I’ve had my Black card membership for a couple years now and only had issues with tanning beds being dirty when I get in and occasionally not turning on, which they usually fix with a quick call. As such, I always take the time to clean the machines myself before I get in. Being that my wedding is in 2 days, I was excited to get a tanning session in. However, when I got in the machine, it wouldn’t turn on. I called the front desk and was told that because my phone call was past the time frame I requested, the machine registered as being on and I was unable to tan again for 24 hours. I explained that the machine never actually turned on and they were welcome to come into the room to feel that the room was not warm. They mentioned how people lie and double tan, so they were unable to override the system. I further explained that the machine never actually turned on though and that I was unaware it counted my time to clean the bed, undress, and put lotion on as time in the bed. Eventually, they turned the bed back on but it was only on for 2 minutes for shutting off. They then essentially called me a liar, stating that for that to happen, the machine must’ve been overheating from prior use. Tanning beds don’t overheat after 2 minutes and it wasn’t on during the 10 minute period I was in the room. Seemed more likely that since they input the time, they only allotted me 2 minutes. After talking to the manger, I was told that there was nothing they could do, as it was all my fault for not calling sooner. They need to be able to track whether the bed actually turns on or not and not just count the minutes you’re in the room. From a loyal customer who has always recommended Planet Fitness, much less stress to pay the extra and go to a nice, clean tanning salon where your business is appreciated and you’re respected.

Extremely Disappointed with Management at Planet Fitness.
I was a former member of Planet Fitness until I was seriously injured in an accident a few years ago and couldn’t attend the gym for several months. When I returned to explain the situation, the manager, Gracy, was extremely rude and insensitive. She loudly told me—right in front of other members—that the $200+ balance was my fault for not cancelling, despite my medical situation.
Recently, I gave Planet Fitness another chance and signed up for a new membership. After attending for a week, I received a call from Gracy again, stating she was cancelling my membership due to the old balance—something I was never given a fair opportunity to discuss or resolve with compassion or understanding.
Gracy’s lack of professionalism, empathy, and de-escalation skills are unacceptable for someone in a management role. Her behavior felt personal, not professional, and left me feeling disrespected all over again. This experience was disappointing and frustrating, and I hope the owner takes these complaints seriously before more members are driven away. I ended up taking my business to a locally owned gym with much better customer service.

Gym is super clean everyone is friendly. The only thing I would suggest would be to add more of the popular equipment. I travel frequently for work and have visited many Planet Fitness locations across the West, and I have to say—this one in Hanford is among the best I’ve been to. While the gym itself is on the smaller side, the layout is well thought out, making it easy to move through workouts efficiently.

The equipment is all in great shape—clean and fully functional—which is something I always appreciate. The entire facility, including the locker rooms and showers, is very well maintained. Sure, there are some minor improvements that could be made, like floor repairs in the men’s locker room and a few bulbs that need replacing in one of the tanning booths, but overall, the cleanliness here is top-notch.

Another standout feature is the well-lit parking lot at night, which is a huge plus for anyone visiting after dark.

What really set this visit apart was the staff—everyone was friendly, but Rudy, in particular, made a lasting impression. His customer service was exceptional, and he truly made me feel welcome. His positive attitude and engagement with members show that he enjoys being there, making for one of the best interactions I’ve had with a staff member at any Planet Fitness.

I highly recommend this location to anyone in the area or passing through. Looking forward to my next visit!

I’m a truck driver so parking is always the first concern. I parked in the back of a nearby business in loading dock area and walked. There were some signs like usual but I took the risk and nobody bothered my truck. Showers were good but not a fan of the ceiling heads, the equipment was good as well. It’s unfortunate the dummies that graffiti multiple spots in the locker room and it’s in what I’m assuming is their neighborhood at their gym and making their fellow neighbor clean up after them. I will never understand that mentality, let me mess up my own stuff and make my own people clean it up. Anyways, come out of town and thanks for the workout and shower, hopefully I’ll be back

I attended PF in the past and loved the flexibility it offered and the ability to have control over my membership. (It didn't feel like other gyms with contracts and crazy fees. I was able to attend according to the life events going on at the time).

