Parking was a pain and compact. The shopping center was crowded and everyone drove like maniacs. It is a small gym and the gym was crowded at around 8 am. The equipment setup was not the best either.

I am updating the review to 3 stars they modified the equipment setup, which is looking a lot better than when I initially went. There was new equipment added: new stair masters now there are 6 of them, new smith machines 6 of them, a hip thrust machine which was unfortunately broken on the second day from the initial installation, bands for resistance, bands with handles, new free weights. I wish they would have gotten rid of some elliptical machines since they are rarely ever used when I go to these gyms, they are not bad cardio machines I like them, I just see people use the bikes, stair masters are usually taken, and treadmill for cardio. Parking is still bad and you will notice people hogging smith machines so you will need to work around, not my first choice if you want to train lower body.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE WORKOUT IN THEIR SOCKS. IT'S DISGUSTING, WE DON'T WANT YOUR FUNGUS. BUY SOME CONVERSE OR VANS!

I don't understand why this gym closes so much dont you have this open 24 hours to fix whatever issues go on. This year alone the gym was closed about 3 times. Other planet fitness gyms do not close for plumbing issues. They never close at all. Very bad coordination or just lazy. The gym is also very dirty, staff does not seem to proactively clean unless management comes to visit.

I’m very disappointed with the Huntington Park, Alameda location. A member was canceled for wearing jeans, even though many other members were wearing jeans at the same time. The staff also threatened to call the police, which felt unnecessary and alarming. This treatment seems inconsistent and unfair.

I can't say anything about the staff. They're always friendly, and I see them doing their job. I can't blame them for the fact that ignorant people come to the gym every 5 or 10 minutes and leave their weights everywhere. Even so, the staff comes and puts them back. What I do have to complain about is that the showers haven't been working for almost two weeks or more, and there are people who go to work after the gym and need to shower! Please fix this as soon as possible, since we pay to be able to use all the gym services. Thank you!

A lot of inconsistencies, Jesus is a smug, unhelpful manager. I'm reconsidering this gym but unfortunately I have health issues that going to the gym is helping with.
I downgraded my plan 2 weeks in advance. I tried skip the forms about bringing a child in because it wouldn't apply to me. I was assured the downgrade happened and I saw it on my phone also. Come next billing cycle it was still charging the plus plan while displaying the low plan. I came in to try to fix this and it could have been those forms were required anyway. They told me they weren't charging me $15, assured a note was left and showed me the screen. I asked "will it be charged for the next month or was it waived for the inconvenience?" And the staff person said "it will be waived for the inconvenience". Later it charges me $15 and I spoke with the manager about what happened, he put the blame on me without the other person being there saying "sorry you feel that way" and "you misunderstood" and that "I should read the contract". Which I did, and is outdated. It says 7 days written notice which is no longer applicable and you can just come into the gym (why I came in 2 weeks in advance for the downgrade) Too many discrepancies. Go to another place if you can. Also the gym is very small and crowded often. Weights are often all over the place.

Sadly way too many machines are broken now, the tissue for wiping down are always out so having to walk around looking for one that has stock in it is annoying because they won't have it either so I essentially make a full circle turn looking for tissues so I can clean my area, padding on leg machines are pretty torn up as well, not sure if they can replace that

For mess such as dirty lockers or restrooms you can't really blame staff for that, I have literally seen male gym members shaving with clippers in our changing area just not carrying about their hairs all over the place, maybe doing more cleaning cycles into the lockers might help but I do not know their cleaning rotations n how often they do it

The staff I have interacted with are nice, I do let them know machines are out or if if they can restock and they do so staff wise they are good (I come different times and days so I probably seen most staff)

Really wish it was colder, it can get really hot when it's packed and feels like theres no air flow, specially now that it's summer and all the free people are going it's packed all day so a lot of heat is all over the place

Even though the gym is small it could still have potential but unfortunately it’s just a dirty, unorganized gym. Weights all over the place, trash all over the floor, machines not fully functioning. Of course you can’t blame the staff completely because everyone should be picking up after themselves like grown people but that’s HP for you. At the same time the staff shouldn’t be letting the gym get that bad but the staff is young and these young folk are hella lazy. The few times I’ve gone they’re just all chilling in the front doing absolutely nothing when there’s clearly a lot to do.

I love going to the planet fitness Located on Alameda, everyone is respectful, they greet people with a hello and a smile, cleaning after every use of machine and the employees are always busy as well. If i have any questions they answer them. The most comfortable gym I have even been to.

