WATER QUALITY WARINING:
Went to this gym a few days ago and when I got home I felt nauseated after drinking the water from the filter dispenser, then later on I ended up feeling lethargic and nauseated. never before have I had this experience beforehand. But please be careful with the water quality with the planet fitness gym locations around the Escondido area. I’m not even sure that these places care if they check their water filters. This location need to take better precautions and accountability for their water quality and safety.

Let's see , where do I start.. This gym is one of my favorite locations.. Not the biggest in town, but the best kept.. Machines are always in great condition, bathrooms are well maintained, and off peak hours , you almost feel like you have the gym all to yourself.. Kailey the GM is absolutely 💯 the best at making you feel welcome.. She is no slouch either as she can be seen on the gym floor vacuuming and wiping down machines..
And the pricing is superior to any chain around period!!

This location was my first planet fitness gym and I loved it here. I moved away from Escondido and this location is just far from me now but I used to live super close by and everyone is always super friendly at check in. They're always constantly cleaning and restocking the paper towels and disinfectant for the equipment. I got a new membership at another gym that was more expensive and let me tell you, it was dirty, overly crowded, rusted machines, and over all not a great place to workout in. The price was double what I was paying at planet fitness. I highly recommend planet fitness and it's not a bad gym as everyone makes it out to be. It has "basic" machines but honestly it's all I need and they're constantly adding new machines at the newer locations as well.

The only con I will say is the summer program they do for the teens. During this time, the gym gets crowded with teens that don't always workout and is taking pictures and/or on the phone hogging machines. They get dropped off by a parent with no supervision and comes in groups usually.

I've restarted my planet fitness membership and is attending the newer locations close to where I live now and I have no interest in switching gyms again!

I had a negative impression of planet fitness as a chain from what I saw on social
Media. However, I truly love this place! It’s super clean and I can always get a treadmill even at peak hours. The staff are friendly and helpful. At other chain gyms there’s a lot of annoying upselling for personal training, upgrades etc and it’s always with young college aged guys that don’t seem to handle no for an answer very well. You get none of that here. Also, the gym go-ers are generally all considerate and keep to themselves, so I feel comfortable doing what I want without any sense of judgement. The hydro massage is an added perk, and in this economy it amazes me that a $25/month membership gets you a place this well taken care of.

I love this place, the environment is great for working out, really clean and the music is usually on point. Overall, it’s a great experience. However, the staff can really be a downside. One of the Black employees gave me a hard time when I told him I had already applied to change my location into this one, but it takes a few days to process. He had a lot of attitude and still wouldn’t let me in, even though other employees eventually did. It was really disappointing and made me feel unwelcome.

I love the environment of this gym inside and out. It is in a much better location than the other one in town. Clean and friendly staff. I just want it to be 24 hour. Sometimes this location gets so busy it’s hard to get on/ use the machine you want, maybe because everyone is trying to get in before they close for the day 😩.

This particular planet fitness sucks this is my usual gym this place is constantly understaffed and the staff they do have mostly has a pretty bad attitude about customer service the management of the location doesn't care about the customer I had to complain a couple times now and I just won't go back there anymore I don't think... Update you can see how bad this places is the posted a response thanking me for my good review. When I gave them 1 star and complained about how bad they are... UPDATE Okay so here we are probably a year after this incident originally happened and we're back to this company doing the same thing to their customers when I go to the gym sometimes I go early I go 6:00 7:00 in the morning typically speaking because this company is cheap and refuses to outsource the cleaning of their gym there is never anyone at the front counter I have spoke to a manager about this in the past I believe it was the district manager about a year ago and he gave me the code to start the hydro lounge machine and told me if there was not an employee at the desk to go ahead and do it myself here I have another employee telling me that I'm not allowed to do that and I just have to stand at the front counter for 15 or 20 minutes until somebody comes back up there to worry about customer service this is a horrible horrible gym and this is a horrible company... Spend your money anywhere else

What's the point of a QR scanner if I have to fill out a checkin? It would be one thing if it was just my name and home location but you have me fill out an email and reason for visit?? You want my social security card number and where I see myself in 5 years too? Congrats on being annoying AT THE DOOR.
As a bonus the bathrooms are FILTHY (at least in the women's section) there is always hair in the showers and in the changing stalls frequently have smeared "fluids" which when brought to staffs attention is met with an okay and nothing else. Sat in the locker room for half an hour to see if someone would come after reported and no one came. The only thing of interest at this location is the cryotherapy bed for black card members and that's just okay.

