There's a feminine man who works out daily and takes selfies in the women's locker room. He doesn't care if people are half dressed or there are minors in there (I was with my 14 yr old). I like the gym, but I signed up for the $25/month plan and added my bank account and debit card. Supposedly, they couldn't charge it from my bank account, so they're supposedly charging $40/month from my debit card. I found a nephew at the gym who I hardly ever looked at. He told me the same thing happened to him, and they didn't give the money back to everyone who has a membership there. Check your account statement because they're stealing. I usually go to the one in Antioch. Today, I decided to check out the one in Concord. My experience was not the best. It was smaller, there was barely any space to workout, and the internet connection sucks, meaning I couldn’t even listen to music while working out, no matter how hard I tried.

Not to mention that this place is in dire need of remodeling. I saw a hole in the wall, the bathroom smells god awful, and it feels a little claustrophobic overall.

I’ll just stick to the one in Antioch. This Planet Fitness is a no for me.

I used to have nothing but positive feedback for this Gym and location but recently everything has changed. Sadly it’s the way of the world now. All the good employees have been replaced with new young men who tend to congregate in the check in area and socialize and ignore you. I have been a client here for so many years and the other day I was rushed out of the tanning bed. As soon as the timer went off I stood up to get dressed and I barely had my pants on and they are knocking on ,are you ok ,yes I said , then a few later minutes later when I finished throughly cleaning the bed another knock at the door are you ok ? I opened the door and told the guy would you like me to not clean the bed next time ? All of this because someone else wanted the room . I know you get a lot of homeless people in there who spend a lot of time in the various rooms but I was in the 10 minutes after the timer went off I have layers of work out clothes to put back on spandex takes time . Then the guy started talking about me to the person waiting for the bed he didn’t know I was standing right behind him and I’m like how unprofessional can you be .

Members beware, don't use the locker rooms. My car was stolen from in front of PF by a PF member who broke into my locker and stole my keys. The general manager Shontelle was beyond unhelpful and I believe she falsifies her work hours as she's never there when she was suppose to be. I had to sidestep her and contact upper management to get any real help. I cancelled my membership which I've had for almost 2 years as I don't feel safe coming anymore.

I go between the Walnut Creek and Concord locations, and I must say the Concord location has way more strength training equipment, which is great. 6 Smith racks vs 4 at WC, a lot more benches, two areas with dumbell racks (vs 1), dumbells in 2.5lb increments (vs 5lb), plus a bigger variety of equipment, and just a more open environment. Frankly, the WC location is undersized, and the weight training area is shoved into the very end of the gym. It's very crowded at all times of the day, almost impossible to get a Smith rack without having to wait while someone sits on their phone for 10 minutes in between sets.

This location can also get crowded, but I try to come at a less busy time using the app to check the crowd meter, which is usually pretty accurate. It's a much more relaxed atmosphere, the only gripe I have is there are very few areas to lay out mats. The shopping center for this gym is a little bit sketch too, if I'm being honest, and this is during the day. I'd be a bit nervous parking here at night.

I waited for a singular machine one day for forty minutes due to one guest taking their time. (There is also only one of these machines available at this location.). Way too many people do not wipe down the equipment. Please do better. This is supposed to be a place where people feel comfortable.

Locker rooms seem to always be dirty. The traffic here is wild. Smells nasty in the men’s locker room. Last night my wife sent me pictures of the women’s locker room and it was unacceptable. Definitely don’t recommend this gym. Need to learn to maintain it properly.

It’s cheap and the location is easy to access. I have three issues with it, it’s definitely the worst of the 6 that I have been to.

1) It’s always uncomfortably hot no matter the season. This just might be my issues since I run hot, but the other locations I’ve been to keep the temperature set below 75.

2) The men’s bathroom always smells terrible no matter the day and time. I get that Californians have given up on caring about the cleanliness of public bathrooms, but going into a bathroom and seeing a urinal filled with gum and it reeking isn’t pleasant (or worth $20 a month).

