New Gym equipment (finally!)
After more than a year of broken promises, the run around, and waiting for gym equipment to be fixed or replaced it finally happened. Almost all new machines have arrived. It was desperately needed.

Bikes are still broke :/
5 tall bikes and only 1 currently works today. Some rattle, some of the foot straps don’t work, and 1 is just inoperable. But there was 1 out of the 5 that’s works so 1 Star out of 5

I emailed the planet fitness social team per “the owners” suggestion about the issues and they just told me to talk to the owner about it. Just sounds like it’s a “no one problem.”

Fortunately, I spoke to a member of staff last month about it and they assured me that the whole gym was getting a makeover with new equipment late July or even early August… it’s Mid August now (shrug)

“Temporarily Broken” signs are gone. Most of the bikes still crinkle and crackle when in use.

Broken Equipment.

Most standup bikes work poorly and clink and clank more than my grandpas arthritic knees and some bikes and other equipment are just flat out BROKE.

I get that stuff breaks down and needs time to be fixed but this has been an ongoing issue. I was originally told that Covid shut down the supply line for new parts last year but Covid was 2022, not 2024.

It's a good place to work out if you need to be careful with your money. It gives you cleaning stations to clean out the equipment so you can feel more at ease when you work out. There's lockers where you can put your stuff away. And showers to clean yourself after you work out. My only complaint is that they should put more effort into cleaning the gym more and diligently. Especially the toilets and showers. They recently put in new equipment and a couple of other changes.

I saw there was another review on here from someone who switched locations from Vineyard also. I mean, I gave the place a chance, really I did. It wasn't for me. Terrible locker room facilities, broken sinks, toilets, air dryers, etc. I came here for a tour last week and saw that it was smaller and not as much equipment, however much better cleaned and functional.
The only big drawback so far.......lots of high school kids just hanging around in groups taking up valuable space that people very serious about training, (like me), could be using instead. Good news is it's 24hrs so I'll have to figure a time school is in to avoid them. Otherwise good thus far and a big leap up from Ontario.

I travel for work all over the states, so I workout here and there each week on different cities and states. Never had this kind of problem happen for over a year and something.

If you are a trucker be aware that there are NO signs that indicate ‼️NO PARKING FOR SEMIS‼️They will tow your truck while you are working out without a warning.

Ps. “The top flight security” will tell you he doesn’t know who towed your truck making you wonder if somehow someone stole your semi.

The price went up to $15, and truthfully, it isn't worth it. Down the street is chuze Fitness for $9.99, and it is twice as size. I don't recommend anyone coming to this beat-up gym. Purple don't even wipe down the machines and the staff is always on their phone. It's just not worth it anymore.

Keep in mind you get what you pay for. The shower water pressure & temperature are terrible. Restrooms constantly run out of toilet paper & hand soap. The tanning rooms often have ants in them. The cardio equipment is old & outdated. The free weight dumbbell section is small & often crowded. My car door got scratched by another car in the parking lot. Asked if they could check the security cameras. Was told the manager would get back to me. I left my phone number & email. They never responded.

Overall my experience was decent. The gym was very clean and the machines were solid. However, my main problem was the people at the gym. I don't know if anyone else experiences this but everyone seemed to be gatekeeping machines and spending the majority of their time on their phones and talking. March 2024 (April update below, it gets better! ) Cheapest air-conditioned hangout for juveniles in the area, that comes with the membership for free.

But don't dare try to cancel. You'll get the runaround. First. they'll ask you to mail a formal letter requesting cancellation. A month will go by, you won't hear anything but you'll see a new charge. So then you'll call them and you'll speak with Elijah who's happy enough to give you a completely different set of instructions on emailing the same information this time.

When you try to explain that you followed other steps given and were worried about this request being respected, you'll get blown off.

April 2024: I'm back. And so are the recurring charges, but on a different credit card. And I'd already received an email from Andres Poblano general manager advising that he had processed the cancellation request and I would also receive refund.

Maybe he just didn't have time to tell accounting?

Not likely though. Chase had my back on this one and once again, charge is reversed.

Like I said before, nice hangout if you're a little high schooler who wants to grunt on the yellow monkey bars in the back. Otherwise, maybe if you have money to burn.

