Been going to this gym for 3 years now. I don’t workout as my work demands a lot of physical activity but i use the gym as my little self care spa. I always feel comfortable showering there as it’s always soooo clean! Water is nice and scolding hot, tiles are clean, floor is always shining and never wet. I’ve come in at all sorts of times and they clean routinely throughout the day. I adore the staff and management. I know it’s a job but these people seem genuine. I love their tanning options, the stand up hybrid is my go to, and I use the hydro massage chair regularly. I feel Bonita after a trip to Planet Fitness.

So, this rating is solely based off my interaction this morning.

They have truly been a five star business for the past 18 months that I have been there… Staff is always friendly and welcoming, the gym is always clean, and clientele has always been respectful and putting away the weights and cleaning up after themselves.

This morning, I called to staff’s attention that someone was on the gym floor working out and open toed sandals.

I saw that they confronted them, but the person continued working out.

I asked staff afterwards and they stated the person claimed they were from Wisconsin and that each member is given three strikes, which is annotated on their account in the computer system.

Just a little frustrating when most of us try to do the right thing and take pride in the businesses that we choose to do business with. The hard part with anyone’s job. Is that small percentage of time when you actually have to do your job and to enforce the rules.

I’ll continue to enjoy the gym, as I travel and use this business in other states but wanted to flag for everyone’s awareness.

Im a fitness lover and I travel for work so i have been to many of the western states locations. This is one of the best planet fitness locations in the state and country. These planet fitnesses are an example of the community it serves. Your belongings are safe here, your car is safe, and the staff is excellent, and i send my compliments to the management. The Folsom location is super clean, entirely well maintained, plenty of space, and the spa is clean spacious and has the best equipment. Especially the tanning and red light machines. They have the hybrid red light tanning bed! Which is a badass deal. I go here specifically for that therapy. Its a little secret but i couldn't keep it. This is one of the few or only 5 star locations. I rarely give 5 stars.
I wish all planet fitnesses were half as good.

I viewed this place as 5 stars and 5 stars only for one reason and one reason only. Derek!! I’ve been to gym all over the country and he is by far one of the best attendees there is. Is kind, patient, polite, helpful and super informative. Not to mention you can tell he actually works out. Not sure why PF doesn’t have him running that place. Anyways sending love from Miami. Oh and thank for the explanation of the mediation pond will be using and that hydromessage was fantastic.

Very clean gym. . Free weight area always full. Only one area of free weights. Lacking variety of resistance machines. Everything is always full. Most planet fatnesses have undergone a major upgrade in every aspect of their gym. But i feel This one stopped half way.

I visited this PF twice in December. This place must be brand new. The cardio equipment here is newer and nicer than my home club in NJ, the locker room and water fountain is immaculate and well maintained. I hope my home gym gets a makeover exactly the way this club is designed but if not looking forward to going back.

Employee at the cashier was very rude and refused to sell me muscle milk, would not recommend. I am a minor and they allowed me inside for free with the high school summer pass just to show 18+ unsuitable for minors content on the TVs. This us frankly disgusting behavior. Nudity should not be allowed in a business that beckons young children inside their establishments.

I have been a member of Planet Fitness for about three years; a year ago, I moved to the Folsom area and joined this location. I liked it a lot since it was a new location. It was less crowded than my previous experiences; the equipment was clean and new. I liked it so much that I even convinced some friends to join. However, I am compelled to share a recent experience that has been quite disappointing. During my visit today, July 11th, 2024, around 10:00 am, I interacted with the manager, which left me quite upset. The manager approached me in an insulting way regarding the phone policy. I want to mention that I've been working out with a personal trainer through FaceTime for the past six months; I'm very aware of other people's privacy and to highlight, I'm not filming, and I'm also very aware of my surroundings to don't bother other members. As I was working out, she approached me and said that according to the gym policy, all phone calls must be at the lobby. I explained to her that more than a phone call, it was my way of working out with a personal trainer; she proceeded to say that no personal trainers outside of the gym are allowed, which didn't make any sense to me because I'm paying a monthly fee to access the equipment. I'm free to use any source to do my workouts; I said, OK, I might have to cancel my membership because if I'm not allowed to do this, I can't workout at this gym, and proceeded to turn off my phone and returned to my workout; less than a minute she came back and said that I had to leave because I wasn't following the "only phone calls at the lobby policy" I wasn't on a facetime call anymore, I wish the owner of this location can take a closer look to the staff and how the approach/ interact with their costumers. Overall, I consider everyone very friendly/ helpful, except this woman. As someone who values customer service, I found this behavior unprofessional and disheartening. I believe that a positive and respectful attitude from staff is essential for a welcoming gym environment. I canceled my membership immediately and will be charged for another month, but I don't want to return to this location again.