Acudí el 21 de Septiembre a esta ubicación para actualizar la información de mi nueva tarjeta de CHASE; misma que reemplaza a la anterior debido a que en una promoción fraudulenta ingenuamente y de buena fe puse todos mis datos e información; misma que usaron los estafadores para obtener beneficios intentando hacer pagos para apropiarse de mis recursos económicos...Chase se dio cuenta y bloquearon todas esas actividades que detectaron como inusuales e ilegales; cosa que agradezco enormemente; el otro paso: Me otorgaron, insisto, otra tarjeta...; antes de recibirla; planeando resolver ese evento hablé por teléfono con el Sr. Jesús, manager de esa negociación. Me sugirió; tan pronto tuviera la nueva numeración de la mencionada tarjeta ir a Huntington Park. Pocas veces se tiene la oportunidad de interactuar con una persona tan amable y de excelente calidad humana como él... A pesar de que el no estuvo ayer en PF fui gratamente atendido por su asistente Kevin...me resolvió eficientemente el asunto y me quede muy complacido. Muchas gracias nuevamente por ello...fue un verdadero lujo para mi haber asistido a ese lugar...Mis parabienes y felicitaciones además de un afectuoso saludo para todos ellos;... especialmente para el Sr. Manager... Horrible experience with JESUS!!!!!!! As a member who supports THREE different Planet Fitness franchises, I have PAID memberships and have that right. It's a place to get the essentials done. I like how most of the times the machines are not crowded or packed and I can get to do my workouts quickly. The problem I have though is that I can never find the weights I'm looking for in the correct spot. For example if I want to use the 75lbs dumbells they're most likely racked on the 5lbs spot or they're scattered somewhere around the gym like all the other weights. The gym has lots of nasty people that leave their used paper towels on the machines, gum and paper in the urinals and pee on the floor. Sanitation and organization is what this place is missing. I'd like the staff to be strict with this.

The staff is pretty chill and friendly for the most part making the location reasonably decent. It can get busy but I've noticed most people complete their workouts fairly quick. My only complaint is the cleaning station. It gets messy quickly and they don’t replace the tissue or cleaning spray often enough. I don't think kids should be 'working' these kinds of places without proper training. I went in the gym around und 2 am by the time I came out all my belongings were missing from my car, I believe the security guard at the time was also involved. I called the police and submitted a report. I'm still talking to the security agency that works these places. I cancelled my membership. I'm. First of all this gym is just not it and i say this from experience being in here for a while and no exaggeration as a Karen. The staff super lazy, the gym equipment is rough rusty and feels off, the place is dirty at times but i dont mind, people leaving gym equipment everywhere, and finally it always gets packed with high schoolers who just hog machines for like an hour. I will say the gym is good for losing weight with all the running machine which is also another reason why I gave it 2 stars. But other than that a different gym would be wayy better. Ive been in this gym for a while now but I changed to blink fitness at one point then they closed so I had to come back to this dump. Hopefully the gym gets changed immediately its just not good.

Planet fitness experience could be a lot better.
I’ve been quite a few Planet Fitness and this is the worst one. Many of the machines are broken or rusty. This by far is the most discouraging aspect. considering that most of the machines only have two so if the one I want is broken and the other one is occupied, I’m left waiting longer or unable to use it entirely.
These breakages include the machine being entirely useless or pieces of the machine being useless. Many are missing adjustment knobs.
Aside from that after using many Planet Fitness machines these here don’t seem to be calibrated correctly. For example, in other planet fitnesses I cannot bicept curl past 45 pounds but at this one, I can use the 70 pound with ease.
As well, the staff is not very friendly. Other Planet Fitnesses seem to require that people working at the front greet you I have entered this Planet Fitness over 20 times and not been greeted. That alone is not enough for me to be annoyed, but the machines are the biggest issue.
The place is really disorganized. A lot of people move weights around and people are on their phones a lot so they don’t seem to be aware of how much time they’re sitting. (I know that that is not entirely the fault of this Planet Fitness but I noticed it is a difference between here and other ones.)
From what I know planet fitness are individually on, so I hope the owner would be more willing to buy better equipment
Other planet fitness have updated to have machines that count how many reps you’ve done This one does not.
The only reason I go here is because there is no other one near my work location that’s convenient otherwise I would stop going entirely.

5/5 the workers are extremely helpful, well educated talking to the customers and restrooms are cleaned. I usually workout at night and it’s empty I have no problem in getting my workout in with the machines / weights I need. If a machine is broken it usually takes no more than 1- 2 days to get it fixed from what I’ve noticed which Is a plus & there’s a security guard making it much safer to enjoy my workout.

I had trouble getting on the machines I wanted as it was a bit crowded during mid-day. I didn't like that it was one big room. I like the downtown Broadway location better - more machines of each type, two levels, and not so open. Downtown is less crowded. Can't beat the price though and the staff was excellent.

I just wish they would walk around more and enforce the rules of not talking, texting or wasting time. Some people go to this gym to waste their time and mine because they don’t move from the machines. I understand we must share the machines but sitting at a machine on your phone for ten minutes plus is just disrespectful and wasting time. Please have your staff walk around and enforce the rules. The gym is a place to work out not a place to take selfies, text, talk or waste time!!!!