However, I recently moved to the area and decided to open a gym membership with PF again. This experience was different. I'm not sure if it was a policy change since the last time I attended or if it's just the Hanford location.
1. There is no flexibility to freeze my account. I am near the end of a pregnancy and was told I need a medical letter. Which I could get, but just seems like a hassle (and made me feel like I'm tied to a contract opposite of what is advertised)
2. There are not many payment method options or flexibility to choose an auto payment date. (This seems like a way to scam clients into paying late fees, not to mention the NSF fee their banks charge.)
Ultimately, it may feel like PF is the choice because their monthly fee seems affordable, but with all the loopholes you may end up paying more than what you expect.

Aside from that the gym was clean, and I love that PF is 24 hours Which was the main reason I chose it.

This place fell off bad. Always out of paper towels!!!! When you let the workers know that they are out they just kinda laugh and get to it whenever they feel like it. The night crew needs to be replaced. They used to be really good. Visalia and fresno are way better! Give them a shot. It's worth the drive.

I just want to say that I’ve been going to this gym for a few years now. The staff has been really helpful and professionally nice. I’ve never had an issue with any of them. Last November, when I found out they had a Trainer, I thought I’d try a class. Seven months later I’m still doing them. He always has a positive attitude and he gives you that encouragement that you can do anything. He keeps you going when you want to give up. I have multiple sclerosis and these classes are making me a little stronger, which is making me feel better about myself.

I enjoyed this location until a very rude staff member named Josefine(tall, blonde and brown hair with glasses) tried to tell me to leave because I was carrying a miniature backpack on my back which I have been for almost a year that I had my membership. She said personal belongings were not permitted due to “tripping safety hazards” unless it was a Fanny pack(which my mini backpack was similar in size) I understood and reassured her it will always be on my back as it had my personal medication I must keep handy on me for emergency. I just moved to the area with only my young children and was very disappointed that even in a healthy/ what should be safe environment I felt very violated and discriminated against. I asked for the managers Info. she then gave a card with the direct line and answered saying she’s not available.. so odd and unprofessional. Please do better planet fitness.

I was the only one using a hydro bed. I tried working out 1st. I walked on the treadmill 10 minutes realizing the warm up was not relieving the pain I was having, so I had to skip the workout and decided to use a bed. The bed was so helpful, but something made me so dizzy. Could be the pain mixed with getting some relief idk. The counter worker comes in, "Somebody needs that bed." And walks out before I could respond. 3 other beds weren't in use. Including the bed next to me. If I'm just laying there, obviously I'm not feeling well. I'm also quite a bit older, so no I don't move very fast. I also need time to sit at the edge of beds before I get up. I've been in pain for 2 days. You could have put them in the bed next to me until my dizziness went away. I'd understand if all the beds were full, but no there were 3 other beds. I can't wait until my year is up.

I'm rating based on service and price first of all they don't charge you once a month they charge you 2 times every other month which is not in the description when paying for the membership so instead of paying 25.00 a month I'm paying 50.00 every other month. For another the hanford planet fitness is ok but the people working there aren't very polite and most the time stand behind the counter talking to each other. Went in last week to try it out. The girl at the front desk was extremely nice. At the end of my workout I decided to sign up. Today I went in for the 2nd time and the front desk was extremely rude. I was denied entrance to the gym despite the fact that I’m paying for the membership. The staff member lacked communication skills and customer service abilities. For a gym that claims to be a “judgement free zone” its staff is very judgmental and rude. Do yourself a favor and join another gym. Valley Fitness is a good alternative price wise and much friendlier. I will be going in to cancel my membership. No point in paying for something if they won’t be allowing me in. I honestly want my money back considering I only went once before being denied entrance.

It’s a pretty decent gym, but the only complaint I have is when they’re cleaning. Yes, of course I love to see the gym being kept up with, but the cleaning crew comes around throughout the day no matter how busy and will start vacuuming and cleaning at and around the machine you are actively using, even bumping into you while they do it without so much as a sorry or excuse me. I feel it’s a little invasive and gets in your personal space, and it’s a little distracting. I’d appreciate it if they waited until you were done and went to the equipment that isn’t being used instead.

