I began my weight loss journey with planet fitness in 2012. I have had no issues until I transferred to the Fullerton gym. I had to cancel today because of two late fees that the managers would not refund. They said planet fitness does not do refunds, which is a red flag. You never give customer service? Good to know. When I asked to talk to someone above the manager and the manager above her, they said there is no one else and I would not receive help.

The late fees are as much as my membership. Why??? I was robbed of $40. I am homeless. I needed that money for food, instead it went to the void.

I have a second card on the account for when the first account cannot be drawn from. They auto took the money, including late fee, then didnt alert me of said late fee. Shady.

The first time I thought it was the 40 dollar annual fee, so I didnt question it. Then another $40 dollars hit my bank account the next month. My bill is auto and it automatically took the fee, then added a late fee. That literally makes no sense. The card was on file. The money was there. The money was taken, on top of unauthorized fees.

Also, planet fitness claims that black card members can use any gym any time in america. They fail to tell you that you can only use gyms that arent your home gym 10 times, then you have to pay 5 dollars per visit.

I use many gyms. I am a personal trainer, so I have seen the way each gym works inside and out. I do not recommend Planet Fitness. They say they are the cheapest, but their fees and hidden charges made them my most expensive membership.

Planet Fitness will rob you of your money and the employees will not help make it right. I work in a gym that does late fees. We have always refunded when the reason was valid.

Planet fitness also started billing from ABC and I have never seen that before. It seems they moved to a scummy accounting business, upon further research. Potential members beware. There are so many gym options out there now that offer better facilities and customer service.

I’ve been a member at this Planet Fitness for about two months, and while I appreciate the affordable pricing and welcoming vibe, several issues have made my experience frustrating.

Cleanliness and Maintenance: The gym frequently runs out of paper towels, with dispensers only available in a few spots (e.g., corners of the gym). This disrupts workouts and makes it hard to maintain hygiene, especially when many members don’t wipe down equipment after use. This is particularly concerning for those of us with physical limitations, as unclean machines pose health and safety risks.

Gym Etiquette: There’s a noticeable lack of basic courtesy among some members. Many fail to re-rack weights or clean equipment, which creates obstacles for others, including veterans like myself with shoulder, back, and hip injuries, and other members with disabilities. Additionally, some members hover silently near machines, staring without communicating, which feels intimidating and goes against the “Judgement Free Zone” ethos.

Staff Interaction: Most troubling was an incident where the manager instructed a staff member to confront me for a simple standing quad stretch in the lobby while I waited for my bus. I often do this for my post surgery comfort wherever I am. The gym was nearly empty, and I wasn’t blocking anyone. This heavy-handed approach reflects a complete lack of leadership judgment. I hope the staff maintains a strong ethos while having to navigate through the poor leadership. The manager risks fostering a toxic atmosphere that erodes staff morale and alienates loyal members.

Suggestions for Improvement: Honestly, just read the past reviews it's already been said, just not fixed.

Fantastic Planet Fitness with way more equipment than would've ever expected a Planet Fitness to ever have. Out of the various PFs I've been to this one seems to be the most updated of them. The addition of deadlifting areas is a dream! So far, this is the first PF I've seen to actually implement the new equipment so that easily makes it the best one to go to in my opinion. hope other PFs follow in this ones footsteps and add more equipment. If that happens, can't really justify getting a gym membership at any other gym. Fantastic gym with friendly staff and clean equipment what more could you really want. :))

Been going here for the last couple months from a different location and the employees here great. You're greeted as you enter and as you leave. All of them have a positive attitude. Any gym that uses ABC FITNESS SOLUTIONS as their billing processor and software, do yourself a favor RUNNNN! and don't go to EOS down the street because they use the same preditory processor. If you're gonna join a gym ask them if they are affliated with ABC FITNESS SOLUTIONS and if they are do yourself a favor look up the reddit posts and then run away from that gym as fast as you can.

I wish the machines would connect to my watch to track my distance. The Connect app is no longer supported because the machines are so old. It's very affordable, but you don't get much. There are always maintenance issues like machines out of order, the water is out, or one light that just keeps flickering off and on driving you crazy while you run.

