I’ve gone to Planet Fitness on and off for YEARS. And while I love the price and accessibility that PF offers, my breaking point always comes when I’m tired of not being able to do barbell exercises and compound lifts. Well that all changed when I visited the Blackstone and Dakota location. The new addition of platforms and free weights is the only thing I’ve ever wanted from a planet fitness location. I can finally deadlift, squat and bench without feeling like I have “training wheels” on. Sending a BIG Thank You to ownership and management. I don’t think I’ll ever leave Planet Fitness again. 😭😭

Overall good experience. However, they have removed machines given free memberships for the summer to teens. It has become very crowded with groups of kids sitting on or around the machines making it very difficult to use the equipment. Very frustrating. Remodeling a good idea to update new machines. However, getting rid of the 30 minute room was the reason why I chose membership to planet fitness for my gym. It was nice because it gave you more. Privacy and not having to be around a lot of people. But now they got rid of it. Dont fix what is not broken. Now I have to switch my membership from there to drive to a further gym with the 30 minute work out room until of course they phase out that one too. Bad business PF.

No creepy gym bros, no pressure — just chill people minding their business and doing their thing. Many of the gym folks are really nice and extremely helpful.. The staff is always friendly and helpful especially Fee she always makes me feel welcomed and always has a smile on her face I’m always happy to see her when I come to the gym!!! The equipment is super beginner-friendly but still solid enough for people with experience. The layout is super easy to navigate, and there’s never a shortage of machines. It's been a while since I left a review about my home gym. Planet Fitness is currently running the “Teens” promotion again, which is great to see. I came in today at 8 AM. There were two male staff members at the front desk. One has been working there for months, and the other is still fairly new.

After finishing my cardio workout, I went to the free weights area and noticed two teens wearing Crocs. I found this surprising because in the past, I was not allowed to enter the gym for wearing slippers. That same staff member pointed it out to me and enforced the policy.

I walked up to the front desk and asked if Crocs are now allowed. He told me no, they are still not allowed. I mentioned that two teens were currently wearing them, yet nothing was being done. He replied that he was busy dealing with a computer issue and said he would talk to them later.

I understand that staff can have a lot going on, but it is frustrating to see the rules enforced inconsistently. It does not feel fair to call out regular members for a dress code violation while ignoring the same issue with others, especially during a promotional period.

Overall, I still appreciate having a clean and affordable gym in the area. I just hope the staff can apply the rules more fairly and consistently for everyone, whether they are teen guests or long-time members.

This is my home gym. It is a great gym! Very spacious but management needs to step up and remove those people that use the gym as their comfort bed. I am a regular at this gym. I took this photo on October 4, 2024 at 3 AM. Almost every weekdays (Tues to Fri), I would see people sleeping at the men's locker room. They're taken up spaces. Please do something. Please do not make this gym as a home shelter.

Members should be contacting the corporate office to stop the teens program. From April to September they allow kids to use the gym for free any time of the day. During this time as a member you'll be competing for space with a bunch of kids, equipment is always broken. Safeguard your belongings always but especially during the teen program. Lockers get broken into more frequently during this time. Blackstone and Dakota are especially packed

As others have said, this pf is one of the biggest but it's downfall is it's patrons. Weights are thrown around without anyone saying anything (ending up with alot of broken machines). The smith machines are always taken, because people hog them for hours on end (I workout around 2 hours and see the same people on them the whole time). They do something like Smith machine bench press then do dumbbell curls or something on the side, or just on their phone. Idk why this is allowed when it's super busy. If there is some way we can put a limit on the smith machines, maybe 30 minutes or even 45, it could resolve alot of issues. They could even add more Smith machines. There is room to add them, as they can push the ones they have together, and have room to add 1 or 2 more.

I typically go daily and can say that it started out great but this past year it does seem like people don’t get told to leave gym bags in lockers and instead they use them to hog up machines, lots of young members (13-16)that also just go to hang with friends and hog machines(stay in one place for way to long) … the staff is decent in that they are kind but can improve on letting people know they shouldn’t be on phones in the workout area and guide them to lobby, I’ve seen many people purposely banging weights, people that just sit in the locker room area talking or just sitting typically in the way from letting me get my items to just get and go … it can be frustrating when people don’t have common courtesy and of course something’s are out of control by staff but let’s try to fix what is in our control… talking on phone in workout area for a prolonged period of time, keeping belongings in locker room, proper attire( some people go in crocks), keeping the paper towels stocked. Other than that I like this gym and hope to see improvement in the areas mentioned.

The best planet fitness I've been to so far. Not only does most of the equipment work, but they've got more weight equipment than most others, heavier dumbbells (up to 75 pounds!), but they actually have a plate loaded leg press, as well as a hack squat! I DO wish that they had more preacher curl machines, and pec deck. They have one of each, and they're extremely difficult to find free.

Pretty terrible service when it came to trying to cancel my membership. I tried to cancel it online. State of California requires there to be a one-click cancellation but their website does not have that. I received a follow-up email redirecting me to the website and the website redirects you to talk to the manager of your local gym.

The manager refused to cancel the membership unless I sent a letter by certified mail, or spoke with him in person. I was calling from the phone number listed on my account and he called me by my first name before I gave it to him.. He knew it was me but still refused to cancel it. I ended up putting in a complaint with the state of California and My bank stopped the automatic payments. I then reached out through their online portal to inform them and got an auto email direct me back to cancel online.

Save yourself some trouble canceling and just don't get the membership.

This Planet Fitness might as well be renamed, 'Planet Homeless', to the extreme point, that I actually experienced with my baby blues, that there was a bloke catching some zzzz's in a sleeping bag! What the hell?! He was scandalously snoring away, as if he were camping under the stars at Jellystone National Park outside Tombstone, Arizona! What gives, Planet Fitness? Is this a place to pump iron, train for the 2028 Summer Olympics, run like hell on the treadmills, or is this Hotel Planet Fitness? If this is the case, how about giving me a wake-up call at 5AM sharp, because I have a PowerPoint presentation at 8AM at my work? This location has some of the best employees but some who ignore you while they're on their phones. The gym is somewhat clean as long as you wipe the machines before you use them. And it's packed with highschool kids that sit on half the machines while talking to each other and playing on their phones but not really working out. The shower water smells like sewage... Or someone is taking a huge dump every time I shower. Parking is like a lottery system. And they always have one of the two hydromassage machines broken. So the only benefit is not showering with cold water and semitransparent glass doors,.. like the other 2 locations I frequent.

It had been a couple months since I had been here. A lot of the familiar faces I got so used to seeing are gone or on other shifts which is sad. I would give a higher rating if the circuit area had clearer signs or someone to come around and make sure people are using the area properly. It's very frustrating to try and use the circuit and people are just sitting back there on their phones. It makes the whole area useless. The circuit is the whole reason I come there and often am unable to use it.

This place is great! Been going here semi-consecutively since 2018 and have put on some pretty good amount of muscle mass. The fact that it's open 24/7 Mon-Fri is awesome!