I couldn't tell you anything about the cardio or weight training part of the gym. Im sure its top notch, i just haven't taken advantage of that aspect of my membershipWhat i can tell you is the black membership that provides 24/7 access to deep tissue massage chairs, hydro massage chairs and hydro massage beds is something that you soon begin to wonder how you managed to live without. For less than a quarter of the price my monthly massages would cost I can get a robot or aqua rub every week, every day if I wanted. Plus you can access these at any PF across the nation. I rode my harley to Tulsa OK and back and being able to stop in a different location each day for some quick body repair was priceless. If the gym membership is this amazing without even taking the gym part of it into consideration, this one's a no brainer. I have very few monthly membership/subscriptions and this is one I won't do without. It's money well spent and in a time when everything costs more than it's worth, this is the exception and an exceptional one at that. You won't regret it.

Of all the planet fitness gyms I’ve gone to during my time in the military this one has been the worst consistency wise. They’re hours boast 24/7 aside from the time from 0200-0300 they’re supposed to be closed for cleaning. As someone with a tight schedule I appreciated knowing when the gym would be closed for deep cleaning however on several occasions this has not been the case. I’ll show up at 0300 and all the lights will be off, doors are locked and no one answers the phones. I’ve even come as late as 0400 hoping for it to be a different story but at that time while trying to use a treadmill they were not available for use outside of five with some being used due to them deep cleaning them. This is something that should be done during the 0200-0300 time period. Half of the staff seem to not even care and won’t refill the paper towel dispensers until it suits them or they decide to make rounds which leads to gym individuals to opt for not wiping down equipment instead of walking to the next dispenser that may or may not have towels in them. The only reason I still come here is for the “24/7” availability.

Best gym experience I’ve ever had! Tons of quality machines and weights even during the busiest times of the day. Everything is set up in a logistical and convenient way which makes working out a lot easier.
For someone who has tried multiple gyms in town, I can confidently say the staff is by far the most friendly and helpful. I’m really impressed with not only the Staff at PF but the members as well. It feels good not to worry about members doing their fair share. Visually, EVERYONE is constantly keeping machines clean as members show each other respect and support.

Their Black Card is a bargain for me because of the perks it comes with. Not only getting gas money back, but also the machines they offer to enhance your workouts. My favorite one is the Body Enhance Machine or the “Angel Machine”! They also have massaging machines that use a spray water system treating you to a relaxing and light massage. If you need something more then they feature “deep tissue massage” machines. PF has tanning beds as well.

PF offers a lot of different type of machines for beginners all the way to advanced athletes. They also feature small sections to offer you a better or more advanced workout, depending on your choice, and they also provide usage of equipment for HIIT workouts or weight lifting. Remember though, no grunting or yelling! Or you’ll get the light and siren 🚨 on ya! (It’s real.)

Overall, I enjoy gyms with the energy and positive atmosphere they offer here at Planet Fitness, from staff to members.

The Hanford location is always clean, the staff is friendly, the members are respectful, and the machines are in good repair. I was a member before covid and just started going back and I see no change in how well the place operates, even with the new covid precautions. Unless you want to work out between 2am and 3am when they are closed for deep cleaning, there's never a shortage of machines.

New GM supposedly…Do not like that they don’t let you take your bag, no matter how small it is, around with you in the gym. Don’t let me take a big water bottle because supposedly someone spilled water. Even though that can happen to anyone regardless of bottle size.

And they have had this stair machine that has been out of order since I’ve been a member which is over a few months

Opened a classic membership here this morning. One-one day was good, with no complaints. The facilities are clean and the equipment is well kept with no interference from the staff or members.

There are just few things I think should be added but my overall experience is amazing. They really know what they’re doing. It’s super clean and staff is super friendly and helpful. The lady who cleans the shower/locker area (I’m sorry I forgot her name) always smiles, asks if customers need help, and has very positive attitude. Jared (fitness trainer) is very knowledgeable and always available for any questions.
