I've been to probably 70 Planet Fitness locations. This place has to be the dirtiest. The floors had gunk, hair, dirt, wadded paper, etc across the entire gym floor. The upkeep is notably disgusting which is rare for a Planet Fitness. I even got nicked by an unkept cable with exposed sharp wire, enough to draw a little blood.

The other thing I noticed is the layout of machines is erratic. E.g. chest fly machine on the opposite side of the gym from a chest press machine. Stuff like that.

IT'S ALMOST TWO HOURS DRIVE THE FREEWAY, FROM APPLE VALLEY TO HERE IT IS BERRY, IRRITATED WHEN I GET HERE AND THEY DON'T HAVE ANY HOT WATER. I DON'T LIKE GOING TO OTHER PLACES. THIS IS MY FAVORITE SPOT. IT'S CLOSE TO MY JOB. CAN YOU PLEASE FIX THE HEATER OR WHATEVER YOU NEED TO DO SO, WE CAN HAVE HOT WATER IN THIS LOCATION? IT'S BEEN SEVERAL TIMES BUT I'M TIRED GOING TO OTHER PLACES.

If you're going to park at the parking structure, make sure to give yourself enough time to leave.... someone was holding up traffic and I went over 9 minutes after the 2 hour mark and had to pay 2.99... I left around 10am on a Monday and there were quite a bit of cars leaving. Other than that, gym was busy, but I got to do the machines that I wanted. Wish there was better AC, I got so sweaty, but it is what it is.

After a long sweaty workout you want a strong hot steamy cleansing shower this is what this location provides it's the best planet fitness Ive been to in los angeles California and I have been to several this is why I love my black card membership that gives me freedom and options to choose whatever planet fitness locations that are suitable for me. Could be a great spot to work out… except there’s no A/C, not even ceiling fans, and the whole gym feels like a sauna. I’m honestly surprised more people aren’t passing out from heat exhaustion. Location and parking are convenient, sure, but I’d rather drive the extra time to a different Planet Fitness that doesn’t make me feel like I’m working out in the literal depths of hell.

En ocasíones no hay palel en el baño no hay papel para limpiar las maquinas o pero ellos (as) platicando entre ellos. Ya van varias semanas q no hay agua caliente solo hay un dia el otro no tal vez al siguiente si el siguiente no. Un dispensador de Jabon no sirve. A pero para cobrar la membresia y el mantenimiento estan puntuales pero no estan dando un buen servicio de mantenimiento. Como es eso posible. 👎👎

Great location! As someone who had never set foot in a gym prior to getting a membership here, this for me was the perfect place to start. The gym is not overwhelming at all, and there is just the right amount of equipment to put in a decent workout. The women’s locker room is cleaned and monitored regularly, and the cleaning stations to wipe down equipment is much appreciated. Front desk is very courteous, professional, and always willing to help. All in all, this is a decent Planet Fitness location. My one gripe though has to be the parking. I know this has nothing to do with Planet Fitness, but the parking system use to be better here. It would be helpful if the validation could be extended beyond two hours.

Convenient location for students, but there are objectively not enough free weights to accommodate people who lift (I.e. racks, dumbbells, bars, etc.). I’ve come to the gym and have had to wait 25+ minutes for something to open up. There are only five racks to serve for benching AND squatting. Have also seen people keep 3 sets of weights to themselves even when the gym is clearly busy. Don’t come if you’re into lifting and usually go to the gym on a schedule.

Today is Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The bathroom has not had hot water for two days. I ask the staff, and they say they don't know what's going on. I notice a certain pleasure in knowing that we won't be able to use the shower because there is no hot water. The lady at the reception is always professional and helpful, but the others seem to make fun of the situation. I hope the owners take action. After all, we are paying for the service. Thanks.

I chuckled at the sign posted about jeans being prohibited. Like, what adult wears jeans to the gym? After the first dozen laps around looking for dumbbells, it became very clear why this sign is posted. HALF the dudes in this place wear rocking denim. You can't help how overcrowded this location is, but enforcing the jeans policy would at least ensure that there would be some weights left on the racks because NOBODY here racks their weights. A bunch of people were hording weights, too. I get doing super sets with a couple different exercises-- jumping from one exercise immediately into another, but people were just chilling on their phones surrounded by a pile of weights. This was by far the worst Planet Fitness I've ever been to... and that's saying A LOT. Most of my time here was spent waiting for weights and machines to open up.