I’ve been going to this gym since it opened. I like how clean it is and how new the equipment is. My complaints are two things, when I switched from black membership to classic, it immediately changed me, even though I had just paid for a whole month of black 2 days prior. My second complaint is it’s consistently hot in here, doesn’t matter how many people or what time of day, and I don’t feel this way about other PF locations. It’s frustrating when you’re working out and it’s too hot, I’d rather pay more if it meant better AC.

Anyways I knew she would post something like she would prolly post a video - typical. Why can’t she go to the gym, workout and go home? I’ve been a member since I think 2014/2015 and this was the first issue. This lady thought she was going to hold one machine without having anything to hold it then tell me she’s holding it 🤣 she could have used the same machine behind me to.

This is a great gym! I only use the treamills and the weight lifting equipment and I've never had an issue. Everything always seems clean and well maintained. Same goes for the restrooms. Its one of the nicest Planet Fitness branches around Sacramento 👌

First time at the Folsom location. I guess I was expecting a little more because it's Folsom. But at 5:30 am, there were plenty of bodies there for their morning workout. My son and I used the Circuit Training area and it was great. The bathrooms, showers & locker rooms were very clean, I noticed that people were very courteous by wiping down the machine after using it for more than 5 minutes. Pretty cool. Some of the TV screens were out, but that's fine.

I had never had a problem with this gym until today. I was minding my business doing my workout when I had to go get a bar and a completely rude person came and started using the machine I was using with my items near by it. No worries at all as I approach this person and told them politely that I was using that machine ( there was literally an exactly same machine right in front of it not being used by anyone but he had to use the one I was on.) This person started to argue with me telling me rude things like that I was so entitled to tell him that I was using the machine, that I must be paying much more than everyone else to tell him that I was using that machine, and much more. It escalated quickly as other members got involved because everyone saw it and supported me. I really appreciate everyone that asked me if I was ok and to ignore him. I am writing this review full of frustration because nothing happened to this crazy person. All I heard was: I am sorry you had to go through this, as if it would change anything at that point. I’ve been going to planet fitness for 2-3 years and never had a problem like that before, but to see that they value having a member that has no manners to live in society and literally disrespects other members for no big reason at all is completely unacceptable. Nothing was made about it by planet fitness, I guess I was just supposed to forget how awful of an experience I had to go through and pray to not have to see that person again. After experiencing this, I no longer want to go back to any planet fitness gyms. I really hope that this guy does not have the opportunity to harass anyone else because no one deserves to deal with a person like him.

Every Planet Fitness is a little different to a lot different from the others. Layouts are different, showers locker rooms equipment staff attitudes and cleanliness are all different. One thing is common, when walking to or from the locker rooms, the path is always the hard service, not the same as where the equipment sets. When leaving follow the hard surface out. The locations of the Mens and Womens is different in every location.
I have to give the Cleanliness Award to East Bidwell location in Folsom! It is very important to me, and to the staff here as well and it shows. Lots of reviews mention it but can we just all agree who holds the GOAT Award? It's here!

I really like this place. I’ve been going here for a few months and I’m really happy. The staff is attentive and friendly. Management is quick to solve a problem and even took the time to learn my name, as she greeds me in. I love their tanning options. The hybrid is my favorite. This is probably the cleanest gym I've used and the staff is always great. I think I see someone cleaning somewhere in the gym at every time of the day I've been there, even at 3 and 4 in the morning. The locker room is always clean also. I only did 4 stars because I wish there were heavier weights and a dry sauna but I realize this is not the fault of this gym in particular. Thanks PF folsom

This is by far the cleanest gym I've ever been to! Being in the fitness space for over 30 years I've been around, including the higher end luxury facilities, and the team here at Planet Fitness in Folsom are the most consistent and pleasant people I've seen at a gym. The female manager with the glasses seems very friendly with her coworkers and the gym members. She actually takes the time to greet people and help keep the place clean. I don't know if it's like that at all locations but it is spot on here. My only complaint is their dumbbells end at 75 lbs but I can work around that for the most part. Great functional area, plenty of smith machines and full rack of dumbbells below 75 lbs. I would also recommend adding an additional leg press machine since they only have one. Other than that it is a great gym and I've slowly become fond of it and cancelled other memberships. It's definitely grown on me because previous I thought it was just a gym for people who weren't serious about workouts. If you live here in Folsom area definitely check it out but then again not too many people because don't want to get it too crowded!
