I just can’t get a bomb workout no matter the time nowadays.
Few weeks ago I went to go workout at this gym I’ve been going for some time at 3 AM. On my way out, this girl named Jan (working overnight) stops me saying “Angel!” I take off my pro maxes and proceeds to tell me two things.
First, that I can’t be dropping the weights loud. Which ofc it’s going to be loud since it’s more quiet than normal at 3 am. I proceed to tell her I never touched the weights to start with and then I told her if she meant the ‘machines’ which she didn’t like and told me to lower my voice. I relaxed my tone of voice and told her the Lunk Alarm didn’t even go off…
Second thing she said is that I couldn’t help myself with the bed and that I needed to tell her whenever I needed to use the bed. Mind you, I’ve asked her previously for 10 min bed which she refused. All other FD agents/MOD’s would always give me 10 min except Jan from Overnight. I explained to her that she wouldn’t give me 10 mins herself so I helped myself which she didn’t like neither… so she followed by saying that NEXT TIME she would cancel my membership if this happens again.

I looked at her and said ‘Cancel it right now…like what are we doing?’ And she said “Ok” as I’m walking out.

I’m heading to my car and Jan decides to leave the FD and leave the gym to follow me outside and tells me she’s going to call someone to beat me up and have someone key my car as well… didn’t say a word to her after that.

I called the next day to talk to the MOD and explained everything that had happened and asked her if she had indeed cancelled my membership and she said ‘No’ as they do need my signature to finish the contract. So I went there personally to cancel the membership myself.

I fully understand we’re in the ghetto but minding your business while trying to get a bomb workout at 3 am without getting harrased is nearly impossible nowadays in this gym.

For all my overnighters, I highly recommend 24 hour fitness in Mission Hills and it’s only 10-15 Mins.

I have been a Black card member for four years now and it is truly the worst time of the year to be a member of Planet Fitness. This promotion of allowing immature, self-centered, and selfish teenagers, join your gym is an insult to your paying members.
It is sad that we cannot get in touch with the franchise owners to voice these complaints. We are stonewalled at every chance we get. I have witnessed a fight almost start because of this rude population just standing around or cutting in front of others to gain access to machines. I know this is a marketing effort by Planet fitness to gain new members. There has to be a better way without inconveniencing your paying customer!!!
When are we going to get a response from someone with authority who has a stake in the success of Planet Fitness??

I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding the promotional practices of Planet Fitness. During the summer months, Planet Fitness offers a promotion that allows high school students to use their facilities for free for a three-month period. While I understand and support initiatives that promote youth fitness, I believe this particular program creates an unfair experience for paying members.

As a paying patron, I have consistently experienced increased overcrowding during this promotional period. Equipment is often unavailable, and the overall gym environment becomes far less conducive to a productive workout. It feels unjust that those who are paying for access are now competing with large numbers of non-paying users for space and equipment.

If Planet Fitness wishes to extend free access as a goodwill gesture or promotional tool, I believe it would be more fair and reasonable to limit the duration of such offers, for example, to one or two weeks, rather than the entire summer. Alternatively, similar promotions could be extended to loyal paying members, or additional accommodations could be made to preserve the quality of the gym experience for all.

I, and many others in similar situations, feel that this current policy is inconsiderate of the loyal paying customers.

I've been coming here now for over a year. It's quiet and clean, and everyone is respectful, with good customer service. The tvs have captions in English and Spanish channels alot of the times it's really busy and have to wait long for the machines. Besides that it's a comfortable environment, lockers in the bathroom, and vending machines in front. The parking is usually busy because there are other stores in the lot, but I always find parking.

Came in to get a workout in and what a booming planet fitness.

It is busy however the people move quickly as well. I did not see one broken piece of equipment.

Although I was not able to find the resistance bands.

I will say in the men’s locker room everything was clean the only thing is the water takes quite some time to get warm.

I signed up just before the pandemic and they waived the payments for a year which was great. I had lost my job so I still fell behind afterwards and while in collections, my membership somehow still stayed active and I’ve been paying regularly years later. I called and emailed today to trace the payments and to fix everything from my weird old billing issues. I had an associate and manager both help me fix this and they really went above and beyond. If I hadn’t moved far away, I’d keep my membership based on service alone! Seriously, I got high class help that I didn’t expect from a gym with such an affordable monthly rate. Planet fitness is a complete scam and I wouldn't recommend this gym to my worst enemy. I would describe this gym at least the third level of hell. The fourth level would be the process of trying to get rid of your account.

Planet fitness knows exactly what they're doing with their scammy ways of trying to lure people in with these low prices on to add tons of extra fees and costs. Also unlike every other gym they asked for you bank information..... not your debit card....that is extremely uncomfortable, they do this to make sure that they can get your money even if you try to cancel your debit card they will still get into your account. That is why they do that not for security reasons so they can ensure that they can get your money even without your permission.