Planet Fitness is great for a no-frills, clean and friendly gym with a lot of equipment. The staff are always cleaning and watching for check-ins, keeping the gym dust and clutter and garbage free. The equipment is user-friendly and varied enough to complete a work-out without waiting for machines, unless you are there in the busiest times. Planet Fitness is an excellent gym! It’s in a convenient location with a large free parking lot, making it easy to access. UPDATE. Just a small suggestion. It would be nice if the scanner when you check in was just sitting on the counter so you could just swipe and go. It's a little awkward and cumbersome when someone holds it and tries to scan your phone. That's just me... 🙂

Other than that, I've been here for a while now and the place is great!

Just started here, but the people at the front are very helpful and friendly! There are a ton of machines ready to go. The tanning and massage chairs are a bonus that I definitely use! The place is very clean and welcoming!

The only thing I would say is it would be nice if people didn't sit on their phones while other are waiting for machines, but I guess this is just the way it is... The rest is GREAT!

Best of in the country. Cleanest I have seen, hot water, great water pressure. Equipment especially in the 30 minute express workout room was very clearly implemented with knowledge and thought I like many I have seen. Equipment in good working order. Kindest and most helpful staff I have encountered. Has lockers with built in locks. Showers have doors. Would like to see benches and hair dryers in the locker room. Would this owner please open a location off i-15 near Scripps, Miramar or Murphy Canyon please. Also, for stretching and groundwork I would prefer the hard mats that are more easily cleaned.

I highly prioritize exceptional customer service, and I always appreciate the warm welcome from the tall blonde woman at the front desk. However, my recent experience during check-in with the smaller hispanic guy left much to be desired. His lack of friendliness and acknowledgment was disappointing. Similarly, on a previous visit, the Hispanic lady’s negative expression upon my arrival was off-putting. Despite my efforts to maintain positive interactions, these experiences make me hesitant to continue patronizing this location. I’m contemplating transferring to another PF branch.

From the time we tried out this facility with day passes the whole experience has been dope. I have been a regular at many many gyms since the mid-90's and this one location tops my list. It isn't just about the amenities, or the equipment ... its the staff. They set the tone of the facility - and the members attitudes reflect that. I have to highlight the AM crew - Izzy! She's on point! Always a smile and a greeting when you walk in, always helpful and a pleasure to speak with - treatment thats been lost at many other gyms. Keep that same energy, PF!

Planet Fitness’ monthly plans are the lowest cost and best deal around. Also, their HOURS are much better then Chuze and other cheap no-contract gyms. I updated my PF Plan from $10/month to $25/month; now I can bring a buddy with me Every Time I Go and we both get to enjoy all of the membership benefits, they have a free personal trainer with a weekly schedule/classes, plus I can go to ANY PF in the world (I’m pretty sure). Finally, the PF I go too is open 24 HOURS Mon-Thur and is open late on the weekends. Wow!

All my years of working out. I have never been in a superset gym. People walking away with dumbbells, easy curl bars..to work in all corners of the gym.. using additional equipment..(Smith machine) there is no accountability ounce you show membership at front desk. I have talked with front desk (who are great) but nothing happens...Signs...No phones...wipe down equipment...Corporate policy...WEIGHTS STAY IN DESIGNATED AREA...What a concept! I go to PF to augment my PT exercises and I get in and get out. The vibe is relaxed and it's rarely crowded when I go in evenings. I'm older and the crowd is mixed, but mostly younger. There's no issue and everyone on the machines is doing their own thing. The machines are excellent and offer symmetric workouts which is what I need for PT augmentation. These machines aren't Spin Zone machines, but close to it... for my needs and a one club membership, I am getting a lot of value.