Thought this club seems to be a bit smaller in space then the two others I have visited since my membership began over a month ago, the Downtown LA one on 5th and Broadway, the other one on Venice and Midtown. Nevertheless, the equipment is state of the art, and overall ambience is modern, active, and cozy.
There is ample two hour parking available with validation of course 😏, and the mens locker room is very upscale athletic club like, roomy lockers, clean, nice showers, brightly lit up, there is also a Spa in this club, and possibly more I have yet to explore.
I did not see the abdominal twister with weights, which is a favorite of mine. There are ample cardio machines, treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes.
Plenty of functional equipment, but one aspect that impressed me the most, is there are custodians constantly vacuuming and cleaning the equipment people are using...awesome.
That being stated I appreciated and enjoyed my visit at the PF club on Washington and Hoover. I will continue to use it at my convenience.

In this gym at 1122 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90015 I face bullying and harassment from manager Derick on a daily basis. It all started with the fact that in the shower in the morning every weekday for 10 hours in a row (from 5AM till 3PM) there is a sign that a woman cleans the men's locker room (later today Derick gave an example of what I would do if my mother cleaned the locker room, from which I conclude that perhaps it is his mother). I calmly walked in the locker room towards the shower as in all the gyms with an uncovered bottom. After some time, the cleaning lady complained about me that I go to the shower in the men's locker room naked, surprise surprise. I was told about this by the manager Derick at the reception, that I have to cover up in the men's locker room because of their plastic sign next to the wet floor sign, although there is no such condition in the rules, I go straight from the locker to the shower stall, on the way back already wrapped in a towel. When I asked to provide something to cover up, I was refused (I explained to Derick that I did not cover myself with my towel because my body was sweaty and dirty after classes). I suggested that he invite a cleaner after the gym closes or before, or clean the women's locker room first. Well, or as an option that I did not offer him, hire a male cleaner for the men's locker room. To which he, like a statue, repeats to me cover up, we do not provide towels. Today, on the way out, I was again reprimanded with the words that in the future this issue will be passed on to senior management, although today I covered myself, but this is not enough for him. When I asked who complained, I received the answer that he cannot disclose this information (from which I conclude that this is speculation, fantasy, and Derick's personal dislike for me). The humiliation of customers does not end there. My friend who went with me on a Guest pass and later purchased the same PF Black subscriber, went alone and at the counter proved to Derick that he was not a guest and asked to turn on the massage chair, only after a second checkout he turned on the massage for him. He arranges the same attraction for me with massage chairs. I ask to turn on the hydromassage, turns on the usual one, then immediately turns off the usual one and after that turns on the hydromassage, sets 9 minutes on the chairs instead of 10, etc. Due to the staff's disregard for clients, you should go to this gym. Otherwise, I recommend using another chain of fitness clubs.

UPD: Answer for PF - I sent you a request via form from the app about my experience.

UPD1: The walls in the shower are covered with black mold, and where there is no mold, the walls are cleaned with a floor rag (which was previously used to clean the toilet area).

UPD2: Numerous lockers with padlocks (by other visitors) in the men's locker room are left hanging from midnight until early morning and then throughout the day. The administration has no control over this and because of this, most of the lockers are simply always occupied.

Have been coming here for a while now and for the past few weeks, I had noticed that some of the machines had a missing pin to hold the weights. As of today. 90% of the machines there are useless since the pins are all gone and if there are loose ones. People take them to the machine that they want to use. To make it worse. Staff had put PENS into the weights where the pin is supposed to be. I will most likely canceling my membership here. Just tried this location for the first time. The machines are newer than at other locations, TVs, Bluetooth, pairing to Apple Watch, generally less creaking and need for WD-40. It’s a Saturday and it wasn’t super crowded. Didn’t have to wait on any equipment.

