I finally canceled my membership here after they started using the purple Fabuloso cleaner in such quantities I couldn’t breathe inside and would have respiratory irritation for days afterwards. No kidding, you can smell the obnoxious cleaner from about 15 feet outside of the building. I spoke to the manager who said they’d stop using it and that never happened. Aside from that, the bathrooms are absolutely filthy. I wouldn’t even consider taking a shower here. It’s a shame because the gym does have really nice equipment and a nice layout. The other thing I didn’t like is the amount of riff raft, especially in the summer when they let the teenagers work out for free. You’re trying to work out and you’ve got some punk kid who smells like weed in your space.

Isaac was smug and rude to my wife and me tonight. So prissy. And the place smelled like there was a sewer leak. I’ve never been treated so bad where I was a long time paying customer. No wonder it’s empty. I canceled my membership and went to EOS down the street.

I think his name was Omar didn't respect my broken English, I'm from another country. Made me feel unwelcome. gave me a hard time over the phone. Told me cause of my ethnicity and hard accent I couldn't use they facility. Will not be getting a membership anytime soon.
I'm surprised they hire such disrespectful people to answer they phones. Made me feel inadequate. I felt unwanted and abused after just asking how much is the membership. 😞Go somewhere else.

Smallest PF I've been to. That doesn't make it bad though! I got in a great workout and the equipment was in great condition. What this PF questionable are the two kids at the front desk that reek of weed and have been on their phones the entire two hours I've been here. I wasn't greeted, wasn't acknowledged as I was standing there waiting to use the Black Card Spa. The cleaning stations were out of paper towels and some out of spray. These kids didn't have time to look up from their phone to clean the gym

Planet Fitness Team,

I'm writing to express my frustration with the 'Kids Go Free' policy at my local Planet Fitness gym. While I understand the intention behind offering free memberships to kids, the current implementation is unfair to paying members like myself.

It seems that kids are allowed to come in at any time, and they're often monopolizing the equipment while paying members like me are unable to use the machines we need. Many of these kids are distracted by their phones, chatting with friends, or making TikTok videos.

I think it would be more reasonable to designate specific times for kids to work out for free, such as after school hours or on weekends, rather than allowing them to occupy the gym during peak hours. This would ensure that paying members have access to the equipment and facilities they need.

I hope you'll consider revising the policy to better balance the needs of paying members.

I was in town for a couple of days and needed a quick workout—Planet Fitness came in clutch! The gym was cool and very clean, creating a comfortable environment. Despite the small space, they packed in a great variety of equipment, so I didn’t have any trouble getting on a machine. The customer service was good, with friendly staff. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to fit in a workout!
Missing star - I was cautious enough to visit during off-peak hours, but I can see how it could get quite uncomfortably crowded during peak times, especially given the small space.

I’ve been a member of Planet Fitness in La Quinta since it first opened, and my experience has consistently been wonderful. One of the standout aspects of this location is the cleanliness – They actively encourage members to clean equipment before and after use, which I really appreciate, and the cleaning stations are always fully stocked.

Even with new gyms opening nearby, I remain loyal to this location, largely due to an incredible employee named Myra. Every visit, Myra greets me warmly, asking how I am, and she makes everyone feel seen and welcomed. She goes above and beyond in her role, constantly working hard to ensure that everything is in order. She always has a friendly smile on her face, and her positive energy truly enhances the atmosphere.

The new Palm Desert location is like an Oasis for me. I can’t wait to get there when life is hectic. I reward myself with the black card spa once I make it through my workouts. 9/18/24 Still a bunch of people that don't wipe the machines, employees that just sit behind the desk while the bathroom is abhorrent,paper towels are out etc., teens just hanging out taking up space.can't wait for the new EOS to open up, only other gym nearby South La Quinta.

8/20/24 5th time in the last 2 weeks that multiple paper towels holders are empty ,have to walk across the gym to get paper towels , 2 employees upfront ,one on a laptop the other sitting on the counter on his phone. Off duty employee sitting in the 30 minute area with her friends , 2nd time I've seen her there once while in uniform , both times all her friends walk out with HER and don't wipe anything off. At this point I'd say 90% of members wipe NOTHING off, but who is gonna say anything ?

Update 2024: New summer same problems.but add homeless people sleeping on the couch in the black card area in the early morning hours, homeless people doing their laundry in the bathroom ,also in the early morning and the teens playing dodgeball with medicine balls while people are working out around them. I guess I get what I pay for , but for $24 a month and an EOS opening down the street, leaving is now a serious consideration.

Summer of 2023:So Now the Teen Program is going on and there are more people not cleaning machines. One morning a teen sat at a machine In the "30 minute" area for 15 mins just staring into space and checking his phone. Only 1 staff member on duty, place is packed with groups of teens. Havent even been back in over a month, just burning $23 a month .