It is deceitful and manipulative, in the reason why everyone sees planet fitness as a joke. The McDonald's of gyms as you will. They will try their other most best to make the process of you trying to cancel your membership with this gym as if you sold your soul to them.

They try to lure people in with the black card without letting them know that they will not be able to cancel it. They lure people in with the black card with the illusion that it costs less only to let them know that tons of extra charges will be used on your cost.

It's terrible the dishonest ways that try to bring in customers besides just being honest and having good prices like 24 hour fitness or LA fitness or any other gym that isn't planet fitness is deplorable.

I have not been to a planet fitness since June of 2023 and they are still continuing the charge me despite the fact that I kept telling to them to cancel it. After being forced to pay a bile fee in order to actually cancel the subscription, I made sure to start blocking all of their payments from my bank to make sure that they don't try to do any more sketchy tactics without me knowing

I will give this review to every single planet fitness I can. Not just this location. I will spread the word.. I will warn people...

They have an area dedicated for people wanting to circuit training, the members do not respect the rules. It’s very frustrating trying to do a workout and nasty people who will not follow rules. If you want to workout with very disrespectful members, this is your place because staff could care less. I joined because of the rules they have at this gym not to loiter on machines. After 24 hr fitness & LA fitness, it’s a decently sized gym with all you really need. Clean and well maintained! The only criticism I have is people have a bad habit of hogging the smith machines! Up to groups of 3 share the same rack for about 30 minutes, people using 3 different pieces of equipment at the same time along with the machine so no one else can use it. I suppose they’re good at ignoring the 3 people waiting in line to use the smith machines. I suggest to put a sign/notice against the mirrors saying that there is a 30 minute limit when people are waiting! Part of why I liked LA Fitness.

Hello 👋 to the head of the franchise that owns plant fitness of Pacoima on 11950 foothill Blvd lake view terrace. I have been having issues with I believe her name is Janira. She is the club manager there. It really started with the personal trainer who doesn’t work there anymore. Her name is Andrea. They both would play mind games with me and now the club manager continues doing it. She cleans around me a lot I mean a lot. Where I workout doesn’t need that much cleaning. I know there is another person above the club manager I tried speaking with him as well to have things go more smoothly. He gave me the same attitude as the other two did. I honestly don’t know what their problem is. Ever since I joined it’s kinda been a problem there. I literally just went to join the gym to get in better shape for myself. I feel I am being harassed by the staffed. Mainly by the head management. The staff does it as well. They are so rude act very unprofessional. I even told her I just want to come here work out and leave. She was like ok. Still went around me starting cleaning and said I will move this for you in a sarcastic way. Why couldn’t she just keep cleaning and not bother me. They are extremely rude. When you confront them, they are all smiles and say I don’t know what you’re talking about. I hardly speak to you. I had enough over their rudeness. I just want to workout and be left alone. They also have a security guard follow me around while I’m working out. It’s so weird.. I always go around the same time because that is the only time I can around 9-11am. Monday- Saturday. So whoever works during those hours I say if you can avoid it do it. Staff like to joke about its members. Very unprofessional people. They send in an security guard to follow and stalk people they don't like and I seen two members (A couple) confront the guy on what i can only believe is about his constant presence around the gym. If you have a contract with them, i'd recommend insulting the staff back and make them so fed up they terminate your contract because it could be less of a hassle cancelling yourself. Every other staff at this location has ever been rude like this. I cancelled my membership and NORTH HOLLYWOOD location, EXPLAINED TO ME I HAD UNTIL THE 16th to come to the gym. Never did they tell me the cancellation was immediate. I still came to the gym after my cancellation with NO PROBLEM. But today a female manager assisted me on Sunday at 9:30 am. And was very rude she really got me upset with the behavior and the manner she handled this situation. When a customer is under the impression they can attend until a certain date because that is was they were told upon cancellation, it is not their fault! I don't think this assistant manager understands. SHE DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT BE IN ANY TYPE OF LEADERSHIP ROLE. As a manager myself there are ways situations can be handled and being rude and disrespectful to a customer is not one of them especially if it is not their fault. Please tend to this because I will be calling corporate. Staff at the north Hollywood location were able to help me more via phone call rather than this individual at the Sylmar location in person I’m so disappointed.

The worse location ever...management allows some members to hold 3 sets of weight and 2 benches at the same time while 5 people waiting to get a chance to work out. Disappointing.....i would not recommend this location

I love planet fitness! Its my favorite gym because it’s a judge free environment and the amenities are excellent and the machines are always clean however this particular location didn’t live up to its name ! The staff was rude constant side eye attitude and If the staff doesn’t have a good attitude how can we expect everyone at the gym to do so either ? The first time that I felt judged at a planet fitness was at this location ! Please improve staff and follow guidelines

Great gym. Good customer service. Parking can be hard at times depending on the time that you go in. The Gym is friendly and there's plenty of equipment for exercising but like I said curtain times might affect availability of equipment.
