My 1st visit to this gym was to try the red light therapy. Unfortunately my 2nd experience was not so pleasant; I left with the intent of never returning again and I left a negative review here. Fortunately, Brandon, the manager, reached out to me & went to great efforts to address my complaints. I went back yesterday and was so pleased to be able to enjoy the red light therapy again. I regret not reaching out to Brandon in the first place instead of posting a nevative review here. He knows how to do 5 star customer service.

This PF club has friendly staff that welcome you at the desk and thank you on the way out. This may not be the mightiest PF of them all but there is a lot of heart here. A good chunk of machines are out of order and many need repair. The BC Spa is wonderful but the equipment is just old. I got in a "just okay" workout as my equipment was out of order but I still really enjoyed the experience!

Excellent Physical Excercise Facility. Membership is priced low compared to other local gyms. The equipment is top notch and well maintained. As a long-time Planet Fitness customer, I am highly disappointed by the staff at the desk. On June 3rd, at 9:00 a.m., I requested to use the tanning bed. I was told I needed to have special tanning goggles. After showing the woman at the counter my sunglasses, she stated that the company policy prohibits the acceptance of sunglasses. After telling her that I had used my sunglasses many times at this location, she reiterated, “Company policy clearly states that tanning goggles must be used." And, let me tell you, she said it with a “snotty” tone. Surely there was a better way to handle this. Here are a couple of thoughts:

• For starters, if that is company policy, follow it. Not applying this policy consistently will create unnecessary customer disappointment.

• How about just simply being polite? This is part of the Planet Fitness brand. I am nearly always acknowledged when entering and leaving

• How about checking with other staff to confirm my prior use of the bed? Perhaps it could have been, “We will let you use it this time with your sunglasses. Afterwards, you will need to have tanning glasses.”

• I looked up the policy on the corporate website. It says goggles are available for purchase. This would have been nice to know, given I made a one-hour round trip to use the bed.

I’m cancelling my membership. Goodbye, Planet Fitness.

The staff here is really nice and I think it’s a brand new gym. All the equipment seems new and it’s in really good shape. There is no large room for group classes or much space where you can go and freestyle your workout. However, there is one little nook where you can do freestyle workouts with free weights. Mostly it’s weight machines here. The massage machines are a nice touch for the extra price. There is always parking.

This gym suits my needs. Most staff are really friendly and helpful. Just 1 staff member is officious.
Equipment is great. Cardio area is cooled nicely by big ceiling fans. Upper level can get pretty warm but bearable.
The price is good.
I’m very pleased with Planet fitness and really enjoy my 3 visits per week.

I see members at the gym on a workout machine playing on their phone and oblivious to everybody else who may be waiting for the machine. How about an occasional announcement to the gym about this issue? Otherwise, the gym is in good condition. Overall, I like the openness and the large fans. The corporation needs to encourage members to get off their phones while on machines. It has led to a friend being banned because he asked the interloper how much longer will they be on this machine.

Cleanest and least expensive gym in town. But after working out here a while, the biggest problem is too small of a free weight area. It's the most crowded part, as everyone from a conventional gym wants to be in this corner. The smith machines are good, but there are no freeweight bench presses, so hard to get on one of the 4. There are only 3 mirrors that everyone should be in front of, because lifters need to watch their form. The barbells only go from 20 to 60 pounds, so this isn't enough for a heavy lifter. The space could be improved if they got rid of the unused cardio machines. I wish the owners would re-allocate their investments into equipment that people actually use. Only one leg press. Only one pec deck. This is a decent cheap beginner gym, but if you want to be serious, you have to have to pay more for a real free weight gym. There aren't enough around here. Update: another larger Planet Fitness opened a few miles away in Palm Desert with an improved layout. But you can only use one gym under the basic membership. You have to pay double if you want access to both (or all) Planet Fitness gyms. Update 2: This gym got a slight refresh with 2 more plate machines and more barbells, but no more mirrors, so the free weight area is as congested as it was before.

I thought it was going to be a good move to start exercising again. How could I turn dow the $10 sign up and $24.99 a month? So the employee helps sign me up scrolling like crazy thru page after page and “sign here” every so often. What they fail to tell you is that now they’re going to also charge you $49.00 for an ANNUAL fee. What a shocker! There’s also a late fee when they had auto debit info. So never again. BIG MISTAKE! I genuinely enjoy coming to this gym. My only complaint is that the locker rooms and restrooms need a lot of attention. On my last visit it was the filthiest I had ever seen it. Trash,toilet paper, seat covers, and even underwear were all over the floor. On that day I was there for nearly 3 hours and yet nobody cleaned those restrooms.I can tell the locker rooms have not been checked regularly because one particular locker has had the same dirty underwear along with some other items for at least 3 weeks. If it wasn't for the condition of the locker rooms I would give this gym a 5 star review.

Bad experience today with some psycho women who was on her smartphone for 15 minutes at a piece of equipment I was waiting to use in the 30 minute workout zone. After I had completed all the other pieces of equipment I kindly asked her to use the equipment and she snarled at me saying she wasn't done using it. When I informed her that she had been sitting there for the past 15 minutes not using the equipment she got verbally abusive and then verbally threatened to hit me once I approached the manager. Poor manager was new, so I didn't want to press more other than to tell my side, but wow...psychos to have to work around at the gym... crazy. Never had that before in 8 years at PF.

Okay…as much as I hate to do this, this gym needs a serious clean! I walk in here daily to see the workers talking at the desk but our lockers and bathrooms aren’t clean. Always trash, hair, and I clean floors! The toilets are disgusting. It’s just disappointing to pay $25 for a gym membership for it not to be cleaned at a gym standard. I have made a review about this gym before and it seems like the owner or managers aren’t making an effort to get the gym cleaned. There currently are 8 broken machines at this facility. They use buckets when it rains because there are holes. I’ve decided I will NOT return to this gym. Alex at the front desk got mad when I asked him for a corporate number to report this gym to them and that’s why I decided to just leave a review.

We’re visiting Palm Springs and are glad there’s a PF for us to use. The gym is large - lots of equipment. And it’s pretty busy so it’s well-used. The machines all work pretty well - a few need some maintenance and pad replacement. But it could be cleaner - the men’s bathroom sink area is just always a mess and needs VERY regular wiping down. And there needs to be a lot more cleaning stations which will hopefully help the people who don’t think they need to wipe down their machine after they use it follow through with that. Staff are always very friendly!

Went to see what types of memberships they have. They have a decent place they have more equipment than most. The prices are good, but there is a $50 yearly fee for all members no matter what type of membership you have. That still beats most of the other places. (Addition to original post) we went ahead and got two black card memberships and so far we are very happy with it. I really like the atmosphere and the staff are great.

I love the black card room & that it’s almost 24hrs open. All the beds are amazing. Especially Red light with vibration plate! Staff is friendly and the colors are perfect! Decent gym. Basic offering but inadequate for serious lifters. Nice perk are the 24 hrs so you can train anytime you want. But just mon - thur. Very clean and few items out of order or in need of repair. Usually fixed quickly. Good signs for any gym. No squat racks, benching or dumbbells over 80lbs. Just Smith machines. Like I mentioned, basic, but better gets job done.
