This is my favorite gym! I’ve been going for about three years now and it never fails to meet my expectations. I recommend this gym to all my friends, not only are the employees very kind, always greeting you at your entrance and goodbyes at your exits but I love how incredibly clean and spacious the ceres planet fitness is. A clean and positive environment is most important to me and ceres planet fitness is exactly that. And, best of all very affordable for all machines necessary.

The Ceres Planet Fitness is my home gym. Not just because it’s close to where I live, but because it truly feels like home. Julie (the manager) and her staff, including John and Tiffany, make this location a cut above the rest.

I’ve visited many Planet Fitness locations across the country, and this one is my favorite by far. Every staff member greets me with a smile, knows me by name, and makes me feel like I belong. That welcoming atmosphere has been one of the biggest reasons I’ve been able to stay consistent on my health journey.

Since joining in April 2025, I’ve lost 45 pounds and gained a lot of strength. The energy here keeps me motivated and coming back day after day.

Thank you, Julie, John, Tiffany, and the entire Ceres PF team for creating something special. I truly consider you all friends.

I usually don’t take the time to write a review but today 10-18-25 I had a horrible experience with an assistant manager named Tiffany she refused to give a last name but this morning thinking I was going to go release some stress because I’ve recently lost two family members to death I got denied entrance and was pretty much embarrassed over being one day late on my $25 payment usually when my deposits hasn’t cleared yet the app says you have this one entry and can’t be let in the next time which I understand.The thing is In the past it was fine they let me in if my payment was just a day late I’ve been going to this location for close to a year now even continued paying my membership through my ACL surgery and my broken thumb surgery when I couldn’t work out anymore.Plant fitness claims code of ethics but when I relayed to their employee named Tiffany that I would pay later today like I’ve done in the past it wasn’t good enough for her and I was told in a very rude way “it don’t matter what it says on the app it’s up to their location.”I was spoken to in a very unprofessional manner I own my own business here in Modest Ca Big Dawg Truck Accessories Rv & Hitches you can google me..so I felt like I was being told I’m a liar of some sort when I wasn’t let in this time but Why in the past with other employees did they trust me and not her! Even if she didn’t want to let me in she could’ve said it in a professional manner and I would’ve of understood but the way she came off as if she was on a power trip.It Seriously making me think if I should get a membership somewhere else where I wouldn’t be treated like a liar or talked to unprofessionally.I had a membership somewhere else for years and not once were the employees ever rude over a payment or anything like that I might just go back if nothing is done or some kind of repercussion to this rude employee.Where’s the ethics of being a trust worthy customer at!? The gym is a great place for a quick workout. It’s small, but it’s quieter now that vacation is over. There aren’t many young adults hogging the machines. The only thing that bothers me as a woman is the lack of toilet seat covers in the women’s bathroom. There is none and don’t provide because I asked why. When I need to use the restroom, I have to place toilet paper all over the toilet, which is not only uncomfortable but also unsanitary.

I am currently giving the gym a 2 star because Friday when I went into the gym around 3:30 pm. I had notes a loose machine nut by the slim machine. As past personal trainer for over 10 yrs. It’s concerning to me when I see lose or missing equipments as clients can get injured. I went around the gym seeing from what machine it was and found that it was from a bench that had been moved to the far side of the dumbbells.

Once I knew what machine it was, I went to the front desk and asked a young gentlemen working at the movement to follow me so I can show him what machine was missing the nut and told him what he could do to fix it. I gave him the piece and walked away.

When I was done with my workout around 5:30 pm. I was curious to see what the employee had done. I went to check the bench and pulled on the nut and it completely slipped out with no problem. I went to the front desk and asked the young lady employee working about who was current manager in charge and she told me she was. She had seen when I asked her coworker to follow me and I told her what had happened. She replied that they are not allowed to fix any equipment. Which I understood. But I mentioned to her that if they can’t fix the bench, that they should move it to the back, to prevent a member getting injured. She told me that she could not do anything and that if I wanted to talk to the manager. That she would be back on Monday.

I had planned to write this on Friday but got busy. I personally like this location over the other once in the area. But the lack of care of employees can lead to a member getting injured and a possible lawsuit for the owner of the franchise.

For the Ceres location. Is it possible to open at 4am on Mondays and also on days you plan on opening at 5am. My family and workout every morning starting at 4am and try to be out of the gym before 6am. Opening at 5am especially in weeks you are closing everyday cuts out workout schedule by one hour. We’d greatly appreciate it if you can open at 4am. I’m just one voice, but I’m certain there are many who would appreciate this request being made. Thank you.