3) People just sit on their phones on machines forever. I don’t know why, but even when it’s less crowded, there seems to be a 1 in 3 chance most of the weight machines are taken and people sit on them for 15 minutes. I get my style is to get in and get out, but it gets ridiculous having to leave halfway through cause every machine you want next is taken and no one has moved in 15 minutes. The other 2 days in the rotation seem to have every cardio machine taken. Every other one I’ve been to, seems to have people that disperse evenly between weights and cardio.

Again, I’ve been to 6 different Planet Fitness’s and this has to be the worst I’ve been to. It’s worth $10, but not $20.

This is not a clean place and the staff are not friendly at all. I almost stepped in vomit on the floor of the changing room and when I let the girl up front know she said " Eww " and walked away. It stayed on the floor for over an hour. Maybe it takes a person slipping and breaking a wrist for the management to train their employees better.

I have never seen a more vile dirty fitness club in my life. The garbage out front of the gym is horrendous. Used diapers, needles, old food. The women's bathroom makes you want to barf. The staff sits up front and plays on their phones, completely ignores people walking in. I am glad I canceled my membership.

I've been a member for nearly 9 years. So far the gym is great especially how it's close to where I live. The reason I'm giving it a 3 stars is because there are some problems like some machines breaking down, the bathroom being a mess and just recently one guy was hogging 2 machines. I wanted to use one but the guy told me he was still using it while he's using the other machine.

1. They charge a $15 fee if your primary payment method doesn't go through EVEN IF YOUR SECOND PAYMENT OPTION DOES GO THROUGH - That's over twice as high as Verizon and 150% of the monthly membership fee. Can you say "shady?" - minus 1 star
2. They show the Food Network but can't change it to NBC for the SF Giants game. People like me are there trying to lose weight and we have to look at this really good, unhealthy food being cooked and eaten and we can't watch a local sports team. Does that sound like good customer service to you? - minus 1 star

So after a year and a half of going to the gym and only using the tanning services, I finally worked out on the gym equipment last night. I love that black card members can bring a guest for free. My bf came with me and we were there about 30 min around 7pm. I don't know if other PFs are similar but the spa area and locker rooms are super clean. However, the gym itself was packed, water bottles were empty and abandoned on machines,a bag of used Taco Bell sat at the feet of a chest press, and the 30 minute express workout room seems to serve as overflow for members who just want to sit on a single machine and take up space. Pretty much all the reasons I don't like gyms. I'll give it another shot but probably at another location. Staff here is always helpful and friendly though and the hydromassage at the end was clutch.

I was excited to join Planet Fitness last month and wanted Walnut Creek to be my home club. Somehow during sign up, I ended up with Concord which should’ve been an easy fix, right? Wrong. I’ve been in transfer hell ever since and learned that the manager at Concord is notorious for ignoring these requests. Multiple phone calls, multiple visits and each time I’m told the manager is not there, called in sick, or is on vacation. I tried to get Walnut Creek to intervene for me and they said since Concord is a franchise location and they are a corporate one it has to come from Concord. It really shouldn’t be that hard but they made it so difficult I decided to cancel my membership before my fitness journey couldn’t even get underway with them. To add insult to injury, they want to charge me a cancellation fee. Avoid this location like the plague as it’s grossly mismanaged.

As a dedicated Planet Fitness member and traveller, I enjoy being able to experience PF in different North American cities when I travel.
In Concord California PF my only complaint is that the 30 min fitness room was difficult to use as there
were at least three men sitting on machines and not moving. Management need to ensure that the 30min express workput area is used by clients who are there for that purpose.
Friendly and helpful staff at the front desk, however, " Welcome to PF on arrival and have a good day" as you leave would provide a more positive impression.

Very dangerous and filthy gym. The showers are overrun with bacteria, I saw the employees cleaning the shower floors with the same mop they used for the ENTIRE locker room. I had two men taking photos of me on the squat machine, when I told the employees what they were doing they told me just to wait for the men to leave to continue my workout. My car was vandalized in the parking lot AND my wallet was just stolen from the locker room. As a black card member I'm considering getting a refund and taking my business elsewhere.

Used to work out at this location until I discovered the awesome PF at the Walnut Creek location. This location has dust everywhere, dumbbells everywhere but on the dumbbell rack and dirty machines. No signs of employees cleaning, dusting, enforcing PF rules or putting dumbbells back on the rack that lazy people are too good to do on their own accord. This place has a lot of potential and should collaborate with other PF locations to get it to be a place everyone can go to enjoy their workouts.