What could it work on? There isn’t much order to their strength machines. The other locations have better flow as far as areas to concentrate on certain muscles. The employees are either super shy or hate all of us. This is the only spot where you’re not greeted with sparkles, but how long am I really gonna hang with them up front?

Two hours free parking. Don’t forget to validate in the little box on the right side of the counter … cos they won’t do it for you. 🤣

I love LOVE planet fitness. $10/month basic pass or $24.99/month for Black Card membership. They TRULY DO MEAN IT WHEN THEY SAY JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE. I wasn't homeless when I joined the gym as a black card member in 2020-21, but I did experience homelessness while still under contract, (that my mom helped me pay as a LAST GIFT I'LL EVER HAVE. Honestly, I've never gotten anything else since). Black card is $24.99/month so I am very grateful they allowed us to transfer it to her account. Then they will transfer your home gym to wherever you move to in the USA, so I was able to transfer it to DTLA with no problems at all. They took care of everything. They are almost ALL 24 hours and you can still visit ANY of the other gyms up to I believe 10 times per month with full benefits. So, no matter where you are, you can go and bring a guest for Free. Guests even receive their own sign in code all they have to do is scan your phone. Back to being homeless. They allowed me to wheel in my wagon with me and take the elevator downstairs as long as I kept it neat and tidy and out of people's way in the locker room. They never made fun of me to my face, nor to my knowledge at all, and almost every single employee let me hang out as long as I needed. They had free WiFi as well, so after my phones were stolen, there were many times I was on my laptop in the bathroom stall emailing my mom to let her know I was alright. I never had ANYTHING STOLEN from planet fitness, even when I had to park my wagon or stroller upstairs by the back entrance doors. The only thing that happened there was another member has needed help, but I couldn't find him, and couldn't find any staff so I had to check the men's room. I didn't go in unannounced, I just checked because he had heart problems and I needed to make sure he was okay. The staff was a little upset, but understood and were super accommodating saying they would help him. It made me cry. So now that I'm not homeless anymore, I would like to publicly say thank you for NOT DISCRIMINATING AGAINST A PAYING MEMBER. THANK YOU FOR LETTING MY PRIVATE LIFE AND RESIDENCE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WAY THAT YOU TREAT ANOTHER RESPECTFUL HUMAN BEING THAT'S ONLY CRIME OVERALL WAS BEING HOMELESS. AND THAT'S NOT A CRIME, THAT'S POVERTY AND SHAME AND EMBARRASSING AND SO SO HARD. THE HARDEST THING I'LL EVER EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE BESIDES LOSING MY DAUGHTER AND FAMILY AND MAN, WAS BEING HOMELESS. They would not even make me work out each visit. Sometimes I just needed to shower or use the restroom, and they were like yep that's cool. And then I would wheel out 3 minutes later or sometimes 3 hours later. There's no time limit, the can't enforce a time limit on another person's physical rehabilitation or gym time, as everyone moves at their own pace. The only thing I thought was funny was that they banned Cowboy boots, blue jeans, and I always had to have gym shoes. I got used to training barefoot when I did my jui jitsu and MMA and self defense training, lol! I don't think all of them did jiu jitsu or MMA so they were NOT FAMILIAR with being barefoot or in socks. I of course respected all of their policies, except for when they tried to stop me from taking pictures in the bathroom. Ummm everyone takes before and after pictures in the bathroom. As long as I didn't take pics or record anyone else they were cool and said nothing. They also would watch my medicine/ID purse and laptop up front if I didn't have my lock with me. They also provide soap dispensers in the showers and the showers ALWAYS had hot water and there were no time limits in them as long as you are respectful and have common courtesy of course if it's busy. One time when they didn't even have a manager, a guy went in there and cut off the bands on all of the equipment, and they were super mature about it and handled it very well. They ran DTLA without Jose for almost 3-4 months, until they got a new one from Washington. They did great! I'm not saying that planet fitness is for alhomeless people, but if you're a paying guest, they don't discriminate. 💕

I definitely like the overall environment and easy access to gym equipment, and amenities, within the Planet Fitness at Hoover and Washington. The staff is friendly, always willing to listen, and accommodate assistance to the clients and patrons there. I would definitely rate this a 5 out of 5 stars for the overall gym environment, hospitality, and dexterity of the Planet Fitness on Hoover and Washington. Thank you to the staff for making this a cozy and enjoyable gym to workout in.