I had my membership and I freezed it because I was too busy with my job, I asked what day I had to cancel before I got charged an they said August 17 but they gave me the date after they took the annual fee out for my bank account so I get scammed with 49.00 + 49.00 from my husbands account too on August first so I went there to see if I could get a refund and they said no they never do refunds so I ended canceling I don’t recommend to freeze your account just cancel it because they’re not transparent with their clients they didn’t tell me they were going to take the annual fee on August first if they did tell me I would’ve canceled before that date just be careful on your decision.

I’m very disappointed with how overcrowded the gym has become ever since free access was offered to teenagers. Most of them spend their time sitting on the machines using their phones, making it nearly impossible for paying members to work out. I’ve also witnessed some of them vaping inside the gym while supposedly exercising, which is completely unacceptable in a fitness environment. Due to these ongoing issues, I’ve decided to cancel my membership, along with those of my family members.

It was my first time coming to a gym in a long time so i was kinda nervous about it but I had a great returning experience thanks to Jocelyn. She’s a very welcoming face when coming in and she didnt hesitate to help me get started as I started a membership. She did a great job at explaining the difference between the two different types of memberships and what things the black card offers that the regular membership doesnt. She helped me navigate the app and know how to use it.

Jocelyn was kind enough to show me a general outline of how the gym laid. She showed me the bathrooms/showers and the lockers. She made sure i was comfortable in knowing that if I had any questions regarding anything that i could rely on her to answer them. There were a few instances where I had some questions about certain machines and she didnt hesitate at all to give me an explanation and show me how to use them.

First time gym goer. Decided to go with my local Ceres location because of previous reviews. And I got to say that they lived up to the standard. John got me all checked in and signed up. Started walking on the treadmill and lifted a few dumbbells. Eventually I worked up the courage to ask this young man, John, for help with a machine. Gym is decent, my only complaint is that they aren’t 24hrs, 7 days a week like they used to be. 7am-9pm Fri-Sun really puts a dent in my work out schedule. I enjoyed going really early morning when only a few people were there, I really don’t like a crowded gym like there is in the day time. Plus I’m a night shift worker so day time gym really cuts into my sleep schedule. Now, I only have the option of going 4 days of the week which isn’t the best when ur doing workout splits which is optimal for muscle recovery, having rest days. I think this gym had a huge leg up being 24hrs and it gave people much more options to workout at a time that works for them, plus I can imagine how many more people were prioritizing their health & working out more often with the old 24hrs. 7am-9pm 3 days a week imo is pretty limited and really puts the gym and members at a disadvantage. I don’t understand why the hours changed.

Could definitely use more benches and equipment.
I feel that it could be reconfigured to fit more equipment by cutting down on some of the cardio equipment.
Just got back to the gym after some time away and all is pretty much the same except for the drinking foundation needs new filter.
Water tastes terrible as is so obviously the filter has been ignored.
Signs around say stay hydrated but I can't see that with the water they have available from the foundation. Please fix so one doesn't go thirsty.
Otherwise offer free water bottles.

Great & clean gym. It can be really busy during the evening due to the HS kids hanging out around the machines. Wished they had a time frame for the HS kids to be here. Like 1-1.5 hours hour max. Sometimes they are just hanging out around talking and not using machines.

Also, please install seat covers in the restrooms. There is a lot of traffic going in n out of restrooms and to be safe of any disease/infection it’s best to have seat covers in the gym restrooms.

I would recommend going to another planet fitness or wait till the summer is over. Right now the place is terrible. They have a promo going on for HS kids to work out for free all summer. It has turned into a hangout spot. Kids just hanging out on the machines on their phones or in the locker room, messing around, or in the parking lot also just hanging out. Doesn't seem fair for those of us who pay a membership. I could see if they had set hours for them to be there, but this promo wasn't really given enough thought. The gym itself is nice, though, and well equipped.

This Planet Fitness is so unkept. So many broken machines that are either down completely or the cable to the weight adjustments is broken. The black cushions are ripped on many, which makes working out uncomfortable. Also, the crowd meter is way off. 4 bars, yet I stay waiting for machines to not be occupied. Also, what’s up with all the youngings crowding around the machines in groups of 4-5 just talking?

