Couldn't agree more with ace1usmc...showers are gross unsanitary and smells...floors are soaked with urine and debris. After months of regular complaints fall of deaf ears all a member can do is avoid that men's locker room it is disgusting. I have up and canceled membership. Manager has serious problems.

By far the dirtiest Planet Fitness in the central coast!!! The showers are caked with gunk and grime. Hair is all over the drains and walls. The toilet stalls smell like urine. The time wasted by staff, wiping down no-existent dust on the machines, can be time dedicated to scrubbing the locker rooms. I have been to the Santa Maria and Paso Robles locations and they are spotless. Don't reply to this message and suggest I contact management...been there, done that for over a year and nothing has been done. Just more gunk and grime on top of gunk and grime. There will be a new gym opening in Lompoc and I guarantee more than half of Plant Fitness members will be running to it. BTW...I can only imagine what the men's locker room looks and smells like.

This was BY FAR the dirtiest, most disgusting PF I've ever been to anywhere in the country. The locker room smelled dirty and like mold. The showers looked like they hadn't been cleaned in 6 months at least, which is ironic cause the cleaning cart was partially blocking the pathway to the bathroom area and shower area. And of course, every bottle in the cleaning cart was empty, which wasn't surprising considering the level of filth here. I'm a trucker, and I'm usually impressed by most of the PF's I go to. Not this one. Just gross.

Five stars for Joseph the assistant manager! I was having a problem with the payment process and nobody could help me. Until Joseph the assistant manager that is. It took him two minutes to figure out the problem and fix it. All the staff are super nice too in general and keep that place sparkling clean. I am so happy with this gym. Good work all of you!

Just moved back to the area and stopped by Planet Fitness, glad I did. Mike and Joe were outstanding. They took the time to give me a full tour, explained the signup process in a way that was super simple, and made me feel completely at home from the moment I walked in. For $15 a month you get what you get. The bathrooms are clean enough but do always smell like butt, but that's probably the clients themselves. The equipment is clean and is kept in working order, and when stuff goes down they quickly get it fixed and back in use. The staff are nice and usually busy with some sort of cleaning or maintenance. Check in is always easy and smooth. It's good functional equipment in a clean space to get a workout in for the average person. This is not the place for the muscle head plate clanker or the fancy spa and sauna seeker. But it is a great place for you to get your basic workout done.

Amazing gym for a Planet Fitness with great employees and a good amount of equipment. There's plenty of clean space and machines to use even when the "crowd meter" is up at its highest.
I had just moved into the Lompoc area and my Planet Fitness membership was tied to a location in Texas, but I was assisted by manager Joseph who helped me change my home location to Lompoc so I could use this location. He took it upon himself to do all the work while I enjoyed a workout, making my move just a bit easier. Couldn't ask for better customer service!

The gym is clean and well maintained; however it's missing a few amenities that most other PFs have. For instance, there are no small lockers at the entrance for keys and wallets. There are also no iFit or spin bikes, nor are there any TRX straps. There are more Smith Machines at this location than most other PFs though, which is nice.

Update: Way too crowded for the size of the building. Very difficult to get on equipment during peak times. Parking is also limited during peak hours, you may need to park on the other side of the strip mall.

Decent machines and friendly staff. The reason why there's such a low score is due too location and size. There are times where you cannot park anywhere near the gym and are sometimes blocked from a decent workout due too a ridiculous amount of other patrons in the tiny location. Hopefully management moves the gym across the street to the old Gemini theater for a better location and parking situation. On a side noten minor inconvenience of some patrons not wiping machines down after use and some of the paper towel machines breaking down frequently. To reiterate; Stagg is friendly and great, but location and size of gym is horrible.

UPDATE: After several months of no hot water at this location, I have cancelled my membership. I saw a lot of really bad reviews about how hard it is to cancel, so I specifically sought out Faith for the best possible experience. She was very unsurprised, as this ongoing issue has apparently caused a lot of members to leave. She didn't mention the automatic $22+ charge for another month that happened instantly. She said I will have access through the 16th (I cancelled on the 17th), but I was immediately signed out on my app and couldn't scan in at another location (they understood, though).