I really tried to like this gym. I belonged to it for a year and a half or more. Sadly: of the total number of news networks the gym plays, Fox News is on the majority of the news screens, there's always a couple of meat heads grunting and slamming weights and no one says anything, and the real deal breaker for me is the shopping center itself where this PF is located - there's always a couple sets of meth-y folks living in beat up & broken down looking cars/vans in the meth-y parking lot. I've seen a car get broken into in the parking lot and there's definitely a bad meth/drug vibe in parking lot. I am from NYC, I have a decent street sense, and my gut tells me that in this parking lot it's only a matter of time before something bad happens to you or your car.

Tuesday night between 9-10. The place was PACKED. I hit the cardio, then headed to the men's locker room for a shower. The place was a total pig stye. Listen, I understand that locker rooms in a busy club are going to get heavy use. But a busy club means that they sell a lot of memberships and therefore collect a lot of dues. Meaning there are plenty of revenues to offset the expense of better maintenance. The place looking like the s-hole that it did is purely an indication of a lazy, tight wad owner who lacks member-centric priorities. Clean the damn place up!

Why do I have to do your job for you.
For months your Concord location has left the shower curtains folded in half. This is causing a smell to come from the folded in half shower curtain due to the bacteria growth.
Not to mention the feeling of lack of privacy because the shower curtains don't reach to each end of the wall. You can close yourself off, you're left with this feeling that someone is still watching.
It is simple, you just install the curtains like normally as you would at home.
If this is not fixed soon I will be canceling my membership and require a refund for the past 2 months. I don't appreciate being ignored when I'm a paying customer of your faculties.

I think this place has air co dition which is good cause my other gym doesn't. Good variety in gym equipment and machines, and feels nice and open. Two things I don't like however are the fact that the dumbbells jump by larger increments of weight. They jump by 5 pounds, while at my other gym, the dumbbells jump by incremembts of 2.5 pounds which makes it not only easier to pregress, but its also safer. Also, they only have one leg press machine which I'm kind of shocked about given the fact that so many people use the leg press machine. Bathrooms are very nice and clean, and lots of showers and lockers available. Overall I thinks it's a very nice gym.

On Monday June 6 at 9 pm I was working out with two girl friends and was harassed by this man who proceeded to threaten us for no reason and got into a 14 year olds face. He went around harassing girls who were alone with no male. I went up to the front desk and informed them and they told us that they didn’t feel like calling the cops. It was a female and male working. The employees refused to remove him from the gym and tried to blame another girl for supposedly provoking him when everyone was minding their business. I didn’t tell the employees to kick him out himself I told them if they can tell the cops to have him removed but the male said no he just wants to clock out that our safety is basically not important. The male even tried to blame us females even though we were walking away and the guy kept harassing us no matter where we went. We go to the gym to work out and as a female we should feel safe. It’s sad to see that the group of women who were harassed had to come together to protect each other while the employees told us to leave and left the guy in the gym not telling him anything. Do better.

I came into this gym today and noticed that a worker was cleaning the restroom. I went into the dressing room to change for my workout. Upon leaving the handicap dressing room, I noticed she did not clean the showers. When I saw her by the desk, I asked her if she was going to clean the showers. She claims she thought I was going to use it. I told her after my workout. So I asked if she could please clean the shower, and she smiled as if the job was going to get done. But of course, it didn't. This is the way handicap women get treated at this gym. I told her the shower had hair in it, so can you please clean it. Well, this is the end result. Just got a membership here and the very next Monday they're closed no sign on the door except for 24/7. I don't have very many days to go work out what a waste of time, you can bet I'll be asking for a refund

I just have to say that Aaron and Tony are the best workers in the entire gym. They always make sure everyone is safe and comfortable when working out. Definitely bringing friends with me next time.

Amazingly clean gym. Huge. Lots of space for equipment and very clean. Staff on hand was friendly and knowledgeable. They have everything you need in my opinion. Free weights, machines, balls, ropes, pull-up bars, dip bars, and massage chairs. Plus more. Thank you so much
