The gymnasium area was clean and well equipped however when it came time to shower, oh my. I am disabled and I wanted to use the disability shower however the shower controls were torn off the wall and the lower shower head was missing. I tried to use a shower directly to the left that showers controls did not work either I tried to use the shower to the next left and found that it did work however there was enough hair in the drain that the drain would not drain water with the shower turned on and made a lake. The bathrooms were not clean. The bathrooms were not functional. Two out of four showers did not function at all. On the door it said that this was a franchise and it was privately owned so apparently the corporation has no power over them except to share membership; because my membership is in Georgia and it still works here. I have been to planet fitness in 11 states and this is the worst Showers and toilet use I’ve been to. I was told welcome to California. Mmmmm

I’ve given this Planet Fitness location multiple chances, but the consistent neglect from higher management has made it impossible to continue supporting this gym.

Broken Equipment: Machines are frequently out of order, and repairs take weeks (if they happen at all). It’s frustrating to show up for a workout only to find half the equipment tagged with "out of service" signs especially when the same machines stay broken for months.

Staffing Issues: The front desk is often understaffed, leaving members waiting for assistance. Even when staff are present, they seem overworked and powerless to fix major issues because of a lack of support from above.

Management Doesn’t Care: The biggest problem isn’t the employees—it’s the corporate-level management that clearly has no interest in investing in this location. Complaints fall on deaf ears, and there’s zero accountability for ongoing problems. It’s clear this club is just another number to them, not a place where real people expect decent service. It is disgusting to see other gyms get favored in the sense of repairs and new equipment. Both Stockton clubs, Hammer lane and March lane, both got new equipment and a lovely remodeling. Yet Lodi is left in shambles, massages don’t work half of the time. Machines are old or just flat out broken. How is the only planet fitness gym between Lodi to sac area just forgotten. We get people who commute from Lockeford or Galt. You’d think this place would get some love but nope left to rot while the employees here are getting dragged down with them. I feel sorry for those individuals.

If you’re looking for a functional gym with leadership that actually cares, I’d suggest going elsewhere. This location is a sinking ship, and corporate is nowhere to be found.

This is definitely my go to gym in the area. Very clean the staff is cool and everything is clean.

The only downfall is that some equipment is down and it's been like this for a while now.

Hopefully they can fix them soon especially now with the influx of youth with the summer program, which is great!

However the equipment is getting used more and if some are down the wait time is bad for the one machine that's available.

Overall, respectfulness of members at this location is poor during busy times. The Lunk alarm must’ve been broken today because I never sounded once even though this dude was practically breaking the machine. Repairs are slow. They were playing Mexican music and mumble rap. It might be okay at the beach, but I don’t wanna be forced to listen to that while I work out.

I canceled my membership on June 11 because I discovered that OnePass (thru Kaiser) has a program that allows us to use 4 gyms in Lodi for $30/month. Such a great benefit!

When I went into Planet Fitness to cancel, lady said I would not be charged June 16, which was when I was normally billed. Looking at my bank account today, June 23, I was charged. So, I called today, and their supervisor said I had to cancel by the 10th for it not to be deducted. He did not apologize for the lady telling me the false info initially, but instead told me that it's in my contract that we had to cancel by June 10.

Be that as it may, it would have been nice to be reminded by the Planet Fitness worker when I did go in and cancel - it's not like we read or carry around the contract. This is called Customer Service, which the meaning is lost on most companies these days. I mean, when I see the workers, they're not doing much, so this would have been nice of them to do a little extra and remind me... or at the very least NOT tell me that I was no longer going to be charged. What this tells me is that they will only do bare minimum for their customers. I am happy to have my OnePass membership. I totally recommend looking into this if you have Kaiser as your benefits provider. In-Shape and Fitness Works are much better. Twin Arbors is older, but it's not as crowded and people there are friendly. The outdoor pool is also nice.

I rarely write reviews, but this location deserves some honest feedback. The staff here is consistently unprofessional and disengaged. It’s frustrating to walk into a gym where weights are scattered everywhere and nobody takes responsibility for re-racking them — not even the employees.

Basic hygiene is clearly not a priority. Paper towel dispensers are often empty, the bathrooms are filthy, and the entire place smells like urine and feces. It’s honestly disgusting and unacceptable for a fitness facility.