This place refused to stop charging my account. Being over 40 I decided to start building my body after devastating news from my physician, "Get busy getting healthier, or prepare for an untimely demise!" Most ppl my age are suddenly dying and to continue to live unhealthily is maximizing the negative factors of those potential odds. Needless to say, I started to utilize Planet Fitness, because post-pandemic hours for 24hr Fitness have largely been less than 24hrs. Making their membership less appealing at its monthly all-access price point. However, there was a silver lining. Planet Fitness is often referred to as Planet Fatness because they'd throw out fully fit or overly aggressive Fitness enthusiasts, in favor of those with fluffier and unconventional physiques, to work-out feeling less antagonistic and body shamed by those who'd flaunt their physical appearance shaming others who feel put off by such a display. Dubbing the establishment being in favor of fluffiness instead, and to dread the shred! I signed up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin while attending the Allen Bradley University directly in town. I'd run from my hotel and around the block to the gym.I burned as many calories over 1000 as I possibly could without passing out, and ran back, showered, and pass out for class the next day. This routine helped me sleep away from home and keep myself relatively fit in the meantime while away at school. Upon Graduation, I returned home to California near Rancho Cucamonga and looked for a local Planet Fitness to attend and continue the routine. I found it near Summit Ave and the 15fwy Northbound. I signed in and never went back a day since. Due to becoming a roving field installation engineer for the Waste Water Municipalities nationwide through Aerzen USA. I still work-out and use the gym wherever I go, it's just that now I use the hotel's gyms provided while abroad which is 90-98.999% of my schedule. When I was in Milwaukee this facility would automatically reject your membership if you held a BlackCard membership and didn't utilize the facilities on a regular. You had to sign in and also authorize your membership regularly or it would notify you, and shutdown your account and access to the club. Well, this California branch not only didn't notify you and bar your account, but they wouldn't notify you even if prices increased. It caught my attention when I was in Laurel, Kansas at National Beef a large $154 charge hit my account. To most this isn't large, but when it said Planet Fitness it seemed pretty darn large, For a gym membership I thought??? Something has to be wrong. I called them and it's pretty difficult to get customer support beyond the counter at the gym. I was told to cancel the membership from my banking establishment because there was no way to do it from their end. Eventually, I was able to get this leak blocked from my bank and disheartened by the establishment I had grown so proud to be a part of, Watch your accounts if you do decide to attend, and the best of luck in your journey to better health. Hopefully, your experience with them financially is better than mine, as your results in the gym, and life.

When I am able to drag myself out of bed to work out I love coming here. It's clean and there are plenty of machines so I have never had to wait long, but I think it would be more crowded if I went after work around 6pm. If I'm confused about how to use something I feel comfortable enough to ask, the staff is really nice. I didn't feel like I needed to get in shape before I started working out here, it has a "come as you are" vibe which I like a lot. It is also much less than I was paying for LA fitness and because I feel comfortable I actually want to go. I would recommend to anyone who just wants to get their cardio and weights in and go on about their day for a more than fair price. If you like all the spin classes and extra stuff this gym might not be enough for you.

The staff are nice, but the gym is dirty and has been for months. I visit other Planet Fitness locations and often see staff cleaning machines, floors, and mirrors. I've also seen cleaning crews. That doesn't happen at this location. Sweat stains, gum, hair, and dirt continue to build up on the machines. Huge dust balls are under certain machines in the weight area. The mirrors are dirty. It's obvious that Planet Fitness is not cleaning this location at all. Definitely time to switch gyms.

04/20: Lowered to 1 star based on owner's response, which in no way states they will address the issue. Instead, I'm asked to once again share my concerns as if they don't already know what they are.

For my job, I go to many different locations across the US, which means I go to many different Planet Fitness’s. I have to say, I’ve been coming to this one for a few weeks and it’s by far one of the dirtiest I go to. I went in yesterday and trash and people clothes (underwear) were still in the same place from the day before. It never feels like it’s being cleaned. On top of that, the treadmills are terrible and they never have any kettle bells. This place really needs to step up their game and put some effort into the place.

Love this location!! I just started working out a few mths ago and I couldn’t have started at a better place. I love coming here and feel very comfortable around the staff. The staff always seems to be in a great mood everytime. They are always smiling and will stop mid conversation amongst each other to greet every person walking thru the door. Joined since 11/26/2021; very consistent and one of the most reliable gyms in Fontana. I selected Planet Fitness over the other gyms largely because of its availability; 24hrs/7 days per week, while other gyms close at 10pm. I enjoy going this Planet Fitness as you can just workout in peace.

It’s a real nice gym. Just one thing please lubricate the machine parts most of the equipment has not been lubricated and are really stiff you put no weight and they feel like you are working with 20 lbs right from the start I’m not an expert but I’m pretty sure that’s how you can get hurt even with a signed liability form you should be held accountable for any injuries for poor lack of equipment maintenance please fix that issue before it becomes a problem thank you

Love this gym. I switched over to this gym came over from the one off vineyard. Right off the bat seen a difference. Staring with the staff, Andres made our experience way better. Very helpful since day one. Always has a great attitude. A great workout starts from the moment you walk in the gym, and he make it happen. This post came up in my husband's name but my name is Arlene Johnson. I really enjoyed going to planet fitness, but the last couple of months I have been traveling with my husband who is an over the road truck driver. Was upset to find out that when I cancelled my membership I was still going to be charged one more month because I needed to cancel a week before the took out my payment, so I'm paying for a month that won't be used, really sucks. When we're ready I don't know if we will go back to planet fitness.

I have been trying out other gyms in the area because it was a time for a change from my current place of workout (7 years there) I signed up for a day pass for Planet Fitness. The Fontana location had great reviews and I'm glad to be here checking it out. Very clean gym, clean bathrooms, all of the machines are in excellent condition. The front desk staff were helpful and welcoming and most importantly not pushy in the least bit. Not a lot of people in here which is nice and it smells good in here. I laughed at friends that went to LA Fitness or Chuze because those places close very early on weekends. Now this Planet Fitness closes at 7 pm!!!

Found out the hard way that this place went from 24/7 to partial hours on the weekends. Sucked for me showing up ready to workout and the doors were closed.

Sign says "temporary" 7 am to 7 pm hours on weekends. Hope this is true because I signed up and am I paying for a 24/7 gym.

I workout the most on weekend nights. If these new hours don't go back to normal soon (or get moved to like 10 pm) I will have to find a new 24/7 gym.

I like this gym and its employees but these new hours do not work for me. I'm sure other gym members feel the same.
