This location never has hot water for showering. I've come here in the morning five times, and there's no hot water. It's crazy! So the employee says, "Let it run for 10 minutes." Who has time for 10 minutes of running water for that long for a shower?

I always like coming here and I never have any issues but in this case I don’t want to discriminate anybody but there is this one guy who is maybe Middle Eastern with a turban and he has a strong smell and smells HORRENDOUSLY BAD I can’t really take it and want to leave just because I can smell in from like 10 feet away and I feel like they should imply that people need to keep in mind about their personal hygiene and come in not smelling as bad as he does I don’t want to complain but people around me are starting to say the same.

It was the first time that invited a guest sin e i was a member at 2021 and this location (peck road planet fitness el monte california) on 9/14/2025 @12noon because my minor son wants to see the facilities convincing him to join as a member so he can start working out but this lady at the front desk is so rude that she even dont want my minor sor to use a restroom she even told me go to nearby establishment and use their restroom while in fact i can see others bringing their babies to change diapers right in front of our face.. she is so rude she even ignoring us what to do so i can let my son see the gym. Im so frustrated of how she treat us at this location and she seem like discriminating us because we’re asian. I might stop my membership and the rest of my family and friends which i have convinced to enroll at planet fitness for years. What a shame!

Plenty of parking, but the place needs repairs. The fact that every towel hook next to the shower have been ripped out of the wall and not been replaced... am I supposed to set my towel on the floor? For the attention of Planet Fitness management to take action against the staff because they have no respect for loyal customers,,,,,,,,I am Hariton Zatreanu and I've been a client at Planet Fitness for a few years and I've had an account here since the beginning (black card) and I've never had any problems with the staff but for a few days a girl who works here I don't know what's up with me and when I come to the gym I forget to take my cell phone with me and because she's messing me up during training and I told her I'd give her my phone number to see that I have an account to log in and I also have a picture of me in the system and she didn't want to profit from that as I understood from the staff manager named Britanny) I gave up being a client at Planet Fitness El Monte. Unfortunately due to the disrespect of this girl for me named Brittany because I really liked it here I gave up so I still have until January 16th and of course I understood that I would go to another gym different from Planet Fitness.

My car got broken into when I was at the gym parking lot from 4:50-5:45 PM on Sunday. The sun wasn’t even set yet. My concealed gym bag was stolen along with my wallet with all the essential document and house keys. There is no security camera in the parking area. Police report was filed. Now I have to take a day off from work to apply all my essential documents at DMV.

Machine qualities are extremely bad with very limited movements, primarily on the stretching end. Some machines doesn't even work. Only one peck fly machine in entire gym. No single hand tricep bar in this gym. This is definitely not the gym if you are serious about your training, this gym in all honesty is more like a fun-fit type. I guess, this would be my go to cardio only gym.

I’m writing to express how upset I am about the terrible experience my mom and I had at the Planet Fitness on Peck Rd in El Monte. We were treated so rudely by one of your employees, Jasmine. She was demanding my mom’s ID in an incredibly disrespectful way, making fun of us, and wasting our time at the front desk for way longer than necessary. I’ve been to many Planet Fitness locations in LA and the Bay Area, and I’ve never been treated like this before. Her behavior was completely unprofessional, and to be honest, she’s the worst employee I’ve ever dealt with. I’m seriously frustrated by how we were treated, and it left a really bad impression of this gym. I expect way better from a place like Planet Fitness. You guys need to address this because no one should be treated like that when they come to work out.

Lots of broken equipment yet again! The same ones always keep braking, and they don't replace it with a new one. Even worse the summer program for teens makes it worse by overcrowding and now it's impossible to workout. As of 6/22/24, most of the equipment for legs are down and I have to go to another gym and get lucky to even use their equipment

It was a good experience but I give it a three star gym. Due to inconvience, there is not enough machines to build muscles; missing the adductor machine, and probably more but I forgot the names. The cleaning is hard to do because I have to make multiple trips back and forward to clean the machines due to the bottles, they should install wipes. I dislike the payment method because it’s sketchy, like why do you need my account number and info on the bank? How come you can charge on the card instead, makes me feel unsafe. Besides that the people were nice and the experience was good.

This has been my home gym for the past year but I have noticed as well as other patrons that care for the equipment has drastically declined. Very important equipment has been unavailable for more than a month while membership crowds the place at peak hours. Almost impossible to work out. Broken equipment is not been promptly fixed. This used to be the best option in the metro area and it has clearly and fastly declined.

I don't blame the staff for all this but the regulars at this gym treat the place very poorly... For most people they pay $10 a month ... If you'd like to pay much more it still wouldn't be enough to pay people to clean up after you ... Your $10 a month even $25 a month like I pay for a black card still does not cover being filthy and disgusting and thinking someone should have to clean up after you .... The least you can do is not make a mess or pickup after yourself ... The employees are there to give a quick wipe , sweep and mop not pickup a bunch of garbage and toilet paper and wrappers and used qtips etc .... My only complaint directed to the gym is the only thing I do at planet fitness is shower , I exercise elsewhere.... Last night was cold windy and raining and I got naked and took an ice cold windy shower... Something is wrong with the water heater .. it was 3 am and hardly a soul at the gym so I should have had unlimited hot water so the hot water heater isn't working properly

7/23/23 update: This gym got new equip which is nice, but they got rid of the Cybex machines which I used for cardio. I don’t get why they didn’t at least keep a few.

Aside from the the new equip the men’s locker room is in shambles. Only one shower works. The rest have no water pressure which had been a problem here for years now. Another shower hand no handle or shower head.

This is the second worst location to have been to next to DTLA. I talked to the front desk about the showers and they said there is nothing they can do about it and o should voice my concerns here. So here I am.

First review: Another PF location where people seem to hoard the free weights. Just seen several guys all with 2 to 4 different sets, with no intent of sharing because it seems their workout is more important than everyone else’s.

It’s very clear that PF needs signage that’s says “Please do not take more than one set of free weights at a time.”

This also has to be one one the worst location in regard to size vs the population that uses it.

The pix I posted includes the free weights I was looking for. They were sitting by the smiths. Unused. Staff should be making rounds for these things regularly.

Enjoyed massage chair before working out until the they changed policy.Make an appointment to use massage chair on computer every five minutes only to use chair five minutes and make another appointment. I’ve come to this place for a couple months now. I never noticed how outdated the equipment was until I went to the PF in Rowland Heights. There’s a lot of machines that we don’t have. Some of our equipment is not balanced (for example, the shoulder press in the 30 min circuit) and can cause injury. Most people wouldn’t notice, but if you are trying to lift heavy, you’ll start to feel that one side is slightly higher than the other. There also always at least 5 machine that are not function properly or completely broken. Overall, most of the equipment is okay. I do see that the staff cleans (just sometimes the restrooms need a little maintenance). I feel for them cause our place just seems a little run down, nothing the regular staff can do about that. The roof leaks during heavy rain. Pretty common equipment like a rowing machine is not available there. I feel like someone needs to advocate for better equipment there, just because we’re in the ghetto doesn’t mean we have to be ghetto.