To make matters worse, the music situation feels unfair and borderline discriminatory. If you play a song in English, it gets disliked by employees quickly, but Spanish-language songs seem to stay on rotation without issue. It feels like there’s intentional bias in how the music is managed — not exactly welcoming for all guests.

This place has seriously gone downhill. I’m not sure how corporate hasn’t stepped in, but until they clean house — both literally and figuratively — I can’t recommend this location to anyone.

Staff Amy who works the front desk and sometimes all over the place at the gym has very supportive to my needs as a senior member. Recently, she helped me sign up with silver sneakers by following through with my enrollment and kept me informed of my status. Amy's smile, friendliness, compassion, and helpful attitude makes it a stress free environment giving me the energy to have a positive work out for my well being and health. Her best work ethic I enjoy the most is her cleanliness in keeping the front desk clean and organize as well as the overall gym when time permits her. In addition, I have observed Amy as a team player who is well liked by PF members and her coworkers. For the most, all PF employees (Mila, Mike, Guss, Kathryn, Daphane) who I have had contact with have always been kind and helpful.

Samantha is an awesome employee! I left my water bottle there this morning and went in at 9:05 tonight to get it but was unaware they close at 9 on Sunday's. Samantha graciously checked the lost and found for my water bottle and then found it in the locker room. Since July 2024 the cleanliness of the gym has gon down. I like using the 360 room and it's always dusty and dirty back there... aside from messy customers not putting up their weights there are a ton of dust accumulated up and the floor is dirty, hair, dirt and sometimes pieces of trash.

Planet Fitness – Lodi Review

I originally signed up for Planet Fitness when my son took advantage of the free summer teen membership. I used the gym for a few months and really enjoyed it, but then I moved to a rural county that unfortunately doesn’t have a PF location. That’s when my problems started.

The old manager at the Lodi location refused to set my home gym to this location, even though I had never once visited the one assigned by the computer upon sign-up. When I moved and was no longer using the membership, I tried to cancel, but they wouldn’t let me. I also reached out to the Manteca location multiple times, but their manager never returned my calls no matter how many messages I left.

Thankfully, the new manager at the Lodi location, Miela (hope I’m spelling that right!), was a total lifesaver. She swiftly handled everything—canceling my membership and even waiving the back fees, which I truly appreciated since I hadn’t used the gym in a year. Funny enough, the Manteca manager had told me that wasn’t possible, but Miela made it happen with no hassle.

Aside from the previous issues, I have to say that this location is great. It’s always clean, never overly crowded, and has all the best equipment. Once my schedule and budget allow, I’ll definitely be coming back. Huge thanks to Miela for turning a frustrating situation into a positive experience!

I guess they needed savings somewhere else, and they decided to save by cutting a 6-inch gap for shower curtains.

Update: I guess the 6-inch did not save them enough, so they increased the gap to 10-inch. Size 10 shoe for scale.
To promote the recent Para-olympic, they also cut a 30-inch gap in the ADA stall for everyone to follow the events in the stall.

Cable machines broke and it takes them months to fix it, just for another machine to break. They got a new cable machine, it broke within the first week and they never fixed it. The members there treat the gym equipment like they don’t care other people have to use it. Stealing the clips and ruining the only cable machines we have. The yellow jungle gym cable machines have been broken for what’s seems to be for over a year

Michelle is the BEST cleaner and super friendly. Seriously, she needs a raise. I’m from the Sacramento area and come to Lodi location often because it’s so much better. The 24 hour night shift employees, including Mike, are all so friendly and welcoming. (I went during the weekday afternoon a few times and it was not as clean and comfortable.) However, Please please give us some filtered water, though, and some equipment upgrades! This should be mandatory.

Also very clean, nice to get a hot shower. Being on the road also tractor supply and dollar store in the same parking lot if you want to re. Supply.

This is the absolute best gym I have ever been to. Stacey the manager is very friendly and very sweet. I drive 30 mins or more just to come to this particular gym because the staff are always so polite and so nice. Keep up the good work Stacey, Kathryn, Mila, Armeet! Thank all of you for making my workout the best experience!

I want to add to my review. This is absolutely the cleanest gym I have ever been in. I was there on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving and it was so clean in there that you can eat your dinner off the floor. Stacey the general manager and her crew, Kathryn, Mila, Armeet are constantly walking around cleaning. I am definitely a planet fitness member for life. Thank you again for the great work you all do for the members!