Faith - She's approachable, friendly, and genuinely seems to care about how gym-goers feel.

I'd have given it 5 stars, but the actual facilities/showers... They're *never* clean, and they NEVER have hot water and they don't bother telling anyone. Once, I was fully undressed and had all my bottles on the shelf ready to go and stood there shivering wondering why the water wasn't getting hot. When I redressed and asked at the front, a girl there seemed very blasé about it and didn't seem to understand why I was even asking. There's no corporate number to call, either, everything's a franchise, so you're stuck trying to get the blasé girl to care about it. Why bother.
The water pressure is also super weak, and the water is mounted on the ceiling so it's hard to get that light trickle to clean all you need it to. There's a big handicap shower with removable shower heads, but it's used by the most people, it seems, and some of the "things" I've seen people leave behind in there... I'll never use that one. NEVER.
Lately there has been one shower that has had the same (what I'm only guessing are someone's) pyoobs (not sure about censorship on here) smeared across the walls for over two months (I took a photo each time I went in until I realized that only time itself would remove them). I've only ever seen the staff use paper towels to clean the showers, when I asked them to.

A lot of younger gym girls seem to camp in the changing rooms. Almost every time I've showered there, pairs of teenagers would go into one dressing room together, pull the curtain, and just chitchat in there. Sometimes they were still in there when I left, or were already in there when I came in, or leave giggling while I'm right there in the GLASS showers. It's super creep behavior.
Last time, it looked like someone trimmed their bangs in a changing room.
A lot of times all three changing rooms (one is large, meant for for wheelchairs, etc but used by groups of teenagers and randos who think they need the space, I guess) will be empty, someone will still walk past the first (normal) one and go right into the one directly outside the shower I'm standing in. The floors are super slippery, and then I end up having to stagger over (with wet shower shoes on - you should always wear shower shoes in there) to get a changing room that's further away because people have no etiquette. Once, they came rushing out while I was carefully walking to the further room in my towel and it was awkward for both of us as they almost ran into me.

I've also been there in the glasssss shower when a woman brought her young SON in to use the bathroom. He acted like I was in a human aquarium and asked his mom a ton of questions about it, it was mortifying.
I've had a male employee come into the women's locker room unannounced twice so far while I was in there (I've been a member for over a year).

The gym itself is clean, even when it's crowded which is rare. There's always a free machine to grab, they've got everything you need for a thorough workout, and cleaning stuff is conveniently placed everywhere.

Overall I'd say work out here, shower and maybe even change at home. If you're going to use the shower, BYOB - Bring Your Own Bleach! Clean it before you even get in! And you're guaranteed to leave the showers here with a story about the People of Lompoc.

This PF has the worst lukewarm barely dripping showers I have ever seen.
Check the picture out, it's at full blast.
Don't exect to be nice and warm, you most likely freeze by the end. That's how owners "limit" your showering time, saving money on you, barely dripping and then it's cold! NEVER seen this in PF before (and we have been to a ton!)
I don't expect it to be YMCA, bit come on, let people take a good shower after work out!

I would not recommend it to people with limited time— too many members and not enough equipment. The only machines available without waiting are cardio machines. If you want to cancel your membership, they charge a $58.00 cancelation fee. They only care about your monthly payments not your workouts needs.

It’s 545 in the morning everyone is waiting outside, and nobody is here to open. Very annoying, why work at a gym knowing mornings are very IMPORTANT I come this early because it’s my routine.

10/10 recommend this Planet Fitness and all its staff members! The staff cares to get to know their members and greet / farewell them as they come and go. I do feel like a part of a community versus someone who comes and goes. Frankie is always a welcoming face and knows me by name!
I also have had to deal with a payment issue which resulted in me having a late fee, but Marshall (another awesome staff member!) handled my issues directly and resolved the problems.
I want to send a huge shout out to the Lompoc Planet Fitness and that I enjoy attending this gym! Also, I want to compliment how clean the facility always is, that’s always appreciated!