So I got a membership here not only for the price and equipment, but the hydro-beds and massage chairs. After I got the membership, I went twice. around 12am(after I get off work) I excercised, and went to the hydro chairs for my post-workout relaxation. Don't get me wrong, the staff are very kind and helpful, but those beds 🤢
They smelled like several bodily-sweat fluids have been marinating inside the chair itself, and the farts of their past visitors were all coinciding to make me, well, not relax. Because this was a big reason I got the membership in the first place, and because I went not just once but twice (seconds chances) and it remained, I cancelled my membership! I'll work out at home. Maybe you guys should hire a professional cleaner to get that out, I don't think a basic clean will be doing the job ever. Like I said, the staff were so kind, and the equipment and price were good, so if that's all you want from this gym excluding what I mentioned, this is for you!

I typically work out in the afternoons (~2-5 pm), and it's rarely that crowded. Always plenty of treadmills. Sometimes I have to wait for dumbbells/bench press/certain machines, but the wait is often not too bad.
Plenty of treadmills, so for cardio it's very easy for me to hop on a treadmill without any wait.

Although each gym location has the same looking equipment, their equipment does not perform the same in each gym. This gym is my favorite location because the equipment performs well. It's easy to measure my time in the gym and for the days that I workout at the gym when I can confidently set expectations with time at the gym because my machine consistently accomodates my workouts by not giving me the frustration and complications of equipment operation. This location does that.
This Fullerton location's equipment is clean and trash free, too. There are other locations in neighboring cities. I have visited them, but I won't return if I don't have to. Some of the other locations are not clean enough for me. The Fullerton location is clean with no trash, and I can count on a comfortable and confident workout at the Fullerton location.

I called to ask about membership. I spoke with a rep who's said her name was Marie (?) today at 12:30. I had seen on social media about a man shaving in a woman's bathroom and when the woman complained, they were told that it was okay that men dressed as women use the women's locker rooms. I called to find out their policy. The worker confirmed that yes, a man dressed as a woman can use the women's bathroom. I have 2 children, 11 and 13. There is no way I am going to pay a gym membership to a business that allows this.

I wish the staff would walk around every 5 minutes or so and remind members that cell phone use is only permitted in the lobby only. No one pays attention to signage. So many sit on machines and scroll/talk on their phones. Several times when I ask to use the machines I am told they "are resting between sets". Mind you, they have been sitting there for long periods. Now the management stated, when I complained, to come up front and alert the staff. So, now I have to walk clear up front and then I get dirty looks when I come back to use the machine. This company touts 'no intimidation' but what is this when treated this way?

The reasons I'm knocking stars are because 1) it recently went from 24/7 to closing at 7pm on weekends, which is pretty inconvenient, and 2) like a lot of gyms, they have way too many treadmills/ellipticals and not enough free weights or squat racks, which fill up extremely fast. It's a rather poor use of space, and therefore, I pick and choose when I go, based on the workout I plan to do - and go to the much larger, and more spacious Tustin location otherwise. A third reason is because the music is too loud. I wear earbuds to listen to my workout routine, and it can occasionally nearly get drowned out by the gym's volume level.
And a fourth reason is that the parking spaces are incredibly narrow. Not everyone cares about parking within the lines, and it's too easy for an open space to not actually be open. Or to squeeze in so tight that you can't open your door. I don't think losing two parking spaces would kill them, if each space could be re-striped a bit wider. It's pretty bad. Sometimes I walk to the gym just to avoid the narrow parking spaces.

Otherwise, it's the closest gym to my apartment, and it's conveniently right next door to Grocery Outlet.

After writing this all out, I'm actually less of a fan than I thought.

This is a decent PF branch as it’s located in a convenient area, close to the university but also not too far from the more busy area of Fullerton. Also on its way to the downtown area, pretty underrated for a walking or just a Sunday stroll for cardio on the weekdays. Most importantly though it’s only ten bucks a month for the branch only membership. Idk any other similar gym membership other than maybe crunch but it’s in a less convenient area for around the neighborhood. Now with the highlights being said, it does come with some cons. The gym do get crowded quite fast in the evening and even nighttime sometimes. It gets even more crowded in the summer with their special deal for high schoolers. As with more people, many equipments are becoming unavailable, which is understandable. Sometimes the bathroom also get dirtier while there’s a lack of staff. It’s a medium size gym overall that’s just not designed for such capacity of members. It’s still a good value all and all

This is a terrific gym with very professional staff, always always clean, not too crowded, and the black spa is accessible. If I live in Fullerton again or near, I'll definitely go here again.

But not all planet fitness gyms are equal. Rock Springs, Wyoming is also super well ran. The one in Kennewick, WA is horrible. Far too many membership sold so it is crowded, and the place is just plain dirty. Poor maintenance on the machines. That's how it goes when a place is greedy by selling too many memberships.