My first time visit to this PF location was this morning. I've been happy with the Los Banos location but just for the heck of it I decided to try the Ceres PF. The Drive distance is exactly the same. I'm already very familiar with the Turlock PF. My first visit to Los Banos PF resulted in a five star review and after a well seasoned honeymoon period the five stars are deserved still. This, Ceres, location is receiving only four stars for one reason. The upholstery on a lot of the equipment is in poor condition. Really, poor is too soft a word and that's a shame because all else about the place is at least five stars worthy. The parking and curb appeal is very good. The music, not once, made me cringe. Those working out (members) were courteous and no clacking and banging occurred during my workout. The staff was polite and professional and Xavier deserves ten stars. Xavier patiently provided assistance that I requested to acquaint myself with the equipment that was new to me. Xavier really listened and got me up to speed. I'm going to workout at Ceres for long enough to figure out if the drive is less treacherous than the drive to Los Banos. The Turlock location speaks for itself.

Bad experience! Tried to cancel my membership, I was not successful. It has been 6 months, I have not visited the gym One time and for Six months they have tried to take member fees out. It has cost me over$160.00 in insufficient funds. I tried several times to cancel by phone & online but I am told each time "you have to go gym to cancel". I signed up online, I do not have time to go to gym; I WORK OUT OF TOWN!

Cleanest planet fitness in northern California. Huge facility. Very clean and spacious. Nice location. Surrounded by several dining options, and even a save Mart next door. MOST of the staff is very professional pleasant and helpful, with acception of one female working late evening, who was a bit snooty to me, when warming me about being late with payment only 2½ weeks into a brand new membership.
Other than that, everyone else there is warm, welcoming, and pleasant.

The two gentlemen that worked the overnight shift today were courteus and professional.They clean through out their shift,and are always available for questions from members.I always come to this particular Planet Fitness because of the friendly atmosphere.

this is BY FAR THE CLEANEST, AND ABSOLUTE BEST PLANET FITNESS I'VE SEEN.
not only is this place staffed with polite, friendly, and helpful people,
but the locker room is spacious, and in tip top shape, with plenty of clean, and will maintained workout equipment. management and employees alike should be proud of this club. oh, there is plenty of parking space as well.

First off I go to several different PF locations in the valley, Manteca, Modesto. Turlock a few others and Ceres. The ceres location is always super clean and always has enough staff on hand to help with anything! The staff is always friendly available and ready to help! This is by far the best PF locations in the valley! Keep up the great work it is truly appreciated by everyone!

The white girl jenna who works afternoons is always so rude ! Even when asking her a simple question she answers back with an attitude and then rolls her eyes, several people I go to the gym with have had the same experience with her. The only reason I’m giving this gym 3 stars instead of 1 is because the gym is always clean and I’ve had the pleasure of talking to other employees who work afternoons like Noel, Jocelyn , and Matt and they’re always super helpful and nice ! She could learn a thing or 2 about respect from her coworkers

The two young ladies working today Saturday morning were so helpful! I believe their names were Julie and Jocelyn or Jasmine, but I’ve been struggling to stay committed to the gym and they were so open to any questions I had and super encouraging. They made me feel like they actually cared about my gym experience and didn’t make me feel rushed even though they had other things to do. Super pleased with the sign up process they made it clear, quick, and easy. Thanks guys :)

Matt, Janay, Chelsea are great. I always see Janay cleaning, wiping, moping the floors. Overall it's a great experience here and I live in Turlock. Turlock has all new machines but I still think the layout is funky. Ceres Planet Fitness is still a better gym because of the layout and overall it's cleaner. I go to both daily because Ceres is truly 24 hrs and Turlock is closed at 9 PM on weekends. Thanks Ceres Crew!! ~Gerardo

I like this gym, clean and friendly. But my issue is that there is only two fans in this entire gym and in the back of the gym there is absolutely no circulation and is hot as hell. It makes it almost unbearable to workout here. My advice, install some fans in the back of the place to allow better circulation and make it more comfortable for people working out.

Horrible management. There's more than 10 machines that have been broken for nearly 6 months now. Every time I ask when they will be fixed, the only update is parts are on back order. All 3 stair masters have been broken for months as well as 3 cable machines. 3 other leg machines are broken as well. This is completely unacceptable!

Walked into the bathroom and none of the stalls give you the options for a seat cover. It’s unnecessary to have to roll out ten feet of toilet paper just to use it. Also, the girl with grown out roots and pink hair decided to mop the whole locker and bathroom area, never put out a wet floor sign causing my girlfriend and I to almost slip on the way into the bathroom, and on the way out she was sitting on the bench in the locker room, on her phone and STILL no wet floor sign. I verbally said it out loud walking out that it’s a SAFETY HAZARD to not put out a sign and she just ignored and sat in the locker room for another 10 minutes before proceeding back to the front desk.