This is a newer planet fitness and has nice new gym equipment. It's always clean and the staff is very friendly. I always get a hello and goodbye from one of the staff. If you can go in the early afternoon you basically have the whole gym to yourself. After 6pm and it can get pretty busy but I am able to use the equipment I want, just might have to wait a little for it. Overall it's super nice and love going.

A family member that recently upgraded her membership was denied entry this morning by a team member. She refused to help her and instead gossipped with a co worker. Unfortunately it took for me to call the gym to remedy the situation. My family member has a language barrier but has never had an experience like this at Planet Fitness. We hope management can deal with the situation swiftly. I will update the review after they reach out to me.

First off, this gym is the cheapest, so the most affordable compared to LA Fitness, Chuze Fitness, and 24 Hour Fitness. Second, I went to all these gyms in person after researching online, and this gym had the most welcoming employee to greet me and answer all my questions. Will, the employee working at the desk, was super kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I did not feel like he was trying to persuade me into anything, and he felt so genuinely honest. Truthfully, besides the good prices here, Will just being honest and kind was the real factor that sold me on getting a membership here! I was so nervous to come into gyms and ask questions, but now I feel a little more confident stepping foot inside.

Best planet fitness in North county (that I've been to) if you come early finding a machine is easy. But if you come when it's busy we'll like most gyms you may have to time the machines you use. Locations really clean and easily accessible right off the freeway 15. In a nice shopping area. Machines are clean and rarely find a broken treadmill. Haven't run into any macho attitudes here which is nice for newcomers.

Everything is great about this place the staff generally they are very kind all the equipment or new the only problem that this gym has it is way too cold the train for the serious training but if you want to hang out in an air-conditioned area and you're like the cold air it's probably wonderful for you but as for me I would not be joining at that gym just because of the temperature otherwise it's a nice place and as every gym there's always something negative but I'm glad there is more positive about the gym so give it a try you might like the cool air I'll guarantee you your cold water will not get warm👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hydro massage available Only in sitting position not lay down position. Owner made sure nobody relax more than they should. Well guess what? Members won't stay around too long either. Because They get better offers.

I asked the receptionist before “where is your jump rope “and he told me “every member can bring his own “ and when I brought mine and while i was working out he told me “you can’t use it inside the gym you can go outside (in the street) and then come back inside” anyways I respected whatever he said and I canceled my membership…. And they wrote the reason of cancellation is policy violation 🙄 what a dumb thing. It’s the worst. Planet fitness “ you don’t belong “

Very nice and Clean gym and restroom. All new equipment well maintained. The 4 stars is for the showers. Couple of the showers I saw the water wasn’t draining well. I used the one that was unused and it drained well but the temperature of the water fluctuated all the time. My husband said the same about the mens shower not draining well.

Lighten up man! We've been locked down for 12+ months. I attended chuze fitness routinely out in their parking lot for 3 months in freezing cold morning temps this winter. Your mask mandate and oligarchy routine of having the manager walk around and remind everyone to get their mask above their nose, especially when I'm on the elliptical sprinting is not cool 🤬 To each their own. Yes, you have to be safe, but strict and enforceful with threats to be ousted, no. I'll keep headed back to the east side PF location & Chuze & LA Fitness (yes, I have 3) where I'm closing it down now with "illegal" racquetball, but at least they're not walking around busting everyone reminding them to mask up their noses! 😷

Happy the gym is open. Gym is clean and well staffed. They clean every 20 minutes. Black Card is 22.99 which includes access to their wonderful Black Card Spa. Love that they enforce the mask policy. Management and Staff are amazing. Very kind, knowledgeable and willing to help at all times.