I was a visitor to the Washington st. Location in Los Angeles while visiting my family for the holidays and as a longterm paid member my only requirement is to check in and pay $5 however the attendant didn't know his job and adamantly refused to allow me access to workout with my sister who's actually a member through using the link from my membership.

I like the Black Card area. This location has glass doors as you enter while all the other PF Black Card areas are partitioned off. Inside there is a room with a table a 4 cushioned chairs as well as two other tables and chairs where you can sit and eat. This location has 3 message recliners.

Also this location uses the Matrix machines for their cardio. I like these machines better because they burn more calories and you can keep going without having a count down timer to indicate you are slowing down and need to push harder.

If you’re a Black person, I would steer clear of this gym. I encountered an incident last week with a member cornering me aggressively over a massage chair spewing racist remarks and cursing at me. As I sat in disbelief. Today, when I went in to workout, the manager Andrea made insane accusations that were false and defamatory. . I’m an attorney and my office is close by, so I drop in between clients. I’ve never in life had a terrible experience as this. I am in contact with corporate now, since Andrea exclaimed that the director of Operation, Melissa Curtis, “already knows about the incident”. I will be legally handling this now. No one deserves to be treated this way. Do better!

Nice, clean gym I've been to, but…. The amount of “planet fitness employee parking” I see that are available! And yet the public can’t use is wild! Easy 10+ spots when there’s only 3 employees on the floor. Just saying but everyone/everything else is great!

Cancelled my membership after a week. I'm so tired of having to spend over 15 minutes of my time just standing next to a machine waiting for it to become available. It is packed full of people and this place has nowhere nearly enough machines to accomodate everyone. The app would tell me the crowd meter was low when the gym was packed and so full of people I couldn't see the other side of the gym. Ridiculous

I’m new to going to the gym and this is the best place for my start. The staff are mostly kind and I appreciate the machines they have. Also the hydro massage stuff is AMAZING. I honestly just go workout so I can use the hydro massage bed as a recovery treat.

Today I was extremely harassed at reception in front of everyone. They informed me that I have a monthly usage limit of 10 visits to a club other than the one I signed up for. I would like to know where this information is that I didn't find anywhere on the website or in the contract. Black Membership is false advertising!!!!!!!!

Planet fitness is a horrible company..they will not let you cancel your membership and lock you in for a year..I am homeless and have no money in my account, no job, and they took 25$ that I didn't even have, putting my account in the negative.. terrible company. Shame on you.

It's with great regret that I rate this place so poorly 😭 I have been coming to this gym since they opened around august or so and is definitely New, but it's sad how the employees, or should I say the personnel in charge have this place gone to the dogs, it's filthy to start and too many machines don't work, I have repeatedly reported machines that don't work and the employees don't even take the time to inquire which machine I am referring to, all windows are filthy, the floor is dirty, the machines are filthy and some of them make a lot of noise, the wear and tear of the whole facility is deplorable, seems that no one cares or no one is in charge. I have been coming to this place as a guest, my ex-wife has membership, this place is closer to us, but we are planning not to come here anymore, we used to go to another planet fitness for years and they really keep up their clean up and maintenance it's like night and day the difference. I truly hope the owner gets to see my posting and see what they are doing to his investment.

Last September I had my locker broken into with my wallet and car keys stolen. The gym member system happened to be down that day and people were just signing in on paper. My car that was parked on the street long gone. Never received or saw the gym security footage. Gym was also slow with paper refills.

They allow anyone to use the Black Card Membership Lounge. Makes no sense in paying for that membership, since they don't check anyways! There was a guy in there joking with his friends that none of them have it. Excuse me? So why are we paying for it? there needs to be some system in place.

Showers in the women's bathroom are not the cleanest. Make sure you bring your flip flops and spray the shower down with disinfectant before you use them.
