especially post-COVID. As a United States Air Force military veteran, I should not be treated this way. I request that Sammie and her manager be terminated for allowing and engaging in such behavior, and for banning me from the gym. I will also be filing a discrimination and disability lawsuit against this gym, particularly Sammie and the general manager, for their treatment of a military veteran. Additionally, I will be contacting the district or regional manager, director of operations, and any executives or board members to ensure Sammie is held accountable and terminated. When I informed Sammie that I would be contacting the corporate office, so that Sammie gets fired, she condescendingly replied, "No, I won't," and smirked, further demonstrating her intolerable, unprofessional behavior and belief that she is untouchable. Multiple customers reported and shared photographic evidence of a severe cockroach infestation in the shower area of this Planet Fitness location on Google Maps Reviews and Yelp. Such conditions raise serious health and safety concerns. It is imperative that the appropriate regulatory authorities, including the CDC, OSHA, and other federal agencies overseeing the gym, fitness, and business industries, conduct an immediate investigation and take necessary action to ensure compliance with California health and safety standards. All of these events transpired in August of 2024.

Had the worst customer service experience this morning at about 3am at planet fitness at this location. The girl greeting comes up and just says "app?". I'm looking for my app and at the same time say can you please look me up with my phone number and I gave her. She turns back and says "what? Here, a paper and pen, can you write it down?....hmmm your accent....You have a very thick accent and I have no idea what you're saying"...!!!???
I couldn't believe my ears....someone actually talking that way....
I mean zero or below zero customer service, being so racist and mentioning my accent, let alone having audacity to say "thick accent " which I don’t have and no one ever before has mentioned that, and in such a rude way- throwing a paper in front of me to write my number.
Then she turns around and says "are you still looking for your app?, I don't know what your problem is but you can download the app, so we don't have to go through this again"...!!??
Then she says " I don't know, you're not even in the system..."
I asked her for her name and she says in a very rude way "I don't feel comfortable giving my name, but I can give my manager's name"
No sorry...no apologies...no nothing
Complete useless rude zero customer service, just standing there playing with her phone all night.
The worst experience in such a long time- unfortunate for planet fitness to have hired someone like her that definitely should not have a position in customer service whatsoever, let alone in the front welcoming people in.

Had about the worst experience on the phone with a girl identifying herself as the general manager of this location. The butterfly machine used for chest/back has been out of order for at least 3 weeks and everyone I spoke to working the evening shifts have not been able to answer when it will be replaced or if they will get an additional one. They told me that managers work during the day so I called yesterday, Friday 6/21 and after stating my concern and question the general manager talked to me like I was a child. No acknowledgment that it’s taking long, no attempt to understand why they need a second machine as it is very popular. But instead telling me that I can use dumbbells or sit in with the trainer. I’m studying to be a trainer myself and have been working out for many years. I’m quite capable of using dumbbells. 😂
Machines provide a lot more safety when lifting heavy than dumbbells I explained. NO attempt to connect with my concern and she continued to try to speed talk over me and essentially hung up on me with her last words being an insincere “thank you.”

OK so I’ve been coming to this planet fitness now for almost 3 years I’ve had the black card membership I’ve never had any issues until just recently with the staff. I don’t know if it’s because of the new hires or the manager ,but I find myself being ignored while trying to check in ,not the first time but today was ridiculous after finishing my work out I go and try to check in and the girl at the desk is having her own private conversation with another employee come to find out that she was the manger,and than try to lecture me on how not to interrupt them next time and criticize me on proper etiquette how to talk to them better when, I never once disrespected them nor raised my voice or insulted them , any how no big deal I got over it and continued my with my day ,than as I was leaving the manager magali stoped me and threatened to cancel my membership the next time we have a Situation, I asked her really what did I do to do so ,and reply’s that I need to learn how to talk to them apparently, when they where talking to me with no respect as I still was giving them there respect I think these young kids tend to forget that they are working and on the clock not on personal time and should have better training in proper costumer service and proper self etiquette it seems that how you are treated is depending on what kind of mood the staff is in ,when leaving guy at counter just stares at me and gives me dirty looks as I get in my truck and drive away …. Unbelievable and inexcusable