This location has a major issue with people not cleaning machines.I see it every single day, sometimes the same people day after day and sometimes new people. I left early the other day after watching someone go to about 6 machines in the 30 minute area and not wipe a single machine down.some carry a dry paper towel from machine to machine and make the motion as if they are cleaning it, some blatantly tell their friends "it's not dirty" and walk away . The employees basically just stand behind the counter and have no idea what's really going on. It's frustrating and as a member I shouldn't have to confront other members myself or run and "tattle"

My husband and I visit Planet Fitness at least 4 times a week. The staff have always been welcoming. Rarely do I see anything out of order or uncleanly. . Most customers I have seen clean the equipment off once they are done. It has always been a pleasure visiting and it is a “ Judgement Free Zone”.
We would like to give a shout out to an employee named Mayra. When she is there at work she always makes an effort to greet us and exchange a few kind words. It makes us feel very comfortable. She is always working on cleaning or dusting or wiping things down.
In this day and age to get a good employee is rare. We feel she is an asset to your fitness center.

The night time staff is amazing, it's currently the new employees that are not. I've been going here for the past 4 years, never have I experienced dirty restrooms for example there has been a poop stain or something of that in the restroom for the past 3 days (girls restroom) today I had to ask a staff if they had paper towels since every dispenser was out and hadn't been replaced to clean equipment. I'm usually greeted and the environment used to be friendly, but since going in afternoons and morning I've had trouble with asking for something as simple as can you lower the fans for literally 15 minutes, I've never had my hair blowing everywhere and wind drying my sinuses until this summer it was an issue and when its been even hotter previous years. And I get an attitude in return, I have severe allergies and this is why I come to the gym unlike other people I can't exercise outside. I do not mind reminding staff to turn it up after I'm done to avoid issues. The problem is the lack of caring and attitude I've been receiving which is why I go at night which is an inconvenience for me but the night time staff has no issues with turning the fan down and have not gave me any bad treatment obviously switching to eos soon because it appears this place is literally going down hill since staff has been replaced or fired.

Giving a two star from last night's visit 8/4/24 at 9pm. Walked in place was super hot, fans had been turned off. Asked the front desk girl why were they off. Girl with long curly hair the only one working at desk. Replied with an small attitude. Saying people were complaining cause it was too cold in the gym an hour before my arrival. Asked if she could turn them back on, the attitude about it was not appreciate. Let alone sitting down on her cell phone instead of working or making sure things are clean or needed. Are your employees there to work? Or sitting down on their cell phone. Not sure how to make everyone happy cause you can't, however take into consideration people with health conditions might can't work out in a hot gym, it's already hot outside. I pray you fix these issues.

I have become very disappointed with how crowded planet fitness has gotten during the summer. With the summer high school program it has caused the gym to become so incredibly crowded. I have come at many different times during the day at any day of the week and it’s been busy, but not just any type of busy.. busy because the high schoolers can come at any given point of the day. I feel If these kids are going to be let in for free. It should be specific hours that way for the ones who hold a membership get to actually work out peacefully.. They are not being monitored half the time they sit around hogging equipment on their phones and are not respectful of other peoples time. It’s almost impossible to find equipment to work out on Between the hours of 3 PM to 9 PM But like I’ve said, I’ve come earlier and it is still incredibly busy. Please please if PF is going to continue with this free program These kids should be monitored.. And I strongly believe that their free pass should pertain to certain hours of the day. Not to mention, they have not been keeping up with bathroom maintenance. I’ve been a member for 5 years and I’m contemplating on canceling my membership since I’m not able to properly work out in such an uncomfortable and crowded gym.

Love this conveniently located gym. It’s got everything you need to get a great workout, but I wish they had classes.

I wanted to mention that one employee in particular – Mayra – always seems to be working harder than anyone else. It's a bonus to have such a friendly face greet you every day.

That girl is a workhorse, but always takes time to make sure you know she’s happy you’re there.

She always stays busy cleaning, restocking, working the desk, and even taking trash to the dumpsters! Really goes out of her way to make the place clean and inviting. She’s also super friendly and the majority of the members know her.

If there was ever an “employee of the month” – she’d be most deserving!

Quick to cancel your membership with excitedment all Bec you ask a question information you was missed informed about when you signed up for planet fitness . #6 ask the customer what can you do to resolve the issue .. instead of saying thank you for the feedback .. that's why your loosing customers .

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I use the triceps n biceps equipment and works out really great. Showers are roomy. Can't go wrong here at Planet Fitness!!

Still has not improved. Tried to contact management. No response.

I like the location but if you are going in the 30 minute work out zone you will be sorely dissapointed. They don't monitor it so members just start using it like a regular area so it can't be used as intended. If you ask them about it they just shrud their shoulders - "nothing we can do about it ."They should just get rid of it because it doesn't work they the way they are dealing with it. Management or staffing issue I guess.

Staff was as helpful as their knowledge allowed, still kept their professional demeanor. Cleanliness needs some help. Walked in to the bathroom and two of the stalls still had urine and feces.

I frequent here a lot. The majority of my membership is for the RedRoom and Hydro Massagers. Due to physical illnesses I have been needing the Red Room but it hasn’t been working in over a month. Gives me reason to question my keeping my membership going if I am not able to use what I got it for in the first place.
Please fix the Total Body Enhancement machine already. Some of us suffer greatly when not being able to use this regularly!