The location is great usually never busy. However when checking in staff members can deny entry based on their judgement- that’s what happen to me last night 5/9. My check-in photo “didn’t look like me”, he threatened to ban me if i didn’t present current ID. I called management talked about the incident- apparently they have the right to question any time they personally feel like that’s not you. For a place that screams “judgement free zone”, they will judge your appearance not Planet Fitness, but the staff personally. Policies should be updated and the company needs to train the staff members to continuously take photos of members regularly not when they feel like it. Below is a photo of the member who denied my entry, they don’t need to wear name badges apparently.

This is the worst gym ever one of there employees physically assaulted me for wiping out a sink sanitizing it before I used it there employee ripped the paper towels out of hand while grabbing my wrist then I went to management told them what happened when I went back 3 days later they said the revoked my membership after 5 years of membership. Workers are awesome and the gym is clean. However, the equipment is limited. 85% of the gym are treadmills, and there are only like 5 types of strength machines.
There are only 3 squat racks which are always taken, and sometimes one of them are on maintenance .
I lift at 4am before work and sometimes all 3 squat racks are taken. It's extremely difficult to have a thorough workout here. It's crowded during the day.
If they cut down on treadmills / cardio machines by 50% and added machines like T-Bar, Calf Raise Machine, Incline Bench Machine, Shoulder Flys, the gym would get closer to 4 stars. As of right now, it's not the best place to work out if you want to put on muscle.

So I love this gym but I came in early and started to my skincare routine ,painted my nails and started to do my hair I have kinky hair that takes a while to do at least a hour or more O wanted to look cute because I figured it would help my workout and out of nowhere someone an employee came up to me talking about a loitering policy. I assumed that since Im a black card member it wasnt like I was sleeping on a bench or layin on the floor but actively getting ready in the gym locker room. Not sure what this is but wow is all.I got to sya is wow.

I just signed up today, I had a great workout, tons of space. However my experience with the staff was horrible particularly with the General Manager Magalay, I went in to Burbank location to signup. One of the staff Isabel, sign me up. I had issues getting started with the app. I didn’t receive any verification email. Isabel had to manually sign me up. After my work out, I tried to link the account and it showed that I apparently I have an email account associated, mind you I never signed up with Planet Fitness before today. I called a spoke with the General Manager and immediately was told to use a different email to get set up, rather than figure the issue. She was rude and cold, and when I said maybe I should cancel membership. She didn’t even care, I called north Hollywood location to ask more questions about this issue. They were helpful in removing an account. I called Burbank and the cancel my membership without me physically being there. Needless to say I will not be joining this gym. DO NOT SIGN UP AT BURBANK.

They cut my lock at 9:00 pm on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving. They had signs saying the gym would be closing at 10pm BUT NOTHING about cutting locks at 9 PM so they can clean up on time. I told the front desk and she confirmed they were NO SIGNS stating the locks would be getting cut. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I guess that what you get when you pay 10 bucks a month so it's my fault, really. Ugh.

Three men bullied my girlfriend at this gym and the gym allowed it. My girlfriend was afraid for life. Happened at the Sylmar location, as well. They don’t enforce their own rules in the 30 minute workout and members use it for sets. They fill their cleaning bottles with water which is highly ineffective. The gym is filled with thugs who bully people.

This gym is awful. People sit at machines like they are camping out on it. The employees don’t care. And three men bullied me at the gym, guys that the front desk guy claimed were his buddies. Wow. They also want you to clean machines with the water in the spray bottles that does nothing to clean the machines. They really need to set time limits for the machines other than the 30 minute training yellow ones. This gym is insanely packed everyday and some people hog the machine for over 30 minutes to almost hours and since there is no policy in place they feel entitled to the machines and dont allow others to use it.
